Healthcare stocks also in ICU today, CSL falling another 1.4% with RMD unwinding 3.4%. Tech lower as sellers took profits after recent rallies. The ASX200 rose 161 points to 8870 (1.9%) as we wait for the next catalyst. US futures are slightly positive, but it's a big week for earnings. CBA and CSL Wednesday. Banks were firm with CBA up 0.6% and the Big Bank Basket up to $281.52 (1.0%). MQG rallied 2.4% and other financials also doing well. ZIP up 3.8% and PPM rose % after a NBIO from CGF. Insurers rose too. REITs had a much better day, GMG jumped 6.5% on data centre outlook and SCG rose 1.8%. Industrials were firm, WES up 1.4% with CAR beating expectations, and rising 9.9%. Retail bounced, although JBH failed to get the memo. ALL up 2.4% and FLT bounce 6.2% in sympathy with WEB. Tech bounced but not really that convincing, WTC up 3.6% and XRO steadied up 1.4% with the All-Tech Index up 3.7%.Resources saw money flood back in, BHP up 2.3% and FMG rallied 2.6% with gold miners better. NEM up 6.5% and NST rallying 3.6%. Lithium becalmed but copper and base metals did ok. SFR up 4.4% with ILU running hot. Uranium too glowing on US AI spend, LOT up 10.6% and DYL rallying 8.2% with coal also a merry old soul. In corporate news, WEB rallied hard as the company clarified the Spanish Inquisition. Up 18.6%. No one expected that. BVS also doing well on a guidance update, rallying 29.4%. SEK took a $356m impairment against its Zhaopin business in China. ARG slightly higher after a profit of $130.8m in the first half, and lifted its fully franked interim dividend to a record 18.5c.In economic news, locally Household spending fell by 0.4% in December in nominal terms. The PBoC injected a total of 600bn yuan via a 14-day repurchase agreement late last week, ending a two-month hiatus.Bitcoin up to $71716.Asian markets flying on Japanese election result. ASX 200 fell 6 points to 8928 as iron ore stocks rallied into the close. The turn in BHP and RIO helped on a bump higher in iron ore. Gold miners were strong but not getting carried away. NST up 3.1% and NEM up 2.6% which considering the bullion price went nuts again, shows maybe some short-term fatigue. Uranium stocks were patchy too given the big move to US$100lb in spot prices, PDN only up 1.4% and DYL leading the charge, up 12.4%. Critical metal and rare earths stocks were walloped on unconfirmed reports that the US is abandoning its idea of a floor price. LYC fell 3.7% and ILU dropped 14.1% as impairments didn't help there either. Lithium stocks under pressure too, IGO down 5.8% on production report, LTR fell 4.2% on a bond to equity conversion, MIN dropped 3.8%. Oil and gas doing very little. Meanwhile banks were mixed, CBA off 1.1% and the Big Bank Basket down to $266.66 (-0.7%). Financials were mixed too, ZIP fell 3.8% on the strong AUD, given most of its earnings are in USD now. ASX 200 kicked another 82 points higher to 8942 as BHP roared back into #1 spot on the ASX. Up 2.6% today.  Fair to say resources were a little mixed, gold miners tried hard to suck the same ‘Koolaid' as bullion traders, but failed, with EVN down 0.7% and NEM only up 1.4%. Most other were solid but not spectacular. Lithium and rare earth stocks felt a little pain, LYC down 5.0% and PLS off 2.4%. ILU dropped 4.6% with IPX down 3.8%. Copper stocks fared better as RIO jumped 1.7% and even FMG rose 1.7%. Uranium stocks fell with LOTDB falling the hardest down 7.7%. PDN eased 0.6% lower and BOE dropped 3.7%. WDS and STO pushed ahead on LNG pricing with STO up 2.5% as its first Barossa project cargo left port.Banks were firm, the Big Bank Basket rose to $268.50 (). MQG had a good day in the sun, up 2.3% and insurers did well too, QBE up 1.4% and SUN rising 0.7%. REITs eased back, industrials mixed, WES rose 2.3% and COL and WOW moved higher. BXB fell 1.0% and tech still patchy at best. Jego zdaniem napięcia, które dziś wychodzą na powierzchnię, są wyraźnie silniejsze niż dawniej, ale nie muszą oznaczać rozpadu. W tle — rosnący fenomen Grzegorza Brauna i poważny problem Konfederacji, która według Karnowskiego może płacić cenę za brak wewnętrznej rozmowy.PiS po latach „zamkniętej dyskusji”: emocje wyszły na wierzchKarnowski ocenia, że po ośmiu latach rządzenia PiS funkcjonował w logice jedności i obrony — „nie rozmawiajmy, musimy być razem”. Później doszła przegrana wyborów i, jak mówi, „zamach na funkcjonowanie” opozycji. To — w jego ujęciu — także cementowało partię. Dziś jednak, gdy do wyborów parlamentarnych pozostały dwa lata, a wybory prezydenckie są już za nimi, pojawił się moment na rozliczenia, ocenę i przegrupowanie.Jan Rokita (…) nazwał [to] okresem kotłowaniny. Ja się z nim zgadzam. Przez coś takiego każda formacja musi przejść– mówi.W tej „kotłowaninie” — dodaje