Julie Jancius is spending time with us today as we talk about all things Angels and how we connect with our own angels. Having been an angel reader even before this all got mainstream, Julie describes her journey as like creating a pathway yet blindly walking where Spirit tells you to go. She didn't actually realize how much the angels were working with her until she started going through her energy healing training. Despite everything she was being taught, she just couldn't do it. And she just started talking and telling people what was coming through. As teachers, we need to honor that everybody does this differently and that we're all led to the teacher that we're supposed to be with so we can learn the lessons we need to learn. And oftentimes, the lessons we're learning are the kind of growth we need to have on a personal level. Hence, as teachers, we need to work on our personal growth first because if you're opening yourself to spiritual work, all of the triggers and lessons you need to learn are definitely going to come up. We have to do things the way we feel we're called to do and work with who we feel called to. Here's a little background about Julie: Wife to Blake and mama to their beautiful daughter and two fur babies, Julie has been talking to Angels her whole life. Since elementary school, she knew she wanted to work for God. Her soul purpose is to teach, spread hope and help you get you back on your path, and stop living from the vibrations of sadness, fear, loneliness, anxiety or stress. Julie is passionate about teaching people how to live from the vibrations of love, joy, peace, bliss, ease and grace – she calls it living in Oneness. Don't take her word for it. Instead, experience what it's like to live in Oneness, which is the highest vibration for yourself. In this episode, you will hear : Julie's experience of the Oneness energy How Julie's readings look like Keeping your readings in the highest integrity The biggest struggle within the spiritual community Why work on your personal growth first and cross different lines in your spiritual work The process of dropping fear Julie's definition of angels The role of Archangel Michael and cherubs holding the Oneness energy How angels work with us Having a support system to help us go to where Spirit wants us to go Why we shouldn't be putting a hierarchy on our gifts Supporting Resources: Website: www.theangelmedium.com Instagram: instagram.com/angelpodcast/ Facebook Group: facebook.com/groups/angelpodcast TikTok: @angelpodcast Facebook Page: facebook.com/angelpodcast Upcoming Mentorship offerings with Hope: Start Your Spiritual Business Available Now Beginner Mediumship Self Study Course Available Now 2 day in-person beginner mediumship mastery intensive workshop called Journey with Spirit Retreat and will be held October 16th and 17th in Ocean City, MD. This episode is for the “figure it out people.” The ones who don't need to be told what to do in order to make some really great things happen. I know from experience that when you work as an Executive Assistant, you can be asked to help your Executive with almost everything. Planning a funeral, catching and relocating a groundhog, or revising an itinerary when a lunch and a flight conflict. How do you make it work? Well, you figure it out. Today, I want to talk about why as a Leader it's OK and important to want to work with people who are capable of “figuring it out.” In today's episode you'll hear: - Why as a Leader it's OK and important to want to work with people who are capable of “figuring it out.” - How your team can exceed your expectations when you don't solve problems for them. - Why not everything is fair game to ask of your assistant -- boundaries are important! - How to empower your team to make decisions on your behalf, while allowing mistakes to happen. The Employee Retention Credit is a new credit that came out of the CARES act. The federal government put it in place to try to keep employees employed. They are giving employers money back to ensure this. The credit is basically a refund of the Social Security and Medicare taxes you have paid on your employees' wages. The idea behind the credit is to defer your payroll taxes. By the time the taxes are due, you will have this credit so you potentially won't owe them. However, as with everything in the CARES act, things are constantly changing. Today, we discuss how the ERC works, which types of businesses can take advantage of it, and the new changes that have been implemented in 2021. In this episode, you will hear: Businesses that qualify for ERC $5,000 credit cap in the entire 2020 $7,000 credit cap per quarter in 2021 How to apply for the ERC and how it gets credited Subscribe and Review Have you subscribed to our podcast? I met Brock around 2012 at the very beginning of my bodybuilding years. I've known him as a humble yet well-informed trainer who is constantly keeping himself up to date with his knowledge in the industry. Having witnessed his own personal transformation in mind, body, and soul over the years, Brock focuses on true personal development, hard work, and building a long-lasting community within his business. It has grown so much that he now has several amazing employees who have the same level of energy and commitment that he has. Today, Brock talks about the power of training for longevity. That being said, you also need to be able to hold space for people so you can relate to them and for transformation to happen not only on a physical level, but also, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. One of the takeaways Brock shares in this interview is that action precedes motivation. If you're waiting for motivation, it might never come. And so, you need to do the thing first. Then once you do it, you actually feel more motivated to do the thing again and again. You just have to take that first step. More About Brock Brock Waluk grew up in the athletic world his whole life, participating in football, track, wrestling, and boxing. After graduating High School, Brock attended the Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania to pursue a degree in Sports Medicine. Do you wonder why you're still struggling to manifest what you want no matter how many books or courses you've consumed? In today's episode, Michelle J Lamont shares three manifesting myths you need to debunk so you can get moving to the life of your dreams. Through her amazing story of strength and challenges, Michelle teaches us why people get stuck in the manifestation process and how it's truly possible to manifest miracles. From orphanage to Oprah to omnipresent, influential entrepreneur and manifestation guru, Michelle J. Lamont is expanding and amplifying her mindfulness message to help you truly manifest everything you desire – and do it quicker than most believe you can. Michelle's success didn't come easy initially but once she decided to become a manifesting manifestor, as God wants all of us to be, everything else followed. Developing a relentless spirit and an unwavering belief that she can pray, dream and