In this eye-opening conversation, we sit down with Dr. Ingrid Skop — a board-certified OB/GYN and Vice President of Medical Affairs at the Charlotte Lozier Institute — to unpack the critical issues surrounding women's health care. Dr. Skop shares her firsthand medical insight on the realities of abortion procedures, the risks of substandard care, and what women really need when facing unplanned pregnancies. We explore alternatives to abortion clinics, the importance of parental involvement laws, and the decline of essential services like cancer screenings and contraception. With compassion and clarity, Dr. Skop sheds light on what true, comprehensive care looks like — and how we can better support women both physically and emotionally. This is a conversation about facts, not politics. About healing, not headlines. And most of all, about the value of every woman and every life.https://lozierinstitute.org/team-member/ingrid-skop-m-d-facog/Recent News Summary:Leading up to a major budget vote in Congress, the U.S. House Rules Committee held an intense 21-hour hearing packed with high-profile Democratic leaders — including Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, House Whip Katherine Clark, and former Speaker Nancy Pelosi — pushing for amendments that included increased welfare spending without work requirements and continued funding for Planned Parenthood. One of the central points of contention was the claim that proposed budget cuts represented the “largest cut to health care in American history.” Critics argue that equating abortion with healthcare is misleading and point to serious concerns about Planned Parenthood's practices.Reports — including a disturbing exposé from The New York Times — have shed light on troubling conditions in some Planned Parenthood facilities, including botched procedures, leaking sewage, and poor medical oversight. These revelations come amid ongoing scrutiny of the organization's influence and funding, with statistics showing:    Nearly 400,000 abortions annually performed by Planned Parenthood — about 40% of all abortions in the U.S.    A 97% abortion rate for pregnant women who visit their clinics.    A decline in other services: cancer screenings, pap smears, and contraception services have all dropped sharply.    $2 million per day in taxpayer funding still flows to the organization, despite these declines.    Meanwhile, over 5 women have reportedly died from complications related to abortions performed there.Critics also highlight that there are over 15 times more community health centers nationwide that provide broader, life-affirming care without performing abortions — offering a more comprehensive and safer option for women in need.House Speaker Mike Johnson vowed to push the bill through by July 4th, saying the time has come to redirect federal resources toward truly compassionate and high-quality women's healthcare.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/i-am-refocused-radio--2671113/support.

It's Monday, February 24th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus 18-year-old Christian received bail on false blasphemy charges An 18-year-old Christian in Pakistan, who has been imprisoned for more than 17 months on false blasphemy charges against Islam, is expected to be released on bail this week, reports MorningStarNews. After Akash Karamat won bail on December 19th for one of three blasphemy cases filed against him, judges granted bail on February18th for the other two cases. Psalm 5:12 says, “Surely, LORD, you bless the righteous; You surround them with Your favor as with a shield." Pope Francis has kidney failure On Sunday, the Vatican revealed that Pope Francis has ‘mild kidney failure' and remains in critical condition, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Prior to that, Francis was taken to the Gemelli Hospital in Rome on February 14th for bronchitis, and since then was diagnosed with double pneumonia in what was described as a “complex” medical scenario. On Saturday the pope received a blood transfusion and “high flows” of oxygen. Remarkable prayer by HUD Secretary at White House On Saturday night, President Donald Trump asked Housing and Urban Development Secretary Scott Turner, a former NFL football player, to open the National Governor's Association meeting at the White House with prayer. Listen. TRUMP: “I'd like to ask Scott Turner, who's our Secretary of HUD -- he's a great young man, and he's a tremendous, tremendous talent -- and I'd like to ask you to say grace. Thank you. Thank you, Scott, congratulations.” TURNER: “Thank you, sir. Thank you, Mr. President. Let's pray together. “Father, we're so grateful to have this opportunity to gather together, Father, for such a time as this, Lord. Father, we thank You for President Trump. Lord God, we thank You for the First Lady. We thank You for Vice President Vance and the Second Lady. Lord God, I pray that You will be an Iron Dome of protection around them and their families. Lord God, we thank you that You are a sovereign Father and You're a good, good Father. “And tonight, Father God, I thank You for the governors that have gathered here. Lord, thank You for their service. I pray You would give them wisdom and clarity and understanding. God, I pray You will be with them and their families. Lord God, I pray and thank You for my colleagues in the cabinet that are here tonight. “Lord God, we know that You have ordained this time before the foundations of the world. Father, we thank You tonight that, as we gather and as we fellowship, Lord Jesus, that You would be glorified. And Father, as President Trump as the leader of this nation, Lord God, as he every day, leads and serves, Father, I pray that You would give him great favor. God, I pray that You would open his eyes to see like he's never seen before, that You would open up his ears to hear Your voice. And Father God, you would give him divine insight and divine wisdom as he leads and serves this country. And Lord, tonight, we pray that the joy of the Lord would be our strength because we are happy tonight because You saw fit to bring us together. We love You. We honor You. … We give You the glory, in Jesus' name, Amen.” Trump rebukes Maine Governor in person over men in women's sports Later Saturday evening, President Trump talked to the fifty governors in the White House about his commitment to ban men from playing in women's sports. It was within this context, that he personally confronted Maine's  Governor Janet Mills, reports The Christian Post. Listen. TRUMP: “Two weeks ago, I signed an executive order banning men from playing in women's sports. Many Democrats are fighting me on that. I hope you continue, because you'll never win another race. It's just crazy. If you look at what happened with the boxing. If you look at what happened with the weight lifting numbers where a record that hadn't been broken for 19 years got shattered. A guy walks up, he had transitioned, and he knocked out that record by about 100 pounds. That would be a record not going to be broken again. So, we put a ban on it to protect women. If you watch the Olympics, you had two transitioned people that were fighting in the women's boxing, that women's boxing category, and if you saw that it was brutal. “The NCAA has complied immediately, by the way. That's good, but I understand Maine. Is Maine here? The governor of Maine? GOV Mills: “Yeah, I'm here.” TRMP: “Are you not going to comply with it?” MILLS: “I'm complying with state and federal laws.” TRUMP: “We are the federal law. Well, you better do it. You better do it, because you're not going to get any federal funding at all if you don't. And by the way, your population, even though it's somewhat liberal, although I did very well there, your population doesn't want men playing in women's sports, so you better comply.  