Death Separates the Fleshly From the Spiritual (10) (Audio) David Eells - 7/11/21 Clean Up to Escape Faction Attack Andrew Gelinas - 7/5/21 (David's notes in red) (This dream is a warning against being distracted while faction attacks are planned against the body and we should be getting cleaned up so we will have power to do spiritual warfare against it.) In my dream, our home was like a high-rise condo. (A condominium, called "condo" for short, is a privately-owned individual unit within a community of other units. In other words, it is like the body of Christ, except in this smaller case it seems to be the Body of UBM.) It was nothing like the real house we rent. I started walking to our bathroom (To get cleaned up and get rid of spiritual waste.), by walking through an outside breezeway. My Biden supporting neighbor's door was across from my bathroom door and was closed. I could hear him talking with someone inside. (The factious hide and shoot at the righteous from darkness. Psa 11:2 For, lo, the wicked bend the bow, They make ready their arrow upon the string, That they may shoot in darkness at the upright in heart.) Then, it was as if he sensed me outside, because he began to speak a quiet, cautious tone. (Because of these wicked, the righteous must be cleaned up to escape their traps, which they will fall into.) Then I went into my bathroom. In the natural, we have a small bathroom with a small bathtub/shower. This bathroom in the dream was more like a professional sports team clubhouse shower. It was very large, with multiple shower heads in the large walk-in, and a large steamy jacuzzi that looked very inviting with jets churning the warm water. Then, I disrobed to take a shower when an older woman in a white towel came around the corner. (I would have already been showered, clean, and dressed in a white garment of my own by now, if I hadn't let myself become distracted with all the nice features of the bathroom.) This startled me. Then half a dozen other neighbors quickly came into the large shower room. I thought to myself “What in the world?!” They were all very friendly, but I didn't feel comfortable with all these other people in there with me while I was indecent. I covered myself the best I could while my neighbors discussed a sort of schedule for when each person would take their turn to shower. It was now apparent to me, that our shower room was in fact a communal bathhouse we shared with our neighbors in UBM. (This can represent larger UBM. The way Christians get cleaned up is by openly confessing their nakedness or sins to others. Its a communal cleansing. Jas 5:16 Confess therefore your sins one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The supplication of a righteous man availeth much in its working. 1Jn 1:7-9 but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.) Then my wife came into the room and said something to her friend who was standing to my right. The thirty-something year old man had dark brown hair, a short trimmed beard, and wore a ball cap with the bill low down on his forehead. (It looked like Jesus keeping a low profile.)(Jesus not being lifted up or admired because other material things are.) My wife then showed him and I a hot wheels toy car. The toy car was new in its cardboard and plastic package. (Cars can represent a vehicle and mode of transportation, which our natural life is for the spiritual man.) I think she got it as a gift for one of our sons. When she handed it to me, I used the rectangular shaped pack to feebly try to further cover myself. (Most people do cover their nakedness with distracting things admired by men. Covering our sin does not get rid of it as repentance and confession does.) I did this with an uncomfortable smirk, as It was obviously not going to give me much help. Then the man to my right, who had a very comforting presence said in a soft, empathetic tone, “It's time to call on Jesus.” I was reminded of Revelation 3:18 I advised you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself, and the shame of your nakedness will not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see. Then the scene changed. The same group and I were now standing on the ground level outside in the building's parking area. There was an identical apartment building a hundred or so yards across the way from ours. (This is the place of our opponents who are 100% opposite and opposing to us.) Suddenly a news helicopter began flying overhead. Everyone started to scatter when the news chopper quickly began descending down toward our group. I knew it was going to attempt to kill us all with it's spinning blades. (This attack by the news chopper represents several things going on at one time that are an attempt to spiritually kill us. “Spinning” is what people do to the truth to make it into a lie. “Blades” of a “chopper” are used to divide and destroy. There is character assassination against the right through the factious DS false “news” through the choppers air waves; internet, TV, radio, or otherwise. Also the false news of the religious faction is slander and divides those attacked by witchcraft. Also the "news junkie spirit" distracts from the cleaning up and spiritual warfare that we should be doing. It also causes many to be leavened with competetiveness and desires to war against flesh and blood. For these reasons even the declassification of the sins of the DS, which they are doing and will be done over TV for days, is a leaven to the spiritual man of the Christian. We already know what evil they have done. For those who are in total darkness because they only watch MSM on TV., there is a certain value to this declassification in opening their eyes to what they really have been pledging allegiance to. We who know need to concentrate on Php 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honorable, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Rom 16:19 ... I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple unto that which is evil.) Then I turned around and saw that one woman had split from the group. (She represents those who will faction away from Christ and UBM with factious words and spirits that leaven others. Jud 1:18-19 that they said to you, In the last time there shall be mockers, walking after their own ungodly lusts. 19 These are they who make separations, sensual, having not the Spirit. Jas 3:14-16 But if ye have bitter jealousy and faction in your heart, glory not and lie not against the truth. 15 This wisdom is not a wisdom that cometh down from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. 16 For where jealousy and faction are, there is confusion and every vile deed. Rom 2:8 but unto them that are factious, and obey not the truth, but obey unrighteousness, shall be wrath and indignation. Tit 3:10-11 A factious man after a first and second admonition refuse; 11 knowing that such a one is perverted, and sinneth, being self-condemned. You will first recognize the people infected by faction because they will slowly withdraw from fellowshipping with you and the body until they are gone. They usually start with a spirit of rejection and fear of rejection. They will not be able to stand the teaching or correction. They ultimately give up any ministry to the body and seek out the world and false teachers. They will find the dumbest excuses to separate from you but in every case it is because of unforgiveness for which they lose God's forgiveness. Their demons hate David and he always becomes their biggest enemy even when he is trying to save them from the reprobation that is coming. In gross anarchy they refuse to obey the word or the elders. They infect their whole family and even the children become rebellious. They dont forgive so they are not forgiven and have no way to pay for the debt of their sins. Mat 18:25 But forasmuch as he had not wherewith to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.) She was fleeing in terror from the attack by running through an open field between the two buildings but in an angle towards the opposite building belonging to the faction. (Jesus said, "the field is the world”. They are far more worldly and sinful than before they knew the Lord. She is fleeing towards the opposite factious building thinking that her safety is there but reprobation is there.) It reminded me of when a lion causes a weak member of a cattle herd to break away from the herd and sprint in a random pattern until it's finally taken down. But the woman only made it a few feet before she got hit. We were horrified when we saw her get instantly vaporized into a red cloud by the tilted spinning blades. (Factious Esau's seed, Edom, means “red”. Red also represents sin, and anarchy, the nature of Edom, who factioned against his chosen brother Israel and will be destroyed for this as the Scriptures say over and over. The first verse we got in our prayer meeting this morning speaks to this. (Jer.48:40) For thus saith Jehovah: Behold, he shall fly as an eagle, and shall spread out his wings against Moab. I.e. God will use the eagle of DS Babylon to judge those who faction against their brothers. DS's va/cc/ine plague will take down many Edomites for they have no faith in God. God will use the witchcraft of the faction to destroy those who turn toward them instead of rebuking them. “Vaporized” is the process of death by turning from physical to unseen gas, representing death by turning against nature to evil spirits. In this being dead to God and all good state they destroy many by their words of criticism, slander, and judgment, doing the very things they accuse others of. This is so subtle a spirit that none of these people have ever believed that they have faction but their conscience becomes more and more seared.) Then, the rest of the group, who were running just ahead of me, quickly made a beeline for the only door on the ground floor of our UBM building. But when they got close to the doors, we looked up and saw that a car was set up as a sort of booby trap atop the opposing building. (A trap by the religious faction against us. Cars are vehicles and types of our natural lives, which are the spiritual man's mode and way of transportation. So this car represents those who lay snares for the righteous but whom God declares will fall into their own traps.) Just as the group began to scramble inside, the car was launched off the rooftop with the aim to explode and kill us all below. (This is the falling away of a body of the sons of perdition, Judas', who die for their treachery against the body of Christ as Judas did. Each one of these falling aways has taken others with them. Make no mistake the demons in them want to kill you as their spiritual fathers did Jesus.) Then as if this had all been a movie, the scene changed to home video footage of a father and his daughter playing together on her bedroom floor. The girl looked to be no older than eight or nine years old. They had arranged a series of small mounds on the floor. Each mound was a different color, and appeared to be made of quarter-sized chunks of dried paper pulp. Like the substance that's converted into paper goods, such as egg cartons, or fast food cup holder trays. The two had poured a thin trail network of gun powder that lead directly through each little mound to set off a kind of pyrotechnic domino effect. They both seemed to be having a fun and happy father daughter time as they were setting this all up. Then I had the sense that when the little girl was about to ignite the gunpowder trail, it was simultaneously going to set off the previous described attacks at the apartment building. That's when I woke up. (Father is warning his little children to not get distracted by worldly things but seek to be cleansed of sin so we can escape a chain of fiery events which they would then be able to bind and pray down. Some are asking why all the delays in NESARA and the GCR. I will tell you because Father told me. It is because people are distracted from seeking first the Kingdom of Heaven in their lives and do not deserve this blessing. The body is leavened and either sin must be thrown out or the sinner must be thrown out so the body can be blessed. God's way of throwing the sinner out is turning them over to Satan by faction, meaning separation from the body. This is so because "a little leaven leavens the whole lump” and “evil companionships corrupt good morals”.) Some of the Immature Christians Will Perish Claire Pienaar - 7/2/21 (David's notes in red) I dreamed I was in a 3 bedroom apartment building. (This ‘apartment building' represents the factious, Apostate religious system that many so-called Christians are a part of. Isa 5:8 Woe unto them that join house to house, that lay field to field, till there be no room, and ye be made to dwell alone in the midst of the land! 9 In mine ears saith Jehovah of hosts, Of a truth many houses shall be desolate, even great and fair, without inhabitant… 13 Therefore my people are gone into captivity for lack of knowledge; and their honorable men are famished, and their multitude are parched with thirst. 14 Therefore Sheol hath enlarged its desire, and opened its mouth without measure; and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth among them, descend into it . 15 And the mean man is bowed down, and the great man is humbled, and the eyes of the lofty are humbled:.. 20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! 21 Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight! 22 Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink; 23 that justify the wicked for a bribe, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him! 24 Therefore as the tongue of fire devoureth the stubble, and as the dry grass sinketh down in the flame, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust; because they have rejected the law of Jehovah of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel. 25 Therefore is the anger of Jehovah kindled against his people, and he hath stretched forth his hand against them, and hath smitten them; and the mountains tremble, and their dead bodies are as refuse in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.) One of the rooms was for a younger girl who looked a little dirty, and she was mentally slow. (Dirty is unclean) This woman had curly, brown, shoulder-length hair. (The curly brown hair might represent those who have a spirit of rebellion and she represents a type of the immature Christians still caught up in the traditions of men). (Curly brown hair in dreams represents being submitted to confusion and darkness. The brown shirts were very much like the factious. This woman represents a body of people who have been mentally or spiritually retarded by the apostate leadership because of their false doctrines that don't allow for a healthy spiritual development and maturity. Mat 23:13-15, But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye shut the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye enter not in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering in to enter. 14 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows houses, even while for a pretence ye make long prayers: therefore ye shall receive greater condemnation. 15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte; and when he is become so, ye make him twofold more a son of hell than yourselves.) There was a large room on the opposite end of the living room that belonged to two young men. (Representing two enemies; the flesh nature of the old man and also the factious apostate leadership in the Church. They are the opposite of the living; they are the spiritually dead.) They tried to look clean with pale blue shirts and khaki pants, but they were sweating so much. They were unshaven, and had very pale skin; looking like zombies. (The sweat could be a reaction from stress. Serving satan or the flesh comes with loads of stress. These men might represent the false preachers or teachers in the modern “uniform” that we see today from the pulpit. Romans 12:2 And be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God ) (2 Ti. 3:1-7, But know this, that in the last days grievous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, railers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 without natural affection, implacable, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, no lovers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; 5 holding a form of godliness, but having denied the power thereof From these also turn away. 6 For of these are they that creep into houses, and take captive silly women laden with sins, led away by divers lusts, 7 ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.) The other room was supposed to be for me, but I wasn't expected until 2pm the following day. (2 represents division. The Lord will separate the Bride from the factious and the immature apostates. This 2pm could also represent the 2,000 years since Christ came the first time. He is coming again after this 2,000 year period as the latter rain anointing on His Man-child and Bride bodies on the morning of the 3rd thousand year/ day. Hos 6:1-3, Come, and let us return unto Jehovah; for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. 