speak intentions into realities, Michelle survived a bank account of only $250, a clunker of a car and endless nights waiting tables and rolling frozen Domino's pizza dough. Michelle is an alchemist in her own way – turning her suffering into pure magic. A testament to the power of her positivity, Michelle launched her first business at age 8 despite growing up in an orphanage. Eventually, she opened the dog-centric Foxy Paws and transformed it into a million-dollar company with 40 employees. She also hosts her popular podcast – Manifesting Miracles – to help each one of us dig deep and learn to follow through on our intentions. With a unique combination of uncanny news judgment and savvy business sense, Lamont later launched her own public relations company and connected her clients with high-profile partnerships on TV networks such as Bravo, WE, Style and Aspire. These days, Michelle is a successful, full-time podcaster, motivational speaker, life coach, mindfulness expert and manifestation guru. Her podcast debuted in October 2020 as one of the Top 100 downloaded shows in the spiritual/self-help genre and now has more than 22,000 subscribers. Michelle has been featured on numerous TV networks, interviewed Oprah Winfrey, was named DFW Women's “Influence” award winner. In this episode, Chris Mahler CPA joins us as we take a deep dive into what your tax pro needs to know for tax planning. We specifically touch on two parts. The first is the difference between tax planning and tax compliance. The second is the difference between basic planning and advanced planning. We want to reimagine entrepreneurial success and keep it simple, practical, and powerful. Although tax isn't always practical, the practical part is being able to have a better understanding of what needs to be done as well as when and how it needs to be done. There's a big difference between just thinking you're doing something for the IRS and figuring out what you need to know so you pay the least taxes as legally possible. With that being said, you need to become a planner. It's not just on your tax pro to be the planner. Ultimately, tax is a service, not an event. It's a year-long process, not just a one-time event. If you can get your mindset shifted around that, it could really change the game and the results. In this episode, you will hear: The difference between tax planning and tax compliance Types of information a tax pro would need from you Picking a partner, not just a tax professional Basic planning vs. advanced planning What our process looks like at The Bottom Line CPA Why you need to report your charitable contributions Subscribe and Review Have you subscribed to our podcast? Mediumship takes time to develop. It's a beautiful craft because, as mediums, we all channel differently. Everyone's journey is unique. My journey is unique as much as our guest's journey today is too. But you have to be willing to put in the time, to trust, and to bring yourself to safe surrender. And sometimes, when you feel scared or doubtful about taking on this special gift, Spirit comes on full-force. Debbie Squizzero is a Psychic Medium and her purpose is to connect people with their deceased loved ones as well as provide them with guidance, clarity or insight they're seeking. She strives to deliver accurate, healing and loving information during each session to empower people who may be struggling with daily life issues or grief. By teaching them about death and their own energy and intuition, Debbie is able to leave her clients with a sense of ease, peace, closure, or healing. Debbie started seeing and experiencing Spirit around the age of 6 when she would notice white shadowy figures which she now knows as beautiful, deceased souls. She had also always experienced very vivid dreams of deceased loved ones, had an imaginary friend when she was young, and felt that someone was watching over her or someone was around her. As she got older, people would come to her for advice, not realizing earlier on that the advice she was giving them was being channeled to her from a Higher Source. It wasn't until other mediums told her that she has a gift to connect with Spirit that she decided to develop her skills as a medium so she can help other people. Recognizing that a part of her life's purpose was to serve Spirit, she was also aligning herself to who she is and she would become in the process – a person who continues to evolve and develop every single day. In this episode, you will hear : Her transition into full-time mediumship Having safe surrender and trust that we/re going to be taken care of as mediums How fitness and nutrition helped Debbie with her work in Spirit The importance of rest so we can be at our best to channel for Spirit How your health is connected to your intuitive self Changing things by just taking baby steps The benefits of being healthy in other aspects of life How underlying traumas are still stored in our physical DNA The beauty of having a daily gratitude practice Realizing the power of your breath Supporting Resources: Website: https://www.debbiesquizzero.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/DebbieSquizzeroPsychicMedium/ IG: https://www.instagram.com/debbie_squizzero_medium/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_eLTqWxDeo5V7_gsW-QG2A/featured Upcoming Mentorship offerings with Hope: Start Your Spiritual Business Available Now Beginner Mediumship Self Study Course Available Now 8 Week Intermediate Mediumship Mentorship - Enrollment Open Now https://hopetaylormedium.mykajabi.com/ 2 day in-person beginner mediumship mastery intensive workshop called Journey with Spirit Retreat and will be held October 16th and 17th in Ocean City, MD. Over the years, we have seen how the way we're setting and achieving our goals has evolved. A huge part of our growth and traction is the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) that we've implemented in our business. When we first started out, we had short-term goals such as getting the blogpost or newsletter done or sending out emails once a week. Back in August 2020, we decided to be an EOS company. One year later, we have seen the tremendous impact it has had on our business. It has been life-changing not only for our business but for our team members as well. It has called us higher in the way we show up in the business and relate to each other and our clients. Indeed, it has been one of the best decisions we've ever made. With the introduction of EOS, our goals became more clear. When you have that clarity, you start seeing which things align and which don't. Then your goals start getting bigger and bigger. Ultimately, there is no perfect start when setting and achieving goals. However, the more you do it, the better you get at setting goals. It's a process and it only works when you work it. In this episode, you will hear: How our goal setting has evolved over the years The impact EOS has made in our business The benefits of EOS milestones Getting the right people in the right seats Achieving our goal to run a mini-workshop Subscribe and