You better comply, because otherwise you're not getting any, any federal funding.” MILLS: “I'll see you in court.” TRUMP: “Every state. …  Good. I'll see you in court. I look forward to that. That should be a real easy one. And enjoy your life after Governor, because I don't think you'll be in elected politics. “Every state has a responsibility to comply with Title IX. They have an obligation, a legal obligation, and we'll be enforcing aggressively, and we're going to be protecting our citizens.” You can send Maine Governor Janet Mills an email through a special link in our transcript today at www.TheWorldview.com urging her to ban men from women's sports. Or you can send her a short, two-sentence letter. Governor Janet Mills, 1 State House Station, Augusta, ME 04333. Genesis 1:27 says, “"So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them." Despite killing 392,715 babies, Planned Parenthood's tax funding up 43% A fact sheet produced by the Charlotte Lozier Institute based on Planned Parenthood's most recent annual report states that, since 2010, the Murder Giant's federal revenue has increased by some 43%. During that same period, its total services have decreased by 17%, with even larger percentage declines for particular services. Contraceptive services are down 39%, cancer screenings are down by 72% for breast exams and 74% for pap tests, and prenatal services are down by a whopping 80%. One so-called “service” at Planned Parenthood continues to increase, however: abortion. In the most recent service year, Planned Parenthood carried out 392,715 abortions, a record toll of death. Plus, its net income for the service year was $178.6 million, leaving it with net assets in excess of $2.5 billion. MSNBC fired Joy Reid And finally, MSNBC fired professional race baiter Joy Reid after she lost 28% of her viewership within the last year, reports Fox News. REID: “We've laid out the stakes in this crucial election, where one side stands for freedom while the other meets the textbook definition of fascism. Namely, a far-right dictatorial regime like [Adolf] Hitler's Germany or [Francisco] Franco's Spain or [Benito] Mussolini's Italy.” Libs of TikTok tweeted, “Turns out calling your political opponents racist Nazis every night for an hour doesn't get viewers.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Monday, February 24th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Subscribe by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. Can you believe it? Even The New York Times: yep, that New York Times... published an investigation calling out Planned Parenthood’s shocking negligence and dark underbelly. In this episode of Trending, Timmerie chats with Dr. Ingrid Skop, an OB-GYN and VP at the Charlotte Lozier Institute, detailing this bombshell report. Major Red Flags Revealed: Botched Abortions: A woman in New York thought she had an abortion, only to give birth 12 weeks later to a baby who sadly passed away. She’s now suing. Horrific Malpractice: Misplaced IUDs, failed procedures, and even birth control implants causing nerve damage. Sickening Conditions: One clinic had a sewage leak so bad it made patients vomit. Neglected Patients: Positive STD results never passed on, leading to untreated infections. But... Where’s the Money Going? $700M in taxpayer money. $500M in private donations. $90M in COVID loans. Yet, clinics are underfunded, staff are poorly trained, and turnover rates hit 50% a year. The article makes it clear: Planned Parenthood isn’t about women's health; it’s about abortions and lobbying. What’s the Real Choice? Dr. Skop mentions that there are 3,000+ pregnancy resource centers across the U.S. offering free services: ultrasounds, counseling, material support, you name it. These centers are powered by people who actually care about women and their babies. Timmerie and Dr. Skop emphasize this: Planned Parenthood markets "choice," but real choice means support, love, and options, not pressure and pain. Bottom Line: Even the NYT couldn’t sweep this under the rug. It’s time we help shine more light on the truth and support real women’s healthcare that values both moms and their babies.

Understanding the ‘Transgender' Case Before the Supreme Court

Problematic Women

After the Civil War, the equal protection clause was added to the Constitution as part of the 14th Amendment to protect the rights of black Americans. Simply stated, the equal protection clause provides that every American is to be treated equally under the law.  In the case United States v. Skrmetti, attorneys representing the U.S. government argued Wednesday before the Supreme Court that the clause in the Constitution prevents states from banning transgender medical treatments for minors. (The case, which comes out of Tennessee, is named after that state's chief law enforcer, Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti.) The problem with the government's argument, Heritage Foundation senior legal fellow Sarah Parshall Perry says, is that the high court already has determined that the equal protection clause applies only to immutable characteristics, qualities someone is born with, such as race or nationality.  “The Supreme Court has never determined that something that is subjective and internal, something that you choose and you act upon, is sufficient for constitutional protection,” Perry says on The Daily Signal's “Problematic Women” podcast.  The Supreme Court has been asked to give protection under the equal protection clause to individuals with a certain poverty status or education level, Perry says, but “both times the Supreme Court has said, ‘No way.'”  The case before the high court follows passage of a Tennessee law banning transgender medical treatments for anyone under 18. Perry predicts that the court will send the issue back to the American people, allowing each state to pass laws regarding minors and such gender treatments.  Perry joins this episode of “Problematic Women” to discuss the high-profile case and its likely outcome.  Also on today's show, we discuss President Joe Biden's decision to pardon his son Hunter Biden. And later, we sit down with Dr. Ingrid Skop, vice president and director of medical affairs for Charlotte Lozier Institute, to discuss the organization's recent study on the abortion pill.  Learn more about your ad choices. Democrats are blaming pro-life laws (and Donald Trump) for the death of Amber Thurman...and using her tragedy to promote unlimited abortion nation-wide. Let's cut through the lies--and save the lives of vulnerable women and children. Dr. Ingrid Skop, Vice President at the Charlotte Lozier Institute, is a board-certified OB/GYN who has delivered more than 5,000 babies. Unfortunately, she also has first-hand experience treating women for life-threatening complications of the abortion pill. She says we must place the blame where it belongs – not on pro-life laws that protect both mother and child, but on the abortions, intended to end the lives of unborn children that ended up taking the lives of their mothers, too.The Lozier Institute: https://lozierinstitute.org/Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/faith-works-live-with-rebekah-haynie--5411714/support.