2 After two days will he revive us: on the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live before him. 3 And let us know, let us follow on to know Jehovah: his going forth is sure as the morning; and he will come unto us as the rain, as the latter rain that watereth the earth.) As I walked into this apartment, I immediately saw that these two men were trying to kill the younger woman. They had planned it and meditated on it. But, they were treating her well so that she would trust them. They were luring her in. They planned to butcher her that night. In the dream, I had a vision of this young woman completely chopped up. It was very bloody and grotesque. (As in Andrew's revelation above where the helicopter dismembered the factious woman who fled from our group. These cults separate members from the Body that they need to be a part of; in effect, spiritually killing them.) Then in the dream it came to me, “That's what they want to do with everyone. She is not the first and I won't be the last”. I looked at the other room that was supposed to be mine. The white door was locked. But in a vision, I could see that there were two people lying dead in there. There was blood everywhere. One was a blonde woman, and the other was her husband or partner. I saw how they had screamed and fought to get out of that room during the attack, but they were trapped in there and were now dead. Those two men had done it. They lived only to kill. They seemed to be psychopathic serial killers. I could smell death approaching. I knew if I entered that room, my end might be similar. (Many people have been trapped and taken captive by the factious spirits in the rebellious who have rejected the Word of God. Hanging around factious people will kill our spirit man through listening to their lies and slander. Rom 3:10-18, as it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one; 11 There is none that understandeth, There is none that seeketh after God; 12 They have all turned aside, they are together become unprofitable; There is none that doeth good, no, not, so much as one: 13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; With their tongues they have used deceit: The poison of asps is under their lips: 14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: 15 Their feet are swift to shed blood; 16 Destruction and misery are in their ways; 17 And the way of peace have they not known: 18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.) I left the apartment in search of food. I found a large plate of salmon sushi and ate it. (Spiritually, I think the sushi represents the raw, real, lean, healthy Word of the Lord). (We must seek out and consume the meat of the Word and stay spiritually healthy in order to be able to fight against these spirits of faction that are constantly seeking to destroy us and drag us to hell.) Then I went back to the apartment, and I saw that the front door handle had been removed so the younger girl could not close the door to have privacy or to be alone or safe at all. The door would always remain open. (Open doors to evil spirits, because of sin and unforgiveness, will keep these people vulnerable and in torment and at satan's mercy.) The men were ready to kill her. She was in a bath, shaving her legs and I said to her, “You need to pay attention to what's happening around you. They are playing you. Can't you see it?” I said, “Get dressed and leave and don't come back”. She answered, “Oh, I'll always come here. Look how well everything goes here”. She was just so slow she couldn't or wouldn't understand. (Sitting in a bathtub full of your own dirty water and trying to get clean represents the deception and false security of a false salvation and worshipping a false Jesus that allows you to be forgiven without true repentance.) They came in and saw me talking to her. They tried to be friendly to me, but they couldn't hide their hatred for me. I knew that they'd make her death look like a suicide but that they'd kill this woman before the day was done. (The factious always deny any responsibility for their words and actions in causing others to fall away from the truth. They deny that they have spiritually killed their brethren with the poison of their mouths.) I thought “I don't need to be here”. The smell of death came back to me. I left and walked into another apartment. It had a door handle that closed. Before I knocked, one of the brothers from greater UBM opened the door for me and told me there were two extra rooms in this apartment, so I could pick 1 of 5 bedrooms. (I immediately thought of “grace” because that's what the number five represents.) Then I noticed there were many beds in the apartment, so it was easy for people to rest. More than five of us were there but I can't remember who the others were. (The materials that UBM puts out teach people how to be believers and how to have faith and rest in the promises of God.) Then woke up. I asked the Lord for a word by faith at random, and my finger landed on “Lord Jesus Christ” and “brethren”, in context 2 Th 2:13-15 But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, for that God chose you from the beginning unto salvation in sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: 14 whereunto he called you through our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15 So then, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye were taught, whether by word, or by epistle of ours. Some, not all, are saved. 2 Pe 2:10-22, but chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of defilement, and despise dominion. Daring, self-willed, they tremble not to rail at dignities: 11 whereas angels, though greater in might and power, bring not a railing judgment against them before the Lord. 12 But these, as creatures without reason, born mere animals to be taken and destroyed, railing in matters whereof they are ignorant, shall in their destroying surely be destroyed, 13 suffering wrong as the hire of wrong-doing; men that count it pleasure to revel in the day-time, spots and blemishes, revelling in their deceivings while they feast with you; 14 having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; enticing unstedfast souls; having a heart exercised in covetousness; children of cursing; 15 forsaking the right way, they went astray, having followed the way of Balaam the'son of Beor, who loved the hire of wrong-doing; 16 but he was rebuked for his own transgression: a dumb ass spake with man's voice and stayed the madness of the prophet. 17 These are springs without water, and mists driven by a storm; for whom the blackness of darkness hath been reserved. 18 For, uttering great swelling words of vanity, they entice in the lusts of the flesh, by lasciviousness, those who are just escaping from them that live in error; 19 promising them liberty, while they themselves are bondservants of corruption; for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he also brought into bondage. 20 For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein and overcome, the last state is become worse with them than the first. 21 For it were better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after knowing it, to turn back from the holy commandment delivered unto them. 22 It has happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog turning to his own vomit again, and the sow that had washed to wallowing in the mire. The Fat Lady Attacks the Bride but Fails Claire Pienaar 7/4/21 I dreamed I was in a large wooden cabin and there was a Teacher there (Representing Jesus) who was teaching us about the Word. (The cabin represents our wilderness tribulation training and our Teacher is Jesus who is the Word made flesh.) There were a few who did not believe as we did and split off into other, smaller groups. (The factious demons separate their victims from the unleavened bread of the Word of God. They want to pick and chose the verses just before they end up refusing all the verses and so it's always easy for them to separate from the true believers. Rom 16:17, Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them that are causing the divisions and occasions of stumbling, contrary to the doctrine which ye learned: and turn away from them.) There was a woman there whom I was praying for. She was wearing a brown cape and looked like a druid. (They were a high-ranking class in ancient Celtic cultures. Druids were religious leaders as well as legal authorities, adjudicators, lorekeepers, medical professionals and political advisors. Druids left no written accounts). She had long, long brown wavy hair, and she was big and fat.) (People who are overcome by their flesh and believe that they still have authority in the Church. They are the kind of people that God separates from the Body for it's own good. Rom 16:18, For they that are such serve not our Lord Christ, but their own belly; and by their smooth and fair speech they beguile the hearts of the innocent. Many times when these self-willed people can't get their way they try to faction people away from the Body. There are so many people associated with Christianity that have cultic demons and believe that their way is the only way.) She ran out of the wooden cabin and was intent on getting away from my prayers for her. I kept on calling to her, “Jesus can heal you! You are healed in the name of Jesus!”. (The demons that possess these people don't want them to be delivered because then they will lose their home. John 12:37- 40, But though he had done so many signs before them, yet they believed not on him: 38 that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? And to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed? 39 For this cause they could not believe, for that Isaiah said again, 40 He hath blinded their eyes, and he hardened their heart; Lest they should see with their eyes, and perceive with their heart, And should turn, And I should heal them.) The Teacher said to me, “She's left now”. I said, “But surely she'll receive the truth?”. He said, “I'll let you go”. So then I ran outside, calling after this woman. I kept on calling to her. (It's true that we would like to see them all saved and delivered and many times we keep striving with them and in prayer hoping the Lord will grant them repentance and faith but, the Lord knows who belongs to Him and who doesn't and He causes the ones who are reprobated to leave us because He wants a spotless and blemish-less Bride. He won't tolerate leaven in His Body. ) I watched her as she scaled a Pencil Pine Tree (A tree with very narrow limbs). I thought, “My goodness, how will these thin branches hold your weight? You're not being smart. Come on, just come down so Jesus can heal you”. (Mat 7:6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast your pearls before the swine, lest haply they trample them under their feet, and turn and rend you.) Then I watched her pick up a huge beam or log. It looked like a battering ram, and in my spirit, I heard the teacher say “That's the fiery arrow”. (Pro 25:18 A man that beareth false witness against his neighbor Is a maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow. Psa 11:2 For, lo, the wicked bend the bow, They make ready their arrow upon the string, That they may shoot in darkness at the upright in heart.) I thought to myself, “This will be like a steak that's driven right through me. She's aiming it right for me. It'll go through my chest”. (The mother's heart, in the Bride, labors when her children suffer in their rebellion or suffer the persecution of others. It's cruel and foolish to mess with the fruit of God's elect). (Riaan: "The Lord is fed up with the fat lady who doesn't want simple prayers of faith but instead threatens the Bride with a beam from her own eye”.) (The faction are always accusing the righteous of the very things they are guilty of! Mat 7:1-6, Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured unto you. 3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me cast out the mote out of thine eye; and lo, the beam is in thine own eye? 5 Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye. Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast your pearls before the swine, lest haply they trample them under their feet, and turn and rend you.) Then I looked around and realized I was standing in an open space. She had a clear path straight to me. (We are not hidden, because we are in the light and yet, we have supernatural protection because we abide in the secret place of the Most High). I prayed, and immediately my silver van appeared right in front of me and the wooden beam skidded over the silver van. (My silver van has routinely represented the Holy Spirit's guidance and protection in my dreams. This represents the full armor of God as the van covered me completely). (Eph. 6:10-17, Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Wherefore take up the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 withal taking up the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:) Then I woke up. I opened my Bible by faith at random for a verse for this dream and received Jer 16:7 (In context,5-9) 5 For thus saith Jehovah, Enter not into the house of mourning, neither go to lament, neither bemoan them; for I have taken away my peace from this people, saith Jehovah, even lovingkindness and tender mercies. 6 Both great and small shall die in this land; they shall not be buried, neither shall men lament for them, nor cut themselves, nor make themselves bald for them; 7 neither shall men break bread for them in mourning, to comfort them for the dead; neither shall men give them the cup of consolation to drink for their father or for their mother. 8 And thou shalt not go into the house of feasting to sit with them, to eat and to drink. 9 For thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place, before your eyes and in your days, the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride. (The Bride and groom will not be found among the factious or apostates.) I said to the Lord, “Give me a personal word concerning this dream; a confirmation of my right standing with you". I opened my Bible by faith at random and received Mal 3:12 and my finger was on “Ye shall be a delight”, Mal 3:12: And all nations shall call you happy; for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith Jehovah of hosts. Man-Child Endures Apostates to Receive the Prize Claire Pienaar - 6/28/21 (David's notes in red) I dreamed David Eells was standing on a wooden stage with a red velvet stage curtain drawn closed behind him. He was on the right side of the stage but to the audience it would have been left. (As we will see, right and left can be a matter of perception and the devil can pervert and twist the perception of individuals that have fallen into faction. Isa. 5:20-23, 20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! 21 Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight! 22 Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink; 23 that justify the wicked for a bribe, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!) David was preaching about the crucified life, the stages of glory, and death to self. He had a black microphone in his hand. His hair was shining, and his teeth were white. (When we stick to only what the Bible says, what comes out of our mouths in purity and righteous. Rom 10:12-15, ...for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich unto all that call upon him: 13 for, Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 and how shall they preach, except they be sent? even as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that bring glad tidings of good things!) There was a lady with reddish-brown curly hair who had a big bottom half. (Faction turns these people into big stubborn asses because the Lord reprobates them because of their hardness of heart and their stubborn rebellion. Hos 8:8-9, Israel is swallowed up: now are they among the nations as a vessel wherein none delighteth. 9 For they are gone up to Assyria, like a wild ass alone by himself:) She was dressed in a beige pants suit (Representing a factious, Jezebel Spirit) on the left side of stage (The audience's right side). (This woman represents a corporate body of Edomites who were descended from Esau which means, “red / hairy.” Esau is the father of all those who faction against their brother in hatred and bitterness. They are the goats that Jesus put on the left in Mat. 25:33. Heb 12:14-17, Follow after peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no man shall see the Lord: 15 looking carefully lest there be any man that falleth short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby the many be defiled; 16 lest there be any fornication, or profane person, as Esau, who for one mess of meat sold his own birthright. 17 For ye know that even when he afterward desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected; for he found no place for a change of mind (in his father,) though he sought is diligently with tears.) There was someone smaller with her but he or she left quite quickly. (They quickly lose whatever fruit of Christ they had.) This lady had a megaphone and asked a question to David: “Why do you preach this so openly? What about the children? You might offend them. What about the new in faith? (Sometimes our immaturity causes us not to want to receive the truth of the harder messages, but we need the meat of the Word to be able to grow up spiritually. Many lukewarm preachers won't preach the hard messages because they don't want to offend anyone and lose their tithers. Usually when people decide that they don't want to grow anymore and go on further with the Lord they end up factioning away from the true believers. John 6:52-71, The Jews therefore strove one with another, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat? 53 Jesus therefore said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, ye have not life in yourselves. 