That chest pain you can't explain, that anger that fires before you can think, that heart you've quietly sealed off since someone broke it. There might be a reason it's still there. Dr. Bradley Nelson spent 18 years as a chiropractor, and what kept showing up led him to a wild realization: about 90% of the physical pain he saw traced back to emotions his patients never fully processed. Anger, grief, and guilt don't just disappear when we bury them, he says. They get trapped in the body, distort its energy, and quietly run the show. About a decade in, he started building a method around what he was seeing: The Emotion Code — and has spent the last 20 years certifying more than 17,000 practitioners in 108 countries. He talks about the “heart wall,” an invisible barrier that around 93% of people build without knowing it, and how taking it down has helped people fall in love, heal from depression, and let go of pain they'd carried for decades. Lewis shares his own story too, a years-long ache in his chest that finally released in a single, almost electric moment during deep therapy work. This one will make you rethink every “unexplainable” symptom, every instant overreaction, every wall you've built without realizing it. You'll walk away wondering what you might be storing, and what could shift the moment you finally let it go.Watch The Emotion Code in Action FREE The Heart Code: The Breakthrough Method to Open Your Heart and Transform Your Life The Body Code: Unlocking your body's ability to heal itself Emotion Code: How to Release Your Trapped Emotions for Abundant Health, Love and Happiness Watch The Emotion Code in Action Free Healing Course Discover Healing Website Dr. Bradley's Instagram Dr. Bradley's Facebook In this episode you will: Uncover why 90% of chronic physical pain traces back to trapped emotional baggage rather than the body itself Identify a Heart-Wall, the invisible barrier 93% of people carry that blocks love, health, and abundance without their knowledge Learn the Emotion Code and Body Code frameworks for locating and releasing inherited and personal trapped emotions Dismantle the belief in unworthiness that quietly sabotages relationships, success, and self-expression Discover how muscle testing taps into the subconscious mind to reveal hidden emotional causes behind pain and behavior Recognize real cases of instant healing, from vanishing rage to eliminated chronic pain, once trapped emotions are cleared For more information go to https://lewishowes.com/1974 More SOG episodes we think you'll love! More than 129 million Amerians live with at least one chronic disease, and millions struggle with chronic pain, fatigue, digestive issues, autoimmune disorders, and other persistent symptoms that remain difficult to explain or treat. For Chronic Disease Awareness Day July 10, USA Today Bestselling author and renowned holistic physician Dr. Bradley Nelson explains: Why Pain and Illness Persists: The Link to Unresolved Emotions Scientists have increasingly documented links between trauma, chronic stress, and long-term health outcomes. Research from the CDC's landmark Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) studies found that childhood trauma is associated with increased risks for numerous chronic health conditions later in life, including heart disease, diabetes, depression, and other serious illnesses. More recent research discovered a pathway between physical pain and emotional suffering. Dr. Nelson, author of the bestselling books “The Emotion Code,” “The Body Code,” and “The Heart Code,” believes unresolved emotional experiences are a missing piece of the chronic illness puzzle. Over almost two decades of clinical experience, he developed methods designed to help people identify and release what he calls “trapped emotions” — emotional energies he believes contribute to physical and emotional distress. “Much of our suffering is due to negative emotional energies that have become ‘trapped' within us,” Dr. Brad says. “The Emotion Code is about finding those old emotions and releasing them forever.” He can discuss topics including: ● What science is discovering about the connection between trauma, stress, and physical and emotional health. ● How emotional experiences can become embedded in the body. ● Why adverse childhood experiences continue to affect health decades later. ● How people with chronic pain and illness can learn to identify and release trapped emotions. ● Help and resources available through DiscoverHealing.com, his company that has trained more than 15,000 healing practitioners worldwide. A rash baffled 25 years of dermatologists. It disappeared in a week once Dr. Steven Zodkoy traced it to a childhood memory. Here's what that case, and the concept of a "biofilm," has to do with your migraines and your bladder. Dr. Chris Motley sits down with Dr. Steven Zodkoy, a chiropractor and applied kinesiologist who became the first in his field to pass the American College of