It's Tuesday, June 25th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus.  (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Muslims killing Christians in Russia and Nigeria Islam-related deaths have dominated the news over the weekend.  Suspected Jihadists attacked Russian Orthodox Churches and synagogues in two cities in Southern Russia, 75 miles apart from one another, killing at least twenty, reports ABC News.  In addition, last week, Fulani Muslims stormed a village in Kajuru County, Nigeria with AK-47s. As they shouted “Allahu Akbar” or “Allah is Greater,” they shot up a group of Christians who were conducting a prayer meeting for the community, killing five, reports International Christian Concern. 1,300 Muslims died during pilgrimage to Mecca And, just within the last week, over 1,300 Muslims have died of excessive heat on their pilgrimage to Mecca where temperatures have soared as high as 120 degrees Fahrenheit (50 degrees Celsius), according to the Associated Press.   One of the five pillars of Islam is the Hajj, a once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage to Mecca. They hope it will help with forgiveness of their sins. But Ephesians 1:7 tells us that in Jesus “we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace.” Argentina's food inflation drops from 211% to 0.1% Argentina reports the first week without food inflation in thirty years, and only 0.1% in fifteen days.  That's not bad for a nation that was looking at 211% inflation or 4% per week back in 2023. Argentina's new conservative president, Javier Milei, is wrapping up a visit to Europe, in which he referred to the government of Spain bringing "poverty and death" to  the country.  And, he told an audience that he is defeating the socialists with "the largest fiscal adjustment in the history of Argentina." Trump is angry that Biden has targeted pro-lifers Speaking to the Faith and Freedom Coalition's Road to Majority conference at the Washington Hilton over the weekend, presidential hopeful Donald Trump promised he would take care of the pro-life activists facing prison time “on the first day.”   Listen to Trump tell the story of Paula Harlo. TRUMP:  “In the Republican Party, we will always support families, babies, life. Very important to the Republican Party. “By contrast, Joe Biden is weaponizing the Justice Department to viciously persecute pro-life activists and Americans of faith. Just last month, the Biden DOJ got Paula Harlow, a 75-year-old woman in poor health, sentenced to two years in prison for singing outside of a [abortion] clinic. Fearing she would die in prison, her husband pleaded with the judge for mercy and even asked to be thrown in prison with his wife. The judge responded by mocking their religion. “Paula is one of many peaceful pro-lifers whom Joe Biden has rounded up, sometimes with SWAT teams, and thrown them in jail. Many people are in jail over this. This is just crazy. We're gonna get that taken care of immediately, first day. “But let's call these brave Americans what they really are. It's persecuted Christians. That's what they are. They're persecuted.” Franklin Graham to Trump: Stop cussing During another of his speeches over the weekend, the former president announced having received a letter from evangelist Franklin Graham, encouraging him to avoid foul language in his speeches. Trump said the evangelist is wrong on the matter. Trump justified an occasional use of foul language for emphasis, but then told the audience he has been “working hard on it.”  Ephesians 4:29 is for all of us: “Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.”  Supreme Court to examine case banning puberty blockers for minors The U.S. Supreme Court agreed Monday to take up a case which challenges a Tennessee law banning artificial medical treatments for minors who want to change their God-given gender, reports CBS News. About half of the states have placed restrictions on such medical procedures. Biden's transgender plan blocked The flags are on the field on this one. Already, two U.S. district judges have blocked the Biden administration's plan to impose Title IX restrictions on public schools in America in an effort to transgender bathrooms and sports programs. So far, 26 states have joined seven lawsuits concerning the policy which is supposed to go into effect on August 1st. The Scriptures do speak to this moral issue. Deuteronomy 22:5 says, “A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman's garment, for all who do so are an abomination to the Lord your God.” Will women be drafted? The U.S. Senate has approved a measure that would include women in the military draft, reports The Hill.com. The provision is not contained in the House version of the National Defense Authorization Act before Congress.  And a spokesperson for House Speaker Mike Johnson told Fox News Digital that he is opposed to the inclusion of women in the draft. Presently, according to Pew Research, Israel, Eritrea, Mali, Morocco, North Korea, Tunisia, Mozambique, Norway, and Sweden include women in their selective service program. 2,750 pro-life pregnancy centers vs. 1,603 abortion mills Lifeway Research reports that 16% of Protestant churches support crisis pregnancy centers in the United States.  Baptist churches are three times more likely to provide financial support for the pro-life centers than Lutheran Churches. According to the data, 2,750 pro-life pregnancy centers provide $358 million of free services to women across the country each year, according to a Charlotte Lozier Institute report issued last December.  By contrast, as of 2020, there were 1,603 facilities conducting abortions in America.  Sadly, states are now spending over $200 million annually on abortion services, and the federal government is funding domestic abortion businesses to the tune of $390 million per year.  That's about the same amount of money donated each year by private charity to pro-life pregnancy centers. 21 Worldview listeners donated $4,140 And finally, toward our $84,000 final goal by 5:00pm central this Saturday, June 29, 21 Worldview listeners stepped up to the plate to help fund our 6-member team for another fiscal year. Our thanks to Kenyon in Merritt Island, Florida, Jamey in Macon, Georgia, Joshua in Bolivar, Missouri, Rob in Annandale, Virginia, and an anonymous donor from Helena, Montana – each of whom gave $25. We honor the donations of Edna in Marionville, Missouri who gave $75, Brett in Topeka, Kansas who gave $100, an anonymous donor and Grant in Ashland, Kentucky – both of whom gave $200, as well as Mark in Rossville, Georgia who pledged $20/month for 12 months for a total gift of $240. And we are grateful to God for Larry in Union, Kentucky and William in Marshall, Illinois – both of whom gave $250, Calvin in Odessa, Minnesota who gave $300, Max in Macon, Georgia and Lisa in Newport, Washington – both of whom gave $500, as well as Elizabeth in Carol Stream, Illinois and Charles in Waxhaw, North Carolina – both of whom pledged $50/month for 12 months for a gift of $600 each. Those 21 donors gave $4,140.  