Today we're talking about lady parts with Dr. Sherry Ross. She is an award winning OBGYN, health expert, author of She-ology and has a segment on Ellentube called “Lady Parts” with Sarah Hyland. Her goal is to give women the means to take charge of their health at every stage of their lives. Today we're asking all of your vagina questions - yes, especially the ones you're too embarrassed to ask yourself (like what condoms to buy, red flag smells, BV, labido, all of the above!). This is the episode you want to share with your friends so we all have access to this important information about our bodies and how we can protect and care for them. “KNOW WHAT'S NORMAL SO THEN YOU CAN UNDERSTAND WHAT'S ABNORMAL, BECAUSE THERE'S MANY THINGS THAT AFFECT THE PH BALANCE, ODOR AND TASTE OF THE VAGINA.” - DR. SHERRY What we talk about: What happened when Raeann made the first move to approach guys in Denver Do you still feel like you need your parent's approval even as an adult? Which foods influence the smell of your vagina The best/safest products for cleaning and moisturizing down there Shaving vs waxing vs laser: does it matter? Why some women have more UTIs than others The 411 on IUDs (and how to make insertion less painful) How often you should get a pap smear When to start freezing your eggs Factors that affect labido and how to increase yours Why you should use condoms for oral sex and every time Why a “clean” STD test still isn't enough to avoid condoms Ask away: how do I get over someone who just broke my heart? “MEN TEND TO HAVE AN ORGASM WITHIN 3-5 MINUTES. WOMEN, WE'RE 13-20, SO IF THE AVERAGE FOREPLAY IS WITHIN 13 MINUTES, WHICH IT USUALLY IS, THEN WE'RE OUT OF LUCK. IF YOU THINK ABOUT THE MOST COMMON REASON WOMEN ARE DRY, IT'S BECAUSE WE AREN'T GIVEN THE TIME WE NEED TO GET OUR ENGINES REVVED.” - DR. SHERRY New podcast episodes of Confident Collective drop every Tuesday. Gregg Garfield is the owner of CardConnect E.V. and Chip In, a credit card processing company. His girlfriend, Anneliese Johnson (AJ) is a mother of two teenage daughters and a wealth manager. Gregg and AJ heartedly support the peaceful protests for Black Lives Matter, but they’re concerned about the spread of coronavirus as large groups stand elbow to elbow with many civilians, cops, and firefighters not wearing masks. They know first hand the horrific effects of this novel virus that flourishes in crowds. When Gregg Garfield left for a ski trip adventure in Italy at the end of February, he had no idea 10 days later he would begin his most difficult journey to date- fighting for his life. On March 5, Gregg became Patient Zero as he checked himself into St. Joseph's Providence Hospital in Burbank with serious Covid-19 symptoms. Gregg was put on a ventilator for 31 days and was given a less than 1% chance of survival. He had four collapsed lungs, kidney failure, got MRSA, had a pulmonary embolism, and had sepsis all over his body...and yet he survived. His "Village" prayed for him, toasted him nightly with tequila- his favorite, meditated, danced, and supported him in unmeasurable ways. Sixty-four days after entering the hospital with EMTs wearing hazmat suits, he walked out holding his girlfriend, AJ’s, and his sister’s, Stephanie Garfield-Bruno’s arms. The sustained lack of circulation to his fingers and toes caused them to turn black, similar to a frostbite injury. He is scheduled for additional surgeries for amputation and will need more physical and occupational therapy. His lust for life, gratitude to be alive, and will to conquer any mountain make him a true walking hero who will eventually have bionic fingers. In this episode, Gregg and AJ share the harrowing story of his miraculous survival and how Patient Zero became an iconic image of hope, not just for the incredible doctors and nurses who treated him, but for the other patients and their families dealing with this very unpredictable novel virus. Gregg and AJ are here today to educate and inspire, and I promise you will love their love story. Today on episode #5 of the Perfectly Wonderfully Made Podcast, I chat with my friend Dani Larimore. Dani is a mama to two beautiful little kiddos. She tells us her story of falling in love with the man of her dreams, their struggle with infertility, and the birth of her first baby in her local hospital. She talks about how life with her new baby are some of her favorite moments to look back on. Dani shares about getting pregnant with her second baby with the help of fertility medication. We talk about how Dani’s life changed two years ago this month. Her husband very unexpectedly went home to be with Jesus while she was 16 weeks pregnant with their second child. Dani shares so honestly with us what walking through that tragedy was like for her. She walks us through her anxiety, grief, and loss. Her hope in the Lord through devastation is incredible. Dani shares her birth story with her second baby and how she faced giving birth without her husband by her side. We chat about her dreams for her kids. How she continues to pursue joy, and vision for her future. The Lord is so clearly continuing the good work he has started in Dani’s life.
