Colleen Echohawk   A mission for shared prosperity, cultural representation, and impactful community work. Colleen Echohawk is a self-described aggressive optimist, incredible extrovert, and someone who sees the glass as not only half full, but overflowing with abundance. For her, the whole damn pie means having a lot of joy. Filling her life with beautiful dog walks, hanging with family and friends, singing karaoke, reading good books, and watching shows with her husband.   Doesn't seem too much to ask right? But she's also a believer in shared prosperity and she's not afraid to step up and do the scary things in life—whether that's running for mayor of Seattle, building housing units for Seattle's urban native homeless, or running a native retail business. Over the last two decades, Colleen has done all this and so much more as part of her commitment to helping marginalized populations and native prosperity. Key Takeaways:Native disparity: In King County, less than 1% of the population are native, yet they make up over 15% of the homeless population.  Inspiring her kids: Colleen's passionate about helping her children to understand truth, showing them that native people can be in office, and teaching them to not be afraid to take risks.Changing the native narrative: She's CEO of Eighth Generation, a Seattle-based art and lifestyle brand that is creating products by inspired natives, not native-inspired products.  The Whole Pie means joy: Listen in for how Colleen achieves the whole damn pie. If you enjoy listening, be sure to follow us so you're the first to know when we add new episodes. Nobody Should Believe Me

In the wake of obtaining shocking public records about her sister's case, host Andrea Dunlop decides to divulge the details of the second investigation into her sister, Megan Carter. Seated alongside Detective Mike Webber, Andrea delves into the extensive documentation, and together the two unpack the devastating information about what reportedly happened to her niece. Despite video evidence, a successful separation test, and expert testimony from one of the most well-respected experts in the country, the juvenile court judge who reviewed the case returned custody of Megan's two children. Andrea remains deeply concerned that her niece and nephew are victims of a flawed system incapable of addressing the horrifying reality of medical child abuse and makes public the evidence against her sister as a last resort to protect them.  During their discussion, Andrea and Mike also examine an irresponsible and misleading article about Megan's case published by NBC in collaboration with King 5, a local Seattle news outlet. In what has become a distressing pattern in media coverage of medical child abuse cases, this article attacks the doctor who reported the abuse and neglects to mention the evidence that made her do so.  Meanwhile the judge's order that returned custody of the two children—and on which the media's reporting appears to have relied—contains shocking mistakes and untruths. Andrea talks to someone close to the case to set the record straight. The reporting in this episode is based on information in the public record. We live in a culture that avoids death and Peaceful Exit is an invitation to be in candid conversation about it. Writer and host Sarah Cavanaugh believes talking about death will work to dispel our natural fear and build courage in the face of death. She's talking to authors who have written extensively on the topic to help us normalize death as part of the human experience, no matter who you are, no matter your politics, spiritual faith or socioeconomic status. Peaceful Exit explores how to radically accept our eventual demise, how to talk about it and even plan for it. But it's not all doom and gloom – there's joy, meaning and connection to be found in exploring the messiness of death, dying and grief. For more information about Peaceful ExitOriginal Music by Ricardo Russell, find him on Band Camp Produced by Larj Media

#NowNovember Now is the time to get started on your goals. Now is the time to move forward.  Just because the holiday season is upon us, doesn’t mean that we let up. Once again, I have April Pride founder & CCO of Van Der Pop  North America's most recognized female-focused cannabis lifestyle brand.  April is perfectly aligned with my theme for November.  In “Timing is the Competitive Edge,” April reminds us all that when time is on your side, you must move with momentum.  That time-sensitive movement, may require you to shift your focus and table other projects so that you can grab opportunities.   Special thanks to Tina Nole and my family at Larj Media for always being on time.