Nutrition exam, a credential previously reserved for MDs and PhDs. Thirty-five years into practice, Dr. Zodkoy specializes in the patient conventional medicine gave up on: the migraine sufferer, the "recurring UTI" patient who never actually had a UTI, the chronic fatigue case with a normal bloodwork panel. His framework rests on one idea most doctors do not test for: the biofilm, a sticky protective layer that bacteria, viruses, mold, and parasites lay down to hide from the immune system and from treatment. Once one pathogen builds a biofilm, Zodkoy argues, it invites others in, which is why a "cured" infection so often resurfaces as something else entirely, chronic sinusitis becoming Lyme-like fatigue, a bladder infection becoming a lifetime of unexplained pelvic tightness, a resistant childhood strain becoming an adult autoimmune diagnosis. Key Takeaways Biofilms are why a "cleared" infection keeps coming back as something else. A biofilm is the mucous-like shield a bacterium, virus, parasite, or mold colony builds to hide from the immune system and from antibiotics. Once it's there, he says, it invites other pathogens to shelter in it too, which can explain why chronic sinusitis, Lyme-linked fatigue, and mold exposure so often show up in the same patient. Interstitial cystitis is frequently a tight-bladder problem being treated as a recurrent UTI. Dr. Zodkoy's read: stress and anxiety tighten the bladder, it never fully empties, and what's left behind gets infected, so the antibiotic treats a symptom while the muscle stays tight and the infections keep returning. His protocol adjusts the pelvic floor and pubic symphysis, then layers in biofilm-breaking supplements and emotional work. A 25-year rash resolved after one round of Neuro-Emotional Technique tied to an age-seven memory. Every physical test on this patient, mold, yeast, parasites, heavy metals, came back clean. Emotional testing didn't. His migraine protocol runs liver support first, nervous system second, emotional work third, in that order, on purpose. Dr. Zodkoy's 1992 theory ties migraines to a slow-functioning liver overloaded by chemical exposure, hormones, or diet. He walks us through his 8-week liver protocol, 16 weeks including autonomic nervous system support, and a 96% success rate once emotional work is added. You cannot do deep detox or trauma work on a nervous system that has nothing left. There's no point moving to detox, biofilm-clearing, or emotional release until a patient's self-rated energy crosses roughly 50 to 60 out of 100. Trapped emotions can block healing. What if part of your child's healing isn't something you can track on labs… but something their body has been holding onto for years? In this episode, I'm sharing one of the most powerful modalities I use with nearly every client—the Emotion Code—and how releasing trapped emotional energy can create real, physical shifts in the body. You'll hear the story of a 17-year-old client whose healing didn't just show up in scans—but in his energy, behavior, and willingness to engage in life again. We talk about how trauma, stress, and even inherited emotional patterns can live in the body—and why addressing them may be one of the most overlooked pieces of the healing process. This is not about replacing medical care. It's about expanding the way we understand healing. Because sometimes, the missing piece isn't another supplement… It's something your body has been waiting to release. Therapists are great at taking care of everyone else, but we are not always so good at noticing what the work is doing to us. In this episode, I'm talking with Lindsay Benson about the hidden toll private practice can take on our nervous systems. We get into therapist burnout, the stress that builds up from sitting with difficult stories all day, and the small practices that can help us reset between sessions. Lindsay also shares her experience moving from insurance to private pay, offering therapy intensives, and building a practice that feels more sustainable. What if your heart isn’t shut down to love at all? What if it’s being protected by something you can’t see? If you’re a midlife woman wondering why you can’t find love, the answer isn’t always about the wrong partner or bad timing. It may be an invisible heart wall. You might have an energetic protection set up that’s kept you emotionally safe for years, but is now the very thing keeping you lonely. You’ve read the books. Listened to the podcasts. Maybe even worked with an energy healer or therapist. And yet here you are, still single and wondering what’s not working. After 20 years of coaching midlife women, I’ve noticed the same pattern over and over. It’s rarely about a lack of options or bad luck. Most of the time, my clients had no idea the wall was even there. What a Heart Wall Actually Is Dr. Bradley Nelson, creator of the Emotion Code, first encountered this phenomenon while working on his wife. He perceived something like a