Review Have you subscribed to our podcast? What if you knew your life path that could guide you along your own journey and help you live your purpose on this earth? Today, Molly shares about her journey through mediumship and her love of numerology and intuitive guidance. Molly is a psychic medium and intuitive coach. She is passionate about helping people step into their authentic selves and discover their intuition. Molly believes that our intuition is the most natural part of ourselves, and when we learn to work with and trust it, it never steers us wrong. Molly also talks about her struggles at a young age, dealing with mental health issues, until she finally decided she can't keep doing it anymore and saw a therapist who eventually taught her about mediumship. Her depression caused her to shut down so she had to learn how to create her boundaries. But in order to do that, she had to feel the feelings she had been avoiding for so many years. In addition to traditional psychic readings, Molly offers coaching sessions for anyone who wants to release trauma and shame and learn how to work with their intuition. In this episode, you will hear : A look into Molly's growing up years How she got into mediumship The impact of depression on Molly Learning to deal with her mental health issues intuitively The spiritual bypass that happens within the spiritual community How to determine your life path number and what it means Attracting the frequency that matches you How to determine your personality number Asking your spirit guides for a symbol Supporting Resources: Website: https://www.mollythemedium.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mollythemedium/?hl=en TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@mollythemedium?lang=en Upcoming Mentorship offerings with Hope: Start Your Spiritual Business Available Now Beginner Mediumship Self Study Course Available Now 8 Week Intermediate Mediumship Mentorship - Enrollment Open Now https://hopetaylormedium.mykajabi.com/ 2 day in-person beginner mediumship mastery intensive workshop called Journey with Spirit Retreat and will be held October 16th and 17th in Ocean City, MD. As some of you may or may not know, shortly after the podcast launched, I was experiencing a bit of a health crisis and had a long journey with covid pneumonia. I am incredibly grateful to feel better and to know that I am on the mend to a full recovery. I learned so much over the last 8 months of this process that I wanted to share it with others. There is so much information out there and everybody's journey is personal and unique. In sharing my story, my hope is to empower others to advocate for themselves and to learn the power of staying connected to yourself and loving yourself through this process without fear. We will cover many of the hardships, but also the immense blessings as I navigated one of the toughest times in my life. In this episode, you will hear: · How close I was to the spirit realm during the worst of my illness and why · What happens when you feel disembodied versus embodied · What major trauma I uncovered and processed · How the subconscious mind was replaying trauma patterns in my current life · How the mind connects to the immune system · Natural healing techniques I used when I ditched the prescriptions · The importance of breath work and breathing intentionally · How everything is working for our highest and best Supporting Resources: Article Referenced: https://www.webmd.com/lung/news/20210112/research-reveals-why-covid-pneumonia-is-more-deadly Book References: Heal Your Body: Hay, Louise: 8601200435702 https://www.amazon.com/Breath-New-Science-Lost-Art/dp/0735213615 https://www.amazon.com/Evolve-Your-Brain-Science-Changing/dp/0757307655 Upcoming Mentorship offerings with Hope: • Start Your Spiritual Business Available Now • Beginner Mediumship Self Study Course Available Now • 8 Week Intermediate Mediumship Mentorship - Enrollment Open Now https://hopetaylormedium.mykajabi.com/ To enter the monthly giveaway, send a screenshot of your new podcast review on apple podcast or google my business and send it to info@hopetaylormedium.com and we will announce a winner in August. In this episode, we dive into pricing. Not all sales are created equal. There are several reasons that that happens. One of those reasons is that every decision is a profit decision where profit is measured in time, energy, and money. Therefore, when we sell something, it requires time, energy, and money. Now, if you have good money but it robs you of your time and energy, that's not a good pricing model. Additionally, if you have time to pull it off but it's not profitable, that's not an ideal pricing model either. You should evaluate your products and your processing as often as is necessary to get you to where you want to go. You can't just price something today and hope it's going to keep working at that price forever. Otherwise, your profitability will go down. As certified Profit First professionals, we have found a very simple, practical, and powerful way of figuring out pricing. Now, there are going to be factors within your control and factors outside of your control. You want to limit the outside factors creating havoc on the inside and for that you need margin. This can be found in profit, time, and energy. Welcome to week five of our six-week where we are bringing you our top downloaded episodes. If you are new to the podcast and haven't had the chance to catch up, you are in the right place. This episode is all about relationships. Over the course of my life, I had to seriously master the understanding of this concept that I'm about to share with you. I've had to work on healing generational trauma and as you can imagine, it's not an easy task. Relationships with others – whether it be our partners, family, in career, and friendships, old and new – are so freakin' powerful. What they tend to do is show us all the ways we need to heal ourselves. These lessons come in many shapes and sizes depending on what your soul came here to do. You may have had similar conversations, situations, and experiences like the ones I will share with you. Our primary purpose on earth is to grow on a soul level and how we do that is up to us with the execution of our own free will. We all want to see only the best of our family members. We all only want them to see the best in us and what they want for us. However, it's important we also learn to set healthy boundaries so we can create our own space and tap into what soul lessons and purpose we have here instead of meeting the expectations of others. Ultimately, through living an awakened life, you can find your truth and use that to become a better version of yourself and help others to do the same. In this episode, you will hear : Our emotions and reactions as healthy indicators of alignment Our perceptions of certain situations and people are only as clear as the filter Letting go of the painful experiences, your traumas, and wounds that you still hold onto Why healing generational trauma is such a big deal Allowing different