Happy WU Year. .... this is basically a Wu-Tang reunion album so you KNOW RawGonnaGiveItToYou is going to pop in from the message boards to drop an insane amount of knowledge on us. We talk about being a Brat about toilet paper and why that it is actually a good idea. Then we FINALLY talk about he Lingerie Football League, Aaron gets into what is obviously a Vermouth pyramid scheme, and Matt talks about his new love in his life. Then we hang with the Chef (he keeps feeding us!) and talk about how this album came to be and caused problems in the Wu. We basically become the best Raekwon podcast out there. Next week you better us that we SHOULDN'T do a podcast about the eponymous Rage Against the Machine Album because F*&k you we won't do what you tell me.... us. Whatever Call or text the Beck line at 802 277 BECK. Aaron loves feet. Oh... these guys don't know the rizzler. this is what I am dealing with.
With his team battling to win every match that it can, Catoctin High wrestling coach Rick Reeder is this week's guest on The Final Score podcast. Reeder chats with host Greg Swatek about his small and mighty team. The Cougars can't fill every weight class, which forces them to forfeit four to five matches per dual meet. Yet, in the matches they actually do wrestle, they often win, which keeps them competitive against just about any team. A graduate of Frederick High School, Reeder also talks about how he got his start into wrestling and coaching, as well as the rise of girls wrestling and what it means for the sport. He talks about his time spent as a player and head coach with the semi-pro football team, the Frederick Outlaws, and shares how he became the first head coach for the Baltimore Charm in the now defunct Lingerie Football League. Was that job really as great as some people might think? Prior to that conversation, FNP sports writers Alexander Dacy and John Cannon join Greg, as they always do, to discuss the Frederick County sports scene. This week's topics include a buzzer beater for the Catoctin High boys basketball team and a big win for the Frederick High girls.

It wasn't all hand-over-fist success stories back in 1994, no sir! There were also ego driven flights of fancy and wild money-making schemes that backfired royally! Sarah & Joe dive deep into this pack of '94 boondoggles, including the Steven Spielberg theme restaurant Dive!, Joseph Heller's Catch-22 sequel Closing Time, the Canadian Football League's ill-advised expansion into America, and Fox's abortive live-action Krusty the Clown spin-off from The Simpsons. The restaurant industries of Los Angeles and Las Vegas get a glance, plus the fanbases and appetites for foreign football in places like Sacramento, Shreveport, Baltimore, and Memphis, random spin-off football leagues like the XFL and the Lingerie Football League, and what the ramifications could've been had Krusty the Clown actually aired. Are three-decade-plus sequels a good idea in any medium? Should they give the CFL another shot in the U.S.? Will The Simpsons ever actually end? There is plenty speculated about in this information packed, quixotic forty-first episode!

When someone mentions the LFL most people think of a "gimmick" sport. A bunch of half naked women in lingerie playing football where guys are hoping for a girl on girl touchdown celebration. What was once known as the Lingerie Football League is now the Legends Football League and what was once looked at a publicity stunt is now being taken as a serious competitive sport. I personally had heard of the LFL when it originally formed and can remember begging my parents to let me order Lingerie Bowl on pay-per-view during half time of the Super Bowl. Needless to say I didn't get my wish, however years later I heard about the league changing their name to Legends Football League. For whatever reasons I was not as excited about the LFL as I once was as a child during half time of the Super Bowl. It had nothing to do with the name change or the simple fact that lingerie was no longer being advertised as the uniform of choice, but just that there was so many other things filling my time. I stumbled across Monique Gaxiola's Twitter account (@TheGaxLFL13) and inquired if she would like to be a guest on my podcast. Not knowing much of the rules or the athletic backgrounds of these women, I thought what a great way to help introduce the sport to more fans who like myself may have heard about the league but didn't know much more then it being about women playing football. Monique gracefully accepted my invite & I sincerely hope that after listening to this podcast interview you will gain a greater respect for not only Monique and what she has had to endure but the rest of the women of the league. Plus some light hardheartedness as well, because after all anyone who has listened to any of my podcasts knows we cannot go long without cracking some jokes. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mmbradiopodcast/support

