This week on Finding Your Bliss, Celebrity Interviewer and Bliss Coach Judy Librach is joined by Runway and Cover model Sarah Tahseen. Sarah Tahseen started modelling when she was in her twenties. She stopped shortly thereafter when she had a family. And then, when she turned 50, she decided to give it another go and this time for REAL! In 2023, she attended Coco Rocha's model camp and she has been actively modelling ever since. She mainly shoots fashion, but she also enjoys runway work. She's an actor too, so keep an eye out for her because you definitely will be seeing her on the big screen! Her photos have been published in various magazines and she has walked the runways in Toronto, New York, Milan, Paris and Miami. When Sarah's not slaying it on the runway, or in front of the camera, she's coaching models. She's teaching the necessary techniques so that they can thrive in this competitive industry.  She loves being in front of a camera and enjoys working with photographers who share her passion and creative approach. She's excited and proud to represent herself as a mature model, as well as her demographic of ladies who are 50+ and fabulous.  As she says  “Age is just a number and fabulous is eternal.” Also on the program, we have super-talented singer/songwriter Shanaya Patel! Born with an innate gift for captivating audiences, the 22-year-old sensation, Shanaya Patel, is more than an artist; she's a mesmerizing storyteller. The Mississauga-born muse, of South Asian descent, weaves her magic through the realms of pop music. Shanaya's musical journey kicked off at the young age of 6, when she already became hooked on performing. At 11, she began crafting personal stories into melodies, establishing the groundwork for her distinct musical identity. In a world inspired by Ariana Grande, Alicia Keys and JP Saxe, Shanaya's deep vocals and piano artistry create a vibe that's pure enchantment. Her YouTube cover of Julia Michaels' "Issues," earned her 4.1 million votes for her MTV "Cover of the Month" nomination in 2017. Notably, in 2022, Shanaya signed with daCosta Talent, fortifying her presence in the ever-evolving landscape of the entertainment industry and embarking on her journey through the world of voiceover and on-camera acting. With 70k+ streams across all platforms, tracks like "Not Bitter" (May 2023) and the summer bop, "Good Company"(July 2023) mark milestones in Shanaya's career. The singer, songwriter and actor has performed at the likes of The Danforth Music Hall and The Opera House in Toronto, adding star power to her journey. After posting a snippet of her original song on Instagram, a moment that garnered a staggering 1.4 million views, she followed her viral reel and released the highly anticipated "August Twenty-Second" in August 2023. Currently, she's in the studio in Toronto recording a new set of songs, all set to grace the upcoming record. To follow Shanaya on social media, visit @shanayazpatel. The first time I witnessed Anvil (twice in one night!) was at The Danforth Music Hall when they opened for Motorhead on their Ace of Spades tour. Lights went down and a mop-topped crazed guitarist ran through the crowd in full guitar-on-stun mode by way of introduction. They definitely got my attention ... so much so that I still call myself a fan some 44 years (and counting!) later. (In fact, this seasoned concert goer hasn't seen any other band as many times as I've taken in these Canuckleheads in a live setting.) Here The Mighty Decibel curates the Canadian band's best 40 minutes from their first three classic albums for your listening and headbanging pleasure. Let the bedroom games begin!!! Keepin It Real w/Caramel had a great conversation with Pop Singer, Songwriter, and Musician Shanaya Patel. She is so amazing and very talented. We spoke about her journey in the music industry and so much more. Shanaya is very humble and so excited about her journey. Canadian pop singer, songwriter, and musician Shanaya Patel brings honesty and originality to her music that has the music industry paying attention. The confident, heartfelt voice combined with her passion at the piano brings lyrics to life. From a very young age, Patel knew what she wanted, and it was more than evident that she had the talent to go with the dream. Taking her cue from a world inspired by Ariana Grande, Alicia Keys, and JP Saxe, Patel worked hard to perfect her craft and to make her music her own. The singer/ songwriter's YouTube cover of Julia Michaels “Issues” earned 4.1 million votes for her MTV ‘Cover of The Month' nomination. In 2022, ready to step into the light, Patel signed with daCosta Talent, garnering her a spot in the changing entertainment industry, from music to voiceover and on-camera acting. It's safe to say Shanaya Patel is placed to soar. Following the success of Patel's two singles, “Not Bitter” and “Good Company,” expectations are high for the rising artist. With her growing popularity, Patel took the stage at many events, including appearances at iconic music venues The Danforth Music Hall and The Opera House in Toronto to rave reviews. In 2023, Patel released a small part of an original song on Instagram, earning a remarkable 1.4 million views. Patel followed with the full release of her single “August Twenty-Second.” The rest is history. The pop sensation has proven she is on her way with grace and maturity far beyond her age. One thing for sure is Shanaya Patel's voice is a gift to her and to anyone who listens. Shanaya Patel is in the studio working on new music to be released soon. Together with American Songwriter, we had the pleasure of interviewing Michael Bernard Fitzgerald over Zoom video! Michael Bernard Fitzgerald is a Canadian singer/songwriter who has collected an audience of fans across North America drawn to simple honest words and a genuine smile. Having released 4 full-length albums to date, Fitzgerald has spent his career since 2006 creating music, touring, developing as a songwriter, and connecting with audiences. Fitzgerald’s unique and innovative ideas coupled with his inherent warmth allow him to engage with people in a way that always leaves them meaningfully connected. After over a decade of working with labels, creating songs with top-tier L.A. songwriters and producers including Jon Levine (Drake, Dua Lipa), Brian West (Maroon 5, K’naan), and Dennis Herring (Ra Ra Riot, Modest Mouse) on About You, and spending some time in the charts with “I Wanna Make it With You” (2016) and “One Love” (2016), Fitzgerald has finally found himself and a calm, rooted, unfeigned sound at home. A career of touring across Canada and around the world sharing the stage with artists like Bryan Adams, Ben Harper, Dan Mangan, Sam Roberts, Joel Plaskett, and Kings of Leon has brought Michael back to his hometown, Calgary Alberta, to create his newest record Love Valley. If it was in a small club or larger theatre like the Vogue in Vancouver, the Danforth Music Hall in Toronto, Jack Singer Concert Hall in Calgary, or on the big stages at a festivals like Calgary Folk Festival, Winnipeg Folk Festival, Firefly Festival or Mountain Jam (to name a few) the spirit of honest connection with people has always existed in Fitzgerald’s performances.Today, he knows the value of time spent living in the moment and continues to go forward fostering the experience of connecting one song, one room, one fan at a time. We want to hear from you! Amish Patel joins Jimmer Lowe for an Episode of Q'd Up. Amish’s life began as a classic fish out of water tale. From a young age he gained perspectives on both Indian and Canadian cultures and learned to deal with discrimination and xenophobia through humour. Amish loved comedy from day one but he still obtained an Aerospace Engineering degree. After literally becoming a rocket scientist, Amish made up for lost time in comedy by writing and producing his own sketch comedy show called Fade to Brown. He produced sold out shows with crowds of over seven hundred people, gained media attention from NOW Magazine to the CBC, and acquired the funding to executive produce a sketch comedy show for Rogers Television. After Fade to Brown, Amish focused his attention on stand-up comedy and his online presence. Building a loyal online following and racking up hundreds of thousands of views on his comedy videos and becoming the host of Second City’s Diversity night. Not bad for a guy who used to work on jet engines! Amish also focuses his time on acting. He can currently be seen in a recurring role on the Emmy-Award winning series Dino Dana (TVO, Amazon and Nickelodeon). He has also appeared on Torontopia (CBC Comedy), Saving Hope (CTV), Man Seeking Woman (FX), and Odd Squad (TVO). As a stand up he recently opened for SNL alumni Tim Meadows, and Iliza Schlesinger to a packed house at the Danforth Music Hall. His original sketch comedy show Melting Pot was picked, from hundreds of submissions, by Kevin Hart at the Just for Laughs festival. And, Amish knows how airplanes work. Did we cover that? Great!

