As always with Ali's romances, it's a yes for PSR! Danelle and I are gonna say yes* for Silver Elite. Tuned in to see what exactly the asterisk means.

Automobilky medzitým investujú do vývoja elektromobilov miliardy eur. Rapídny rast výrobných nákladov hrozí vytvorením priepasti medzi tými, čo si môžu a tými, čo si nemôžu dovoliť kúpiť nové auto.

One of the most limited blockchain resources is blockspace. From Bitcoin's Blocksize Wars to Ethereum's scaling roadmap, a common denominator seems to have emerged in the form of rollups. Advancements in zero knowledge proofs have enabled trustless bridges, which are a cornerstone to onboarding liquidity to any blockchain. Furthermore, Celestia's modular approach to blockchain architecture and their recent commitment to gigabyte blocks of data availability marked the beginning of commoditization for rollups. With the fall semester starting, UW-River Falls' College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences (CAFES) is ready for another year of hands-on education, shaping the next generation of agricultural leaders. Even though enrollment hasn't changed much, CAFES Dean Mike Orth shares that interest in important agriculture programs is picking up. "Our companion animal science program, which is relatively new, has really surged in popularity, especially among pre-vet students," Orth stated. The university's equine science program is also thriving, as it remains the only one in Wisconsin with its own equine farm. "The program, particularly our ranch horse initiative, has gained significant interest nationwide," added Orth. "It's a field that continues to grow in popularity, especially in regions where equestrian activities are integral to the community." While most agricultural majors have remained stable, there has been a slight downturn in the agricultural economics field. However, Orth noted the college's commitment to adapting its programs to meet industry demands. One example is the introduction of an environmental engineering program, which, though small, is seeing consistent growth. "We also recently approved a new community and environmental planning major, which is generating a lot of excitement," Orth shared.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Have you ever been so frustrated with life that you just wanted to throw everything away and start fresh?  It sounds great until you start considering all the ramifications involved. Things like: - Quitting your job- Selling the house and moving to a new location- Saying goodbye to friends and family (at least for a little while)- Dropping out of church, school, and various other civic organizations- Saying no to routine and saying yes to radical change The list could go and on but you get the idea. Starting fresh is far from an easy process. One can get nauseous just thinking about all of the ramifications and consequences. Not to say that change can't be good in our lives, but sometimes it just seems easier to keep the status quo by leaving our fantasy of a life change for another day. Angie Orth made the life-changing decision to follow through on a life-change. With her thirtieth birthday looming, Orth decided to escape her everyday life and embark on a journey of a lifetime. So, she quit her job, launched a travel blog, and booked a one-way ticket to the South Pacific and a few other exotic ports of call.  Along the way, Orth found herself dodging tsunamis, earthquakes, political revolutions, and the relentless pursuit of her family trying to contact her. But most importantly, despite her global misadventures, Orth strengthened her relationship with God and found a new resolve to chart the course for the rest of her life. In her new book, “Flirting with Disaster: True Tales of Fear, Failure, and Faith”, Orth shares a few pages from living life unscripted yet still on a mission. But most importantly, she demonstrates that God's vision for our lives is far better than anything we could ever come up with. Orth joins us on the Crossmap Podcast talk about how she made a complete 180 degree turn that changed everything about her life in a positive way. Listen how living life unscripted yet still on mission led her directly into a much stronger relationship with God.