54 He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood hath eternal life: and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. 56 He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood abideth in me, and I in him... … 60 Many therefore of his disciples, when the heard this , said, This is a hard saying; who can hear it? 61 But Jesus knowing in himself that his disciples murmured at this, said unto them, Doth this cause you to stumble? 62 What then if ye should behold the Son of man ascending where he was before? 63 It is the spirit that giveth life; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I have spoken unto you are spirit, and are life. 64 But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who it was that should betray him. 65 And he said, For this cause have I said unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it be given unto him of the Father. (notice the verse number) 6:66 Upon this many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. 67 Jesus said therefore unto the twelve, Would ye also go away? 68 Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. 69 And we have believed and know that thou art the Holy One of God. 70 Jesus answered them, Did not I choose you the twelve, and one of you is a devil? 71 Now he spake of Judas the son of Simon Iscariot, for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve.) Claire said, "For a moment in the dream, I thought about all the times I've let my children listen to David while I am driving and when there's slight talk of child-sacrifice it is probably challenging for them to hear but I remind them about Molek and Baal and Hinduism and that without serving The One True God with a new heart, people are evil.” In the dream, I agreed in my mind that sometimes I don't want my children to hear it, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't. (This was all going on in my mind in the dream. I don't think this makes me factious. Instead it makes me willing to receive a hard message). David replied: “That's exactly what the apostate church does! They keep it light for new ones and no-one ever grows up”. David laughed a little and shook his head. (Heb 5:5-14, So Christ also glorified not himself to be made a high priest, but he that spake unto him, Thou art my Son, This day have I begotten thee: 6 as he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever After the order of Melchizedek… 11 Of whom we have many things to say, and hard of interpretation, seeing ye are become dull of hearing. 12 For when by reason of the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need again that some one teach you the rudiments of the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of solid food. 13 For every one that partaketh of milk is without experience of the word of righteousness; for he is a babe. 14 But solid food is for fullgrown men, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern good and evil.) This lady then lost it. Everyone realised she had a factious spirit and she admitted it. “I can't stand it here and I go against the great David Eells! No one would have that! No need to push me out! I'll leave of my own volition. Hail dictator David! Hail, Captain of the cult!” and she stormed off. No one followed her and David just went right on teaching. (Heb 12:1-3, Therefore let us also, seeing we are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising shame, and hath sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 For consider him that hath endured such gainsaying of sinners against himself, that ye wax not weary, fainting in your souls.) I received Daniel 5:23 by faith at random about this dream. (In context 20-29) 20 But when his heart was lifted up, and his spirit was hardened so that he dealt proudly, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him: 21 and he was driven from the sons of men, and his heart was made like the beasts', and his dwelling was with the wild asses; he was fed with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven; until he knew that the Most High God ruleth in the kingdom of men, and that he setteth up over it whomsoever he will. 22 And thou his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thy heart, though thou knewest all this, 23 but hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou and thy lords, thy wives and thy concubines, have drunk wine from them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know; and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified. 24 Then was the part of the hand sent from before him, and this writing was inscribed. 25 And this is the writing that was inscribed: mene, mene, tekel, upharsin. 26 This is the interpretation of the thing: mene; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and brought it to an end. 27 tekel; thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting. 28 peres; thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians. 29 Then commanded Belshazzar, and they clothed Daniel with purple, and put a chain of gold about his neck, and made proclamation concerning him, that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom. Then I asked God for a word by faith at random for David Eells specifically, and my finger was both on the verse 1 Co. 9:24 and on the footnote in the margin that says Heb 12:1. 1 Co. 9:24 says, Know ye not that they that run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? Even so run; that ye may attain. and Heb 12:1 says, Therefore let us also, seeing we are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. I believe there will be some who will be resurrected from this worthless dead state of constant sin against God and man. Some Resurrected from Spiritual Death Just Before the Tribulation Riaan Pienaar 7/9/21 (David's notes in red) I dreamed I was with my family. My mother, sister and brother-in-law were there. We heard a thud and saw a bird that had dropped dead out of the sky just before it got to the tree line of a forest. (The bird represents those who were overcomers of the world but lost their life just before reaching the wilderness tribulation.) We walked over and my sister commented on how stiff the bird was. (Meaning it was spiritually dead for a while before it lost its position of overcoming in the heavenlies.) It was a beautiful bird. It looked like a mix between a king-fisher and lilac-breasted roller with bright light blue and white wings (maybe the words king, fisher and lilac all referring to Christ and his death and resurrection?) (These were fishers for the King before they died. They were heavenly daylight blue representing their heavenly abode. Their wings were white because the power to overcome the world is purity and holiness. They were in the body of Christ, partakers of His death to self and resurrection life before spiritual death took them.) While they were talking and standing around the bird, I slowly picked up the dead bird, cupped my hands over it and blew softly on it to resurrect it. (Riaan means, little King, representing the Man-child whose words will be prophetically bring about "the falling and rising of many". Luk 2:34 and Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the falling and the rising of many in Israel; and for a sign which is spoken against.) I opened my hands, and the bird flew away. (This reminds me of the return of the prodigal son. Luk 15:24 for this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.) I was suddenly overcome and fell on my face and worshiped God and realized I was wearing all-white. I walked away without saying a word all the while praising the Lord. It was wonderful. It was so calm and beautiful. It was like I was watching myself. (When we are led by the Holy everything goes into slow motion). I asked the Lord for a Word by faith at random, and received Psalms 58:10-11 The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: He shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked; 11 So that men shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: Verily there is a God that judgeth in the earth. God Wants to 'Straighten Out' Our Faith Vanessa Weeks - 6/28/21 (David's notes in red) In a dream I was sitting in a white room that was empty except for a white rocking chair. (We should be empty of everything that is not the Kingdom and rest in the Lord's righteousness). (The more we empty ourselves the more of Jesus and the Holy Spirit we will have. Thank you Father that through your gift of faith, “It is no longer we that live but Christ in us.) I was sitting in this chair and praying. I was saying, "Jesus, Jesus" and waves of the Holy Spirit were washing over me. It was an amazing presence of the Lord. Then, I was at the Shaws house standing with a few other brethren on the front of the porch. Michael (Which means, “Who is like God?) was saying something like, “Who wants more of the Holy Spirit?" I said "I do” (It's God's desire for us to be filled more and more with His Holy Spirit and to come into His image.) Then I saw that he was straightening the picture that is on the wall above the couch. (I did not see what the picture was in the dream but when I saw it in reality at the meeting that night it was the FAITH plaque.) (God is wanting to straighten us out on FAITH. It is His gift to us but we must exercise it to receive all His promises to us and His benefits.) I was surprised to see Michael and said, "How did you get here so fast?” (Since I knew he had just been on a trip to Arkansas). (When we truly desire God's will for us, He performs it quickly.) Then I woke up. I asked the Lord for a word for this dream and received by faith at random Luke 24:11 (in context 1-12) But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came unto the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared. 2 And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. 3 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 And it came to pass, while they were perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel: 5 and as they were affrighted and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? 6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, 7 saying that the Son of man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. 8 And they remembered his words, 9 and returned from the tomb, and told all these things to the eleven, and to all the rest. 10 Now they were Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James: and the other women with them told these things unto the apostles. 11 And these words appeared in their sight as idle talk; and they disbelieved them. 12 But Peter arose, and ran unto the tomb; and stooping and looking in, he seeth the linen cloths by themselves; and he departed to his home, wondering at that which was come to pass.

God Wants to Use YouJohn 4:5-29 (NLT)“(Jesus) came to the Samaritan village of Sychar, near the field that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. Jacob's well was there; and Jesus, tired from the long walk, sat wearily beside the well about noontime. Soon a Samaritan woman came to draw water, and Jesus said to her, ‘Please give me a drink.' He was alone at the time because His disciples had gone into the village to buy some food. The woman was surprised, for Jews refuse to have anything to do with Samaritans. She said to Jesus, ‘You are a Jew, and I am a Samaritan woman. Why are you asking me for a drink?' ‘Jesus replied, ‘If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you would ask me, and I would give you living water.' ‘But sir, you don't have a rope or a bucket,' she said, ‘and this well is very deep. Where would you get this living water? And besides, do you think you're greater than our ancestor Jacob, who gave us this well? How can you offer better water than he and his sons and his animals enjoyed?' Jesus replied, ‘Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.' ‘Please, sir,' the woman said, ‘give me this water! Then I'll never be thirsty again, and I won't have to come here to get water.' ‘Go and get your husband,' Jesus told her. ‘I don't have a husband,' the woman replied. Jesus said, ‘You're right! You don't have a husband—for you have had five husbands, and you aren't even married to the man you're living with now. You certainly spoke the truth!' ‘Sir,' the woman said, ‘you must be a prophet. So tell me, why is it that you Jews insist that Jerusalem is the only place of worship, while we Samaritans claim it is here at Mount Gerizim, where our ancestors worshiped?' Jesus replied, ‘Believe me, dear woman, the time is coming when it will no longer matter whether you worship the Father on this mountain or in Jerusalem. You Samaritans know very little about the one you worship, while we Jews know all about Him, for salvation comes through the Jews. But the time is coming—indeed it's here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship Him that way. For God is Spirit, so those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth.' The woman said, ‘I know the Messiah is coming —the one who is called Christ. When He comes, He will explain everything to us.' Then Jesus told her, ‘I am the Messiah!' Just then His disciples came back. They were shocked to find Him talking to a woman, but none of them had the nerve to ask, ‘What do you want with her?' or ‘Why are you talking to her?' The woman left her water jar beside the well and ran back to the village, telling everyone, ‘Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did! Could he possibly be the Messiah?'”Reaching Those Lost and Trapped by Sin in an Ungodly Culture1. Understand the perspective of the one you are reaching.2. Prayer Is a Conversation that God Wants to Have with You; Prayer Is Just You and Your Lord in Personal Conversation MESSAGE SUMMARY: God desires to walk with you and to help you, but God does not provide you with this support unless you pray and ask Him. James, the brother of Jesus and the author of James 5:13-16, succinctly describes prayer and its power for the followers of Jesus: “Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”. Prayer gives you the ability to communicate directly with God, the Creator of the Universe. Therefore, why not take advantage of this incredible communication tool, Prayer, that God has gifted you? Just do it – just pray and ask God for His help. The only way to learn how to pray is just to pray – just pray with your heart. Prayer is just you and your Lord in conversation – a conversation that God wants to have with you. TODAY'S PRAYER: Lord, everything in me kicks against going to the foot of the cross where you will root out of me all that is not of you. Help me not to fear the “deaths” it will take for me to be transformed into a free person who loves you and others well. Have mercy on me, O Lord. In Jesus' name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. In Today's Uncertainty, We Need to Remember that God Wants to Walk with Us In All Our Life Situations, Both Good and Bad – Just Ask Him MESSAGE SUMMARY: “Lord is my helper and confident, why should I be afraid? What can man do to me?” For this confidence, you must know who Jesus is – both in your heart and in your mind. Jesus is the Son of God – God in the flesh. As Paul tells us in Philippians 4:4: “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.". Therefore, You do not need to worry about troubling circumstances in your life because you know that He is with you; and He will guide you no matter how dark your life seems. Jesus is the light that shines in darkness. As Jesus tells you in Luke 12:4-5, that when you have anxiety and fear in your life, you must determine if this anxiety derivative of the right kind of fear: “I tell you, my friends, do not fear those who kill the body, and after that have nothing more that they can do. But I will warn you whom to fear: fear him who, after he has killed, has authority to cast into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him!”. When you are faced with life's tragedies and the anxieties that result from just living your life, Jesus can turn those situations and your fears into ways and results that you cannot fathom, understand, or anticipate; but you can certainly appreciate. Why not give God a chance to walk with you in all your life situations -- good and bad? Ultimately, the Psalmist got it right in Psalm 23:4: “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.". TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that because I am in Jesus Christ, I will entrust to Him my future. I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day. (From 2 Timothy 1:12). SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Philippians 4:4-9; Mathew 6:25-34; Psalm 23:1-6; Psalms 22b:17-31. TODAY'S PRAYER: Grant me courage, Father, to embark on the unique journey you have crafted for me. By faith, I surrender my need and desire to be in control of every event, circumstance, and person I will meet today. In Jesus' name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. On the final Sunday of Easter, today's service celebrates the Ascension of Jesus into Heaven. Pastor Jeske's bible study delves into The Great Commission recorded in Matthew 28:16-20. Jesus said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Koine's Brian Davison joins the Sunday Praise Band with music celebrating God's return to the throne in heaven and the call to Christians to spread the Gospel to all nations. Music includes Graham Kendrick's "Shine, Jesus, Shine", the seventh century text in "A Hymn of Glory Let Us Sing", and Leon Patillo's "Go". The Gospel Choir presents "God Wants a Yes" and "Gates of Zion".

