In this episode, Steve Fretzin and Jennifer Gillman discuss:Building rainmaking as a sustainable, early-career practiceShifting mindset to overcome fear and unlock visibilityUsing small, consistent actions to compound business developmentGaining autonomy by moving from service partner to rainmaker Key Takeaways:Becoming a happy rainmaker is not a late-career scramble but a long game that should begin as early as law school or the first years of practice. By consistently maintaining relationships with classmates and peers, lawyers build familiarity and trust over time. This approach replaces transactional job-seeking with organic, referral-based growth.A core barrier to business development is the fear of judgment, captured by the reminder that what other people think of you is none of your business. This mindset shift frees lawyers to show up on LinkedIn, speak publicly, and introduce themselves without self-consciousness. Confidence grows through action rather than perfection.Rainmaking does not require massive time blocks but thrives on small, intentional habits repeated consistently. Even 15 to 20 minutes a week spent nurturing relationships or learning LinkedIn and AI tools can create long-term leverage. Like compound interest, steady effort builds momentum and results.Rainmakers gain control over clients, schedules, and priorities, while service partners remain dependent on others for work and timing. Building a book of business early reframes BD as an investment in future autonomy rather than an added burden. This shift creates greater flexibility and career control. This cult favorite was directed by Jules Bass and animated by the legendary Tadahito Mochinaga. Today, we're wrapping up the Universal Monsters with CREATURE OF THE BLACK LAGOON! The Monsterverse jumps into the Atomic Age of the '50s as a group of scientists/archeologists venture on a fossil-finding expedition in the Amazon. What are they looking for? An evolutionary missing link between animals of the sea and land, teased by a webbed long-fingered claw found in a cliff face. But this undisturbed lagoon holds on to its ecological history much longer than expected. The Gill-Man breathes the past into modern day, a survivor of history. And he's not too pleased with a bunch of whites fucking with his home.I love this movie. We're no longer chained to the folklore of yore but rather using their examples to look forward to the promise of the future, the what-ifs of space travel and colonization. By examining the Gill-men and other sea creatures (about which we know woefully little), we can potentially grab clues as to how to adapt ourselves to strange new worlds. But lest we forget, all discovery comes with responsibility. It's only new to us. It's old hat to the Gill-man. Adam Gillman is the Co‑founder and President of Hiya Health, a children's wellness company that reimagines kids' vitamins by delivering sugar‑free, transparency‑focused nutrition through clean, science‑backed products. A seasoned entrepreneur, Adam has built and scaled consumer‑facing businesses in health and fitness, including CycleHouse. Motivated by his experience as a father, he teamed up with Darren Litt to disrupt the gummy vitamin market, creating Hiya's signature chewables using real food ingredients and recycling‑minded packaging. Under his leadership, Hiya has grown into a fast‑scaling, subscription‑based brand that drew the attention of USANA, which acquired a controlling stake in late 2024. In this episode… Many brands invest heavily in influencer marketing, yet few see consistent, scalable growth. Despite having access to creators and content, campaigns may fall short due to misaligned messaging, lack of authenticity, or a focus on short-term wins. How do you build a long-term influencer strategy that converts and drives sustainable revenue? Adam Gillman, an expert in DTC growth strategy, shares how his team scaled a wellness brand by rejecting surface-level influencer tactics and instead focusing on creator relationships rooted in trust, relevance, and storytelling. Adam emphasizes selecting influencers not by follower count but by credibility with niche audiences, especially in sensitive markets like children's wellness. He advises brands to set clear creative guardrails while allowing influencers freedom in tone and delivery and to always tie campaigns to measurable, ROI-driven offers. By prioritizing authentic partnerships over ad placements and building a strong subscription model, Adam reveals a playbook for long-term customer retention and predictable growth. In this episode of the Minds of Ecommerce podcast, Raphael Paulin-Daigle interviews Adam Gillman, Co-Founder and President of Hiya Health, about scaling with influencer-led marketing. Adam shares how authenticity outperforms reach, why UGC isn't always effective on-site, and how a subscription-only model lessened Hiya's market risk. Other highlights include creator compliance strategies, performance-focused partnerships, and long-term brand loyalty.

It seemed to have gills or matted hair that looked like gills on its face and head; two yellow eyes leered out from under a prominent forehead. That's the description one witness had for the thing in City Park, New Orleans. (The City Park Thing) *** Anyone who knew the little family before that July day would say that one thing was certain, Vernon Plager loved his wife and daughter more than anything. But then Paul Reed moved to the neighborhood, and it led to more than just a broken marriage… it led to murder. (Wrapped in Ivy) *** The moose is said to be a ghostly white and a giant of stature and weight, antlers bigger than any other moose ever seen. Considered a harbinger of doom, it was first reported in 1891… but has been seen as recently as 2002. Could this giant, ghostly moose at Lobster Lake, North Dakota actually have existed – or still exist? (The Specter Moose of Lobster Lake) *** For the citizens of Brabant Province, Belgium, the era of the Brabant Killers, left behind traumatic wounds that have never really healed. Making matters worse is the fact that the killers were never brought to justice.
