This time, Chris Shiflett sits down with fellow west coaster Craig Ross, who calls in from Madrid equipped with a lawsuit-era Ibanez 2393. The two buddies kick things off commiserating over an increasingly common tragedy for guitarists: losing precious gear in natural disasters. The takeaway? Don't leave your gear in storage! Take it on the road! Ross started out in the Los Angeles band Broken Homes, influenced by Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, and the Beatles, but his big break came when he auditioned for Lenny Kravitz. Kravitz phoned him up the next day to tell him to be at rehearsal that evening. In 1993, they cut one of their biggest hits ever, “Are You Gonna Go My Way?” Ross explains that it came together from a loose, improvisatory jam in the studio—testament to the magic that can be found off-leash during studio time. Ross recalls his rig for recording the solo, which consisted of just two items: Kravitz's goldtop Les Paul and a tiny Gibson combo. (No fuzz or drive pedals, sorry Chris.) As Ross remembers, he was going for a Cream-era Clapton sound with the solo, which jumps between pentatonic and pentatonic major scales. En reprenant ce titre du groupe Meat Puppets sur son célèbre '' Unplugged '', Nirvana surprend le public et la production avec " Lake of Fire " ou comment l'Église chrétienne effraye ses fidèles pour qu'ils restent dans le " droit chemin " et ne finissent pas punis en enfer. En 1971, Black Sabbath s'éloigne de l'image préfabriquée par son label qui les lie à une forme de satanisme et précise qu'il est, tout au contraire, un groupe plutôt branché chrétienté, dans " After Forever ", on peut entendre Ozzy dire que " Dieu est la seule manière d'aimer ". '' Babaji '' de Supertramp, sorti en 1977, fait référence à un maître spirituel, un yogi dans la religion hindouiste et bouddhiste qui intéresse particulièrement Roger Hogdson à cette époque, influence qu'il va chercher chez les Beatles et leur célèbre voyage en Inde dans les années 60. Monuments Uncovered is the 10th studio album of the German power metal band Mystic Prophecy. It was released by Massacre Records on the 12th of January 2018 and contains 11 metal cover tracks of famous rock hits primarily from the 70s & 80s with the exception of "Are You Gonna Go My Way" making it the only song releasing from the 90s.