Witnesses to Jesus – John 5:30-47 – FCBCINTRODUCTIONAnd the older you get, the more you realize how silly it is when you’re younger to think you’ve got everything figured out. The older we get, and the more we experience and learn, it can either make us more humble and wise or more prideful and stubborn. I think spiritual maturity is similar. We can become more humble and wise related to spiritual things, or more prideful and stubborn, thinking we’ve got it all figured out. We’re going to see in this passage that the very people who should have known better because they by now should have been the most spiritually mature, were actually blinded by their stubborn spiritual pride. They thought they knew it all. Because they actually did know the Bible more than the rest. But that’s what makes it so scary – we could fall into the same traps they did. Thinking we know it all, thinking we see things clearly, but we actually don’t. We’ll see in the passage today that: Spiritual Pride conceals the way to life. Humble Learning reveals it. Spiritual pride blinds us from seeing the path to life. Humbly getting to know God & his word reveals the way to life in Jesus.BACKGROUND From John 5Jesus healed a guy who hadn’t been able to walk in 38 years. The Jewish leaders wanted to kill Jesus for it because he did it on the Sabbath, AND he wasclaiming to be equal with God.WHO’S ON TRIAL?They charged Jesus (breaking Sabbath, blasphemy, death penalty), but HE said HE is the judge.30 “I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me. 27And he (the Father) has given him authority to execute judgment because he is the Son of Man.Jesus, at the direction of God the Father, will judge humanity based on their belief/unbelief in Jesus.Have you ever seen the show Undercover Boss? CEO’s, etc. go undercover to work with their employees (get trained, etc.). Imagine the shock when the employees realize it! They probably replay every word and action – how they treated their BOSS. What if they were impatient and rude? What if they talked bad about the company, or worse yet, the boss?!This is sort of like that. They think they’re judging Jesus. And they’re pridefully confident of their assessment. But they don’t realize he is GOD! And it’s HIM that will judge THEM! But Jesus isn’t trying to hide. Quite the opposite! Jesus brought witnesses as evidence so that they WOULD believe.34... I say these things so that you may be saved. He is a patient, loving, gracious judge! Keep that in mind before we look at how Jesus handled these guys – God WANTS you to be in close, intimate, fulfilling relationship with Him. That’s the whole point, and that’s why he provided so many witnesses.1THE WITNESSES31 If I alone bear witness about myself, my testimony is not true. This doesn’t mean Jesus’ testimony is false if he’s the only one saying it. It’s still true. He’s just referring to Jewish law about legal witnesses.John 8:17-18 “In your Law it is written that the testimony of two people is true. I am the one who bears witness about myself, and the Father who sent me bears witness about me.”Deuteronomy 19:15 “A single witness shall not suffice against a person for any crime or for any wrong in connection with any offense that he has committed. Only on the evidence of two witnesses or of three witnesses shall a charge be established.”Sort of like a hole-in-one in golf – you must have a witness for it to be official. Jesus is appealing to the Law they know well, and he gives not just one more additional witness, but 5 more.32 There is another who bears witness about me, and I know that the testimony that he bears about me is true. This is actually a reference to the Father, which he gets to again in vs 37. Just like in chapter 8, he’s emphasizing that he and the Father are the primary witnesses that people should believe. – It’s obvious why. Who knows truth best? God.In golf, for the hole in one to count, it can’t just be your 4-year-old who was with you to count as a witness. The qualifications of your witnesses matter.Jesus is saying, before I get to these other witnesses, just know that the one that matters most, the Father – he says I’m the real deal.LET’S LOOK AT THE 5 WITNESSES: 1. John the Baptist33 You sent to John, and he has borne witness to the truth. 34 Not that the testimony that I receive is from man, but I say these things so that you may be saved. 35 He was a burning and shining lamp, and you were willing to rejoice for a while in his light. When he says “not that the testimony that I receive is from man” – he’s saying God isn’t dependent on humans to reveal truth about himself. But he often uses them anyway. Just like he wants to use us – even though he doesn’t need to.Jesus is reminding them that John the Baptist had given compelling testimony about Jesus. We studied that in previous weeks.2. Jesus’ works236 But the testimony that I have is greater than that of John. For the works that the Father has given me to accomplish, the very works that I am doing, bear witness about me that the Father has sent me.Not only were the miracles amazing, they also were the very things the O.T. Prophets said the Messiah would do.They didn’t just hear about the miracles. These undeniably supernatural miracles happened right in front of their eyes.I hear people say today – If I could see a miracle, THEN I’d believe. If I saw that guy healed, then I’d believe. Maybe not – these guys saw crazy stuff and it hardened them – some called it the work of the devil. I don’t think it would have mattered if Jesus had taken requests for miracles, because these guys were blinded by pride.3. The Father37 And the Father who sent me has himself borne witness about me. His voice you have never heard, his form you have never seen, 38 and you do not have his word abiding in you, for you do not believe the one whom he has sent.Jesus doesn’t specify what he means here regarding how the Father bore witness to Jesus. Some think he’s referencing the Father’s testimony at Jesus’ baptism – a voice from heaven: “This is my Son in whom I’m well pleased.” I’m less convinced of that because that passage specifically refers to hearing God’s voice from heaven, but Jesus here says, “His voice you have never heard.”Who has heard the Father’s voice? Jesus. Where was Jesus before he took on human flesh? Heaven. Who has seen his form? Jesus. And who did the Father send with his message? Jesus. Who then should they believe? The Father and Jesus. But they don’t believe.4. The Scriptures39 You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, 40 yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life. Was it good that they searched the Scriptures? YES!! The whole O.T. points to Jesus. TaNaKh – Torah [Law], Nevi’im [Prophets], Ketuvim [Writings]Luke 24:44 - Jesus, after resurrection: “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”Just in case you think the OT is boring – there’s more amazing stuff in there than we can even fathom! We’ll look at why they missed the point in a minute5. Moses345 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father. There is one who accuses you: Moses, on whom you have set your hope. 46 For if you believed Moses, you would believe me; for he wrote of me.47 But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe my words?”Jesus doesn’t specify what exactly he’s referring to here in Moses’ writings. Some think it’s Deuteronomy 18:15-19...[Moses speaking...]: 15 “The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your brothers—it is to him you shall listen... [God speaking]: 18 I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. And I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him. 19 And whoever will not listen to my words that he shall speak in my name, I myself will require it of him. That seems to clearly point to Messiah, but Jesus could also have been referring to ALL of the books of Moses (Torah/Pentateuch – 1st 5 Books) because when you study them, you will see that the whole thing points forward to Jesus. These guys didn’t see it or believe it. WHY? Let’s look at what was getting in the way.Spiritual Pride Conceals the Way to Life; Humble Learning reveals it.I don’t want to fall into the traps the Jewish leaders did. I hope these things will help me and us.1. Humble Learning, not Pride in Bible KnowledgeThey were RIGHT to search the Scriptures – but their heart was wrong.39 You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life 45There is one who accuses you: Moses, on whom you have set your hope.46 For if you believed Moses, you would believe meThey thought life was found in the TEXT not God himself. And it led to pride. Jesus didn’t fit their interpretation of Scripture. They were so stuck on their particular interpretation of things, likely including their view of the Messiah as a military & political deliverer, that it blinded them to who was right in front of them.(William Barclay - Commentary) “They read Scripture not to search for God but to find arguments to support their own positions. They did not really love God; they loved their own ideas about him.”Some churches have a reputation of spiritual pride because of their strong Bible knowledge. A great strength can become a great weakness and blind spot. We should be careful – those who are guilty of this will still nod in agreement. That’s the thing about blindness... you can’t see it in yourself. People who are guilty of this are thinking of others right now (that reminds me of so-and-so), rather than humbly self-reflecting and asking God to reveal pride in their own heart...To those who know lots of Bible, and have many strong convictions:It’s healthy to realize that, unless you’re God, you’re wrong about something you believe that you’re right about. We need to be humble learners. These guys Jesus was talking to were not humble.4The truth is always BETTER than the wrong way I see things – so why would I cling to my view on occasions when the evidence shows something else? Pride.I don’t like being wrong on something. But winning a debate on that thing doesn’t make me less wrong. It actually just solidifies my blindness. Only humility can reveal that to ME, and only humility will help me say those dreaded words: “I was wrong.”There’s an equal & opposite problem today: No felt need for reading and studying the Bible. It’s pride in the other direction – “I don’t need God’s word to transform me; I’m good to go as I am.”We should be serious about Scripture! How can you learn and grow if you don’t read & study it? You can’t. Sunday morning isn’t enough. How long before we get through the whole Bible on Sunday morning? God wants intimate relationship. What if you only spoke to your spouse or best friend for an hour once/week? Would the relationship be very deep? The goal is deepening relationship, not just knowledge. Lots of people who can win Bible trivia are actually very far from God2. Humble Love, not Pride in Judging Others42 But I know that you do not have the love of God within you. 43 I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not receive me. If another comes in his own name, you will receive him.Hospitality (receiving someone) was a big deal in Jewish culture. Even a receiving a stranger. How about receiving a representative of the King? HUGE! Talk about a bigger deal than Undercover Boss! Jesus came to their front door in the name of YHWH; He IS the King! But it’s like they pointed a gun in his face and told him to get off their property. What does it mean to “receive Jesus”? To believe and accept his words as truth, and submit to him. At a heart level. Not just intellectual.John 1:11: He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. 12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.Receiving Jesus is believing and accepting his words as truth and submitting to him. If you’ve never done that, it’s as simple as sincerely confessing to God the wrong things you’ve done, telling him you believe all these things John wrote about Jesus, and in your heart acknowledging God is on the throne as King. These guys would more readily receive a false messiah coming in his own name than Jesus – because they had their own ideas of what they were looking for. AND a false messiah would more likely tell them what they wanted to hear.Jesus says it’s because they don’t actually love God. They would say they do, but Jesus knows their hearts. Proof: they’re rejecting him!3. Humble before an Audience of One, not Pride in Approval from Others544 How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?They wanted approval (glory) from others more than God.Charles Spurgeon [preacher 1800’s] – “But, oh, how many live on the [words] of their fellow men; to be approved — to be applauded — that is their heaven; but to be despised, to be sneered at, to be called fool, to have some nickname applied to them; oh no, they would sooner go to hell than bear that.”It’s easy to think we’re not like that. But I think we’re all tempted by this. I do not want to feed my pride by living for the approval of others. For me, one of the hardest ways I battle this is doing this – giving sermons. I want to not care what you think about me. But imagine yourself standing in front of hundreds of people trying not to care about their approval. That’s hard. I want to say whatever God wants me to say – regardless of what your response is. That’s hard. I can get self-conscious about preaching in a church with such a high standard for good preaching. For you it may not be preaching, but I wrestle with this in many other ways too – what is it for you? Where do you look for approval from others more than from God?What you look like – your appearance? Intelligence / Education / Knowledge? How people view your parenting? Leadership? Do you look for approval at work or in what you do for work? Athletics? Social media? Busyness?I like the tagline for the ministry Athletes In Action – “Audience of One”. Athletes are constantly tempted to focus on the approval of others (coaches, teammates, fans, sponsors), but it’s freeing to play for an audience of one. That’s how we should live our lives. We see in this passage what happens when you don’t.Palm SundayThis tension between those who received Jesus and those who rejected him continued until his death on the cross. Today is Palm Sunday, marking Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem one week before his resurrection. In John 12, people who had seen Jesus raise Lazarus from the dead gathered with others who had heard about it...John 12:13 “So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!”Yet only days later another crowd gathered and shouted “Crucify him!” The fact that you’re here this morning shows me which crowd you’re in, BUT...CONCLUSION6Let me encourage you to Humbly Pursue God, not just knowledge about God.Life isn’t found in the words of Scripture. Life is found in the Word that all of Scripture points to.1,000 lifetimes wouldn’t be enough to fully comprehend all that God has revealed about himself in the Bible. That should make us excited! There’s always more of his goodness to discover at deeper levels! If that overwhelms you, don’t worry – the entrance exam you’ll be judged on (so to speak) isn’t how much Bible you know, it’s who you know and put your trust in.The more you know him, the more humble you should become...the more you’ll love him... the more you’ll love others.... The more you’ll want others to experience the same – which highlights the amazing privilege WE have to be a new witness on the list...The Church. Individually & corporately.Ask God for opportunities & boldness to be a HUMBLE witness for Jesus. He’s been patient with us. We should patiently point others to him.I want to end with a video example of what it’s like to think we’re seeing clearly, only to have the wonderful realization that there are more layers of depth to Jesus than we realized before. This Man Named Jesushttps://vimeo.com/91943925©2014 Media That Matters

