There's a deadly fungus among us! Alexis Hejna from Honeysuckle Rose Creations hosts a roundtable look the second season of the hit TV series based off the hit video game (and its sequel), joined by Jesse Starcher and Jayson Teasely. Let's take a look at this story of vengeance, love, and mushrooms. The second season of the American post-apocalyptic drama television series The Last of Us was originally broadcast on HBO between April and May 2025. Based on the video game franchise developed by Naughty Dog, the season is set twenty-five years into a pandemic caused by a mass fungal infection, which causes its hosts to transform into zombie-like creatures and collapses society. The second season, based on the first half of the 2020 game The Last of Us Part II, follows Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) five years after the events of the first season, after they have settled into Jackson, Wyoming, with Joel's brother Tommy (Gabriel Luna) and Ellie's friends Dina (Isabela Merced) and Jesse (Young Mazino).HBO renewed The Last of Us for a second season less than two weeks after the series premiered in January 2023. Co-creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann were joined in the writers' room by Halley Gross and Bo Shim; Druckmann wrote and co-directed the games, and Gross co-wrote Part II. Principal photography took place in British Columbia from February to August 2024. Druckmann, Mazin, and Peter Hoar returned to direct the seven episodes alongside newcomers Kate Herron, Nina Lopez-Corrado, Mark Mylod, and Stephen Williams. Un kopš tā laika referendumi Latvijā vairs nav arī bijuši. Tagad visu nosaka deputāti. Paraksti gan tiek vākti arī referendumiem, bet nesekmīgi, jo savākt tik daudz parakstus, ļaudīm ejot pie notāra, neizdodas. Un grūti pateikt, vai kādreiz Latvijā kāds referendums vēl notiks. Ja vien  likumos atkal netiks veiktas kādas izmaiņas. Vajadzētu Latvijas tautai uzticēt kaut vai rosināt vairāk izlemt kādus grūtākus jautājums, vai tā ir spējīga lemt? Varbūt tiešām ir drošāk, ka visu nosaka deleģētie tautas kalpi.

ASV prezidents Donalds Tramps šonedēļ paziņoja par jaunu muitas tarifu noteikšanu preču importam no ārvalstīm, Eiropas Savienības tajā skaitā. Draudēts tika jau sen, nu tas ir izpildījies. Eiropas Savienībā tagad spriež, kā atbildēt. Bet vairākas dienas daudzi ar klusām, bet veltām cerībām gaidīja ziņas no Lietuvas, kur mācību laikā purvā bija pazuduši četri ASV karavīri, kuri diemžēl tika atrasti miruši. Un pavisam drīz šie mikromobilitātes rīki atkal sabirs pilsētu ielās, radot ne mazums problēmu gan pašiem braucējiem, gan apkārtējiem. Kā mazināt drošības riskus un ko saka statistika? Raidījumā Kā labāk dzīvot disktutē CSDD satiksmes drošības eksperts Oskars Irbītis, Latvijas mobilitātes asociācijas pārstāvis Edgars Jēkabsons un biedrības "Drošās ielas" pārstāvis Māris Jonovs. Oskars Irbītis iepazīstina ar pētījumu negadījumiem, kur nokļuvuši, izmantojot elektroskrejriteni. Viena no lielākām problēmām ir brīvdienu naktis, ka vairāk nekā puse no braucējiem bijuši alkohola reibumā. Visiem ir liela pārliecība, ko tur nebraukt ar elektroskrejriteni, bet pārliecība pazūd, kad cilvēks iekļūst negadījumos. Izrādās, ka šis  aparāts nebremzē kā velosipēds, nestūrējas kā velosipēds, kad brauc divatā, tas bieži beidzas sāpīgi. Tie ir primārie secinājumi," atzīst Oskars Irbītis. Lielākais negadījumu skaits – kritieni.  "Salīdzinoši nelieti nelīdzenumi ceļā, piemēram, pēc remonta, kur salikti ielāpi, un tas ielāps ar laiku iesēdies, šķērsojot to ar skrejriteni, nevienam vien ir izrauta stūre no rokām," turpina Oskars Irbītis. "Daudziem ir beidzies bēdīgi mēģinājums paskatīties telefonā, izvilkt telefonu no kabatas, vai kādu pasveicināt, atraujot roku no stūres. Skrejritenis ir tas, kas jāstūrē ar abām rokām." Labā ziņa – ir samazinājies to cilvēku skaits, kas brauc ar elektroskrejriteni alkohola reibumā. Samazinājies arī kopējas negadījumu skaits. Pieaug skrejriteņu lietotāju skaits. Mikromobilitātes braucamie būtiski var atslogot sabiedrisko transportu pilsētā. Tāpat kā braukt alkohola reibumā, arī braukt divatā ar elektroskrejriteni ir aizliegts, jo tas arī potenciāls drauds negadījumam. Aptauja rāda, ka – 7% braukuši divatā no tiem, kas iekļuvuši negadījumos. 5% mērot ātrumu, braukuši divatā. Braucos divatā var gūt sevišķi smagas traumas, sevišķi traģiski beidzas, ja pieaugušais ved bērnu. Drošībai, protams, iesaka lietot aizsargķiveri, bet īres skrejriteņiem to nevar nodrošināt. Ja arī piedāvājums, cilvēki higiēnas apsvērumu dēļ no tām atsakās, norāda Edgars Jēkabsons. "Aizsargķivere noderētu, jo tieši galvas traumas. Skrejriteņa vadītāja traumas vairāk līdzinās motociklista traumām, nevis velosipēdista traumām, jo kritiena mehānisms ir savādāks. Velosipēdists vairāk krīt uz sāniem, skrejriteņa vadītājs krīt "pāri ragiem"," bilst Oskars Irbītis. "Ķiveres ne vienmēr spēj pasargāt no sejas sasišanas. Ja brauc ikdienā brauc ar skrejriteni, ieteikums arī uzvilkt cimdus, kas paredzēti moto un velo braukšanai, jauniešiem arī lietot elkoņa un ceļu sargus. Traumatisms ar to krītas, to apliecina arī mediķi."

It stars Cate Blanchett as Lillith, an outlaw who forms an alliance with a team of misfits to find the missing daughter of the most powerful man in the universe. The ensemble cast also features Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Édgar Ramírez, Ariana Greenblatt, Florian Munteanu, Gina Gershon and Jamie Lee Curtis.The film was announced in August 2015, with Lionsgate Films developing it with Ari and Avi Arad producing, and Leigh Whannell in talks to direct. By February 2020, Erik Feig had joined as a producer and Roth was attached to direct from a screenplay by Craig Mazin. Casting took place from May 2020 to April 2021, with Blanchett cast first and others the following year.