wall surrounding her heart. It wasn’t physical, but energetic. Practitioner Robin Friedman later developed a guided meditation to help people find the wall and release it. I’ve used this method many times, with results that still surprise me. A heart wall forms unconsciously, over years, as a way to survive heartbreak and emotional disappointment. It’s not a flaw or proof you did something wrong. It’s a protective structure you created, and like most protection, it can overstay its welcome. How the Wall Forms in Midlife By midlife, most women have endured more than one heartbreak. A wall like this can build from one big heartbreak or from many smaller ones, layer by layer, from: Repeated disappointment that leaves you feeling like you have a “bad picker” A belief that your chance at love has already passed Subtle grief around aging, or the sense that time is running out Sheer exhaustion from the hoping-trying-disappointment cycle None of this means you failed at romance. A heart wall is simply what’s left over when love goes wrong and self-preservation kicks in. Whether you’ve dated a little or been through three divorces, the wall can show up the same way. It doesn’t scale with how much heartbreak you’ve had, only with how much you needed to protect yourself from it. The catch is you can’t selectively block pain and stay open to love at the same time. Protection and intimacy share the same doorway into your heart. Close it to one, and you close it to both. Signs Your Heart Wall May Be Activated You might be dealing with a heart wall if you notice yourself: Feeling emotionally guarded even when things are going well Consistently attracting partners who aren’t available Feeling disconnected or unmoved even when someone genuinely nice shows interest Saying “I want love” but resisting any action that would actually lead to it Putting off dating altogether, even though you say you want a relationship If a few of these sound familiar, that’s your signal you’ve been protecting yourself. Now the question is whether that protection still serves you. It’s worth pausing on that question, because it’s not a yes-or-no answer. The wall that protected you at 30 may not fit who you are in midlife. What felt necessary after one heartbreak might now be standing between you and a different kind of partner who wouldn’t cause that same type of hurt. Unfortunately, protection that was once accurate can become outdated without ever getting the update it requires. The Heart Wall Meditation: What It’s For (and What It Isn’t) This is the part I want to be really clear about. The goal of this process isn’t to rip the wall down. It’s to become conscious of it, and choose from there. Awareness gives you the opportunity to DECIDE what you want to do. In a relaxed, meditative state, you bring your awareness to your heart center and ask if a wall is present. If so, you ask to see it. People experience this differently. Some see brick or stone, others see glass, fog, wood, or something layered and mixed. I’ve even seen chains or a cage instead of a wall. There’s no one right image. From there, you simply ask if it’s safe to take the wall down now? Occasionally, the answer is no and that’s useful information. You can try again another time. When the answer is yes, you then choose how it comes down. Most people take it all down, but sometimes I’ve had to take a second pass at it. Whatever happens is exactly what’s supposed to happen in that moment. Some people feel immediate release. Others see the wall clearly but nothing shifts the first time. Neither outcome is wrong. This is a gentle process, not a one-time fix, and guided by your own inner wisdom. That’s what makes it so safe and simple to do. Release the Wall But Keep Discernment This is the piece people most often miss. Releasing a heart wall is not the same as throwing your heart wide open to anyone who shows interest. You still need to hold your standards. If someone lies once, doesn’t pursue you consistently, cancels more than once, or doesn’t keep their word, that’s vital information about your date’s potential. Don’t let your heart override those glaring red flags because you feel more open now. Your head and your heart are a stronger team than either one alone, and one without the other tends to lead right back to heartbreak. Taking the wall down means it’s time to date more consciously and be more open. Stay aware, true to your boundaries, and decide who can earn access to you. This approach is far better than defaulting to either total protection and being shut down or total openness to anyone who shows interest. This is really where the resistance tends to show up. You might ask yourself: What if I open up and get hurt again? What if I pick poorly again? What if I’m too old or it’s just too late? What if nothing changes? These are fair questions, and I won’t pretend to know exactly how your story unfolds. However, if the wall has come down, that’s a sign you’re ready to work