God Want us to Do what we are called to do
In Your Difficult Circumstances, Remember that Prayer Is a Conversation that God Wants to Have With You; Prayer Is Just You and Your Lord in Conversation MESSAGE SUMMARY: God desires to walk with you and to help you, but God does not provide you with this support unless you pray and ask Him. TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Loneliness. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Presence. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5). In These Times, You Need to Be Reminded that God Wants to Walk With You in All Your Life Situations, Both Good and Bad – Just Ask MESSAGE SUMMARY: “Lord is my helper and confident, why should I be afraid? When you are faced with life’s tragedies and the anxieties that result from just living your life, Jesus can turn those situations and your fears into ways and results that you cannot fathom, understand, or anticipate; but you can certainly appreciate. TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that because I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be ashamed of the Gospel. I will not be ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ for it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes (including me). (From Romans 1:16). One of the things that many of us are suspicious about are ministries that ask for money. Religion and money can be a toxic combination. And yet – God has a plan to involve His people in His work. So does God really need our money? Or is He after something else altogether? God Wants our Hearts I used to wonder a lot why it is, that God in His Book, His story, His love letter to us, this thing we call "the Bible" – I used to wonder why is it that God talks so much about money? Why does He talk about it so much, so directly and so painfully sometimes? And to tell you the truth, I used to be very sceptical of Christian ministries, like the one in which I now serve, who put out their hands – that's how I saw it – for money. Hang on, hang on, hang on, this all smells of a bit fishy. And so the picture I had in my head was quite simply this: this thing called the Bible is just a book written by a bunch of self-serving religious people who want to get their hands on my hard earned cash. That's honestly how I was it. I don't have that view anymore, although I am still a bit sceptical of the tele-evangelists who ask me for money to buy a jet, or who drives a Rolls Royce, I have to say. I believe in being a wise steward of what God's given me and I see a whole bunch of more pressing needs in this world than those. And so today in this second message, in this series called, “Money Matters – A Kingdom Perspective” what I wanted to do is to share with you the profound teaching from God's Word that changed my mind about this ... this money thing. The thing that helped me let go of the tight rein on my purse strings and open my heart and my wallet to the desperate needs of people – physical, emotional and spiritual – right across this world. Every now and then we receive a letter or an email here at Christianityworks, asking a very simple question about ministry and money. Generally the question goes something like this: "Okay, if you guys are a "faith" ministry like you say you are; if you really do believe that God will provide all your needs, why is it you just sent me a letter asking me for money? Why don't you just rely on God?" You know what? That is not an unreasonable question. In fact, it's quite a good question. And the assumption that seems to underpin it is that having faith in God for His provision and involving people in supporting His work, that those two are somehow mutually exclusive. The assumption is this: if you guys had faith, God would just provide so don't send out letters and emails. Now I want to look at that by taking you and me for that matter, to the Bible, directly into God's Word. It was at a time when God was commanding Moses to build the very first tabernacle; the Tent of Meeting; the mobile forerunner if you will, to the temple that was ultimately built in Jerusalem, many years later by King Solomon. Have a listen: The LORD said to Moses: Tell the Israelites to take for me an offering; from all those whose hearts prompt them to give you shall receive the offering for me. This is the offering that you shall receive from them: gold, silver, and bronze, blue, purple, and crimson yarns and fine linen, goats' hair, tanned rams' skins, fine leather, acacia wood, oil for the lamps, spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense, onyx stones and gems to be set in the ephod and for the breast-piece. And have them make me a sanctuary, so that I may dwell among them. That comes from Exodus chapter 25, verses 1 to 8. All the things in that list were incredibly things, but please ... please note with me, God's approach. God commanded Moses to go to God's people and ask them to give an offering. Not to cajole them, not to twist their arms, not to shame them or manipulate them, but to go to all those whose hearts prompt them to give. It was those whose hearts had been moved to give from whom Moses was to receive this precious offering unto the Lord. So here in the Bible, God commands the very first fundraiser; God commands Moses to go and ask God's people for money. So it seems that faith on the one hand and engaging God's people in giving on the other, well, they're not mutually exclusive in God's eyes. As it turns out, the exact opposite is true; they are intimately connected. So God really need my money? Does He need your money? Again, it's not a bad question! The last time I checked God was the creator of the whole universe. He owns it all! Everything that's in it was made for His glory and His pleasure. He owns the cattle, the Bible tells us, on a thousand hills. So, hunch is that God isn't sitting up there in heaven sweating on my donation or yours. You see, God isn't anxious or concerned about how He's going to fund His mighty deeds on this earth and nor should any minister or ministry in God's service be so concerned. Completely to the contrary, Jesus clearly taught us that God knows every need and that when we first seek His Kingdom and His righteousness, all that we need to meet our needs will follow along behind. Matthew chapter 6. And as I look throughout my Bible, from Moses, whom we have just discussed, right through to the Apostle Paul, who did a whole bunch of fundraising for the Christians in Jerusalem who were suffering in a famine, what I see is that the way God usually works – not always, but usually – is that He involves His people in funding His work. Let me say that again: He involves His people in funding His work. God's normal practice is to get us involved! So, if He doesn't actually need our money, why does He do that? The reason is that He wants, not so much our money, but our hearts. Remember what He said to Moses - who was to give: “... those whose hearts prompted them to give.” And God knows that our hearts are attached to our wallets. Now, I'm sorry to be that direct but it's true. That's exactly what Jesus said! Now this comes from a wonderful passage of teaching about not worrying all the time as to how our physical needs are going to be met. This is what Jesus said. Matthew chapter 6, verses 19 to 21: Do not store up for yourselves treasures here on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves can break in and steal them; but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Now, you think it would be the other way round – where your heart is, that's where you would put your treasure but it's not that way. If we hoard all our wealth up for ourselves then that's where our heart will ultimately be, wrapped up in ourselves. That's why if we hang onto our money, we end up serving the false god of mammon – wealth – and as Jesus points out, in doing that we are misplacing our faith. We are putting our faith in something that just won't deliver. More about that another time. If on the one hand we invest in the Kingdom of God as He calls us so to do – as He moves our hearts in one direction or the other, towards this need or that one – then our hearts will end up resting firmly in God. Our trust will end up in Him for all His provision rather in our temporal wealth. We can only serve one or the other – God or wealth – you can't serve them both. That's precisely what Jesus said, either we will be a slave to the one or we will be a slave to the other. God knows that and that's why He involves us financially in supporting His work, to give us the opportunity to have a change of heart. And that always costs us something. Friend, let me say it again: God doesn't need our money! Instead He wants our hearts. He wants all of us and He knows that involving us in sacrificial giving, that's exactly what He will get. It's a God thing! What someone gives, which Kingdom work or ministry that he or she supports and how much they give, and those things are entirely between that person and God. In your giving, it's between you and God. The point is simply this: God wants our hearts and He knows how bound up our hearts can be in our wallets. A Heart Divided Let me ask you: have you ever been on sporting team where there is an argument or disagreement or dissension? In Australia where I live, you sometimes see it within political parties. There's backbiting or there's arguing and instead of playing on the one team against the other team – which is how our system of government works – they end up playing against one another. And here's what happens: any team which is fighting amongst itself simply isn't going to win, whether it's a football game on a sporting field or an election to take government. Division, dissension, argument, disagreement – all that horrible, terrible stuff – tears a team apart. And when it's torn apart, everyone has to focus on that division, first winning then as so often happens, bayoneting the wounded – as we used to say in the Army – and then hopefully healing. And the longer this division and dissension go on, the worse it gets. Now, imagine if, instead of that happening amongst a team of people that this division is happening within you and me – within our hearts – that our hearts are torn between the one thing and the other; between doing this and doing that, believing this or believing that. I don't know if you have ever had that happen to you, but as a Christian I know that whenever I'm tempted, that is exactly what's going on. I want to do one thing, I want to honour God but the Apostle Paul writes in Romans chapter 7, I'm torn with following after my desires against God's will. And that ... that can't go on! Now, we have been chatting so far this week about this whole issue of God and money. Why? Because a lot of people are drowning in debt; a lot of people haven't learned to use money as a servant, rather than allowing their desire for wealth to master them and control them and enslave them. Remember it's not money itself here that is at fault but our love of money. First Timothy chapter 6, verse 10: For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And in their eagerness to be rich, some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pains. And I know so many people who are living with a divided heart on this matter of money. It may well be that they are giving to God's work – to the church and to the poor and needy, to this or to that, perhaps they are even tithing, giving ten percent of their income to God's work – and yet they still have a divided heart over money. On the one hand, they want to serve God but ever with what they are giving, they know that they still have more than enough to meet every whim and every desire to build their wealth, to produce more wealth so they can have a bigger house. See, once you have money it becomes a whole bunch easier to make more money. Or some people, some have managed to get themselves into so much debt that they simply can't afford to support God's work, to give money to the poor, to support their local church or the other things they feel God is really calling them to be involved in. As someone involved in this ministry, Christianityworks, that produces these radio programmes – something we can actually only do with the support of faithful people who pray for us and give financially – see, I see this quite frequently; this is a common thing. "Aw, I'd love to support you but my business isn't doing well", or, "I'm unemployed", or "I don't have a lot of cash at the moment". I had one man tell me that, and then take his rather large family off, not on just a holiday, but on a pretty expensive overseas holiday. Now please, don't get me wrong. The last thing I'm doing here is getting all bitter and twisted here about this phenomenon. My faith ... my faith is in God! And even through some of the most financially dire situations over the years, He has always showed up; He has always provided for our needs, invariably, through His people. What concerns me here though is the deception, "Aw, I don't have enough money to support God's work". In my experience, it's almost never about not having enough money, it's about the priorities we have, which if we examine those priorities, would tell us a lot about the divided nature of our hearts. I want to take you to meet a man called Cornelius. We meet him first in Acts chapter 10. He is the man whom God chooses first to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles. Remember up until this point, that God, therefore His Son was the God of the Jews. God had much, much bigger plans than that and the lynch pin here is Cornelius. Question is: why did God choose him and not someone else? Acts chapter 10, beginning at verse 1: In Caesarea there was a man named Cornelius, a centurion of the Italian Cohort, as it was called. He was a devout man who feared God with all his household; he gave alms generously to the people and prayed constantly to God. One afternoon at about three o'clock he had a vision in which he clearly saw an angel of God coming in and saying to him, “Cornelius.” He stared at the angel in terror and said, “What is it, Lord?” The angel answered, “Your prayers and your alms have ascended as a memorial before God." Why did God chose Cornelius? Because he was a pray-er and a giver and both those things told God that this man's heart was right. He was a man whom God would trust for the entry point for the Good News of Jesus into the Gentile