This week Bunnie welcomes Shelby, Middle Linebacker for the super popular women’s football team, the Nashville Knights. She’s gorgeous, athletic, and not afraid to tackle you right to the ground. She and Bunnie talk about what inspired her to partake in such a dangerous game, how she really feels about wearing those short shorts, what it’s really like to be in a rough sport like football, and they answer some listener questions about dating advice and toxic exes. Takeaways: The Nashville Knights are a women's American football team of the Legends Football League based in Nashville, Tennessee. Shelby is the bad ass middle linebacker, and the lucky #13 on the team. Bunnie tried out for the team and loved meeting all the rad chicks even though she ended up not playing. The Legends Football League girls don’t wear lingerie anymore, but they love wearing their small shorts. They can still be hot and kick major ass. These girls are super competitors and great athletes. Don’t let just how beautiful they are fool you. Pro tip: if you can’t dance, just jingle and jangle around and no one will know the difference. Shelby is an all around athlete and has done dance, wrestling and jiu jitsu. Trying out for the Knights was the first time, and not getting in just made the competitor inside of her want to try even harder. Hot dudes of Nashville take notice — Shelby is available for love and needs a squish, not just a tourist. Communication, respect, and a united front with your partner are super important qualities when raising children, whether they are yours or not. J loves it when you call him Daddy Roll! No it’s not emotionally challenging for Bunnie to share Daddy Roll with another girl. It’s always her calling the shots about threesomes, and she’s the first one to bring it up. People get addicted to toxicity! If he’s an ex, he’s an ex for a reason. You can’t make someone be better, they have to do it on their own. Quotes: “I beat up everybody on the dance team.” “Maybe that’s why I like football — I’m not dating.” “She may sound like Yosemite Sam sometimes, but she’s f*ckin adorable.” “I don’t think I’ve had a threesome that wasn’t my idea.” “Don’t be a Captain Save a Dude. Ever.” “If we can hide that we have no eyebrows, don’t you think us ladies can hide our red flags too?!” Mentioned: Nashville Knights Nashville Knights Tickets - use promo code: NK13 The LFHell @carolinexshelby Check out Bunnie: @xomgitsbunnie BunnieXo @officialdumbblonde

One of the most interesting origin stories that I've ever encountered. Jori Parys is a sports anchor in Shreveport, Louisiana, but she grew up in Chicago. From singing the National Anthem in front of thousands--to winning a championship in the Lingerie Football League. We talked about the challenges for young broadcasters making a home in a smaller market.
Co-hosts Andrew James (@OneWhoSeesDimly) and Eric D. (@HopSnobbery) once again welcome The Voice of God, Mel Allen (@TheRealVoiceMel) and launch Episode 010 of Riff On, planning to talk solely about podcasts and podcasting...our new on demand lifestyle. Eric D., after going to school and having a radio background, wishes there was more music-based podcasts. However, due to music licensing and copyrighting, it's not as common as talk-based podcasts. Andrew immediately brings up Mike Luoma, who posts year end best of music lists and he had hoped that Mike would play them on his podcast, (Glow In the Dark Radio). Mike is a Vermont radio staple, who recently was let go at The Point FM 104.7, and was once at WIZN 106.7, where Mel now hosts his own show on weeknights called, Highway to Mel. Mike writes books (the Vatican Assassin series) and is now on noontime on Burlington's web-based radio station, WBKM.org. Eric D. put in time at WEZF 92.9 and WWPV after interning for Corm and the Coach at WIZN, a show which Mel produced for over two years. Corm and the Coach were legendary Vermont broadcasters led by Steve Cormier and Tom "The Coach" Brennan, former head coach of the University of Vermont Catamounts men’s basketball team. Eric D. and Mel both worked with Earl "The Duke" Handy (now owner of Handy's Lunch), Ian Kelly, and Bill "The Rocker" Corbiel (RIP). Mel goes into his radio background, which started originally in 1987, on WJSC at Johnson State College. His one taught lesson was "No Dead Air" and despite having some speech difficulties earlier in his life, he went on-air with a friend and when that friend froze on an open microphone, he slid in front of the microphone and jumped right in. 30+ years later, Mel has worked for an oldies station, classic rock radio, top 40, chart hit radio, Album Oriented Rock, Adult Contemporary, and country radio. Every Riff On podcast seems to have a backdrop of great Vermont beer. Burlington Beer Company's Chunky & Jelly gets a shoutout. The boys started with Farnham Ale's Mr. Fox red ale