Ready for our new grand total? Drum roll please. (sound effect of drum roll) $58,005.16 (audience cheering) In order to hit our $84,000 goal, we still need to raise $25,994.84 by the end of the week. It's Friday, June 14th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus North Korea sent 1,400 helium balloons with manure and trash to South Korea South Korean Christian ministries have sent GPS-guided balloons carrying pages of Scripture and USB devices featuring the Bible into North Korea where owning a Bible can be punishable by execution. In retaliation for what it calls “anti-North Korean propaganda,” North Korea, led by the dictator Kim Jong Un, sent more than 1,400 helium balloons filled with trash and manure into South Korea, reports International Christian Concern. The South Korean military has intercepted many of the balloons.  In response to the helium balloon-delivered manure and trash, South Korean officials resumed loudspeaker broadcasts at specific border areas. Subsequently, Kim Yo Jong, the sister of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, warned South Korea that these loudspeaker broadcasts, leaflets, and USB devices could soon provoke a “crisis of confrontation” between the two nations.   She  added that the manure and trash balloons were “sincere presents” sent to the “goblins of liberal democracy who are crying for the guarantee of freedom of expression.” Join me and specifically pray Ezekial 36:26 for Kim Jong Un and his sister, Kim Yo Jong, who are spiritually lost.  The verse describes how God “will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.” According to Open Doors, North Korea is the world's most dangerous country in which to be a Christian. Trans World Radio, which broadcasts into North Korea from South Korea, received an email from a North Korean listener who said, “Without your programs, love and dedication, we would not have access to the Gospel of our Father in Heaven and we would be lost." Supreme Court allows Abortion Kill Pill to be sent through mail Yesterday, the Supreme Court made a terrible decision. It ruled against pro-life doctors and others who challenged the Food and Drug Administration's decision to loosen restrictions on the distribution of the Abortion Kill Pill, reports LifeSiteNews.com. In the unanimous decision in the case titled FDA v. Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine, Justice Brett Kavanaugh wrote, “The plaintiffs lack standing to sue to stop the law. Specifically, the FDA's regulations apply to doctors prescribing mifepristone and to pregnant women taking mifepristone. But the plaintiff doctors and medical associations do not prescribe or use mifepristone.” The Food and Drug Administration decided to make chemical abortion as widely available as possible as part of the Biden-Harris pro-abortion agenda. Dr. Ingrid Skop, the Medical Director of the pro-life Charlotte Lozier Institute, previously said, “The FDA's decision to weaken commonsense safeguards, removing doctors from the process, shows they prioritize ending unborn life over the health and safety of women.” In addition to directly ending an innocent human life, abortion drugs are also dangerous for women. Side effects and complications that accompany chemical abortions are: pain, possibly severe heavy and/or prolonged bleeding for multiple weeks fever infection incomplete abortion (requiring surgical follow-up) nausea and vomiting diarrhea feeling dizzy or having a headache short to lasting hot flashes hemorrhage blood clots undetected ectopic pregnancy, which is life-threatening and permanent infertility for an Rh-negative mother. God sent two rescuers to save father and 2 boys in Colorado River A week ago Thursday, when the inflatable kayak a father and his two young sons were using in the Colorado River flipped over in a rapid, the family became scattered in raging waters, reported KSL-TV. Providentially, Eric Odenthal saw the terrifying crisis unfold. ODENTHAL: “I just seen the kids floating downstream, struggling.” Indeed, according to the Grand County Sheriff's Search and Rescue, “The 10-year-old was reportedly wearing a belt-pack [personal flotation device] or PFD  that inflated with a C02 cartridge. It flipped the boy over so he was face down in the water. And the 8-year-old was wearing a [life preserver] that was too big and failed to keep his head above water.” Odenthal called out to his friend, Gaar Lausman, who jumped on his paddleboard. ODENTHAL: “You need to go right now. This is really important. Get those kids out of the water.” But, while the kids were scooped up, the dad, who had not been wearing a life jacket at all, was further away and barely able to keep above water, reports FaithWire.com. ODENTHAL: “He's getting pulled by eddies. His face is barely above water.” Just when it seemed all hope was lost, as the father sunk down below the water's surface, God sent along a second Good Samaritan. A man named Daniel Wright suddenly emerged on a jet ski. ODENTHAL: “It was literally a miracle this guy showed up.” According to the Grand County Sheriff's Search and Rescue, Wright initially passed by the father because he didn't see him. WRIGHT: “Initially, I thought it was just kind of debris in the water.” It wasn't until the man on the paddleboard got his attention that he turned around and found him. For his part, Wright scrambled to reach the father, who, at that point was reaching his hand up out of the water in a final attempt at being rescued. WRIGHT: “He realized that was it. That was what he had left was reaching out to me.  I had to help him. I had to get him.” Once he got him safely to shore, Wright described what happened next. WRIGHT:  “I gave him a hug and I embraced him, you know, when I got him out of the water because it was an emotional moment.” Grand County Sheriff's Search and Rescue concluded its post by encouraging people to wear “properly-fitted, and properly-worn” safety gear. As for Wright, he credited the Lord for his ability to be present and help out. WRIGHT:  “I'm just really thankful and I really just think God just had me right there at the right time.” No doubt, he echoes the sentiment of Psalm 9:1. “I will give thanks to You, LORD, with all my heart. I will tell of all Your wonderful deeds.” Virginia Worldview listener shares why he gave $500 Last night, I called Danny in Abingdon, Virginia, a Worldview listener who donated $500 to help keep this newscast on the air. He explained what he appreciates. DANNY: “I just like that you all provide an option for news that is filtered through a Biblical lens so that you're reporting news and how it relates to believers in Christ, and how the Bible would speak to the news of the day. I think y'all might be the only option, that I know of, that provides that for believers. And I appreciate that and I want to support that and hope that that continues.” Danny especially likes the fact that we cite two relevant Bible verses connected to two of our weekday stories. DANNY: “When I see that Bible verses are referenced in some of the stories, it just helps me be mindful of the Biblical worldview is the truth, and that we need to constantly be bringing the stories and news reports back to the truth which is in the Holy Scriptures.” He challenged other listeners to join him and make an online donation through our website TheWorldview.com. DANNY: “I would just challenge those that value The Worldview in 5 Minutes, who support this because I think this is one of the only options that Christians have to get news from a Biblical worldview. We need to support that because it's important and there's not many other options, if any at all out there. Ever heard that abortion is necessary to save a woman's life? Think again!    