At long last, Seth (https://twitter.com/snzarate) is back on the stoop! Arnold and Helga dance around their complicated relationship yet again in “Girl Trouble,” where Helga's thinly veiled love for the football headed kid comes to a head during a group project in history class. Helga's ribbing pushes Arnold to his breaking point, earning him detention and some much-needed humility, as Grandpa parallels their tumultuous relationship with one he had with a young girl named Gertie back in the day… Arnold's in charge of entertainment for the school dance in “School Dance,” and much to the chagrin of his schoolmates, he's picked oldhead favorite and crooner Dino Spumoni for one last swing. Will the kids come around to see that his choice is so out he's actually in? School Dance King Seth weighs in! Wanna see more Hey Arnold! stuff? How about some fun, goofy posts? The Aldrich Family, a popular radio teenage situation comedy (1939-1953), was also presented in films, television and comic books. In the radio series' well-remembered weekly opening exchange, awkward teen Henry's mother called, "Hen-reeeeeeeeeeeee! Hen-ree Al-drich!", and he responded with a breaking adolescent voice, "Com-ing, Mother!". Henry Aldrich was an endearingly bumbling kid growing awkwardly into adolescence, and The Aldrich Family often revolved around Henry's misadventures with the girls and with his friends.Henry Aldrich was the creation of playwright Clifford Goldsmith. Aldrich began on Broadway as a minor character in Goldsmith's play What a Life. Produced and directed by George Abbott, The actor who brought Henry to life on stage was 20-year-old Ezra Stone, who was billed near the bottom as the 20th actor in the cast. Stone was also employed as the play's production assistant. When Rudy Vallee saw the play, he asked Goldsmith to adapt it into some sketches for his radio program, and this was followed in 1938 by a 39-week run of a sketch comedy series on The Kate Smith Hour with Stone continuing in the role of Henry. Kate Smith's director, Bob Welsh, is credited with the creation of the "Hen-reeeeeeeeeeeee! Hen-ree Al-drich!" opening, which eventually became one of the most famous signature sounds in radio. After finding an audience with Kate Smith's listeners, The Aldrich Family was launched in its own series as a summer replacement program for Jack Benny in 1939 on NBC. The Aldriches survived its replacement status and ran from 1939 to 1944. After a brief hiatus, the show moved to CBS, running on Fridays from 1944 until 1946 with sponsors Grape Nuts and Jell-O before moving back to NBC from 1946 to 1951 on Thursdays and, then, as a sustaining program in its final run of September 21, 1952 to April 19, 1953 on Sundays.

John Swan OAM, better known as Swanee, was born John Archibold Dixon Swan in Glasgow, Scotland in 1952, and migrated to Australia with his family in 1961. John is an Australian rock singer who started his musical career as a Drummer when he was 11, when he joined the Elizabeth Caledonian Pipe Band. When his mother remarried in the mid-1960s, he was the only child to keep the surname of his biological father. John left school aged 13 and joined his first professional band Happiness, as a drummer when he was fourteen. When he was seventeen, he enlisted in the Australian Army, and was discharged after two years of service. In early 1974 he was the drummer with The James Wright Band, moving on to Jim Keays' Southern Cross for a short time. In 1975 he joined Adelaide band Fraternity MK II replacing Bon Scott on vocals for two years. In 1977 he became the vocalist with Feather. This band had been known as Blackfeather in the early 1970s, but by 1977 no original members were left so the name was shortened. Feather recorded one single with John, "Girl Trouble", before he left in 1978 to establish himself as a solo artist. Under the name Swanee by which he was already known, he released his debut solo single "Crazy Dreams" in 1979. An album, Into the Night, and several other singles followed. In late 1981, his version of "If I Were a Carpenter" became a national hit, peaking at number 5. The single was followed by the 1982 studio album This Time It's Different that spawned another two hits, "Temporary Heartache" and "Lady What's Your Name". In 1987, he replaced Angry Anderson as lead singer of The Party Boys. John's time with the band proved to be the group's most successful period. A cover of the John Kongos song "He's Gonna Step On You Again" peaked at number 1 on the Australian charts. The band's self-titled album made the Australian top 20. He remained with the band until 1989 before going solo again. In 2015, John was announced as South Australia's Senior Australian of the Year, and in 2017, recognised for his work with various charitable organizations, he was appointed an Order of Australia Medal (OAM). If you have enjoyed this interview please share the link! Music: Intro "Band It About" written and recorded by Catherine Lambert & Michael Bryant. Sami explains how the band came together in 2008, building a recording studio, how he learned about recording with other engineers, and putting out his first record. He talks about playing full time, being a music teacher, in addition to how he taught himself to play the guitar and writing his own music. 25:15 – Sami discusses what his back up quest would be if he didn't play music, which is playing in the NFL.