and Foley Brothers Prawpah Ruby was also consumed early on. Andy calls out Eric's radio jargon when he questions what a skimmer tape was after Eric recollects his college radio show 'Sight for Sore Ears', which he co-hosted with his college radio roommate Dennis from Calais, ME. Eric's other college radio experience was four years on WWPV, St. Michael's College Radio, called "Let it Roll", from 1998 to 2002, where he played live, improvisational, groove jam, years ahead of Sirius/XM and their Jam On station. Seemingly, no radio DJ likes to hear his voice, no matter how much or little they talk when they turn on the mic. And ironically, podcasts are all about talking, and Mel and Eric D. and Andy all host or co-host multiple podcasts at times. Mel's history in podcasting goes back before it was even labeled podcasting. He was recording audio and sending them through AOL instant message and other platforms to troops during Desert Storm, which was Aug 2, 1990 – Feb 28, 1991. He then progressed into sports radio accidentally and co-hosted 'Sports Talk with the Chat Pack' in Burlington. His experience there led him to being head-hunted to host a podcast for the Lingerie Football League with his Chat Pack co-host. The Lingerie Football League website had 3 million hits a day during the offseason and 12 million hits a day during the season and when Mel told his co-host that if they even got 5% of those numbers, they could quit their day jobs, the co-host called the Owner of the Lingerie Football League and asked for more money. Three times. The Owner fired his Co-host and offered the podcast to Mel on his own and uncomfortable in hosting three days before the launch, Mel had to pull out and he eventually sold his half of the company to this co-host. Talk then turns to music and podcast delivery and how technology has changed how we get what we listen to - from reel to reel to digital tape to digital recording and now instant delivery. Andy is a big Bill Simmons and The Ringer podcast fan and discusses how Bill wanted to bring podcasting to ESPN when he was still there. He eventually did, but spoke not too nicely about Roger Goodell, the commissioner of the NFL, and was shown the door. Andy states that it’s not just the technology, but its having the network in the palm of your hand. Andy's favorite podcasts are 'The Last Podcast on the Left', 'Underwater Sunhine', which is the Counting Crows podcast. All of the guys are Counting Crows fan and Eric D. recollects how he got his promotional copy of 'August and Everything After' in Fall of 1993 and seeing them on David Letterman's Tonight Show for the first time, an episode that Madonna was on very stoned. Podcasts have really raised in popularity since the introduction of iPhones and our constant data connection. NPR has really helped bring podcasting to the mainstream with their recording and posting of their standard shows and making them available as podcasts. NPR's Serial is one podcast that really comes to mind as to what really launched podcasts to the mainstream public, which launched in the Fall of 2014. Eric D. talks about some of the podcasts that he's listened to since he got into listening to them, including the first season of 'Startup', which was about the founding of Gimlet Media. 'Reply All' is a Gimlet Media podcast, and Alex Blumberg, co-host of 'Reply All', trended on Twitter this week with his Podcast Bingo. The squares are a must read if you are a podcast fan. (SHOW NOTES EDIT OF THE PODCAST! @AlexLaughs is actually NOT Alex Blumberg, but is Alex Sujong Laughlin, producer of @transmitterpods) Before Eric D. did launch a podcast, he guested on the Off the Table podcast with Pauly V. where they discussed how to setup and launch a podcast. You can find that on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/AaqREbNw-ds So, Eric D. finally started a podcast a year ago, as he launched the Let's Fix Construction podcast with Cherise Lakeside, his co-founder of LetsFixConstruction.com You can find it at www.LFCpodcast.com Mel had previously launched The GR802 Podcast, but just pivoted to videos on YouTube. He's visiting locations and will be recording video and you can visit it at Andrew James co-hosts The Local Haunt with Carrie Henry, where they host local singers and songwriters on Facebook and Soundcloud. The last beer that the boys enjoyed was Bent Hill Brewery's Gracious Thoughts, a juniper berry chaga imperial black IPA. The podcast was quickly wrapped up because the boys had to pee! Delaware is the first state to open up the doors to sports betting after the Supreme Court decision. They crew discusses the Lingerie Football League or "Legends Football League." Chris Manning from Fear The Sword joins the show to talk all things Cavs. What is the future of the team after LeBron? The squad remembers the 17th year anniversary of the Iverson step-over. How many times can one person strikeout?