From digital inclusion to AI innovation, we take a closer look at Government Technology's honorees in the 23rd year of its annual awards. In conversation with editorial staff, we focus on the work of five particular leaders. The editors of Government Technology recently released their annual Top 25 Doers, Dreamers and Drivers for this year. The class of 2024 is noteworthy for continuing a multiyear trend toward gender equity among recipients, with women making up 44 percent of the group. The cross section of public leaders is recognized for their work on digital inclusion, government modernization, innovative application of generative AI, and a collective commitment to improving government services. The episode focuses on five recipients, emphasizing their dedication and humility and underscoring their role in driving positive change at the local, state and national levels. The hosts are joined by Government Technology Managing Editor Lauren Kinkade, Associate Editor Zack Quaintance, Senior Staff Writer Thad Rueter and Data Reporter Nikki Davidson. SHOW NOTES Amy Huffman, policy director of the National Digital Inclusion Alliance (NDIA), stands as a crucial adviser to localities in vying for slices of the federal government's historic investment of $65 billion in broadband and $2.75 billion in digital equity. The funds are now trickling down to states, where the monumental task of allocation lies. Huffman is helping to guide states in effectively utilizing the funds, facilitating coordination through NDIA's toolkit and state cohorts. Rob Mancini leads Prince William County, Va.'s IT department, which topped the 2023 Digital Counties Survey, following strong placements in previous years. He helmed the county's modernization efforts and fostered an inclusive work environment. Mancini's focus is now on enhancing government services, including the implementation of a new AI-powered 311 platform, as part of ongoing efforts to transform the county's IT infrastructure. Sam Orth, chief technology officer and director of technology in Columbus, Ohio, owes his career trajectory to an early interest in personal computers and a stint at a local computer store in the 1980s. His private-sector sales background informs his current role, emphasizing customer-centricity and the understanding that technology drives change and business outcomes. Orth's approach, rooted in intrinsic motivation and a focus on trust and authentic communication, shapes initiatives like deploying body cameras for police and establishing the city's data analytics program, highlighting the importance of people alongside technological tools in building successful IT programs. Kenyatta Powers-Rucker, Maryland Department of Human Services CIO, highlights the absence of mentorship as a significant hurdle in her tech journey — emphasizing the importance of support, particularly for underrepresented groups. With more than 12 years in leadership, Powers-Rucker's commitment lies in facilitating access to tech resources for those in need while advocating for greater diversity in the industry through speaking engagements, networking and mentorship initiatives. Katy Ruckle, Washington's chief privacy officer, has spearheaded the state's privacy initiatives, establishing foundational principles and training programs while leveraging grants for workforce upskilling. In her role since January 2020, Ruckle aims to navigate the evolving landscape of technology, particularly AI, by fostering responsible data usage through collaborative partnerships and community engagement — ensuring Washington remains at the forefront of privacy standards. By two o'clock in the morning, Orth Godlove of the Consolidated Counterweight Technocracy had chosen four names. Cassander Timaeus Berenice: an Apostolosian medic with a cool head and a noble background. They'd be able to use their connections, Orth thought. Speak with the Ithikos in a register others wouldn't. Then there was Mako Trig, some bright-eyed punk kid who claimed to be able to hack anything and everything. He'd dance through their security with a smile. The robot was a risk. Automated Dynamics' presence would raise questions, but if it came to it, Orth trusted that they would be nothing compact steel and ceramic couldn't answer. The last name on the list was a wildcard. He'd had to pull some strings, get some questions answered, make sure that this was the real deal. Aria Joie herself, the jewel in EarthHome's crown, now apparently turned freelancer on the desert planet. Whatever her motives, her legendary charisma and boundless optimism more than qualified her. There was a certain matter that needed to be cleared up - a corpse on a casino floor, a CCT manager in a cell. There were people down the hall who Orth knew would love nothing more than to roll in with the big guns, but things were… delicate. That'd be a disaster. No, it'd be these four. He'd already furnished them with a ship. He pinched the bridge of his nose. They'll be in and out. He made the call.  This week on COUNTER/Weight 0.1: The First Bell Orth Godlove rolls the dice!   Hosted by Austin Walker (@austin_walker) Featuring Keith J Carberry (@KeithJCarberry), Jack de Quidt (@notquitereal), Ali Acampora (@ali_west), and Art Tebbel (@atebbel)   Produced by Ali Acampora Cover Art by Craig Sheldon (@shoddyrobot) Music & Show Notes by Jack de Quidt
