Tim Choate is a pioneering force in Billfish Conservation and one of the most influential figures in the world of sport fishing. Growing up in Islamorada, Florida, Tim was introduced to the world of blue-water fishing by his close friend, Bucky Stark. His passion for marlin fishing quickly became an obsession, leading him to set numerous records that left the sport stunned. In 1995, his boat Magic caught an astonishing 2,140 billfish in a single year. Choate's fishing adventures took him to the Great Barrier Reef, where he spent five years honing his skills. In 1982, alongside Captain Peter Wright, he helped land the season's largest black marlin, weighing an impressive 1,212 pounds. While Tim's early career was defined by record-breaking catches and an insatiable drive to land the biggest fish, his passion eventually shifted toward conservation. Witnessing the detrimental impact of commercial fishing on marlin and sailfish populations, Tim became a key advocate for their protection. His efforts culminated in the passing of the Billfish Conservation Act of 2012, which banned the commercial sale of marlin and sailfish in the continental U.S. In addition to his legislative work, Tim co-founded the Billfish Foundation, an organization dedicated to highlighting the economic and ecological value of recreational sport fishing over commercial harvesting. He was also an early advocate for circle hooks, pushing for their use long before scientific studies proved their effectiveness in reducing fish mortality from gut-hooking. Tim's contributions to the sport and conservation were recognized with numerous honors, including: 2012: Frank Johnson Trophy for Personal Achievement in Advancement of Big Game Sport Fishing, awarded by Guy Harvey Outpost. 2013: IGFA Conservation Award. 2016: Inducted into the International Game Fish Association (IGFA) Hall of Fame. Tim Choate's legacy is one of unmatched dedication to the preservation of billfish and the broader marine environment, and his impact continues to be felt by anglers and conservationists alike.

Hello from ETH CC my Limited Partner and BCC my dad; I am doing something grand for my life and for this cycle.I am flailing from the depths of the critical reality that I have lost hope on everything except resurrecting Terra Luna. Looking at my surroundings and my contemporaries what with their homoerotic panels and pitches that lack theatrical passion, I am deeply embarrassed to be in this industry; After all I went to Choate and Westley before getting kicked out of both due to my light kleptomania and treason, but beside the point, I am simply too #wellBredwellRead to discuss the Merits of security that no one asked for. The only oracle I need is the one from me and Madonna's psychic. I snuck through customs because I don't do those kind of lines and am currently on the lam, podcast recording from a Side Event that I snuck into under my Alias Eva Braun. Drenched in sweat and my 1990 Versace jumpsuit and glued to my palm pilot, I pondered whether when I am caught by the Brusselian Authority that my quest to discover whether Symbiotic or Eigenlayer will bring me more points will impress them enough to excuse my breakage of a multi milly international humanitarian laws. This podcast is short, quick, and has terrible audio due to my clandestine operation and recorded in a stairwell. Ipso Facto, I have nothing to report except that for all intents and purposes I do not know what intents are. I do know that I want AI to do absolutely everything for me including play with my stepchildren and take care of my husband; thus with my my dwindling trust fund and alimony respectively I am willing to pawn my dead mother's ring on an AI rollup that vacuums my plane and teaches my child the questionable tradeoffs of being a good person. I digress, My guest is Hester Pierce, a darling woman whom I met at Janet Sartin facialist during the Nancy Regan Red Dress era and have stayed in each other's circles. During the Frank Dodd After Party at Tenjune, we smoked la meme Menthol cig marveling at her accomplishment and our shared qualities. We both have porcelain fair skin and a penchant for amethysts. We talk about her elegant disputes with Gary Gansler despite both of them being thin and rich as well as her overall career history. She knows a lot about securities law and I try to evade them. I comment on the charitable acts of kindness that Hester goes out of her way to stomach meeting with the Degen Plebians of the ecosystem unlike myself, and am intrigued by her alleged bullish sentiment. Alas this podcast was awkward because I was so nervous to be amongst greatness. Its lonely at the top, and even lonelier climbing up. Nevertheless, it was a pleasure talking with the ultimate crypto Hot Mom. #GlitterLedger