with these questions instead of avoiding them. The wall did its job and you’re not erasing that. You’re upgrading it, replacing an automatic shutdown with a more conscious form of protection. That is your own clarity, judgment, and willingness to walk away when things aren’t right. After going through this powerful, yet gentle visualization, most women feel a release, or at least lighter and more open to possibilities. Personally, I’ve had amazing results. And I’ve taken lots of women through this over the years with wonderful results. I’m not saying they find love the next week, but they feel more at ease and comfortable with taking the steps to meet someone special. Experience It for Yourself If you’d like to be guided through this remarkable process rather than attempt it solo, I’m hosting a live 90-minute Heart Wall Meditation event: Wednesday, July 29th, from 10-11:30 am ET on Zoom There will be time afterward to talk about what came up and ask questions. It’s just $22, and there’s no replay, so it’s worth carving out the time to join live. This meditation isn’t only for romantic blocks, either. The process doesn’t mention love. You set your own personal intention for the meditation. Women have used it for business growth, friendships, creative resistance, spiritual growth, or anywhere something invisible seems to be in the way. Click the link to register now. The program is limited to 10 women. I’m Ready to Release My Heart Wall Key Takeaways A heart wall is a normal, protective response to past heartbreak, not a personal flaw You can’t selectively close your heart to pain while staying open to love; they share the same door The goal of the heart wall meditation is awareness and conscious choice Releasing the wall doesn’t mean abandoning discernment. Your boundaries still matter Change may happen instantly, gradually, or over multiple sessions and all of these are normal FAQ What is a heart wall? A heart wall is an unconscious energetic barrier that forms around the heart as protection after emotional pain, first identified by Dr. Bradley Nelson, creator of the Emotion Code. How do I know if I have a heart wall? Common signs include feeling emotionally guarded even in good circumstances, repeatedly attracting unavailable partners, feeling numb toward people who show genuine interest, and continually delaying efforts to date despite wanting a relationship. Does removing a heart wall mean I’ll immediately find love? No. Removing a heart wall doesn’t guarantee an instant relationship. What shifts first is usually how you feel, such as lighter, more open, and more willing to be seen. That shift is what makes new possibilities available. Can a heart wall meditation be used for things other than love? Yes. The same process can be applied to any area where you sense internal resistance, including business growth, friendships, or creative blocks. Do I have to do anything with the wall once I see it? No. You can simply become aware of it without removing it. Awareness itself is valuable, and you can choose to take further action whenever it feels right. Will taking down my heart wall make me less discerning about who I date? No. Releasing a heart wall doesn’t remove your judgment or standards — it removes an unconscious block. You still evaluate red flags, hold boundaries, and walk away from anyone who doesn’t earn your trust; you’re just no longer doing it from behind an automatic shutdown. { "@context": "https://schema.org", "@type": "FAQPage", "mainEntity": [ { "@type": "Question", "name": "What is a heart wall?", "acceptedAnswer": { "@type": "Answer", "text": "A heart wall is an unconscious energetic barrier that forms around the heart as protection after emotional pain, first identified by Dr. Bradley Nelson, creator of the Emotion Code." } }, { "@type": "Question", "name": "How do I know if I have a heart wall?", "acceptedAnswer": { "@type": "Answer", "text": "Common signs include feeling emotionally guarded even in good circumstances, repeatedly attracting unavailable partners, feeling numb toward people who show genuine interest, and continually delaying efforts to date despite wanting a relationship." } }, { "@type": "Question", "name": "Does removing a heart wall mean I'll immediately find love?", "acceptedAnswer": { "@type": "Answer", "text": "No. Removing a heart wall doesn't guarantee an instant relationship. Igor Tirunov on sertifitseeritud praktik kõigil kolmel Discover Healing tasemel — Emotion Code®, Body Code® ja Belief Code® — ning üks väheseid Eestis, kes valdab kõiki kolme meetodit tervikliku süsteemina. Tema teekond energiapõhise tervendamise juurde sai alguse isiklikust vajadusest — traditsiooniline meditsiin ei pakkunud vastuseid, mis ta leidis holistilisest lähenemisest. Täna aitab Igor inimestel vabastada kinni jäänud emotsioone, mõista piiravaid uskumusmustreid ja taastada keha loomulikku tasakaalu — sageli seal, kus teised meetodid on jäänud piiratuks. Lisaks Discover Healing