In a recent episode of Trending with Timmerie, Dr. Ingrid Skop, an obstetrician and the Vice President of Medical Affairs for the Charlotte Lozier Institute, joins Timmerie to tackle one of the most persistent pro-abortion myths: the idea that abortion is necessary to save the life of a mother. Dr. Skop, who has delivered over 5,000 babies, asserts that abortion is never medically necessary to save a mother's life. Instead, the focus should be on early delivery if complications arise, ensuring both mother and child receive the care they need.   Key Points from the Podcast:    Medical Misinformation & Misleading Practices:   Since the 1960s and 70s, Timmerie explains that the medical community has often misinformed women about their fertility and health, pushing birth control and abortion as solutions to underlying health issues.   Abortion & Emergency Medical Treatment:   Dr. Skop clarifies that in emergency situations, the appropriate medical response is to stabilize the mother and deliver the baby, not perform an abortion.   EMTALA (Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act of 1986) requires hospitals to provide emergency care, which includes evaluating and stabilizing both the mother and unborn child.   Supreme Court & Legal Battles:   The Biden administration's attempts to use EMTALA to promote abortion conflicts with state laws. However, Dr. Skop is optimistic that the Supreme Court will uphold the states' rights to protect both mother and child in emergencies.   Misleading Pro-Abortion Arguments:   Pro-abortion advocates often use the argument of "life of the mother" to justify abortion, despite it not being necessary. Most medical emergencies occur later in pregnancy when early delivery is viable.   Pro-Life Laws & Women's Health:   Quality medical practice involves early delivery, not abortion. Abortion, especially later in pregnancy, is riskier for women and often coerced by external pressures.   The Charlotte Lozier Institute provides scientific, peer-reviewed data debunking pro-abortion claims and supporting pro-life laws.   Global Perspective:   The U.S. is one of only eight countries that allows elective abortions throughout the entire pregnancy, a practice that is both inhumane and unnecessary. This is a heartbreaking reality that our nation needs to correct, and we need to turn back to the Lord.    Dr. Skop emphasizes that abortion till birth is a tragic reality in the U.S., often justified under vague definitions of health that include social and financial reasons. This misrepresentation leads to coercive practices that harm women and their babies. These women truly want to keep their children. Can you only imagine the pain and pressure they feel? We need to show them compassion and better choices, and walk with them through this hurt.    Pro-Life, Pro-Woman:    "Pro-life is pro-woman."   Pro-life laws protect women and children. The reality is, women facing crises during pregnancy need comprehensive care, not abortion. Educate yourself and others using resources from the Charlotte Lozier Institute, where science and compassion meet to support life at all stages. Here's one of Dr. Skop's publications.    Let's spread the truth and support the sanctity of life!   The best way to listen to the Best of the Week is on our #1 Free Catholic App. It's free, and always will be! It's Wednesday, May 29th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Kazakhstan officials raid Protestant churches Officials in Kazakhstan raided several Protestant churches in recent months. Police fined pastors and congregants for not being registered with the government. Pastors also faced charges of illegal missionary activity.  Last year, individuals and organizations in the Central Asian country faced over 200 cases of such prosecutions for exercising their freedom of religion.  The local Baptist Council of Churches said, “What has been happening in the last month . . . has aroused serious concern among Evangelical communities, which have experienced persecution for their religious activity.” According to Open Doors, Kazakhstan is the 47th most difficult country worldwide in which to be a Christian. Finnish Christian politician harassed by hostile court system A Christian politician is preparing to stand trial for the third time over her Biblical beliefs. As The Worldview reported on April 22nd, Päivi Räsänen is a former government minister and sitting Finnish parliamentarian. She recently submitted her defense to the Finnish Supreme Court.  Lower courts acquitted her of “hate speech” after she posted Bible verses online in opposition to sexually perverted lifestyles. However, the State prosecutor appealed the case to the country's Supreme Court.  Räsänen said, “An acquittal by the Supreme Court would … provide a clearer and stronger safeguard for the freedom of Christians to present the teachings of the Bible–and it would strengthen the principle of freedom of expression in general.”  More hurricanes on the way The U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is predicting more hurricanes this year than normal. The 2024 Atlantic hurricane season lasts from June 1 to November 30. The group predicts an 85% chance of an above-normal season.  The forecast includes 8 to 13 hurricanes. Four to seven of those are expected to be major hurricanes.  Job said in Job 26:12 and 14, “[God] stirs up the sea with His power, and by His understanding He breaks up the storm. … Indeed, these are the mere edges of His ways … the thunder of His power who can understand?” Political gender gap A new poll by the Institute of Politics at Harvard Kennedy School highlights the growing gender gap among young people. President Joe Biden leads former President Donald Trump by eight percentage points among Americans under 30. Among young women, Biden leads by 33 points. But among young men, Biden only leads by six points, down from 26 points in 2020. In 2020, 42% of young men identified as Democrat and 20% as Republican. Now, 32% identify as Democrat and 29% as Republican.  Transgender surgeries lead to suicide attempts Last month, researchers published a study in the medical science journal called Cureus, entitled “Risk of Suicide and Self-Harm Following Gender-Affirmation Surgery.” The study evaluated 90 million adults in the U.S. It found that people who get sex-mutilating surgeries are more likely to attempt suicide. The study noted, “Individuals who underwent gender-affirming surgery had a 12-fold higher suicide attempt risk than those who did not.”  Pro-life pregnancy centers provided $360 million of services in 2022 This month, the Charlotte Lozier Institute, a pro-life research group, released a report on the impact of pro-life centers in 2022. The U.S. had 2,750 pregnancy resource centers at the time. Overall, they provided over $360 million in pro-life services and goods to individuals and families. That's over $100 million than the services and goods provided in 2019. Demand for pro-life services has increased since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022. Despite this, pro-abortion attorneys general and lawmakers are targeting pro-life pregnancy centers.  