world. What we do with our time and our money tells us an awful lot of what is going on in our hearts. Cornelius' heart was sold out to God, completely and utterly and that ascended as a memorial before God. In other words, it got God's attention and God noticed there was something going on here in this man's heart. The alternative is a divided heart. Have a listen to what Jesus says about that. Matthew chapter 12, verse 25. Jesus knew what they were thinking and said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and no city or house divided against itself can stand." Now, Jesus was saying that in a totally different context. Some people were accusing Him of being powered by the devil instead of by God, when He had cast a demon out and those words were His response. But the principle of what He is saying, a kingdom, a city, a house and let's follow it right down, a heart divided against itself cannot stand. Why are so many Christians struggling in their lives? Because they have a heart divided against itself. Flip flopping between God and mammon; God and wealth. Jesus said over and over again: you can't do that. You can only serve the one or the other; you can't be a slave to both. The only way I learned to do that – to be set free from this desire for wealth and to serve God instead, on reflection, the only way that I think that any of us can learn – is to make decisions to be involved in supporting the various Kingdom works that God calls us to support, to the level that He calls us to; that He moves our hearts to and then to go and do that, even if it costs us the holiday; even if it costs us something else that we really want. To give not the loose change, the leftover stuff in our pockets but to give sacrificially. Next week we are going to meet someone who did precisely that; someone who gave all she had. Friend, a house and a heart divided against itself cannot stand. Listen again: it cannot stand. As God challenges us about where we put our treasure – into His Kingdom or into our storehouses – what He is doing is He is asking for our hearts. And the thing that happens, as He has our hearts, we discover that they find a rest and peace and a safety and a security that we never thought was possible. A Change of Heart The mere fact that many of us want to chase after wealth – we're drawn, we're tempted to serve the god of mammon instead of the living God – demonstrates we're human. See, it's a natural tendency of our flesh to war against God and reject God. And every human heart desires security. And this place of struggle between holding on to all my money, devoting my life to making more, on the one hand and yet, being prepared to open our hearts and our wallets to the needs that God calls us to be part of meeting – is such an intense struggle for many people. Especially, let me say, for two classes of people: the very, very rich and the very, very poor. The next week on the programme we are going to meet one of each of those and see how they responded to this challenge. As I mentioned earlier, for me as a wealthy businessman who became a Christian later in life, was this huge struggle to get to the point of tithing my income. The more you earned the bigger one tenth of it is. Now, Jesus was human and Jesus had His struggles too. Not with money so much, as it turned out, but He was tempted by the devil. We read about that in Luke chapter 4 and elsewhere. But He had another struggle; another temptation; a much bigger one actually, much later in His ministry. It was a life and death struggle in the Garden called Gethsemane that demonstrated that this was not just the Son of God going to the cross but also the Son of man. This struggle shows us Jesus humanity. Come with me and listen - Matthew chapter 26, beginning at verse 36: Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane; and he said to his disciples, “Sit here for a while, while I go over there and pray.” He took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be grieved and agitated. Then he said to them, “I am deeply grieved, even to death; remain here, and stay awake with me.” And going a little farther, he threw himself on the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me; yet not what I want but what you want. Then he came to his disciples and (you know what?) he found them asleep, and he said to Peter, “Could you not stay awake with me one hour? Stay awake and pray that you may not come into the time of trial; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Again he went away for the second time and prayed, “My Father, if this cannot pass unless I drink from it, your will be done.” Again he came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy. So leaving them again, he went away and prayed for the third time, the same words.” See, three times He asks for this great burden of having to die on the cross, to be taken away from Him and yet three times He yields His will, His very life to God, His Father. He is prepared to die that He may bring life to many. It's this same Jesus who said in Luke chapter 9, verse 24: For those who want to save their lives will lose them but those who lose their lives for my sake will save them. And friend, that applies so much to our money. Those who cling onto it greedily, serve another master. Those who follow God's call to give much of it away, even all of it if that's what God demands of us (he does that sometimes, not always) those people demonstrate they are serving the one true God. And for many, this struggle is so intense because their faith is in their money; in their wealth; in their security, rather than God. They depend on wealth rather that this Carpenter on the cross. And I have to tell you, I was there. I spent a lot of my time there, a lot of my early Christian walk there. I wanted to put my faith and my trust completely in my capacity to earn money. Let me tell you though friend, money is not secure. Money fails! And the only way to change, the only way to trust God instead of money is to shift our treasure “for where our treasure is, there our heart will also be.” Our heart follows our treasure! It's how I learned to overcome the struggle, truly, from being a wealthy, selfish businessman, hanging on to all my money, to being someone who now lives by faith in God on a daily basis. And as big a risk as that might seem up front, letting go of some of our wealth for Jesus sake; letting go of a substantial proportion of our wealth for Jesus sake – as scary as that seemed to me – now as I look back, I have a peace; I have a safety; I have a security in trusting in God that I never, ever, ever found when I was trying to trust in money. It's such an incredible paradox and it's such a difficult step sometimes to take a significant amount of money – not lose change – a significant amount of money and sow that into the Kingdom of God, where He calls us. My heart followed my treasure, just as Jesus said. First I had to move my treasure, and what happened? My heart followed along behind it!
The Twenty-Four Hours of the Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ with Its multiple Imprimaturs Is Unique in its Reparative Capacity. We Enter Into Praying the Ultimate Reparative Act of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We Fuse Through, With and In Him for Love of Him, Returning that Love With Which He Eternally Loves the other Two Persons Within the Most Holy Trinity. It Is recommended as the First Primer, the First Introduction, to Entering and Knowing Well the Great Gift of Living In the Divine Will: the Gift of Gifts, the Prodigy of Prodigies, our Inheritance, that God Wants us not only to Receive From Him, but to then also Return to Him by Living His Act of Eternal Reciprocity. Fiat! A living clock of the Hours of the Passion can be done by you (or you and as many friends as you gather to share in different Hours each day) beginning anywhere in time and moving consecutively through the Hours - no matter where you choose to begin, you can trust that somewhere else in the world someone else is praying these Hours with you. This is a beautiful practice to start on Ash Wednesday and go through Holy Saturday as a Reparative Gift for Jesus! Fiat! However, these Hours can be prayed any time and as often as you feel Called By Him. Fiat!

God Wants you to Be Free Luke 4:18
Spending time in the Bible can be a challenging element of our relationship with God to unpack: do we do it out of guilt? Does it even matter if we read it? Shawn unpacks the 'why' behind spending time in the Bible, and he reminds us that God WANTS to speak to us through His Word! Our time in the Bible doesn't make God love us more or less, but it does allow God to speak to us in profound ways. Spending time in the Bible empowers us to build a strong foundation of faith and Shawn encourages us to 1) read it and 2) do it. ________ 167: TAKE HOME FAITH: Each of us has 168 hours in a week, and we get to spend 1 of those in church together each week. Following Jesus in your other 167 hours hinges on 4 things: God's Word, prayer, worship, and God's people.
Rarely does life go as we planned. And many of us look and say, "My life is all over the place." Do you feel that? Take a moment and listen to this powerful message from Pastor Josh Bunton. God WANTS to breath into the scattered places of our lives, and bring beauty. It is the grand exchange! His Beauty for your ashes, His song for your lament, His Glory for your shame. Wow!

It's our pleasure to be here. Who are we? Who are you? I am Sam, right, or are you Sam? Yes I'm Sam. I am a filmmaker, and photographer, based out of Southern California. This is my wife, Amanda, and loving mother of our daughter, who is two, and a baby to be, our son coming in, like, about a month or so. So awesome. Gettin' really crazy up in here. Yeah, we've been married for seven and a half years. June will be eight, which is insane we've been together for ten years, now? It's two hands. Yeah, two hands Yeah, you have to count on two hands now. I think that, yeah, I stay at home with our daughter, and soon our son, and it's just a blessing the life that we get to live together. Awesome. So awesome, guys, thanks for sharing and letting everyone know that, and, you know, we've known you guys for just over, you know, seven years. Because, we remember going to your wedding Oh yeah, I was trying to think, did we know them before they were married. I actually have a really embarrassing moment from your wedding. I don't know if you guys ever knew this, but I tripped and fell coming out of the wedding into the reception, and yeah, it was really embarrassing. Was it high heels that you were wearing? I was wearing high heels, I never wear high heels, and I was like, I'm gonna dress up, yeah, so I fell right on my face. That can be. That's awesome. I think I remember that. So we've known you guys for quite a while, you guys are good friends of ours. We live separately now, but I think we still keep in touch pretty regularly. Yes! And, we're excited to have you on the show today, because you guys have been a part of our journey for a long time, we've been a part of your journey. Just growing in God, growing in marriage, becoming parents, and you know, we're talking about God's Will For Your Marriage. It's from Chapter 12 in our book, and we love that you guys have constantly been pursuing that in your life. And so, we're not expecting you guys to have all the answers, we just love talking to you, we wanna discuss this idea of what that looks like. And, we have some questions for you guys, and hope you are ready. Well, probably not. So, where to start. Start with the icebreaker. Being honest. Yeah We're gonna start with the icebreaker, so you know, this is lighthearted stuff here. Where have been your favorite place to travel together? We probably agree on this one, I would say Iceland. Yeah, we went to Iceland. It took us two years to get pregnant with our daughter, and in those two years, we traveled a lot. And those two years, are some of the best years of our life, and I think God really allowed us to Well, I'm thinking that in the year that we ended up getting pregnant, I know I personally had been on thirteen trips in twelve months, and I think you were on twelve of those with me. Yeah, so it was crazy, but Iceland was during that time, and so, it was a really kind of vulnerable time in our life. But a really special kind of unifying trip, and Iceland is an incredibly beautiful place, so it was definitely unique for multiple reasons. Iceland, that's the green one, right? Yeah, the green one. Greenland's the white one, and Iceland's the green one. Thank the Vikings for that. Yeah, they switched them on purpose, yeah. Well, that's awesome. What's our favorite trip that we've ever been on together? Canada? Corona Corona? No, not Corona. I would say our last trip to Maine, that was really wonderful. That was actually, Maine, I want to go back to Maine, you're right that was a good one. We've been to Maine, too. Especially in the Fall, the leaves were changing, yeah. Beautiful Good food. Awesome, good answers to the icebreaker. Iceland, icebreaker. Oh, there you go, yeah. So, I'm gonna share a quote real quick from, and this might set a tone for us, its from Chapter 12 from the Marriage After God book, God's Will For Your Marriage, and this is the quote "As the people of God and as the children of the Creator, "it is our inheritance to take on the family business "of proclaiming with our words, actions and love "for one another that Christ came "to reconcile the world to God." And so, that's kinda this big, big, big picture, like the overall, large Will that God has for His people. So, but, you know, how does that play out in the everyday, how does that play out in all the unique details of our lives and what God's doing with us. It's kinda what we wanna talk about today, so. Yeah, which leads us into our first question, and that's when you hear the term God's Will, what do you guys think of? That's a big question. That's a loaded question. That's a loaded question. Honestly, for me, when I think of the word, God's Will, I kinda substitute it for the word, plan. And, that His Plan, is far superior than my own, so that's kinda what I think of my mind I guess. What I think of is that God has His Perfect Will, and His Permissible Will. His Perfect Will being His Perfect Plan, of course, the trajectory for our lives that He would have us take. And then, Permissible, as what He allows to happen in our lives, or decisions that He allows us to make. And, so, that's kinda where my mind goes when I think about that, when I think about those two, kinda, avenues Yeah That's good. So, I think, I like those words you used, you know, His Perfect Will, His Permissible Will, we've talked about that a lot in the past, and just the two different varying ideas of that. And, then, I liked the word, Plan, you know, what's His Plan like, what is His Plan for my life, you know. What's my Will for everyday, you know, like, and we'll probably jump into that more. Like if I change the word, Will, to Plan, it kinda, I don't know, pretty much grounds it a little bit more, for me. Right, yeah, I think that's