Fracture risk reduction should be the primary focus in treating osteoporosis. Hormone replacement therapy can effectively maintain and improve bone density in postmenopausal women. Proper nutrition, digestion, and inflammation management are crucial for bone health. MK4, a form of vitamin K2, has been shown to improve bone density and reduce fractures, while MK7 has not. While magnesium is important for overall health, there is limited evidence to support its role in reducing fractures. Exercise, including resistance training and functional exercises, can help improve bone health and reduce fracture risk.

Not all forms of magnesium are created equal, and the one you choose can make a significant impact on your brain and behavior. Different forms have varying levels of bioavailability, meaning some are more easily absorbed and utilized by your body than others, affecting how well they work to support your health. That's why it's important to prioritize magnesium supplements that emphasize quality, purity, and potency as high-quality products are formulated to ensure maximum absorption, avoiding fillers and additives that can reduce effectiveness.I'm joined by Scott Emmons, the co-founder and COO of MD Logic Health, for this episode, and we're diving deep into the fascinating world of magnesium and unlocking its secrets. As we continue in Isaiah's sermon on pride, we will consider how we can battle against the pride of rebellion and the pride of feminine extravagance.
Unity delights in diversity! While there is only One Reality, called Kālī, She plays in a myriad ways, appearing in a dazzling display of forms! Taking the 10 mahāvidyās for example, the 10 aspects of Kālī, they each of them have their own vigrahas (anthropomorphic descriptions), yantras (geometric representations), mantras (vibrational formulae) etc. giving us at least 30 different ways to conceptualize Kālī who is Herself beyond all conceptualization! In this class, I talk a little about the 33 Kālīs, making an argument for 3 additional forms to the 30 sketched out above. This lecture was given on Tuesday, on the new moon night, so we open with a few statements as to why that's such a big deal in our tradition. Also, we cover many foundational aspects of the practice like Tantra like where to get a legit mantra, the qualifications of the Guru etc. Finally, we offer a few simple practices you can take up right away to start propitiating Mā and we make a few points about the Kālī yantra as a symbol of the body!Jai Mā!Lectures happen live every Monday at 7pm PSTUse this link and I will see you there:https://www.zoom.us/j/7028380815For more videos, guided meditations and instruction and for access to our lecture library, visit me at:https://www.patreon.com/yogawithnishTo get in on the discussion and access various spiritual materials, join our Discord here: https://discord.gg/U8zKP8yMrMSupport the show

In this solo episode, psychologist Traci Stein discusses grief and the phenomenon of After Death Communications (ADCs). Grief is an experience that absolutely everyone will have, but most of us feel ill prepared to navigate. Yet, the research shows that most people believe in an afterlife, and over half of us report experiencing some sort of after-death communication with our loved ones - whether through feeling their presence, hearing, smelling or seeing them, or through “visitation” dreams. These experiences can be profoundly comforting and give us permission to move forward. In this episode, Traci also shares some personal experiences and invites listeners to share theirs as well. Kratom, aquama, and high-dose vitamin C are potential solutions for getting off opiates and benzodiazepines. Breaking addictive cycles requires a strong desire for change and an energetic shift. Using whole plant extracts rather than isolated compounds can provide a more balanced and effective experience. Amanita is available in various forms, including capsules, sprays, gummies, and chocolates. Microdoses of Amanita range from 0.2 to 2 grams, while low doses range from 2 to 5 grams. Amanita can improve focus, emotional intelligence, and energy levels. Amanita can enhance dream recall and vividness, making it useful for dream enhancement and lucid dreaming. The Dream Herb, Colea zactichichi, is known for its potential to enhance dream recall and vividness. Silean Capensis, Blue Lotus, and Coleus zeylanicus are dream-enhancing herbs that can promote lucid dreaming. Silean Capensis is traditionally consumed in the morning by chewing a small stick of the root, while Blue Lotus is known for its calming and mood-lifting effects. Kanna is a natural antidepressant that works as an SNRI and has immediate effects. It is prescribed in South Africa and is known for its euphoric and mood-boosting properties. Consistency and intention are key when using these plant medicines, and microdosing Amanita is a good place to start for beginners. In this episode of Thriving Through Menopause, OBGYN Dr. Cat Brown discusses the importance of women receiving proper treatment during perimenopause and menopause. She explains that the founders of Winona, a women's health clinic, started the clinic to address the access to care issue for menopause care. Dr. Brown emphasizes the gap in healthcare and the ongoing stigma surrounding hormone replacement therapy (HRT) due to negative information from the Women's Health Initiative study. She also highlights the need for healthcare providers to be more comfortable and knowledgeable about treating menopause symptoms. In this conversation, Dr Cat Brown and Clarissa discuss hormone replacement therapy (HRT) as a treatment for menopause symptoms. They highlight the benefits of HRT in managing physical symptoms such as hot flashes, low mood, and vaginal dryness. They also address the misconceptions and fears surrounding hormone therapy, including the use of bioidentical hormones and testosterone. Dr. Cat emphasizes the importance of finding a provider who listens to your concerns and offers evidence-based treatment options. They also discuss the need for reliable sources of information on menopause and HRT. Takeaways Access to care for menopause treatment is a significant issue, and telemedicine platforms like Winona are helping to make care more readily available. There is a gap in healthcare when it comes to women's health, and many providers dismiss women's symptoms due to a lack of comfort and experience with treating menopause. The negative information from the Women's Health Initiative study has created a stigma around hormone replacement therapy, leading to a reluctance among providers to prescribe it. Women should take an inventory of their symptoms and keep a symptom diary to share with their healthcare provider, as this information is invaluable in determining the appropriate treatment. Women experiencing brain fog and mental changes should recognize that these symptoms can be related to perimenopause and menopause. Women should focus on lifestyle changes, including exercise, nutrition, and sleep hygiene, to optimize their health during this transition. Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (HRT) involves using hormones that are chemically identical to those produced by the body, while traditional HRT often uses synthetic hormones. Birth control pills are not an appropriate treatment for menopause symptoms, as they are designed to suppress ovulation and prevent pregnancy. Bioidentical forms of hormones are generally preferred, as the body better assimilates them and can be used at lower doses. SSRIs and antidepressants are often prescribed for menopause symptoms, but they are not frontline medications and may not address the underlying hormonal changes. Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is an effective treatment for menopause symptoms, including hot flashes, low mood, and vaginal dryness. HRT can also have preventive benefits, such as reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, and dementia. Finding a healthcare provider who listens to your concerns and takes your symptoms seriously is important. Be cautious of providers who dismiss your symptoms or immediately prescribe birth control pills for menopause symptoms. Seek reliable sources of information on menopause and HRT, such as reputable medical websites and organizations. In Episode 13 of the "Transcendent Naturalism" series, John Vervaeke, Gregg Henriques, and guest Matt Segall engage in a deep exploration of the intersection between spirituality and cognitive science. They delve into how concepts like etheric imagination and process philosophy, particularly in the works of Schelling and Whitehead, can broaden our understanding of naturalism. The dialogue critically examines the constraints of traditional naturalism, highlighting the significance of imagination within scientific frameworks, and discussing the ongoing evolution of human perception and cognition.
