Thanksgiving gatherings and football games have us in the mood for food! So, we're serving up the story of Army veteran Andrew Arbogast, who went from flying combat missions to building Arbo's Cheese Dip into a national success. We start with some epic memories from inside the Apache cockpit- the world's most advanced attack helicopter. Arbogast also recalls enjoying care packages filled with meats and cheeses on a Forward Operating Base in Afghanistan, and how those moments eventually inspired him to take a chance on creating a business. He also explains how Bunker Labs, veteran business development programs, played a pivotal role in the explosive growth of Arbo's Cheese Dip. He shares how they provided the training and connections he needed to expand his home-based business into a cheese dip brand that's now available nationwide!Plus, we hear about his appearance at the 2023 CMA Awards, and his encounter with Country superstar Jelly Roll. Melissa McHarg interviews Michael Haynie, Ph.D. the Executive Director & Founder of Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) at Syracuse University. The mission of AmericaServes is “to empower human services providers in the United States, and equip them with the technological and informational resources needed to efficiently and effectively guide service members, veterans, and their families to the most appropriate services and resources.” As Mike explains it, it is not so much that there are a lack of services for Veterans but there is not a community network to make those services available when and where they are needed.