praktikale õpib ja õpetab Igor tolteekide tarkust — iidset enesearengu filosoofiat, mis käsitleb teadlikkust, energiat ja isiklikku muutust sügavamal tasandil. Jill Walton: What if your anxiety, overwhelm, people-pleasing, or emotional triggers aren't signs that something is wrong with you, but signs that your nervous system has been trying to protect you all along? In this episode, we're joined by certified life coach and holistic health practitioner Jill Walton to explore how our bodies store experiences, why we often stay stuck in familiar patterns, and how healing begins when we learn to listen instead of fight against ourselves.Rather than trying to "fix" uncomfortable emotions, Jill shares how we can gently "drop in" to the body with curiosity, discover what our nervous system is communicating, and create the safety needed for change. We discuss practical tools for regulating the nervous system, emotional processing, the power of curiosity, creativity as a pathway to healing, and how asking the right questions can help release what your body has been holding onto for years.Jill's work blends CBT-based coaching, nervous system regulation, emotional processing, and body-based modalities including Emotion Code, Body Code, Belief Code, and the Felt Sense Polyvagal Model. Her approach helps people move beyond simply understanding their patterns intellectually to experiencing healing at the level of the body.If you've ever felt stuck in the same emotional patterns despite doing "all the work," this conversation offers a compassionate and hopeful new perspective on how to get to the bottom of what your body may be trying to tell you.

Many of us move through life carrying emotional wounds we may not even realize are still affecting us. Over time, heartbreak, grief, fear, and unresolved experiences can shape the way we connect with ourselves and others. This often creates invisible barriers around the heart. Bradley Nelson, DC, creator of The Emotion Code, The Body Code, and The Heart Code, has spent years exploring how trapped emotional energy may contribute to emotional and physical imbalance. By learning to identify and release these energetic blocks, we can experience greater peace, connection, and emotional freedom. Dr. Nelson will share how understanding the heart's emotional burden may help us move toward healing in ways we never imagined possible. I am grateful for Joanna for being our teacher in this class. Ever feel like you're crushing it on the outside while quietly falling apart on the inside? I know that feeling well, and so does my guest, Rebecca Lazzelle.Rebecca Lazzelle shares her journey from Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and senior corporate leader to energy healing practitioner, author, and retreat host. What started as a search for relief from chronic pain became a much deeper exploration of emotional healing, self-worth, and the hidden cost of always holding it together. After surviving a traumatic relationship, a domestic violence incident, PTSD, panic attacks, and the loss of nearly every external marker of success, she found herself facing a hard truth: achievement alone wasn't enough. We talk about the difference between striving and becoming, why high performers often hide their pain the best, and how healing rarely comes from one dramatic breakthrough. Instead, it comes from small choices made consistently over time. Rebecca shares how mindfulness, energy work, therapy, EMDR, writing, and self-compassion helped her rebuild her life from the inside out.If you've been carrying more than anyone knows, this conversation is a reminder that you don't have to keep holding it all together. Sometimes the strongest thing you can do is let go.Key Takeaways:A shocking turning point reveals how unresolved patterns can escalate far beyond what we expect. Why high performers often become experts at hiding pain while appearing successful. The hidden cost of "holding it together" and how it eventually impacts every area of life. A powerful distinction between achieving more and becoming more. The simple one-step approach that makes personal transformation feel possible again.About Guest:For most of my life, I was highly functional. I built a successful career in leadership and transformation work. I could manage complexity, guide teams through change, keep moving, and multitask, even when things were hard.Even before my personal life unraveled, I was drawn to efficient, body-based healing methods. The Emotion Code and Body Code appealed to me for the same reason process improvement always had: they work directly with root causes, not endless analysis. Then my personal life collapsed.I experienced domestic-violence-related betrayal trauma that didn't just break my heart. It broke my sense of safety, identity, and trust in myself. I understood what had happened cognitively. I went to therapy. I did "the work." And still, my body stayed on high alert. The anxiety, the tension, the