Environmental activists vs. Christian New Jersey community For generations, Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association, a Christian group in Ocean Grove, New Jersey, has closed its private beach on Sunday to honor the fourth commandment. Recently, the state's Department of Environmental Protection has been threatening the Christian camp group with fines of $25,000 for every Sunday that they remain closed because the group is allegedly violating beach access laws. As a result of the pressure, the Christian group has relented and opened their private beach on the Lord's Day. Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association said it would challenge the order in court to “preserve our property rights and religious freedom.” Young adults embrace lying, abortion, and sexual perversion And finally, Dr. George Barna released his latest research on Biblical worldview in America. The study noted that younger generations are leading a big shift in our country's morals. Less than half of adults under 40 say the Bible is their guide to morality. Most adults under 40 reject absolute moral truth and embrace lying, abortion, and sexually perverted lifestyles.  Dr. Barna said, “By abandoning the absolute boundaries given to us in the Bible, we have opted for unpredictable and conflicting standards that serve us poorly. You always reap what you sow. America is now harvesting the sad product of what it has been cultivating for the last 40-plus years.” Isaiah 55:6-7 says, “Seek the LORD while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, and He will have mercy on him.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Wednesday, May 29th, in the year of our Lord 2024. Subscribe by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. What Is Really Happening: Interviews with Emily Erin Davis and Dr. Skop

The topic of abortion is making a huge appearance this election year, but political speeches often distort the realities on the ground.  Misinformation and carefully-crafted language can make it easy to think that a vote for abortion is a vote for the empowerment of women while a vote against it endangers women's health, dignity, and welfare.  Today Cinthia interviews two women who are involved in the ongoing battle for the lives of babies in the womb and for legislation that truly protects the health of women and girls.  [A note here:  We know that this topic can be deeply painful for many people, but avoiding it only causes more harm and pain.  If abortion is part of your story, please know that there is help and healing available and that God longs to pour out His mercy on us.  You can grieve; you can heal both from what has been done to you and from what you have done.  Please reach out to safe people for assistance.  Look for a safe, healthy pastor, therapist, or ministry that walks people through these journeys on a regular basis; many pregnancy resource centers have support groups or counseling available for those who have had abortions.] Emily Erin Davis is the Vice President of Communications for Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America.  She is an international communicator, author, and humanitarian who is also the mother of two children born from unplanned pregnancies by the time she was 22 years old.  She recalls being pressured to have abortions in each case, though she was able to withstand that pressure and have both children instead.  Davis confronts the idea that abortion is empowering to women.  She reports that the majority of surveyed women who have had abortions report that their abortions were inconsistent with their own values, with many reporting force or coercion having been used to influence them toward abortion.  Davis indicates that abortion coercion is a reality not being openly discussed, one that is highly relevant to the question of whether individual women's choices are actually the ones being protected by abortion laws.  The majority report having had abortions for non-emergency reasons that had more to do with a lack of financial or emotional support than with a desire to choose abortion.  “This isn't even the first choice of women,” says Davis.  “The pregnancy is not the problem.”  She states that women “want lifelines, not life-enders.”  Meanwhile, of women surveyed who considered abortion but chose instead to give birth, Davis reports that the percentage who now state they love these children and are glad they did not abort is in the “high nineties.”  She states that women with unplanned pregnancies often fear that “your life is over” because of the pregnancy, but that this is not the case.  “You are going to get through this,” she states, emphasizing that there are resources available and people who want to help.  “This is not the end for you or your child.”  She also notes, “Nobody complains that they did not have an abortion.” Davis emphasizes that abortion is a human rights issue.  She reports that the United States is one of only seven countries in the world to allow elective abortion past 20 weeks of gestation, making us a “global outlier” and “a pariah” in the eyes of most countries in the world and categorizing us with countries such as China and Vietnam that are known more generally for human rights violations.  Davis is especially attuned to this concern since she grew up in Taiwan, where her father counseled many who had experienced the carnage of China's abortion laws at that time; she recalls that girls, as well as boys with any kind of prenatal defect, were targeted for abortion at that time and place, though the specific targets of abortion can, she says, “change with the cultural wind.”  Davis indicates that misinformation about the laws on ballots is prevalent right now.  For example, women in Ohio were recently told that they needed to vote for abortion legislation as a way of ensuring they would have access to miscarriage care, though this was untrue.  She says that parental consent and notification laws, conscience laws that protect doctors, etc., are being targeted by proposed laws around the country, particularly the “Women's Health Protection Act,” which strips any and all protections against abortion (e.g., restrictions on the availability of abortion at any point in pregnancy, parental consent and notification laws, conscience laws for doctors, etc.).  U.S. funding is also being channeled toward Planned Parenthood and away from pregnancy resource centers.  Davis states that Biden, when asked to identify when human life begins, stated that this was “a Republican trap” and that he did not have to answer that.  Davis asks, “At what point does the child in the womb receive human rights?  At what point are they worthy of protection?”  Pelosi referred to abortion being important for our nation's economy.  Davis encouraged voters to pursue education about this topic and to know where representatives and other politicians stand; she explained that sbaprolife.org has information on each federal candidate, including stances and voting records.  