Fight Back with Libby Znaimer

Libby's guest is Lorne Bozinoff, President of the Forum Research Group. One in four Canadians say the SNC Lavalin scandal will influence their vote in the October election, and a new Nanos survey indicates the political fallout appears to be growing. Before Jody Wilson Raybould's public testimony on Wednesday alleging high level government pressure and veiled threats in the case seventeen percent of Canadians said the SNC Lavalin scandal will be a factor when they vote this fall. Two days after the hearing the number of concerned respondents jumped to 26 percent. Meanwhile, it appears the Prime Minister is trying to change the dialogue from the SNC Lavalin scandal to the issue of climate change. Justin Trudeau will speak at what is being billed as a climate action rally tonight at the Danforth Music Hall in Toronto. His appearance comes ahead of the launch of Liberal election-year radio ads which will air this week in four provinces where the federal government is imposing a carbon tax - Ontario, New Brunswick, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.

Do Make Say Think is an instrumental band whose members all call Toronto, Ontario home. A functioning outfit for more than 20 years, Do Make Say Think’s core configuration consists of Justin Small, Charles Spearin, Ohad Benchetrit, David Mitchell, and James Payment, and together they’ve toured the world and released some hugely influential records. Their latest album is called Stubborn Persistent Illusions, it’s out now via Constellation Records, and will bring the band to a city, likely near you, later this year. A couple of days after their triumphant album release show at the Danforth Music Hall on June 10, 2017, I went to Charlie’s house where I met with him, Justin, and Ohad for a conversation about cinematic music and film scoring awards, the influence of the musical suite, Pictures at an Exhibition by the Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky, generic signifiers like ‘post-rock,’ how drummer Jimmy Payment almost had his foot amputated in the weeks leading up to the aforementioned Danforth Music Hall show, how Charles must balance his duties in Broken Social Scene with those in Do Make Say Think, and much, much more. Sponsored by Pizza Trokadero, the Bookshelf, and Planet Bean Coffee.

Skepta was in Toronto last week for CMW, he performed at the sold out Danforth Music Hall on the day of his album release Konnichiwa. I submitted a request to CMW for an interview with Skepta and I was told he wasn't doing any press. I found out Skepta was doing a meet and greet at Play De Record and I decided to go in hopes of interviewing him. I asked around four people in Skepta's team and everyone gave me the same answer that he wasn't doing any press. A few hours later, when Skepta finished signing albums for his fans, I personally asked if I could interview him for five minutes and he agreed! This is the only interview Skepta has done in Toronto and I hope you enjoy it!We talked about the similarities between U.K and Toronto mandem, why he feels the people around you can be the difference between life and death and how he persisted for over a decade in his career. Each and every Wednesday we'll be uploading a brand new interview with a guest we feel that you should know about.