looping patterns, the panic attacks, they didn't resolve. That's when the difference became undeniable.Insight helped me understand the story, but it didn't settle my nervous system. The somatic and energy-based work I had already respected became essential, along with other tools I discovered along the way. It supported what cognition alone could not: restoring safety in the body. Over time, my nervous system softened, physical tension eased, and old patterns lost their grip. I didn't become a new person, I returned to myself.Today, my work sits at the intersection of lived experience and embodied energy healing. I help people whose lives look fine on the outside but feel unsafe on the inside reconnect with their bodies, rebuild self-trust, and release patterns that didn't start with them through committed energy-healing work and intimate wellbeing retreats.Healing isn't just about letting go of physical discomfort; it's about remembering who we truly are beneath the weight of trapped emotions and trauma. I believe each of us deserves to feel light, connected, and alive; to be our true selves. I left a cult, got divorced, and for a time, lost even the few people I had leaned on. I thought greener grasses awaited me. I was wrong. Despite building a wildly successful digital marketing business, remarrying and growing my family to four kids, I felt nothing but dread each morning. Then came what I now call Epiphany Town. It was that electric moment when I stopped defining my life by what happened to me and began building on purpose. That phase lit me up in a way I had never felt. Now I devote every ounce of my energy to guiding others through their own version of Epiphany Town. I help them find the barriers that are actually holding them back, finally let go of self-sabotaging stories, and leap into a life that is meaningful and deeply fulfilling.I believe each of us has a story to tell, a gift to offer, and a life worth waking up for. Send Mo a text about this episode!So... last month my partner Tom noticed I had a black hole on my chest- lined with a moving, purple energy. LOL! Welcome to this Solo With Mo episode on the I love it when podcast! This episode is packed with a few of my most recent "energy experiences" + my first LIVE Coaching call with special guest- Zara Smith. I had the idea this last Monday to email my database and ask if anyone wanted to volunteer to be coached live on my podcast- and I got 10 volunteers! This seems like something people are excited to participate in- so I'll probably be doing it again. I chose Zara because of her topic and the fact that she's not an entrepreneur. Often times when people hear the word "Coach" they think of the Coaches that work in sports or they think "Business Coach". And the truth is that I work with all sorts! Right now I'm currently Coaching someone who is retired- and I LOVE IT! I love the variety. Zara's desire was to be coached on the topic of letting her guard down and looking at why her heart space is a bit blocked. I know that a lot of people can relate to this. In this episode I talk about:The black hole aka "Transmutation Chamber" Tom helped me discover that I created when I was a kid to help people feel better. How I often get a migraine the day I'm speaking in front of a roomful of people- and how I work to block that energy and remove the migraine. My increasing awareness around feeling other people's energy. The last 60 minutes is my live Coaching call with Zara- where we end up utilizing the Emotion Code to remove her heart wall. Please comment on this video/post and let us know what you think! My goal from sharing this live Coaching call is to give you an idea of what it FEELS like to work with me. In this episode, I sit down with one of the most well-known pioneers in the energy healing space, Dr. Bradley Nelson — creator of The Emotion Code and author of The Heart Code. I'll be honest… this is the kind of stuff I used to think was straight-up "woo-woo." But after having firsthand experience with energy work, I've changed my perspective — and this conversation goes deep into why. We break down how unresolved emotional experiences don't just live in your mind… they can actually get stored in your body and impact everything from your health to your relationships. Dr. Nelson explains the concept of "trapped emotions" — emotional energy that wasn't fully processed and ends up lingering in the body, potentially contributing to both emotional and physical issues. One of the biggest takeaways from this episode is the idea of the "Heart-Wall." This is essentially a protective barrier your body builds around your heart using layers of trapped emotions — meant to protect you, but often ends up blocking connection, vulnerability, and even success. We also dive into: Why so many people feel stuck emotionally, mentally, or even physically How past experiences may still be influencing your current behavior and relationships The role of the subconscious