This week, over four years later, a report from the Charity commission concluded that Captain Sir Tom Moore's daughter and her husband had committed “serious” misconduct and had gained “significant” financial benefit from links to that charity. The report said that it had not seen evidence of a crime committed by the couple. The family say "that there has never been any misappropriation of funds or unauthorised payments from the charity's bank account, by any member of our family.Last year, Manveen spoke to Times social affairs editor James Beal about the whole affair. The criminal justice system and science are both broadly looking for the same thing - the truth. But in many cases the two don't mix well. Whether it's court cases that attempt to decide the truth of a scientific dispute, or the use of fingerprints, DNA, or statistics by the prosecution in a murder case, a lot can go wrong - and there's a lot at stake.Inspired by the recent discussion, or perhaps lack of discussion, around [a criminal case nobody in the UK can talk about for legal reasons], Tom and Stuart spend this episode looking into what happens when science meets the law.Our favourite online magazine is Works in Progress - so it's particularly pleasing that they're the sponsors of The Studies Show. Thank you for tuning into the SeaBros Fishing Podcast! On this episode, we had the pleasure of sitting down with a long time friend and charter fishing legend, Captain Tom Depersia.Tom has been an avid fisherman, hunter, and outdoorsman his entire life. Our family has had the pleasure of knowing and fishing with Tom and the rest of the Depersias for several decades. Almost all of Tom's children and grandchildren are mates or captains on charter boats and commercial boats in our area. Tom has owned and operated Big Fish Charters in Green Harbor, Massachusetts for over 50 years, and in his career has landed thousands of bluefin tuna. Tom has served on the board of the Stellwagen Charter Boat Association and has represented charter boats in various regulatory initiatives for bluefin tuna and other species in our waters. In this conversation we catch up on life with Tom. We discuss charter fishing, fishing together as families, his winters in Florida and tell a bunch of fish stories. Tom tells tales from the early days of hand-lining giant tuna, the development of trolling squid bars, and talks about what we are seeing now in our fishery. Tom also shares his opinion on a few recent restrictions put on fish throughout our area.Tom has been in the game a long time is always a pleasure to talk to. At age 60, Tom got a job at a shipyard in Panama City, Florida after completing a 5000 mile sailing journey that started in California. He quickly acclimated to the business and got promoted. The company culture was not team based, it was as if the different departments were competing with each other and didn't know they all had the same goal. This doesn't happen on Channel 5 (I expect, don't watch it) but the first 10 mins of the show was not broadcast - but it's here for you now. And the show is then interrupted later for a family emergency. But for a brief few minutes everything worked, with chat about robotic hands, the king's love of kids' pants, the shaming of Captain Tom's daughter and marrying yourself. Plus the resignation of a much loved character.

Although reluctant to go to Las Vegas with her friend for a network marketing convention, Dawn got out of her comfort zone and went anyway. Apparently, it was her date with destiny as the keynote speaker was Robert Kiyosaki. Dawn had heard about his books, but never read any of them. The information she heard was truly life changing. In fact, Rich Dad Poor Dad is The #1 Best-Selling Personal Finance Book - Ever. The Cash Flow Quadrant, is actually Kiyosaki's second book. It goes further in depth about the framework he introduces in the first book. They both books are both worth a read, in Dawn's opinion. How much did you learn about money, finances and how to build wealth at home, or in school? These books really shaped Dawn's financial literacy and empowered her to live the life of her dreams instead of dying at her desk as a lawyer! Listen and learn:1. The four different ways to make money.2. Why the "E" quadrant is the least favorable method.3. How leverage is better than trading time for money.4. Why getting out of your comfort zone can have miraculous results!