She encouraged those who are pro-life to “lean into these uncomfortable conversations.” Cinthia agrees with Davis that abortion is “sold as a way to fix things and move on” but that it “ignores the impact to the body and mind of the woman.”  She states that how we value the least of these impacts our own self-worth, and that a society that provides abortion on demand for humans but disallows euthanizing an animal without just cause has lost its perspective.  Even societies that sacrificed infants to pagan gods valued their children more than this, she explains, noting, “Babies were sacrificed to gods because they were valuable;” as horrific as those sacrifices were, our nation is devaluing these children even more by treating them as “throw-aways.”  Cinthia states that our society has developed a mentality that wants to make uncomfortable things simply disappear and that we need to understand our actions matter because we matter. Cinthia visits next with Dr. Ingrid Skop, M.D., FACOG, an OB/Gyn who has delivered over 5,000 babies and is the Vice President and Director of Medical Affairs for the Charlotte Lozier Institute. Her bio, available at https://lozierinstitute.org/team-member/ingrid-skop-m-d-facog/, includes publication of research in multiple peer-reviewed articles regarding maternal mortality, abortion, and women's health; providing expert testimony at the state and federal levels on legislation related to abortion; and opposing politicians who “choose not to follow the science regarding fetal heartbeat and development.”  Dr. Skop reports that misinformation is being used to accomplish political goals and that the reaction to the overturning of Roe v. Wade has been characterized by “fearmongering and lies.”  She states that we have been told maternal mortality is going to increase and that women will not get needed care, but that this is “absolutely untrue.”  Dr. Skop reports that every state with abortion restrictions allows for exception to protect the woman's life, though this is hardly ever needed.  (Dr. Skop explains that it is necessary at times to deliver a baby early in order to save the life of the mother, but that everything is done in these cases to attempt to save the life of the child; actually needing to abort the child for the sake of the mother's medical stability is rare.)  Dr. Skop reports that all states with abortion restrictions allow exceptions for ectopic pregnancies, for example, and that the spread of misinformation about these issues is an attempt to “frighten the public,” including pregnant women and doctors.  Dr. Skop explains that 95-97% of abortions in the U.S. are for financial and social reasons; she states that those who describe tragic medical circumstances to protect abortion access do not know or acknowledge that exceptions always exist in the laws for these circumstances.  She also indicates that the current access to abortion pills is itself medically dangerous to women since these medications are being mailed to anyone who requests them with no legitimate screening for risk factors for taking them (e.g., ectopic pregnancy) or for the existence of coercion; 63% of America's one million abortions last year were performed with these kinds of drugs, though this can occur in ways that are “totally medically unsupervised.”  Even medical data is sometimes used in deceptive ways.  For example, claims are made that chemical abortion is “safer than Tylenol” for the woman, but this is deceptive.   “We have almost no good data,” explains Dr. Skop, because the numbers are not mandatorily reported.  Dr. Skop has cared for many women with physical and mental health complications from abortions, including hemorrhages, infection, and needing surgery.  She has seen the impact on mental health and notes that women are six times as likely to commit suicide in the year following an abortion than if they carry their babies to term.  Dr. Skop reports that women and girls sometimes take abortion pills having been told they are aborting “a clump of cells,” and then are shocked to recognize arms, legs, and a human shape to what is expelled.  She states, “The American public has been gaslighted about this, and euphemisms have been used to the point that people don't even really understand what is happening.” Like Davis, Dr. Skop emphasizes that the demand for abortion is being misrepresented.  She states that most women who have abortions do not want them but feel desperate because of other circumstances; she notes, “There are so many other ways to deal with social problems” in our society.  She also repeatedly refers to the existence of coercion toward abortion by men and others in the lives of pregnant women.  While she does not state that the American public generally opposes abortion, she does state that it is much closer to pro-life than to the anytime-for-any-reason ideology being advocated by politicians.  She also states that approximately 90% of doctors do not do elective abortions and that their representing agencies are advocating their own ideologies and not those of the doctors they represent.  She states that most obstetricians “know they have two patients and want to care for both.” In her years as a psychotherapist and current work as a life coach, Cinthia has also worked with many women who have mental health complications from abortion.  She states that women are biologically wired to love the child with which they become pregnant, that they “can't help but love that child no matter what,” and that, when we encourage women and girls to consider abortion, “we are setting up women to be murdering and then have to live with that for the rest of their life.” Cinthia and Dr. Skop both emphasize that women and girls with unplanned pregnancies may be in difficult situations and often do not realize that there are people who want to help. Like other people in difficult situations, these women and girls need people around them who are “strong enough to help them think through what is happening” and access the many resources that exist.  Cinthia emphasizes to clients considering abortion that, while abortion is sold as a way to make the problem disappear and make life go back to normal, this decision will have implications for the rest of their lives; it is not like going and getting your teeth cleaned or having another medical procedure that simply takes care of a medical issue and frees the patient to move forward in life.  Dr. Skop emphasizes that this is not simply a political issue, but “at its root an intensely spiritual and moral issue” which we “should be unafraid to address from the pulpit.”  Cinthia encourages us as a society to stop “searing our own conscience” so that we see things in a way that is upside-down and backwards, allowing ourselves to do what seems like it will make problems go away but which compounds them astronomically. Again, if you have experienced or participated in abortion in any way, we emphasize that there is help, hope, mercy, and forgiveness.  God can heal, and He does it all the time.  Please go to Him.  Tell Him where you are with this whole issue – honestly and completely.  Let Him give you mercy, protection, and courage.  And then, with His guidance, seek help from safe people who know about the aftermath of abortion and who can help you make this journey.  Grace and peace to you.