Karnowski — nie chodzi wyłącznie o PiS. Zwraca uwagę, że problem ma także Konfederacja, a przecież to ona przez lata budowała swój polityczny projekt.Skupiamy się na Prawie i Sprawiedliwości, a jakiś problem ma Konfederacja. (…) Nagle wyskakuje Grzegorz Braun, im zabiera połowę– zaznacza.Czy grozi rozłam? Karnowski: „dzisiaj tego nie widzę”Prowadzący pyta o możliwość podziału PiS i scenariusz partii Mateusza Morawieckiego. Karnowski odpowiada wprost: wyjście i budowanie osobnej formacji byłoby nieracjonalne. Przyznaje jednak, że emocje są „o kilka stopni” wyższe niż standardowe spory w PiS i że sytuacja teoretycznie może „wymknąć się spod kontroli”.Te emocje trochę wyszły poza to, co było zwykle. (…) Ale ja zakładam, że tutaj dzisiaj nikt nie gra o to, żeby stworzyć własną formację– podkreśla.Karnowski wskazuje też, że wejście na rynek z nową partią — nawet przy obiecujących, „pierwszych” sondażach — szybko weryfikuje rzeczywistość.Wychodzisz, pierwsze sondaże (…) mówią: „uuu, aż 12 proc. czy 17 proc.”, a potem masz pierwszy realny: 9, 8, 7. No nie — bardzo trudno jest się na tym rynku wbić– prognozuje.W jego ocenie w PiS zachodzi raczej proces przegrupowania, podsumowania i „wylania emocji” po latach publicznie zamkniętej debaty. Wśród czynników napędzających napięcie wymienia presję młodszych pokoleń domagających się awansu, a także nową sytuację po zwycięstwie Karola Nawrockiego i układaniu się jego środowiska wewnątrz szeroko pojętej prawicy.„Mamy też do czynienia z parciem młodszych pokoleń (…) młodzi chcą awansu. Mamy też zwycięstwo prezydenta Karola Nawrockiego (…) nowa mapa sił. Ale nie — ja bym nie powiedział, że tam wyjdzie z tego rozłam.”Braun rośnie, Konfederacja traci. „Efemeryda” czy trwała siła?Karnowski zauważa, że wzrost Brauna ma dziś charakter medialnego zjawiska i jest oparty na emocji, którą nazywa „antyukraińską”. Podkreśla, że ugrupowanie Brauna nie przeszło dotąd realnego testu wyborczego i nie wiadomo, jak wygląda jego zaplecze w terenie, ani kto miałby znaleźć się na listach.Żadnego testu wyborczego ta struktura nie przeszła. Ilu ludzi tam naprawdę jest w terenie? Czy ma w ogóle kogoś na listy?– pyta.Wprost mówi, że widzi w tym „pewnego rodzaju efemerydę”, a nawet dopuszcza scenariusz, że w 2027 roku lista Brauna może w ogóle się nie pojawić.Ja bym się nie zdziwił, jakby się okazało, że w roku 2027 (…) w ogóle żadnej listy Brauna nie ma– mówi.Jednocześnie dodaje ważną uwagę z perspektywy PiS: mimo „problemów moralnych, ideowych, etycznych” Braun mógłby okazać się łatwiejszym koalicjantem niż Konfederacja — ponieważ nie wyrósł w tak silnej opozycji wobec PiS i nie ma tak mocno osadzonych konfliktów interesów.Paradoksalnie (…) to jest łatwiejszy koalicjant niż Konfederacja. (…) Nie wyrósł, tak jak Konfederacja, w opozycji wobec Prawa i Sprawiedliwości– pokreśla.Stabilna polityka mimo codziennych burzKarnowski pod koniec rozmowy polemizuje z tezą o „pędzącej” scenie politycznej. Jego zdaniem Polska jest długofalowo krajem stabilnym: dominują znane nazwiska, a duopol — mimo licznych prób jego obalenia — trwa.Długofalowo to bardzo stabilny kraj polityczny. Banks saw selling, CBA held firm, the other three off, the Big Bank Basket down to $265.65 (%). Other financial slid, HUB down 3.3% and NWL off 4.5%. Tech was mixed, WTC gained 2.4% on reaffirming guidance at the AGM. The All-Tech index falling 0.8%.In corporate news, MYX saw its shares halted after a big fall and the Treasurer knocking back the bid. KGN rose slightly on an update, REH better despite a 18% fall in EBIT. The Tanakh is littered with unsavory characters whose criminal deeds and lack of character left me asking, "Is this the best we can do? Especially for this religion that is not even from my culture? Why are we only championing terribly flawed and ruthless men?Undeterred, and unaccepting of the notion of "the human condition," I never lost my own personal faith in mankind. There had to be a noble, family oriented, just, and fair people somewhere. I got tipped off by another reader of history, and I was determined to find out if untainted roots of man were to be found in this group of people. What I found revitalized me. My quest had led to the Goths, and their history, our history, our heritage, has been deliberately stolen, co-opted, inverted, slandered, and often completely erased from the record. What I didn't find in those dark grimoires they pass off as religion I found in the histories of the Men from the North, the bringers of culture, civilization, and innovation. These were the creators of a Noble culture. And they battled many of the dark forces that have since regained a stranglehold over Man through their tactics of moral erosion, artificial social constructs, and cunning treachery.