a good word for listeners to be like, okay, God's Will is like His Plan. And, I feel like that many Christians want to know God's specific Will for their lives, I feel like, especially, Millennials and these younger generations, what's my call, what's my passion, what am I supposed to do in this world? You know that we hear that a lot. But, in the Christian terms, what is our unique ministry, or call on our life? And, we wonder that, but it can feel elusive or ambiguous. Do you guys feel that way in your life? Do you feel like God's Will and Plan for your life, specifically, is ambiguous, or elusive, or do you guys feel otherwise? For me personally, I would say no, because I guess I'm kind of a unique case, that ever since I was a kid, I've always known what I wanted to do with my life. And I wasn't going to, I was going to fight for it, like you know, I had no extra, I had no plan B, there was no extra alphabet letters for me, it was plan A, or bust. For me, I always knew I wanted to be a filmmaker, photographer, and be like, a storyteller through visuals. And, I know, it's been something that God placed on me, because it's allowed me to effortlessly to somehow work in the Church world, doing video work, that's kinda led to other opening, doors opening, and it's kinda been like a chain reaction. And, I know that God's called me to do it, I don't know on what scale, but I know His Plan is still unraveling for me in that sense, and what He wants me to do in that realm. So, for me, it's kinda hard, because I have friends who always go, like, I don't know what I'm supposed to do with my life, I don't even know what my passion is. You know, for me, I've been passionate about this one thing since I was probably five years old, you know. I know ever since I've known you. Yeah Ever since I've known myself You've had a natural draw toward it, and a talent to go with it. And I know, that's not the case for a lot of people. A lot of people don't even know what they want to do 'til college years, you know, so for me, it's literally been through from my DNA, and I know God placed it there on purpose. Definitely Go ahead, Aaron, did you have a question for Sam? I was just going to say, Amanda, how does that planned out the question for you? So, Sam having this call on his life has, God has worked through and allowed me to be able to stay at home. Which, becoming a mom for me was a total identity shift, because this question was, I would say for me, so does it feel elusive and ambiguous? I would say, yes and no, for me. It seems to have ebb and flow through the different seasons that life brings. I think for a long time, I felt kind of maybe lost, maybe less than, because I didn't have this big pull toward something specific, towards starting an organization, or you know, being a missionary in Africa, or you know, doing things just really big scale, like, just things like that, and so, it's kind of made me feel like, well, other people are doing these big things, like does God have this big grand plan for my life, and I Being a mom is no joke Being a mom is no joke, but anybody who is a stay at home mom, or mom, I guess, on any scale, would probably agree and say that the day to day doesn't really feel very grand. You know, when I'm sitting and reading a book with my daughter, or I'm coloring Minnie Mouse on the next coloring book, like we did tonight You color very well though I did stay inside the lines, so, but I've learned that it doesn't have to be one big thing, and that it looks different for everybody. And, that God calls some people to really big things, multiple things, smaller scale things, and I think for right now for my season of life, my season is being a mother. That's what He's allowed me to do, that's what He's brought Sam's career to a place where I'm able to do that. But, even in terms of since I've known you, like our first date, I think I asked you what is your dream in life. And, you didn't have a career dream, you literally said I would love to be a stay at home mom. Yeah So that's here we are seven years later. But, I see these amazing women, who are moms that also have these, you know, careers that they're pursuing, so that was a struggle for me, when I first became a mom, I guess let it feel like a nothin' So, for me I think what it could mean for my life is living out the Fruits of the Spirit intentionally each day in my home, and when I go out. And working at being obedient, and open, and flexible as a vessel for God's Purposes, whether it's big and grand to me, or small. Like I was telling Sam earlier, it feels a little bit like, you know, if you put five bucks, if you donate five bucks to the Church, or wherever, like, what we could do with that five dollars is so much different than what God could do with that five dollars. Do you know what I mean? So, that's kind of how it feels like. What may seem small and insignificant in my day to day, like, I never know the impact that God's gonna take, how He's gonna, how it's gonna manifest in the future. If that makes sense. Right Yeah, I mean, like, being a stay at home mom, she's able to share that lifestyle on her social media, and I think it's just manifested into something else that I don't think either one of us really knows what's happening behind that digital curtain, you know what I mean? Right The lives that we impact, we don't even know, it could be one person, it could be hundreds of people. But, I know a lot of people, you know Amanda's not going to say this, but I know a lot of women look up to her as a woman and as a mom. That's a powerful thought. Seriously, we're only two questions in, and I'm like, you guys this is so powerful. And I think those listening are being so encouraged right now, because so many are, you know, stay at home moms, or are moms with, you know, businesses or careers in other things that they're doing, or even dads, you know, and I think that it can, I just feel like you guys are hitting so many points right now that are encouraging people's hearts. And I just wanted to say thank you for your authenticity, and your transparency right now, because we need to hear it. Yeah, and I also think the idea that we sometimes think, you know, ministry or God's Will for my life, it doesn't look like that other person, that comparison idea, so I must not be doing it. We talk about that all the time We do Someone who could be on a pastor or, you know, preaching in front of thousands of people, people go like, oh man, this guy is doing things for the Kingdom, you know, but at home you don't know what's happening. You know, it's because of putting on this facade Could be It could be, yes, of course, I'm not saying it's everybody, obviously, but you know, we try not to put up any facades or anything like that, and we both work from home, so not a lot of people see what we do. And, here's the thing you guys, if you guys are a parent, you're doing something every single day for God's ministry, you're building up His Kingdom by raising godly children, and children who will know Him, and will walk in His ways, and so, that right there, is such a powerful ministry, regardless if anyone on social media ever knows. Yeah, and that's what, you know, one of the things we want to draw out in this book so much, is that God does have a Will for our life and marriage, and just because it doesn't look like what other people are doing, God wants us to be obedient where He has us. He wants us to serve Him and love Him and worship Him where He has us. And, not to, you know, that's coveting, we don't, He doesn't want us to covet anything, let alone someone else's, you know, talent or resource, or what God's given them. And, so it sounds like you guys, have settled into the idea that what you have, is what God has for you to do. Yeah, absolutely Yeah And it's not someone else's thing, and it's not some other thing Yeah, the only way, like I get, I've tied it in somehow going back to social media is, you know, when you have a decent following on a platform, a lot of people think to themselves, I wish I had this because I wish I had this many followers because then I'd get more people to see my work, or something like that. But, I've always encouraged people that if God has given you an audience of a hundred, those are a hundred hearers for you to preach to, or, you know, send a message to, or whatever, and if you're, you know, get blessed to have more, that's just more hearers, you know. And more responsibility And more responsibility, absolutely, so if you have five people who follow you on a social platform, what do you want to tell those five people, you know. It's kinda equals out, that's for sure. I love that, so do you guys, and that's exactly what we're getting at with this, is like, we're in God's vocation. What we do with our life, whether it be a filmmaker, a photographer, a mom, it's the, we have the same, God has the same Will for us as He does for everyone. It's to do His Will, it's to spread His message, to our children, to our coworkers, to that person that we are going to the coffee shop with, or you know, do you guys see yourself in ministry together? Even in these separate roles? Do we see ourselves in ministry together? We do, well, we're both home, with Lucy. Sam's work is often at home, he doesn't have to travel very often, and so I think that, Lucy has a bit of a unique childhood, in that she has both parents home. And so, like I said, I really believe, well I haven't said it yet, but I'm sure that I will, but the ministry at home is the most important some of the, you know, just what you do at home. And so, having a mom and having a dad, being able to influence her, discipline her, et cetera, I think that's a huge thing, and then, a lot of our lives are also on social media, and Yeah, I really think that the ministry word, can be such a larger scale, 'cause it's literally at least for me, I try to live in my house the same way I do out and about and in public. That's good, yeah. So like, you know, I'm not, I don't try to be all loving with other people out and about, and come home and I'm like mad, or like short with my wife and daughter. You know, if I'm short and frustrated with my daughter at home, I'm short and frustrated with other people out and about, you know. Nah, I'm just kidding, like You're consistent I try to be consistent But, I think, you know, the ministry that we're called to do is to literally love one another as much as we possibly can, you know, and on this Earth as Christians we are not here to judge. That's not our place, we have one Judge. So, while we are here on Earth, I feel like our calling is just to literally love on every single person. And, I think in doing that, it creates a light, and people are attracted to light, and people will naturally be like, oh, what's so different about you, and why, you know, who is this person, and I'm curious about it, and that can open up doors, you know. And that's simply as, if you're a barista, saying hi, or like, picking up a coffee for somebody, they'll be like, ah, that doesn't happen very often, and that even comes down to generosity, it's contagious, you know. So, that's what I feel like my ministry in life is to try and lead, but like lead as much by example, as I possibly can, you know, not necessarily walk around with a soap box, and like, shoving things down people's throat, you know. Yeah, I love that, so you know, we asked the question if you see yourself in ministry together, and sometimes it's hard to think of well, yeah, he does this and I do this, and yeah, sometimes we do that together. But, there's so much more in this idea of it being on the same team, being one in our ministry. So, you know, Amanda and the way she is around you, and the way she serves you, and loves you, gives you that energy and ability to go and do the same to others, and then the way you love and cherish your wife, allows her to have the energy and strength to not only, you know, disciple her children well, and love them well, and be with them and have the energy to do that. But, then also her girlfriends and, you know, her people that she sees when she's out and about, and so it's this oneness that we have, that we get to fulfill the Will of God, together. That's kinda, it's exactly what you're saying. Like, you're like, you know, it's our life, we are a light in this world, and we're preaching God's message, not our own. And, even though, it looks different in our individual ways of being during the day, we do it together, you know, that's kinda where we're hoping to encourage those listening. Whether you can perfectly verbalize it, that's what you are doing, that's how you explained it. It's a sport It's a team sport, yeah. And you're not playing singles tennis over here, you know, you're playing like a huge team sport. And, the funny thing is, we've already won, so that's like you should be able, can you imagine if every team knew that they won, how much boldly they would play. Yeah, we actually have a question up here. We skipped it because you guys kinda answered it already. But, I love that you just said, that if they knew they were gonna make every goal, how boldly they'd play. It says if you knew exactly what God's Will was for your marriage, would it encourage you to pursue it? Right. Yeah, we were talking about that one earlier. I'll say my answer first. I honestly believe that if you're in your Word, and you're praying, you know, continuously, daily, that your heart ends up aligning with God's heart. And that you're, at the end of the day, your will almost becomes His Will, and vice a versa. Yeah, I love that It's aligned, so naturally, sorry, so of course I would want to pursue God's Will in marriage, and in all things, because I feel like my heart is aligned with what He wants, you know. And, again, it comes down to God's Will, right, God's Will, actually change the word from Will to Plan, why would I not want His Plan, because His Plan is definitely gonna be way better than my own plan. And His timing Amen More than my own timing I love that, I think you nailed it too. Real quick, sorry, in God's Word, in prayer, I thought it was good that your will begins to align It does And it's funny because, you know, being a Christian, I've been a Christian for as long as I've known myself. You've known yourself a long time A very long time, and I've been a Christian, not the entire time, but Amanda and my resolution for last year was to read the entire Bible in a year's time. Oh cool You know we've read the Bible in pieces over our lives, and stuff, but actually never in its entirety. And in doing that, every single day, you know, I literally sought Him more, you know, it's like hanging out with your best friend every day. You get to know that person so much more, you're in more conversations, you know, it's hard to know somebody if you're not talking Amen, I love that, thank you for encouraging our listeners to read through the Bible this year. I love that. Honestly, if you guys want, I If we can do it, you can do it Yeah, and it's just really just the Holy Bible, the YouVersion, there's plans in there, 'cause we were thinking about how do we do this, you know