Dr. Skop believes the Abortion Kill Pill is deadly for the unborn baby and dangerous for mothers who take it, leading to 4 times the complications as surgical abortions. In 2020, when 500,000 aborted chemically, 25,000 of them went to the emergency room or required surgical follow-up. 63% of mothers who abort these days, do so chemically. On today's episode, we're talking about Iran's recent attack against Israel and why this would never have happened under Donald Trump. Let's just say, the Biden administration is responsible for a lot of disinformation. Are they lying? Or are they just dupes of Hamas terrorists and the pro-abortion lobby?  Two experts join us to talk about how Biden has gotten it so wrong on these very important issues. Our first guest is Dr. Abraham Wyner, he's the incredible statistician who debunked the hockey stick graph. It's Wednesday, December 20th, A.D. 2023. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Chinese Christians continue to be persecuted Members of Early Rain Covenant Church continue to face persecution from the Chinese government. Five years ago, authorities arrested over 100 members of the church located in China's southwestern Sichuan province. The initial arrests resulted in a nine-year prison sentence for Wang Yi, the church's pastor.  Church members faced new detentions on Sunday, December 10, which was also International Human Rights Day. The latest persecution came after the church planned an online prayer meeting to commemorate the initial crackdown in 2018. Mervyn Thomas with Christian Solidarity Worldwide said, “These mass police operations against house churches show the Chinese authorities' utter contempt for universal and inalienable human rights.” Chinese earthquake kills 127 people Speaking of China, the country experienced its deadliest earthquake in years on Monday. A 6.2-magnitude quake hit China's north-central Gansu Province, killing at least 127 people. The disaster left hundreds more injured and thousands of buildings damaged. China is no stranger to deadly earthquakes. A quake in Qinghai Province took 2,700 lives in 2010. And the deadliest earthquake in recent decades killed nearly 90,000 in 2008 in the province of Sichuan. Colorado rules Trump is ineligible to be on presidential ballot The Colorado Supreme Court ruled on Tuesday that former President Donald Trump is ineligible to appear on the state's primary ballot, reports The Epoch Times. It declared that President Trump's speech on and before January 6, 2021, "was not protected by the First Amendment" because it was speech that was "likely to incite such imminent lawlessness and violence." They concluded that Trump is disqualified from holding office, according to the 14th Amendment to the Constitution in Section 3 because he “engaged in insurrection.” However, the court suspended its ruling until January 4, 2024, "pending any review by the U.S. Supreme Court." If the U.S. Supreme Court agrees to review the issue by January 4, the Colorado Secretary of State will be required to continue to include President Trump on the primary ballot. Otherwise, his name will be removed. Appearing on Fox News Channel, George Washington Law Professor Jonathan Turley drew this conclusion. TURLEY: “There was a series of barriers in applying this provision to bar Trump. … In order to establish that he was engaged in insurrection, they go back to speeches in 2016, and they basically daisy chain these speeches to say, ‘Look, he's been at this for a long time.' I think that the factual and legal basis of this opinion is really so porous that the Supreme Court will make fast work of it.” This makes Colorado the first and only state to disqualify President Trump from appearing on a state primary ballot. President Trump has announced he will appeal the decision. Michigan city compelled to give $825,000 to Catholic farmer over discrimination A Michigan city agreed to an $825,000 settlement with a Catholic farmer in a religious liberty case. Steve Tennes with Country Mill Farms sued East Lansing in 2017 after officials barred him from the city's farmers market for his Biblical beliefs about marriage. Genesis 2:24 says, “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” Earlier this year, a federal district court sided with Tennes, saying he is free to participate in the market. Kate Anderson with Alliance Defending Freedom said, “We're pleased to favorably settle this lawsuit on behalf of Steve so he and his family can continue doing what Country Mill does best, as expressed in its mission statement: ‘glorifying God by facilitating family fun on the farm and feeding families.'” Steve appeared on NewsMax TV. TENNES: “We're so blessed to have folks like Ryan Tucker and Kate Anderson from Alliance Defending Freedom that have been on our side now for the last six years to help us stand up so that all Americans can speak freely about what they believe and live out their faith, or whatever beliefs they may have, without the fear of government punishment.” Congressional gridlock The U.S. Congress appears to be in unprecedented gridlock. Democrats hold a slight majority in the Senate, while Republicans hold a slight majority in the House. Plus, House Republicans have faced their own divisions. All this gridlock has stifled legislative business. Axios reports Congress passed only 24 bills this year. That's the lowest number since at least 1989. Despite the gridlock, Congress managed to continue raising the debt ceiling and keep the government funded. Isaiah 1:23 says, “Your princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves; everyone loves bribes, and follows after rewards. They do not defend the fatherless, nor does the cause of the widow come before them.” Pro-life resource centers provided $360 million worth of help A new report from pro-life groups found that pregnancy resource centers provided nearly $360 million worth of materials and services last year. The report found that 2,750 pro-life centers held a total of over 16 million sessions for families in need. They also provided 700,000 free pregnancy tests, 500,000 free ultrasounds, 3.5 million packs of diapers, and much more. Chuck Donovan with the Charlotte Lozier Institute noted that the centers have responded to new challenges. He said, “Such issues as human trafficking, homelessness, domestic abuse, sexually transmitted disease morbidity, and abortion pill regret and reversal have prompted new resilience and response.” Proverbs 24:11 says, “Deliver those who are drawn toward death, and hold back those stumbling to the slaughter.” Anniversary of British ships' departure for Jamestown, Virginia And finally, on this day in history, three ships sailed for the New World to establish the Virginia Company's first settlement in Jamestown, Virginia. The Susan Constant, the Godspeed, and the Discovery departed from London with about 100 passengers on December 20, 1606. Their settlement would become the first permanent English settlement in North America. As director of the Virginia Company, Anglican minister Richard Hakluyt helped start the Jamestown settlement. Back in 1584, he wrote his Discourse on Western Planting to England's Queen Elizabeth I, promoting English colonization in America. The first among his reasons for forming colonies was the “enlargement of the Gospel of Christ.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Wednesday, December 20th in the year of our Lord 2023. Subscribe by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. The pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute recently released abortion estimates for the first six months of 2023. Using these numbers, media outlets quickly announced that pro-life laws after the demise of Roe have been ineffective. Ironically, abortion proponents lament restricted access to abortion while claiming pro-life laws don't work.  However, according to Dr. Michael J. New of the Charlotte Lozier Institute, these numbers “reflect a great deal of potential variance.”   "[T]hese new abortion estimates are based on samples of abortion facilities, not comprehensive surveys. ... For Georgia, their upper abortion estimate is over 80 percent higher than their low estimate. For Florida, their upper estimate is more than 11,000 abortions higher than their low estimate. This much variation raises serious questions about the accuracy of their estimates."  According to Dr. New, “plenty of reliable data collected since the Dobbs decision show that thousands of lives have been saved by strong state-level pro-life laws.”   So, as always, we should stay the course and not be discouraged by the latest alarm-seeking headline.
