World Indoor Championships are officially behind us so we have lots to unpack. Overall, the meet lacked in star power but was still able to produce some memorable moments. Three days. 516 athletes, one championship record, three world leads, 32 national records. We had drama. We had dominance. We had Jakob Ingebrigtsen running off with two gold medals and made it look like a tempo run. We had Gudaf Tsegay breaking a championship record and redefined what a full send means. We had Grant Holloway and Mondo Duplantis pulling off three-peats to cement their greatness. And then there's Josh Hoey — who went from “Is he actually good?” to world indoor 800m champion all within the past 12 months. A personal highlight was Claire Bryant shocked the field in the long jump. Surprise global medals all around — the kind that make the sport so damn fun.Hosts: Chris Chavez | @chris_j_chavez on Instagram + Preet Majithia | @preetmajithia on InstagramSUPPORT OUR SPONSORSKETONE-IQ: Level up your training with Ketone-IQ – a clean shot of energy with no sugar or caffeine. In this episode, host David Altrogge (@daltrogge) sits down with documentarian Brennan Robideaux to discuss his debut feature BORN TO FLY about Olympic Gold Medalist Mondo Duplantis. Brennan's journey is truly epic. Despite facing financial struggles and industry skepticism, he pursued his no-budget passion through four years of filming and editing, emotional premieres in Sweden and the US, and eventually landing a deal with Red Bull Studios. His story highlights the importance of perseverance, dedication, and the emotional rewards that define success in documentary filmmaking. A special thanks to Caleb J. Keely Hodgkinson has her Olympic Gold. The pre-race favourite delivered under pressure with a commanding front-running performance to secure an elusive global title. We discuss the race pattern that delivered the gold with big margins behind, and explain why it suggests a lot more to come from Hodgkinson. Beatrice Chebet outclassed Faith Kipyegon in the women's 5000m, in a race marred by a clash between Kipyegon and another pre-race favourites, Gudaf Tsegay. Mondo DuPlantis did Mondo things, winning relatively comfortably and then ticking off an Olympic record followed by another World Record in the Pole Vault. We dissect those performances, and wrap up the Artistic Gymnastics where falls and drama were the order of the day, as well as Gareth's new found Olympic love, Canoe Slalom Cross.Join DiscourseIf you're enjoying of Paris Daily podcasts, and generally love sports science, consider a small donation to become a Patron of the site, and get access to our Discourse community, where you can join like-minded fans and sports enthusiasts to keep the conversation going. With nearly 50 years of experience coaching high-level athletes, including Olympic Silver Medalist Raven Saunders, you would be hard-pressed to find someone more knowledgeable than Coach Herbert Johnson. I'm incredibly grateful that he graced us with his presence to help me break down some of the marquee events of the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris!  We start things off with the Women's 100m. American Sha'Carri Richardson looks to cap off an incredible comeback story by bringing home the Gold. But, as always, the Jamaicans have something to say about that. We discuss the differences between Richardson and Shericka Jackson's skillsets plus the odds of sprint legend Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce to once again find the podium. The Men's 100m has its own USA-Jamaica rivalry. Noah Lyles is one of the most polarizing figures in the sport, but also one of the most talented. Can Jamaicans Kishane Thompson and Oblique Seville silence him? Or will Italy's Lamont Jacobs show the world once again why he's the reigning 100m Gold Medalist? Coach Johnson also talks about how the physiology of sprinters has changed over time.  Then, we move on to discussing the potential of world records falling. Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone's lowered her own 400m hurdle world record at the US Olympic Trials. Can she do it again? Or will Femke Bol prove that Sydney has more to compete against than just the clock? Also, Sweden's Mondo Duplantis is the king of the Pole Vault. Coach explains what makes him so great and what has to happen for him to once again set a world record.  We finish up with the Women's Shot Put! Coach Johnson discovered Raven Saunders as a high school freshman at Burke High School in Charleston, SC. As their coach, he helped guide Raven to the National High School record in the Shot Put. They have once again teamed up heading into this Olympic Games as they look to recreate that magic. Coach Johnson talks about why Raven is his favorite to bring home the Gold but also breaks down why the other athletes will make it a tall task. We also have a conversation about his coaching philosophy, including his years coaching me!
