Have you ever donated a photo session to a charity event… and wondered if it was actually worth it?If you want to know how to get booked solid without competing in the online world, you will want to listen and take notes. Today, I'm sharing how I used charity auctions and giveaways to attract ideal clients who invest well and helped my photography business thrive—without discounting my value or feeling salesy. All while supporting causes I truly care about. Back during the 2009–2010 recession, this approach helped me stay visible, attract ideal clients, and generate thousands of dollars in business. I'm breaking down exactly what worked, what didn't, and how to make charity marketing feel intentional instead of exhausting. This episode is full of practical ideas, mindset shifts, and little details that can make a huge difference if you want charity events to actually support your business instead of draining it.In This Episode • How I used charity events to attract ideal portrait clients • Why the right event matters more than doing lots of events • My strategy for gift certificates, refundable deposits, and pre-qualifying clients • Simple display ideas that make your booth or auction table look high-end • Why every charity client deserves the same amazing experience as a full-paying clientA Few Big Takeaways • Charity marketing works best when your ideal clients are already attending the event • A beautiful presentation and strong branding matter more than giving away “more stuff” • Sometimes one great charity partnership is worth more than ten random events • The goal isn't just exposure — it's connection, trust, and creating future clients Memorable ReminderSupporting a cause and building a profitable business do not have to be opposites. When done thoughtfully, charity events can create genuine relationships, beautiful experiences, and real income for your business at the same time.If this episode sparks ideas for you, I'd love to hear about it.Connect with Photography Business Coach Luci Dumas: Website Email: luci@lucidumas.comInstagram FacebookYouTubeNew episodes drop every week — make sure to subscribe so you never miss an inspiring guest or a powerful solo episode designed to help you grow your photography business.

Emily joins The Bret Mega Show to talk about this years "12 Bars Of Charity" event.
BT & Sal kick off the show by discussing Yankees GM Brian Cashman's annual Covenant House Sleep Out, an amazing charitable commitment to raise awareness for youth homelessness. While giving him immense credit for his decade-plus dedication, Sal wonders if Cashman is secretly dreading the night, comparing it to the physical struggle of Boomer's bike tour. The debate heats up with questions about the logistics of the sleepout: How much security is provided? Does he really sleep all night, or is it a "symbolic" few hours? And what does the GM do when nature calls? Ultimately, the hosts conclude that Cashman's long-standing commitment proves he's a true "scrapper" who doesn't tap out, even on a cold New York night.

Hosts Joe Maddon and Tom Verducci begin with the Cubs addressing the struggles of Kyle Tucker. Joe talks about the approach a manager takes when handling a talented player in a rough spot. Tom notes the Yankees and Aaron Judge getting on the same page regarding injuries. Can there be fan interference without the fan actually touching the ball? Home run ratios increased during the last postseason, so which teams could that help or hurt this October? Plus, how much concern do you have for the Astros? The Book of Joe Podcast is a production of iHeart Radio. #fsrSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In 2013, Ghislaine Maxwell brazenly appeared at a high-profile charity gala billed as a front-line defense against human trafficking—an event meant to spotlight and dismantle the very horrors she was complicit in. Photographs from that night show her mingling with celebrities, donors, and advocates, all under the banner of fighting exploitation. Meanwhile, behind closed doors, Maxwell was actively orchestrating the grooming and trafficking of underage girls for Jeffrey Epstein's operation. The optics were more than tone-deaf—they were a calculated performance, designed to mask her role in facilitating one of the most notorious abuse networks in modern memory .What makes this moment particularly disturbing is not just the contradiction of Maxwell's presence—it's how effectively it highlights systemic blind spots in elite philanthropic spaces. This was not a case of someone unknowingly adjacent to wrongdoing; this was a woman under serious suspicion of trafficking-related conduct attending an event explicitly aimed at combating that very crime. Her attendance underscores how wealth, social standing, and calculated public appearances can insulate individuals from scrutiny, even when their private behavior directly conflicts with the cause they publicly support. It raises serious questions about how easily well-connected individuals can exploit the reputational shield of charitable involvement to deflect accountability and delay exposure. To contact me:Bobbycapucci@protonmail.comSource:https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8827667/Ghislaine-Maxwell-pictured-charity-event-stop-sex-trafficking.html