mind in healing Simple ways to start becoming more aware of emotional patterns How to avoid continuing to build these "walls" over time Dr. Nelson also shares insights from his newer work, The Heart Code, and gives practical takeaways for anyone looking to improve their emotional health and overall well-being. Whether you're skeptical or already open to this kind of work, this episode will challenge how you think about healing, self-awareness, and what's really holding you back. ⸻ About Dr. Bradley Nelson Dr. Bradley Nelson is a holistic chiropractor, author, and medical intuitive known for his work in energy healing. He is the creator of The Emotion Code and The Body Code, systems designed to identify and release what he calls "trapped emotions" stored in the body. His work has been adopted by practitioners around the world and focuses on the connection between emotional energy, physical health, and overall human performance. In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Bradley Nelson, creator of The Emotion Code and The Body Code, to talk about his newer work, The Heart Code and the powerful concept of the "heart wall." We explore how trapped emotions form, how they can impact the body and mind (including anxiety, depression, disconnection, and low self-worth), and what it can look like to clear them so you can feel more love, joy, and belonging in your life. Dr. Brad also walks me through a real, live heart wall clearing, so you can hear what the process sounds like in real time. In this episode, you'll learn: What a "heart wall" is, and why Dr. Brad believes most people have one How trapped emotions form (and why they sometimes get "stuck") The surprising link between emotional baggage and physical pain How inherited and absorbed emotions can become part of your emotional reality Why clearing emotional energy can unlock love, creativity, connection, and belonging What to expect after a heart wall release, including how the integration period can feel Resources from this Episode: Visit Dr. Bradley's website here. Dr. Bradley Nelson is a holistic physician, USA Today bestselling author, and one of the world's leading voices in energy healing and root-cause wellness. As founder and CEO of Discover Healing, he created The Emotion Code®, The Body Code™, and The Belief Code®, and has now released The Heart Code, a book focused on dissolving “Heart-Walls” to unlock abundance, healing, and deeper purpose. On this episode we talk about: How Dr. Nelson went from chiropractor and former computer programmer to bestselling author and global teacher. The journey of self‑publishing The Emotion Code and later landing a six‑figure advance when St. Martin's republished it. Why he believes in doing “any show, anywhere” and how roughly 1,700 interviews have fueled book sales and brand growth. How he built Discover Healing's main revenue engine through multi‑level certification in Emotion Code, Body Code, and Belief Code. The launch strategy behind The Heart Code—preorders, bonus gifts, and bulk packages to hit the USA Today list. Top 3 Takeaways One book can be a business, not just a product. Dr. Nelson used his first book as a foundation for courses, certifications, an app, and live events—eventually certifying 15,000+ practitioners in 108 countries. Self‑publishing vs. traditional isn't either/or. He started by self‑publishing to move fast and keep margins, then later partnered with a major publisher for reach and credibility once demand was proven. Relentless visibility compounds. Years of consistent podcast, radio, and media appearances have created a global audience that now supports new book launches like The Heart Code. Notable Quotes “When you self‑publish, you can make money from the very first copy—and you can change the book any time you need to.” “My policy has been to do any show, anywhere, at any time. That's how you build a movement.” “I didn't know what it would look like; I just knew this information had to get out into the world.” Connect with Dr. Bradley Nelson: Website (books, about, speaking): drbradleynelson.com ✖️✖️✖️✖️
The Fat-Burning Man Show by Abel James: The Future of Health & Performance
Did you know that your heart has a brain? In fact, there are more connections running from the heart to the brain than from the brain to the heart! (Think about that for a second.)We've all heard the expression "dying of a broken heart." It may sound hard to believe, but the phenomenon is quite real. Unresolved emotions like grief, anger, or fear can quietly build pressure in the body and contribute to issues like high blood pressure, heart rhythm problems, and worse. The hidden strain of emotional pains of the past affect the physical health of the heart, taking a toll over a lifetime of real and imagined stressors. Your emotional health is a direct input into your physical health. So before you ignore your body and reflexively say "I'm fine," now is a good time to take a deep breath, check in