relationships to truly show you what needs to be healed Examining the triggers Upcoming Mentorship offerings with Hope: Start Your Spiritual Business Available Now Beginner Mediumship Self Study Course Available Now 8 Week Beginner and Intermediate Mediumship Mentorship - Enrollment Open Now: https://hopetaylormedium.mykajabi.com/ To enter the monthly giveaway send a screenshot of your new podcast review on apple podcast or google my business and send it to info@hopetaylormedium.com and we will announce a winner in August. It was a true moment of trust and surrender to realign with what felt like was to live a life completely heart led and full of purpose. There were just too many signs to stay where I was. I believe that they had intentions of love, but they were also on their own journey of deep healing. Those that harmed me, were victims of abuse who went through their own traumas that were not addressed and not healed. Through this beautiful journey of personal healing and transformation, I have developed a close connection with my spirit team. This all happened at an early age. I had no idea how important this connection was at the time and even though I let it guide me I never really talked about it until my uncle's passing in 2015. Although the loss of Uncle Charlie was tragic it was a spiritual catalyst in my journey to heal and stay connected with him. Since then, I have fully embraced it and stayed committed to my personal and spiritual development in efforts to heal and to help people connect with their own loved ones and development. In this episode, you will hear: My first physical and spiritual memory when I was 3 years old Experiencing abuse from my mother and father How my past traumas allowed me to have a good read on people Holding on to the best parts of our family or the people we love When you stop loving yourself as an abused child Having a mental breakdown at 17 and how I finally found the courage How I found the name Hope Upcoming Mentorship offerings with Hope: · Start Your Spiritual Business Available Now · Beginner Mediumship Self Study Course Available Now · 8 Week Beginner and Intermediate Mediumship Mentorship - Enrollment Open Now https://hopetaylormedium.mykajabi.com/ Subscribe and Review Have you subscribed to our podcast? The pandemic is not over. Even in this post-pandemic world, small businesses are still feeling the impact of it. In order to help alleviate the pains of many small businesses, the government created the Paycheck Protection Program. But there are deadlines associated with it as well. In this episode, we're going to dive into Paycheck Protection Program Deadlines (June 2021 edition) and what people need to know about it if they've not yet walked through forgiveness. There's a big deadline coming up for paycheck protection forgiveness and the forgiveness aspect of this program is what has made it incredibly attractive for small business owners in particular. If you don't get it forgiven, it basically turns into a loan. This was everyone's fear when it initially rolled out. Therefore, it's important to know what those deadline dates are. So don't miss this opportunity and tune in now. In this episode, you will hear: What is the Paycheck Protection Program? In 2020, Chris and Melissa Smith started the podcast and website Family Brand, to help families figure out what they want to stand for and be remembered by. Having a family brand is a way to strengthen your family. Since then, they've taken dozens of families through their training that helps families identify core values they want to create a family brand around, and how to make their family brand not just inspirational but transformational. Today, Chris and Melissa sit down with Neil and me to give us a crash course and a mini family brand session by asking questions you can use too to get your family brand started. In this episode, you will hear: Twelve years ago, Chris and Melissa almost got divorced. Then she read a statistic saying that 87% of couples considering divorce who decide to work it out are happy five years later. Since then, they focused on building back their marriage. Oftentimes as entrepreneurs and business owners, we are so much more intentional about the brand and the culture of our businesses and our personal brands than we are about the brand and the culture of our home. Families are the backbone of everything. It's no coincidence that the breaking down of a family directly coincides with all kinds of issues in society. So the world needs strong families. In getting started with creating a family brand, here are three questions you can ask yourself and the rest of the family: What do you stand for more than anything? (For us, it's faith and love.) What do you want to be remembered for someday? What makes your family unique? Clarity is usually at the bottom of confrontation. If you're willing to work through confrontation, everything becomes clear. Language is creation. The words you speak in your home create the culture in your home. One of the greatest indicators of a child's future well being and identity is how much they know about their family history and their ancestors. Having family values gives you opportunities to acknowledge whenever there are some things you haven't lived up to. You can live the life you want to live as a family and take a stand for your family. There is so much FREEDOM that comes with delegation. It's an investment, it takes work, but it pays dividends to your mental health and time with family to be able to step away, eat dinner with your kids and know that your business is still OK. The actual act of delegating is often the crux of success for an entrepreneur. It is NOT intuitive and is not something most CEOs are excited to do! Let's be honest, we're control freaks! I say delegation is the crux of success because it is HOW you can create and SUSTAIN massive momentum in your business. It is how you achieve SCALE. This episode is part 3 of the 4 D's of Delegation Mastery: Decide (what to delegate), Document (your process), Delegate (like a master), Detach (empower your team). Make sure you listen to the previous episodes to lay a foundation for what we discuss today! In today's episode you'll hear: - The 4 steps to delegating like a MASTER.- You might think you are OK with delegating...but are you? - How to STOP hovering and micromanaging and start TRUSTING.- Why we advocate for outsourcing OUTCOMES not tasks.