Jayne Caldwell and Quincy Hewitt started playing football in Australia. They loved playing so much that they moved to the US to play in the LFL, the highest level possible for women. LFL stands for Legends Football League, but many people know it as its previous name, the Lingerie Football League. They both play for the Chicago Bliss, a force every season in the LFL. Jayne is the quarterback and Quincy is her tight end. If you have ever seen a game then you know these women take football serious. Jayne and Quincy are great athletes, fierce competitors, and they're beautiful. My girlfriend plays for the Bliss as well, so I got to know Jayne and Quincy over the past couple of years. I recently caught up with my "mates" in Chicago to talk about the upcoming LFL season. We also discussed controversial topics such as the criticism the league has dealt with and creepy fans that request game worn socks and panties.
DJ Sisco - Roja Records X Cresent Records X Journees Music X Brawla Recordsfacebook.com/djsiscotwitter.com/djsiscosoundcloud.com/djsiscosoundcloud.com/brawlarecordsmixcloud.com/djsiscomixcloud.com/brawlaradiohttps://www.beatport.com/artist/dj-sisco/351147Every partygoer that has ever graced the floor of a club has, at one point, looked up at the DJ booth and dreamt about what it must be like to be the focal point of everyone’s night. A few of those party goers have turned their dreams into reality and mastered the skills necessary to control the dance floor and actually be the focal point. DJ Sisco is one of those people. There’s no straight forward path to becoming a success in the world ofdance music, and DJ Sisco took the scenic route. Getting his start with hip hop, he held his first residency at the age of 15 at a club called Charlie’s in Muncie, Indiana. His turntable tricks and energy behind the decks quickly caught the attention of surrounding clubs and radio stations, and within a few years he was a regionalfavorite with steady bookings. After making the rounds in the Midwest, DJ Sisco was ready for a change and moved to Florida in 2006. It was here that he started to expand his musical horizons and fell in love with the jazzy feel of house music. He didn’t forget his hip hop roots, however, and now incorporates beat juggling, scratching and a cappellaoverlays into his house sets while still keeping the mixes seamless, on key and in correct time. 2010 was the busiest year for DJ Sisco yet. He became the official arena DJ for the Lingerie Football League teams the Tampa Bay Breeze and the Orlando Fantasy, performing in stadiums that seat 20,000 people. He was featured at the Ibiza Beach party that was sponsored by Es Paradis at Winter Music Conference in Miami and also performed at a sold out VIP event for the Vinyl Music Festival in Sarasota. In addition, he performed at the Earthdance Festival in Sarasota and the Fish Head Ball and pre-party in St. Petersburg for the Tampa Bay Times.20 Cities across the U.S. in a three month span is the way 2011 began. Playing from Tampa, Chicago, Indiana, Las Vegas, Miami and Orlando, DJ Sisco hit a giant challenge. “Not going to lie, walking into the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas was pretty nerve racking†says Sisco. With a bigger picture and a new outlook on the way music was heading, 2012 through 2013 was a new adventure. From remixes, collaboration’s and original music, Sisco has become one of the most sought after music producers in the house music scene. Run The Drop will be DJ Sisco’s 3rd E.P. Release on Crescent Records and there is still one more to come.In the past 3 years, he has been hitting the charts with 6 in the top 10 5 in the top 20 3 in the top 50 3 in the top 100 on his DJ Mixes. 5 in the top 10 2 in the top 50 on Beatport Remix contest, , 2 in the top 10 on, Toolroom Records Producer Challenge , DJ Sisco has continued to be recognized as one of the leading house music DJ’ s and producers in Florida. Vera calls in. Wants to join the Lingerie Football League by J.B. Hager