EPISODE 304 - E. Vernon F. Glenn - Let Life Stick To You, From Lawyer to Author, Share Your StoryE. Vernon F. Glenn is a trial lawyer, crime writer, and founder of Cooper River Books. Knowing he was in it for the long haul while embarking on his writing journey, he decided to create an imprint of his own to carry his work. Cooper River Books came to him while hiking up the iconic LowCountry ‘mountain', the Ravenel Bridge and the views are just some of the best around. A native Tar Heel, Glenn was educated not only at Choate, UNC-Chapel Hill, and Wake Forest University School of Law, but also by digging deep ditches, running a jackhammer, and hauling block and bricks every summer to the tune of starting at 60 cents an hour. Glenn has been a practicing litigator for more than 40 years and adores the courtroom, as well as Southern people. He does not like fakes, frauds, pedants, poseurs, and better-thans. Comfortable in the cocoons of luxury and in the back alleys of slums, he has never started a fight, but has finished plenty. Glenn has scouted and handicapped football and basketball games, has testified before Congress, and has traveled all about. This story has been flailing about in his mind for years, so one day about a year ago, he sat down and began to write it. Like becoming a trial lawyer, it just spontaneously poured out. He thinks there is much more to say. Glenn now lives in Charleston, South Carolina, and too has a perch in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, in the beautiful old R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company Headquarters Building. Also, it would be fair to say that he finds his way back to Chapel Hill on a happy and regular basis. He stays busy.https://www.postandcourier.com/moultrie-news/news/lawyer-turned-author-explores-new-career-later-in-life/article_d2c32b2c-8d97-11eb-b788-2f2345f6b960.htmlhttps://www.cooperriverbooks.com/___https://livingthenextchapter.com/A conference where the novelist becomes a podcaster, the motivational speaker dives into influencer marketing, and the charismatic TikTok creator learns the pull of captivating speeches. We knew it was coming and here it is. The Alliance brass has interrupted the season with their latest call to remove Thanksgiving Day as Connecticut's crown jewel of sporting events. The idea: Dump a century's worth tradition in favor of a balanaced schedule based on class, 50% more (whyyy??) playoff teams, the ending the season before the wrestling mats get rolled out. A win for 12 schools' winter programs and 24 middling football teams, perhaps. Naturally, our intrepid podcast hosts have their own opinions on this latest move to remove Thanksgiving Day football, and they lay out their pros and cons of this budding tradition of yearly CT high school football playoff ideas. This week's special guest star is none other than JOE STOCHMAL, the only coach Oxford's ever known. His program is 8-0 for the first time and on pace to reach the state playoffs for the first time, even as they head to Jarvis Stadium to face unbeaten NVL rival Ansonia on Thursday night. Stox gives us the lowdown on his program and, as a member of the CIAC football committee, shows us the roadmap on how playoff proposals become CIAC law. He also gives us his personal opinion on the Alliance proposal. In the meantime, check out highights from a handful of Week 9's biggest games, including: No. 3 Maloney rallying past Southington; North Haven, sans coach Tony Sagnella, knocking off Matt Jeffery-less No. 2 Cheshire; and, finally, Choate's 17-14 victory over Avon Old Farms in the most anticipated Prep school game of the year, since last year. It's a jam-packed and long episode. But, with this last full week of non-Thanksgiving football, why not spread our wings a bit? So join us, won't you? It was a weekend of firsts across the state as October drew to a close. Notre Dame-Fairfield is 7-0 after beating Masuk for the first time since 2005. Coming off its first loss of the season, No. 7 West Haven handed No. 4 Newtown its first loss. Shelton, meanwhile, handed No. 6 North Haven its first on-field loss of the season while returning to the top 10 poll for the first time in a month. Up north, Manchester rallied to defeat Berlin 27-21 and is 5-1 for the first time since 2008 (a fact we didn't learn 'til after). Windham rallied to hand Stonington its first loss of the season. Back south, Wilton defeated Darien for the first time since 2007. And FIVE teams simultaneously earned their first victories of the season. Greenwich is still first in the latest GameTimeCT Top 10 football poll, but St. Joseph was the first team to hold the Cards under 30 points since Stamford did it Week 2. (Greenwich still won, 23-9, and might have become the first team to unofficially clinch a CIAC playoff spot. In Preps, Salisbury became the first team to beat Cheshire Academy. Everybody's anxious to see who'll emerge first in the Founders League when Choate and Avon Old Farms meet Saturday. This is also our first week without a guest. Coincidence? Hmm...