- How to effectively use the 6 levels of delegation to grow an EMPOWERED team. This week, I was asked to teach a lesson to the young women in my church congregation (ages 11-18) about pornography – specifically, “how can I resist pornography.” I knew that this topic could potentially impact so many of the teenage girls listening, and I felt a huge weight of responsibility to prepare well and most of all, plead with the Lord to have the spirit with me and that He would direct me in what to teach and how to teach this effectively. Today, I'm sharing what I taught in my lesson to these teenage girls about truth versus lies when it comes to pornography. Whether it's “normal” or “a good place to learn,” – Spoiler alert: these are all lies Satan wants us to believe, and how to resist these temptations. We also talked about the best ways to arm ourselves against these temptations and if any of them find themselves struggling with an addiction to pornography, where to turn and how to find help. Neil joins me in this podcast episode as he adds his thoughts, advice and testimony of hope and healing from pornography addiction through the atonement of Jesus Christ. If you have a teenager that you need to talk to about pornography, or if you have a teenager that you want to pass this along to, or if you ever have a situation where you need to teach a group of youth about this or even just for yourself, it's hopefully going to be helpful information. In this episode, you will hear: There's a lot of truth out there and there are also a lot of lies. And Satan is the father of all lies. He's so tricky, sneaky and so good at what he does by confusing everything Heavenly Father wants for us. Your sexuality is a gift from Heavenly Father. The fact that you have attraction to other people, and you have curiosity and feelings within your body – these are all gifts from our Heavenly Father and it doesn't make you a bad person. Every single person exists because two people were attracted to each other and had sex. But with every gift that Heavenly Father gives us, Satan loves to come up with a counterfeit. He loves to confuse the plan and the gifts that heavenly Father gives to us. Satan has power over people. It's not as great as God's power, but it's powerful that you can be sucked into and it all happens to all of us sometimes. The “For the Strength of Youth” pamphlet contains a list of rules and guidelines that teach young children about relationships, friendships, the music they listen to, and all kinds of things. Everyone within our faith should be taking these standards seriously. One of the things listed in the pamphlet is on sexual purity. Don't arouse those feelings within yourself and don't participate in pornography. Pornography, in all forms, is especially dangerous and addictive. What may begin as an unexpected exposure or a curious exploration can become a destructive habit. Based on science, pornography changes your brain and affects your brain like a drug. It will negatively impact love and intimacy, normalizes objectification and fuels sex trafficking. Kids and teenagers now are living in a completely different generation. And if you hang out with a group of people long enough who are doing something, you're going to end up doing it too. Sexting is also pornography. If you send those, you could be in trouble with the law, and whoever's receiving those could go to jail for that. If you're struggling with temptation, give yourself even further boundaries. Make sure you're not in places or putting yourself in positions where it's going to catch you and find you easier. The internal filter is the best filter. Having that internal filter driven by the Spirit, because you're inviting the spirit into your life is the one that's going to work the very best. If you keep the commandments, God will nourish you, strengthen you and provide the means that you need. So you have to do some of the work. Show up and read your scriptures, pray, and nourish your spirituality. Pornography is a coping mechanism where you try to escape, numb, run, or not feel the painful aspects of life – stress, rejection, pain, inadequacy, boredom. In today's episode, I am going to teach you how to delegate through DOCUMENTING your processes. Documentation and delegation are how you set your business up to scale. Why is documenting each process so important? Because most tasks in your business are repeatable processes. Documentation also ensures that repeatable processes are done the same way every time. This episode is part 2 of the 4 D's of Delegation Mastery: Decide (what to delegate), Document (your process), Delegate (like a master), Detach (empower your team). Make sure you listen to last week's episode if you need a refresher on how to decide what to delegate. It will set the foundation for what we discuss today. In today's episode you'll hear: - 3 steps for documenting your processes- The importance of creating an ORGANIZED place to store your work- The difference between a SYSTEM and a template- How to DOCUMENT with efficiency and clarity- Why you also need to document your PERSONAL preferences to create an Executive Database Subscribe and Review Have you subscribed to my podcast? Almost 10 years ago, Katie Parker founded Singers Company, a place where little girls can sing, dance, and act in a wholesome environment while building confidence and performance skills. Katie recognized the staggering statistics of declining teen confidence and self-worth that were plaguing our nation, so she decided to start the I Believe in Me project, an online-based program for girls 11 years of age and older. The program offers weekly short videos that provide guidance and encouragement in many areas including friendship, school, goals/dreams, social media, beauty, hair, discovering/pursuing talents, creating healthy habits, fashion and so much more! The adventures in I Believe In Me help each girl create and establish her own "garden" of life experiences and accomplishments – what "flowers" does she want to plant? – and what "weeds" does she need to keep out? This week, I sit down with the 3 amazing women who host I Believe in Me – Katie Parker, Allie Callister and Becky Fife, to talk about some of the most important issues 11-year-old girls face through their teenage years, what their advice is in many different scenarios, and how to tackle some of the trickiest things about being a teen or tween with grace and confidence. Especially if you have an 11-year-old girl, just remember that every single flower is beautiful in its own unique and special way. And if they can hold on to that and know that they don't need to change who they are for someone else, or to fit into a different group or to be accepted by somebody else – they are perfect just the way they are. In this episode, you will hear: Allie's biggest strength in life is I can laugh my way through most situations, and just be light and carefree. I Believe In Me is a positive happy girls club. So each week, she'll log into her private site. Their platform is private and each week, there's a new "planting the seeds" episode. Their whole program has a garden theme because they believe every girl is a unique individual with gifts to share in this world. One of their mantras is: you are a girl with gifts to grow and share. And in your garden of life and in the garden of the world, we need all different types of flowers, not just all the same. Planting the seeds: We need different sizes and shapes and different strengths and weaknesses in this garden of the world. That's the beauty of the world. There's a new episode each week. Once they've completed that entire episode, a couple of other sections will open up. I Believe In Me