Alyssa's career started by complete accident after she moved to LA in 2004 to pursue her life long passion as a hip-hop dancer/choreographer. Friends heard her singing to herself, forced her to try karaoke one night, and the rest is history. One year later, having never professionally sang or recorded, she released her first two albums, “The Alyssa Jacey” EP and “Closed eyes… …open Heart” LP. After submitting to the San Diego County Fair in 2005, she was hired to perform multiple shows there that summer and all around town. Later that year she picked up a guitar and spent hours a day teaching herself so that by only after three short weeks was able to perform 30-minute sets, accompanying herself. The following year, “The Soul” EP was released after being flown to Miami to record it. This was the first album Alyssa played acoustic guitar on, as well as debuting her percussion, egg shaking skills, which would later turn in to an unexpected path as a drummer!“Turning Points” EP was released in 2009 (basically taking songs from “The Soul,” re-recording them and added a couple new tracks). By this time Alyssa had already performed over 200 shows both acoustically and with a full band, toured, had multiple TV and Radio interviews and performances, tons of press and she began playing drums at live shows. Jacey released what she calls her “first real CD,” titled, “Here's To Change,” in January of 2010. “It's the first time I had sent it off for duplication, had it properly designed, packaged, got the bar code, the whole 9.” This was also the first time she had released a 10-song, full length album, which you can hear on Alyssa Jacey Radio (Pandora.com) where she played acoustic guitar on almost every song. This one features her hit single, “Fall Out of Love,” which has continued to get radio airplay since it's release. Watch her professional music video on her Youtube channel. Now 10 years later, Alyssa has performed over 1,100 self-booked live shows/tours (click this link to read the latest review on a live concert she performs every Tuesday night online,) sung the National Anthem for the Padres, Lingerie Football League (and others), a multi-instrumentalist, and played shows with Paula Cole, Shawn Colvin, Bruno Mars, Meiko, Serena Ryder, Angel Taylor, Ryan Star, Joan Osborne, Sophie B. Hawkins, PEPPER, Bob Marley's The Wailers, Keith Anderson, Andy Grammer. It is approaching 2.5 years ago, when Alyssa took a major step and moved from everything she knew from being born and raised in San Diego (Family, friends, where she billy block showgraduated college, favorite venues) and moved to Nashville, TN. In that short amount of time, Alyssa has already accomplished the following: Released four singles and soon to be her second full-length album, written roughly 50 new songs, played over 350 live shows, performed/interviewed live on both tv and radio, had meetings with record labels, publishing companies, signed three non-exclusive deals with three different licensing companies, had management interest and the list keeps growing. From day one, Alyssa has done everything herself: Management (both individually and for her band when she has one), production, releasing of albums, marketing, promotion. “Alyssa Jacey is single-handedly THE most self-motivated person I've ever met,” says Ray Gmeiner of Virgin/Capitol Records, and you don't have to know her to agree; It's all over the Internet and in any press you've ever read. This kid is one heck of an ambitious, stop at nothing, goal-reaching go-getter, and that's putting it lightly. It's only a matter of time before something major breaks for this artist!
As the sports world gears up for the bread and circus spectacle of Super Bowl XLVIII, we take a look at the benefits and importance of sports on a local level-where, unlike the NFL, it isn't ruled by money and corporate sponsorships. Then we take a quick look at what sports fans could be doing with their time, brains and energy instead of "playing" fantasy sports. And finally, at the end of the show, we play some audio from a "news report" on the Legends Football League (aka Lingerie Football League) and how the corporate media once again asks all the wrong questions.
