Wenn mit »Silent Running« ein uraltes Demo zum Startschuss für diese Album-Entstehungsphase wird, oder Damon auf »Baby Queen« in einer absurden 90er-Blur-Konzert-Erinnerung schwelgt und diese ihn im Traum wieder einholt. Denn so richtig neu sind bei »Cracker Island« eigentlich nur die Handvoll Gäste auf einer gewohnt illustren Tracklist. Stevie Nicks von Fleetwood Mac, Thundercat und vor allem Tame Impala und Bad Bunny sind es, die dem Album ihren eigenen Twist mitgeben.