has three different levels of membership: Root, Grow, and Bloom. The 11 to 12-year-old group of girls and middle school are so hard because there are a lot of things going on. Your body is changing, your friends are starting to change, and sometimes it surprises you. And so you start to question “Who am I?” Sometimes friends need boundaries, and you need to set your boundaries so that you can also protect your heart if things are said. In middle school, these girls are learning who they are and how to navigate among each other. They have a lot of insecurities which can end up hurting other people if you don't know how to handle them. Middle school doesn't have to be scary. That's why this program is giving these girls the tools they need so their experience can be fun! One of their tools is to turn worry into work. Instead of worrying about something that you don't have control over, look at what you can do. You're not improving your social skills by talking to a screen. You will only improve those skills by talking face to face with someone. It's okay to be hurt. But know that you have the power to decide how you feel and how it's going to affect you. . Do you feel called to step up your game and turn your hobby into something you could offer as a product or service to the outside world? And like many of us who once started, you probably don't know where to start. There are a lot of moving pieces when it comes to building a mediumship business. Things can get easily overwhelming – talk about building a website, how to handle your taxes, what services to offer, how to price them, not to mention the legal side of things. When I started this mediumship business, it was only because I felt I needed to do it as part of the promise I made my uncle when he was passing – to live with my heart wide open and to give this gift of connection so people can bridge the gap and feel the love from the other side. That way, they know they're not walking this earth without them because the spiritual world is right here. And so, I have poured my 20 plus years of business background into this mediumship world and it has turned into this six-figure business which I've been running for almost six years now. There's a reason why this foundation has worked for me and has worked for others. And I also know there's a divine reason why I was even called to bring this to you. You probably don't need all of the bells and whistles because you're not there yet. And so, even if you're still at a "hobby level" right now but you can see yourself pivoting into a mediumship business in the future, or maybe you're now at the point where you're ready to take yourself to the next level, then be sure to listen to this episode! Do you have any regrets in life? Have you ever asked yourself this, or the people you love? This is a great topic that a lot of people may or may not have even thought about. But it's something that probably most people will have to deal with at some point in their life. Today, Neil and I share candidly our regrets in life, and what we've learned from them. Nonetheless, God has just poured out all these blessings on us because we've been willing to just let him take over. He has given us this life that's a million times more beautiful than what we could have ever planned or hoped for. We also share the top 3 most common things people regret before they die as well as 3 resolutions you can make today that will help you avoid some of the deepest regrets in life. We challenge you to make those three resolutions, and if we can just make that conscious choice to live life the way God exactly wants us to live, then we will be able to find more joy in life. In this episode, you will hear: Neil's regret is missing out on the opportunities that he could have had and mine was wasting Miss Utah and not serving a mission because I didn't live up to my potential. When my ex-husband and I were dating and getting close to marriage, I felt a strong prompting not to marry him. Opposite of that voice of warning, I've also had so many times where the Spirit has told me exactly how God wants me to live my life. We don't get to redo childhood. I regretted not connecting well with my sister as we were growing up. I thought I wasted years of what could have been great childhood memories. (Although I have a super great relationship with her now!) Neil's two full brothers, Steve and Dave, have passed away. Neil talks about the conversation he had with his brother Steve, six months before he died when he asked Neil to never do drugs, alcohol, and smoke. The 3 most common things people regret before they die: not spending time with people they love (or maybe they could have spent it differently), not living up to their potential, and spending so much of their life being miserable. "The joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances of our lives and everything to do with the focus of our lives." - Russell M. Nelson God put us on this earth to have joy and to be happy. And we all have our peaks and valleys, but when we put our focus on the right things, those bring joy in our lives. The 3 resolutions to help avoid some of the deepest regrets of life: resolve to spend more time with those you love, strive more earnestly to become the person God wants you to be, and resolve to find happiness regardless of your circumstances. Scott O'Neil is the CEO of Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment, a global sports, and entertainment company that includes some of the most iconic teams and brands in the world, including the NBA Philadelphia 76ers and the NHL New Jersey Devils. He’s also the former President of Madison Square Garden Sports. Scott is known for his leadership and ability to establish culture that changes lives. He wrote a book that releases this week called Be Where Your Feet Are – a mantra he lives by and teaches everywhere he goes. In today’s interview, Scott shares with me his theories on balance, being present, priorities, and making the most important connections in life. I could not put Scott’s book down as soon as I started reading it, and this interview was way too short to cover everything I was dying to ask him, so I hope you’ll not only enjoy this incredibly inspiring chat but also buy his book that releases on June 1: Be Where Your Feet Are. In this episode, you will hear: The definition of success is different for everyone and you have to figure out what it means to you. Life is not about balance but trade-offs. You can accomplish anything you want as long as you're willing to understand what the trade offs are because we have a limited amount of time. You need to be where your feet are and be present where you are. The phone out of reach rule is something you can do at home or at work where everyone can't have it within arm's reach so you can focus more on human connection. Scott’s five-point plan for health and wellness that you need to do every day: Do something for your mind, something for your body, something for your soul, sleep, and gratitude. Take care of the person in the mirror first