with yourself for a moment and ask, "how do I feel in my heart?"When we're hurt physically or emotionally, our body and nervous system naturally engage guarding mechanisms. In the wild, injured animals withdraw from socializing and normal tasks and hide until they're healed. But in humans, the fight, flight, and freeze response can go haywire. Our fragile nervous systems face a constant barrage of unnatural, overstimulating modern stressors that eat away at our health, vitality, and sanity. When natural healing processes are interrupted, we can develop subconscious maladaptive patterns of avoidance, isolation, and lack of connection. This incomplete healing can feel like you're not fully alive or not fully present, yet also completely overwhelmed. (After getting my bell rung pretty good recently in a hit-and-run car wreck, I can say I've been there myself.) After a lifetime of struggles, you might not feel not quite so free, open, and alive as a child chasing butterflies in the backyard. So how can you create the life you dream about when your energy is being drained by the emotional baggage? How can we build profound connections with people we care about if our hearts are shuttered behind protective defensive emotions? The paradox is that pain and struggle actually shape us into the people we're meant to become. Some even call it the human condition. This week's guest offers that our trials may even serve a divine purpose. No matter what life has in store for us, the good news is that the human body has a remarkable (and often miraculous) ability to heal. This week's guest has helped millions of souls across the world do just that. Dr. Bradley Nelson is a renowned Holistic Physician, father of 8, husband of 44 years, bestselling author of multiple books including his latest The Heart Code, and a visionary thought leader in root cause healing and personal transformation. Emotional wounds don't just live in your mind. They live in your body, your relationships, and even your family tree. In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Michelle Dawson, a mind-body medicine expert and Recall Healing director, to explore how unresolved trauma creates physical illness, repeats life patterns, and blocks your true potential. Michelle explains why talk therapy often misses the root cause and how emotional conflicts show up as specific health issues in the body. We discuss the concept of invisible loyalties, where you unconsciously repeat your ancestors' patterns. We explore the benefit of creating a personal trauma timeline to identify cycles and how releasing one trapped emotion can heal your entire family line. Michelle shares how perfectionism and negative self-talk can stem from unprocessed family narratives. She also introduces practical tools like the Emotion Code, EFT tapping, and timeline work that help you break free from patterns you didn't even know you were carrying. 93% of us are walking around with an invisible energetic wall surrounding our hearts, and it's the hidden reason why joy feels distant, love feels hard, and depression lingers no matter what we try. In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Bradley Nelson, the holistic chiropractic physician and creator of The Emotion Code, to talk about his latest book, The Heart Code, and the groundbreaking discovery of the heart wall. We get into what trapped emotions really are, how they create physical pain and disease, why inherited emotional trauma from generations back is affecting you right now, and the simple muscle testing technique you can use today to start releasing them. Have you ever had an emotion from a past trouble or trauma resurface out of nowhere? I feel we talk about it often, that you encountered something and out of nowhere it seems, you felt overcome with sadness or anger or nostalgia from something you had forgotten about or thought you were over. My guest today explains a theory that the unresolved emotions actually exist as wounds of energy in our bodies. And they can block us, with the worst result being a blockage of our heart. And we start off discussing research on the literal intelligence contained in the heart that I found very intriguing and enlightening. My guest is holistic physician Dr. Bradley Nelson who is one of the world's foremost experts on natural methods of achieving wellness. He is the creator of The Emotion Code®, The Body Code™ which I previously had him on the show for, and The Belief Code®.. His bestselling books include “The Emotion Code,” and “The Body Code,” and his newest book and our muse for this conversation is, “The Heart Code” which comes out Dec. 2, 2025 and is now available for preorder with special gifts if you go to drbradleynelson.com. Some of you may feel some of the concepts shared are a bit far reaching, but I think you'll find this discussion very down to earth and will gain insight for yourself into how you can find more capacity in regards to your heart and emotions.