Genesis, Chapter One, is the beginning of the Bible Yeah, it's written chronologically Yeah, there's a chronological plan that was in there. For me, as a storyteller, I've never read the Bible in this way, because it literally was, you know, the events from the beginning to the end, in chronological order, wasn't just reading Genesis to Revelation. Right, 'cause that's not necessarily in chronological order, yeah. Yeah, and so for me, I'm like, whoa, this makes so much more sense, to see literally the whole like, especially, the New Testament, I mean the Old Testament, literally, kinda like, flow and me playing it as a movie in my head, you can see like the cross space between each book, and stuff like that, where the new characters are coming in but they're related, it's just, it just really opened up my eyes in a whole new way. Love that So, for me, for this one, if you knew exactly what God's Will was for your marriage, would it encourage you to pursue it? My answer is maybe, and that's because I know in having lived life, and seen other people live life, that God's Will can be scary at times. Because we sometimes don't understand it, we sometimes question it, it takes faith, a tremendous amount of faith, to trust in the unseen and in the uncertain. So, if He were to reveal that to me, would I jump in with both feet, and be like, okay cool, I'm on board. I don't know that I would, because I think a majority of us would probably agree with you Right, and because I have flesh, and you know, God's Will is amazing, but it's not always Easy Designed, yeah, to make us happy, and so. But that's not why we're here, that's not our purpose, you now, and so, we're here to love God and love others, and to establish and further His Kingdom. And so And living a, you know, in God's Will is literally hard. Living a Christian life is hard, because you get tried all the time, and it's just funny, it's one of those things where it's like, you know, you pray that you want patience, for whatever reason, and God doesn't just grant, He's not a genie, He's not gonna grant to you patience, He's gonna test you He teaches you With patience, like, oh my God, why am I going through this again. He's like, well, you stopped learning your lesson It's a scary thing to pray for He doesn't just grant you wishes, so it's definitely hard. He gives us His Spirit, and then empowers us to walk in the things that He tells us to walk in. Like, endurance, and patience, and peace when everything's chaotic But I love Sam's answer too for this one, in just that your will really does, that's how you know, you know, that's how you know God's Will, because you're in His Word and you're praying, and your will will align with His, so even if He were to reveal that Will to me, if I was close enough to Him, I would understand this isn't about me, this isn't about my happiness, this is about other people, and about furthering His Kingdom. And, like you said Aaron, it's the Spirit would give me the strength, and the courage to accomplish what He's called me to do, and us to do in our marriage. Yeah, I don't even remember what the question is, but I'm just going off on a tangent Go for it, go for it Two things, one of our pastors told us within this past year that has absolutely stuck with me is, if your vertical relationship with God is aligned, and good, your horizontal relationships with people on Earth, are that much better as well. So, if I can't have a good vertical relationship with God, my relationship with my wife isn't gonna be as great. Strained So, if I focus, naturally, if you're having a bad relationship with somebody, bad relationship with your wife, you stop focusing on that person specifically, and start focusing on your vertical relationship with God, naturally, you'll start aligning and then your horizontal relationships start to align as well. That was just a big thing that I heard, and it just really stuck with me. And the other thing is, a lot of people just want joy in their life, and the pastor broke it down, if you want JOY, what's called an acronym, or whatever Yeah, acronym, yeah So if you put J, you put Jesus first, at all times, and then you put Others second, and you put Yourself last, naturally, you become joyous. And, that's how I've always been, and I don't know if that's something that my parents instilled in me, actually, once you become a Christian, that's when you put Jesus first, but I've always put others before myself. And, it's kinda like that saying where it feels better to give than to receive, you know. So, I think about, that's where a lot of joy comes from. When you're selfish, it's really absolutely hard for you to be joyous, because you're not being fulfilled. So, what you're saying is, in our marriage how we can fulfill God's Will for our marriage, and our lives, is to love God, love each other, and love others. I love that, because that's essentially Relationship, focus on Jesus, focus on your wife, and don't even think about yourself. Yeah, yeah, more specific Can you imagine if your wife just focused on you, and you focused on your wife, like you're filled with so much love. Oh, man, it's that I'll take up the cross thing, right? Lay myself down, you know Super easy I love that. Well, I really enjoyed just sitting back listening to you guys, this has been great. Did you guys even know that Sam could talk this much? I didn't, this is great. This is the most that I've ever heard Sam talk I wanna jump in and just again, just thank you for your vulnerability, and Amanda you had mentioned in saying that sometimes if we were to have known God's Will, the big picture, we would be scared, or it would be hard. So in keeping in line with that theme, have you guys ever passed up participating in something that God's invited you to do because you were afraid or because you thought you weren't qualified to do it? That's a hard question. The main thing for me that comes to mind, just off the top of my head, is I had kinda always felt a pull to sing on our worship teams at different churches and stuff, but just never felt good enough to do it. And, I did actually get up the courage, I've been a Christian most of my life, and so I ignored kinda that pull for many years, until our, a couple churches ago, so that was like maybe three, four years ago. And I got up the courage and I sang in a little audition thing, and they loved it, and I got out there, and God gave me the courage to kinda do that, and so, but the fear of kinda not being good enough, which is so ridiculous, and I know its ridiculous, but you just get in your head and you wonder what people are gonna think. I don't know, we all have some form of comparison in our lives, you know, and then we all have those insecurities speaking in our ears. Sometimes we're great at casting them down, and sometimes we believe them. So, that's kinda the only thing that I can think of, and I'm so glad that I did it. Cool, that's a good little story I don't think I really have an answer for it, because I went through a season where I was passionate about music, and I was drumming, and God put it on me to see if I could do music in the church, and I played drums for awhile. I was nervous, but I did that. I feel like that whatever passions I've had, or callings, that He's given me, I've kind of at least tried it, but I've never had, for example, the desire to be a preacher, or anything like that. But you tell stories with your videos. Yeah, absolutely, but if someone would be like, hey, come tell us a sermon, I'd be like, no thanks. They'd be like, well why not, well, God hasn't put it on my heart to do so. Like, I don't feel comfortable doing it, and God hasn't like tugged me in that direction. I don't really see why Yeah, Sam doesn't really get nervous or anything And I really don't fall under peer pressure Right And at the end of the day, we just wanna be obedient to the things God's given us, and like you said, not just wanting that other ministry that someone else has, because it seems like a greater ministry. But, take what God's given us, you know, being a mother, being a filmmaker, and using our marriage to glorify God, and to love people, and to show them who Christ is through our lives, and through our actions, and through our words. That's what God wants. We want Him to say one day when we look at Him, well done, good and faithful servant. Absolutely You've taken what I've given you, and you invested it well. And, that's the purpose of this whole episode, actually. Is to encourage those listening that, like, hey, it may not look like what other people are doing, but it's still God's Will for your life to serve God this way, to love your wife, to love your husband, to disciple your children, to love them. To love others, and to proclaim His Gospel to the world, through our lives, actions and words. So, we're gonna, we're not gonna get through all the questions, and that's okay, But, we want to get to this last question, and it's a really important one, and you better get the answer right, Amanda. I'm just kidding. In your own words, what is a marriage after God? Want me to go? Yeah, sure I, you know, if you want to learn anything from God, I think you just need to open the Bible, and I feel like that God is very specific in the Bible, by giving us Chapters like Ephesians Chapter 5 and 1 Peter, and you know, there are specific instructions towards husbands and wives. And it's actually pretty insane How specific it is? Yeah, how specific it is, especially 1 Peter Chapter three verse seven, I have it pulled up right here, and it says "Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live "with your wives" It's funny that it says wives, 'cause I kinda think of it as one person living with multiple wives. It's not though, yeah No, no, no, no "And treat them with respect, as the weaker partner, "and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, "so that nothing will hinder your prayers." That part right there, hinder your prayers, meaning if you do not show your wife respect in all these things, either God will not receive your prayers in full, or You won't be able to pray Or, yeah Too frustrated or Find it difficult to pray, that's kinda a big deal. So, it's like God's given you all the blueprints on how to have a godly Marriage, and its all, I don't feel like He's just kinda given us this life just to try to figure it out, and tell each other how to live a godly life. It's like in the Book, He's giving this message specifically for us to read it, you know, generations to come, and I think its' important for me as a dad and as a man in the house to make sure that my daughter knows that this is how she needs to be treated by a man, and now, having a son, how he needs to treat a woman. So, honestly, for me, it's just literally read the Bible and all your answers And do what It says, yeah, I like that Seems very simple. I read a book once called Sacred Marriage, that I totally need to read again, it's just a fantastic book, I forget the author, Gary Thomas Yeah, it's such a great book, and I read it years ago at the beginning of our marriage, but there was a quote in it that has stuck with me ever since then, and it says, I don't know if this is verbatim, but it says "Marriage is not meant to make us happy, but holy" And that was a really huge idea when I read it, and just, like does God care about our happiness, of course He does, but not ever at the expense of our holiness. Amen Sam was talking about our journey through the Bible last year, and reading through the Old Testament, is like crazy, it's wild, it like strings together a lot of the stories that we've heard kinda growing up as Christians, it's linked things together, ideas. But, I think a lot of the Old Testament was included in the Bible because God, it just shows us the measures that God took to ensure His people were holy, and consecrated. And to make sure that they not only looked different, but they lived differently, and when they didn't, there were consequences. And a lot of the times, it was death. Which of course, there were incredibly high standards, and that led for our need for Jesus. Thank God, I'm so glad that Thank Him I don't live in those days because those were it says crazy days. But, a marriage after God, seeks to be holy, I think, and needs to be intimate, whole and aware and active in its pursuit of loving God and loving others. And I know that's what we try to do, and we pretty much fail most of the time. Then you get back up and keep going Sam is perfect, everybody before himself, but I just think that the idea of holiness is something that all marriages are called to. And it's not something that can be accomplished on your own, it has to be through the Fruits of the Spirit, and just the Holy Spirit in general. And inviting Him into your everyday lives, and specifically parenting too. We're trying to remember to invite the Holy Spirit into every aspect of your life, is something for me, I have to remember constantly to do that, whether we are in a argument, or in a heated parenting moment, or at just different things, whatever life throws at you. I love that Amanda Yeah, it's a lot of intentionality to strive for holiness. Both those definitions I thought were really powerful. Thank you for that, so Sam, Amanda, where can people find you on Instagram, what's you guys' handles? Our last name is very easy to spell, it's kind of like Smith is a breeze No, it's not Our last names are kind of difficult, but my Instagram handle is @SamCiurdar, and Amanda's is @AmandaCiurdar, and our last names are spelled C-I-U-R-D-A-R, good luck everybody. And as usual, well first of all, thank you Sam and Amanda for coming on and sharing a little bit of your life with us, and encouraging all of the marriages that are listening that God has a Will for all of us, and we all get to walk in it, and we all get to be in it. So, yeah, thank you. Thanks for having us Absolutely, thanks for having us, for sure. Before we close, as usual, we're gonna close with a prayer, and Jennifer, would you like to pray for us? Sure Dear Lord, thank You for Your Holy Word. Thank you for sharing with us what Your Will is for our lives, and what Your will is for our marriages. We ask that we would continue growing in knowledge and understanding of Your Word. As husbands and wives, please help us to build and keep your Word as our strong foundation. We pray against our flesh from getting in the way of doing Your Will. When we start to wrestle with our flesh, Holy Spirit please defend us and help us to have victory over our flesh. Renew our perspective of life and marriage, so that we may see what You see. Reveal to us the bigger picture of how Your Will is being done in us, and through us. Motivate our hearts to use every part of our lives to live for You. May we understand the impact our ministry has as we walk faithfully every day with You and with each other. May we fulfill our part as Your body to share Your gospel with this lost world. In Jesus' Name, Amen. Amen, thanks for joining us this week, and we look forward to having you next week as we get into Chapter 13, Part 13 of this series. See you next week. Did you enjoy today's show?