then you have an opportunity to care for your family. And if you take care of your family, you have an opportunity to be extraordinary at whatever your success goals are. The power of mantra: You can manipulate your conscious and subconscious by speaking. Speak it into existence. You can train yourself to do good things and be better and be good and set some aspirational levels for yourself. The Leadership Constitution forces you to answer two questions – “I declare that I am…” and “You can count on me to be…” – These are great guideposts to keep you centered. Scott shares his beautiful experience of conversion to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Always assume positive intent (API) and your life will be better. Go through your life giving people the benefit of the doubt and clean the slate. We may question our connection with Spirit, especially when the messages we get are unclear or sometimes the connection has slowed down because we feel so stressed and there’s just too much distraction and mind chatter. Do you feel like you’re a square peg in a round hole as an entrepreneur? Many times, we think we have to get it all figured out right away. Then, we think we have to stay exactly the same as who we were the day we started. If our business doesn't look like it was supposed to look when we set out to start it, we view that as a failure. In today’s episode, Katie Chase shares how her entrepreneurial journey revealed to her where her strength truly lies. Just because you start somewhere doesn't mean that’s where you have to end. It’s not a failure if you eventually realize that the business you've been building is not the business you should be working in. If you, too, feel that way in your business, then it's probably time to do a heart check and let Katie’s story inspire you. In this episode, you will hear: Katie’s origin story from motherhood to entrepreneurship. Her entrepreneurial journey and what she discovered along the way. Katie’s financial journey and her ProfitHero experience. Why make a financial investment in yourself and your business? Her role now as an Integrator. Today, Neil and I are sharing some thoughts and ideas on how to make your home a safe haven from the craziness of the world. We talk about this concept of our homes being a holy place as well as our responsibility to make our home special. We’re sharing some of the things we loved from the homes we grew up in, and some of the traditions we’ve started in our own little family. It’s never too late to start incorporating these family traditions into your home as well – creating lasting memories, providing grounding experience, and bringing a good, happy spirit into your home. We also reflect back on some of the things we learned through COVID and what we’re continually trying to do to make our home a safe and peaceful place. And when we strive to do that in our house amid the craziness and imperfection of it, God does something miraculous. In this episode, you will hear: When the Lord warns us about the perils of the last days, he counsels us. As our ability to gather in churches has been restricted to varying degrees, one of the holiest places on earth is the home. Part of making our home as a holy place is by using our living room as our home church. Being able to have the Sacrament(of bread and water) in your home is specifically tied to Jesus Christ and it makes it more powerful and special. The present restrictions on gathering will eventually end. However, your commitment to make your home your primary sanctuary of faith should never end. Decorate your home in a way that feels peaceful, you’re drawing the Spirit in, and it really feels like home. Pictures also help make kids feel secure, solidifies memories for them, and makes them feel like they belong, and they are part of something. Having a picture of Christ in your home has a grounding effect, you're more spiritually connected, and it changes the feel in your house. Food such as Sunday dinners and other family traditions make lasting memories. They make people feel secure and like they're part of something. Praying as a family solidifies the unity, spiritually speaking, as well as family scripture study. Another way to turn your home into a safe sanctuary is by working on your personal growth and overcoming character weaknesses. Make people in your home feel loved. Mark Mabry is the photographer and creator behind the beautiful photos portraying Jesus Christ in the art collection called Reflections of Christ, which has been so transformative and a huge piece of not just art in our home, but a piece of my testimony that’s so powerful to me and my family. Mark also has an Instagram account, @reflectionsofchrist, where he shares thoughts about the Savior, insights, and inspiration behind the shots he created. I was so curious to know more of the back-story behind what made him want to pursue this work. Today, Mark shares with me some incredibly inspiring stories about change, being willing to listen to God's direction, and little miracles that have happened as he's created Reflections of Christ. Mark wants to leave everyone today with this inspiring message that all of us have this glimmer of hope because hope is what keeps us alive. There's this little tiny light inside of us. Sometimes, it may feel like it's not even there. But when you dig down deeper, you can find hope that’s planted in us by God's loving son. Through the power of Christ, everything can be just, and bad things can turn good really fast once we acknowledge that the source of our hope is in Jesus. In this episode, you will hear: Mark originally created the Reflections of Christ exhibit as a part of an Easter pageant in their town. It sort of opened the floodgates for him because it became a massive hit. But shortly after, his past popped up – a sexy ad with him as the photographer got released. A lot of times, we feel like everyone's eyes are on our mistakes or character defects when they're really not paying attention because they’re also worried about their own character defects and whatever's going on in their life. There are so many great resources out there for people who struggle with addiction, but if we didn't need a Savior, then we could just go pay for some other resource to fix our problems. Jesus is the only one who can wholly, perfectly, and completely heal people. He finds broken people who weren't even looking for him. He saves us, loves us, and makes us whole. Self-forgiveness is so hard. We think we can never rise above it. But you can rise above it, and you can be stronger than you were before you had the addiction. Mark gives us a behind-the-scenes look at the Reflections of Christ. He wasn't worried about the technical aspect of it, but focused on the actor portraying Jesus Christ. He was intentional about having the presence of the Holy Spirit there. When he called the actor to ask him to do the part of the new Jesus, he listed all the stuff he had done in his life that would not qualify him to play Jesus. It was the same man who was moved by Mark’s exhibit 18 years ago and decided to change his life. Mark realized that everybody showed this other element of Jesus, not just the actors who portrayed Jesus. Mark did depictions of Christ that are black. But he chose the actor not because he's a person of color, but because he was the right person to tell the story of Jesus getting up out of the grave. May is mental health awareness month and it’s also been exactly a year since we had our fourth baby, Harry. And we felt like this would be the perfect time to finally openly talk about everything I experienced last year during a very intense period of postpartum depression. Having experienced postpartum depression with my first child and with Harry, I was able to compare both experiences – and this latest one being a lot more different. I had intense feelings of fear and anxiety. I had extremely low energy and I was feeling super sad and depressed for no reason. One of the lessons that I learned from my therapist is that your mental health has to come first, and the baby second. Then everything else comes after that. Through this experience, I have learned things about myself and about others that I would never unlearn. Any time we go through major life challenges, we learn about judgment versus acceptance, understanding, and compassion, especially to oneself. I hope that by sharing these experiences, another mom will not feel so alone, that she’ll know what some of the signs might be and how things can and will get better. We also talk about having the courage to reach out for help and the things that were helpful to me. If you’re a friend or loved one of someone struggling with postpartum depression, find out what you can do to help too. In this episode, you will hear: I experienced my first postpartum depression with our first child. I really didn’t understand it at that time and I was just crying every day. I took one of the most commonly prescribed medications for postpartum depression with my first child. My crying stopped, but I didn’t feel anything as well. Harry was born on May 8, in the middle of a pandemic. It wasn’t too long when I felt mentally healthy because I had extreme feelings and emotions of hopelessness and overwhelm. Part of my depression would be having these extreme fears – that feeling like your heart drops into your stomach the way a roller coaster would make you feel. I didn’t want to turn into medication with Harry so I started doing physical activities. But I still had zero energy. It was like an out-of-body experience watching myself laying in bed every day. When it got worse, I started feeling shameful about it. The longer it went, the more I was asking what's wrong with me. I felt like I was robbed of my experience to really enjoy Harry. Neil gave me a blessing to get help and have the courage to ask for help. And so I did. My doctor gave me medication and asked me to attend talk therapy. The therapist taught me that I have a very small gas tank. And if I use that up, doing things that other people could help me out doing, I will not have enough room to take care of myself. It was comforting to know that this doesn’t go on forever, it will end and I will be back to myself. If you’ve ever wished you could sit down and have a quick chat with the genius man who wrote the New York Times best-selling book Essentialism and now Effortless too, then you’re in for a real treat. Today Greg McKeown humors me with a few extra minutes of his time to share answers to YOUR questions submitted on Instagram, and a few random questions of mine too. If you’ve read the book Essentialism, there’s a good chance it changed your life as it did mine. You probably went through your life and started eliminating everything that was not essential, and found freedom and joy in living your new life as an essentialist! But what happens when everything left is actually still really important? What now? This is the question Greg McKeown asked himself after writing, speaking on, and teaching Essentialism for several years which led him to write his newest book, Effortless. If you’re wondering how to get yourself out of a rut, how to move onto the next most important thing when it feels like everything is the most important thing, or how to not drown in all of the responsibilities life demands of you, Effortless is going to provide breakthrough clarity for you. I’ve read this book and devoured its contents, and I am so very excited to share with you today my interview with my friend and mentor Greg McKeown on Effortless, a new way to live once you start asking yourself, “what if this could be easy?” In this episode, you will hear: Essentialism is related to the big rocks theory where you put in the big rocks in a container first before putting in the small rocks and the sand so that they would all fit. But if you put in the sand and the small rocks first, before the big rocks, then nothing fits. The big rocks theory is a metaphor of putting your most important relationships first and the projects you feel most pulled towards doing. But what if you have too many big rocks in your life? You can either give up on something essential, or look for an alternative, easier path. Not because you're lazy, but it's a matter of necessity to find a different way to do things. The book, Effortless, is for high performers who feel on the edge of exhaustion. The 3 principles in living an effortless life: being in effortless state, creating effortless action, and effortless results One way of being effortless is by taking something you already enjoy doing, and linking it with something essential to you (ex. dinner with family). Make things easier so you have much more energy to just be together and not have that extra exhaustion on you. When you deal with something important, the challenge is simply asking – what's the effortless way to do this? Everybody is suffering in some way almost all the time. That's why the principles, questions, and practices in Effortless are so essential. There's no situation so hard that a certain way of thinking and operating won't make them harder. Reading the book Effortless allows for emotional unlocking, mental unlocking, and mental paradigm shifts. It doesn’t mean you're not going to put in any effort anymore, but you're doing a whole different way of utilizing that precious effort. We often have a grudge to fulfill an emotional need that is not currently being met. But grudges don't deliver a satisfying return on our investment. What percentage of your emotional energy and mental energy do you feel has been absorbed by your grudges and your anger? Think of the productivity loss and the opportunity cost. Forgiveness is the ultimate productivity hack. Removing grudges will have a tremendous rebate. Keeping the commandments is a shortcut to happiness and so many things – results and fulfilling your mission in life. Life is full of struggles. But primary among the tests of life is whether we will trust Him. We need to unlearn all the ways we overthink, over exert, over complicate, overburden, over judge, over criticize – all of that too much.
