Anthony makes the case for Giannis being traded somewhere else actually being better for the Lakers, especially if they can land the wing they need for a discount and maybe even wait for Antetokounmpo's impending free agency. Nate and Danny tackle Western Conference mailbag questions from the Dallas Mavericks through the LA Lakers, digging into star-trade calculus, emerging young players, and which contenders really scare OKC and Denver.Dallas Mavericks — 0:55Is Max Christie's 65% true shooting for real, and if/when his shooting regresses, can he still be a starter on a championship team? How should Dallas value and time a potential Anthony Davis trade—what kind of package is “enough,” how much does the extension/player option risk matter, and is it better to move him now or wait?Given their place in the standings and draft-lottery odds, how low can Dallas realistically fall in the West, and how much does that affect the urgency to trade Davis?Would a Trae Young–for–Anthony Davis swap make sense for either the Mavericks or the Hawks in terms of fit and direction? How does the Derek Lively–Cason Wallace–Dāvis Bertāns draft-night trade look 2.5 years later for both Dallas and OKC, and which side would you rather be on now?Denver Nuggets — 17:57How has Peyton Watson grown offensively, and is he finally ready to be a reliable playoff-rotation player? Why is Zeke Nnaji still getting minutes over DaRon Holmes—are the Nuggets trying to pump up Nnaji's trade value, or do they genuinely see him as the better fit? What are Denver's best and worst potential playoff matchups in the first two rounds (with OKC assumed as the 1-seed and off the board)?Golden State Warriors — 28:40As in so many recent seasons, the Warriors hit mid-December around .500—what's the single biggest factor that can actually turn their season around? Is there any realistic “retool” path where Golden State trades some of the youth to become a legitimate threat again in games where Steph drops 40+ (e.g., moving Pods/Kuminga plus picks for a real starter)? Is the fan criticism of Brandin Podziemski this year justified—how good is he actually and what are his limitations? How much faith should we have in the Warriors' front office to build another contender post-Steph based on their track record? What's the most likely resolution with Jonathan Kuminga—do the Warriors still see him as a core piece, or is he basically just flotsam matching salary at this point? With Steph still playing at an elite level but the team stuck in the middle, are the Warriors really in an intractable “can't blow it up / can't contend” quandary, or is the path forward actually straightforward?Houston Rockets — 44:17If Giannis becomes available, should the Rockets not go after him this season because of OKC's dominance and instead wait to add another star later, or is this exactly the kind of opportunity you must seize? How much better would Giannis actually make Houston in the next 2–3 years compared with just riding out growth with Alperen Şengün and the current core—and is a Şengün-for-Giannis framework ever worth it?Is a core trio of Amen Thompson–Şengün–Giannis really viable given their combined limitations, and if so, who becomes the odd man out long-term?Is Reed Sheppard being misused when he's just parked in the corner while others run the offense—are the Rockets wasting his on-ball skills by treating him like a pure 3-and-D guard?Including possible trades, who is the bigger playoff threat to the Thunder this year: the Spurs or the Rockets?LA Clippers — 53:52Do the Clippers' struggles this season help them at all when the league decides Kawhi Leonard's punishment, or is that totally irrelevant to discipline? How much of the Clippers' disaster season is real underlying weakness versus bad clutch luck and opponent shooting luck (teams bombing threes against them)? What is the most likely course of action for the Clippers at the trade deadline—could they or should they do any kind of “firesale” given they owe so many picks? In hindsight, did the Clippers have the worst offseason—essentially gifting Miami an All-Star-caliber Norman Powell while signing a washed Brook Lopez—and how badly did that set them back? What are the realistic odds the Clippers can claw back to the 10th seed and at least mildly salvage their season?LA Lakers — 1:04:21The Lakers' record is great but their net rating is mediocre—what are their biggest weaknesses or needs, and do they actually play well enough consistently to reach the West finals or NBA Finals? In the MVP discussion, did you underrate Luka Doncic compared with Giannis—if you swapped their team contexts (Luka on the Bucks, Giannis on the Lakers/Mavs), how would that affect their cases, especially when you account for defense? With LeBron driving less and spending more time on the perimeter, would the Lakers' offense be better if they used him more in the post/elbow or as a handoff hub instead of having him just initiate from outside? Morale is low today after the Dolphins get embarrassed on Monday night football against the Steelers, and now are officially eliminated from the playoffs. We touch on the struggles of the Miami Heat as they lost their 5th game in a row last night versus the Raptors. Tobin and Leroy dissect the game and evaluate the possibilities in the future for the Miami Dolphins. We take calls and hear from all the disgruntled Dolfans. We roll right into the second hour fielding more calls from Dolfans, and get into a discussion of whether or not the Dolphins organization is dysfunctional. The guys talk about possible future head coach scenarios for the Miami Dolphins. Leroy poses a question to the Dolphins fans, are you willing to be patient when they inevitably rebuild. We get into the Miami Heat's struggles as they drop to the Toronto Raptors for their 5th straight loss. Tyler Herro was a late scratch; Leory and Brittney feel like this could mean a trade soon but are shocked to find out Tobin doesn't agree. We then dip into our Mixed Bag and hear from; Aaron Rodger's ego and an annoyed Troy Aikman. We continue to break down the Dolphins getting embarrassed and eliminated on Monday versus the Steelers, we hear Tua and Jordy Brook's postgame comments. The guys make sure to praise the Cats as they took down the Lightning last night as they continue to impress. Would Giannis coming to the Heat be the immediate fix they need right now, or are their issues bigger than that? We wrap this Somber Tuesday with a little silly sauce as we discuss swimming with monkeys, and get in our last blows to Tua for his lacking display of disappointment after the game last night.

Jonathan Macri of Knicks Film School joins Combo's Court for a wide-ranging conversation about the New York Knicks' championship chances, the upcoming NBA Cup final, and the current state of the NBA. Jonathan breaks down why Jalen Brunson means so much to the Knicks and Grades Kat's season thus far. The conversation expands into bigger league questions — who should be untouchable in a Giannis trade, how Victor Wembanyama fits into NBA history, whether Jokic belongs in the GOAT conversation, and why every generation of basketball players keeps getting better. Tobin is fired up after seeing the Dolphins practicing in the snow on Saturday, but Leroy and Brittney aren't very moved by the sentiment. We discuss some more what we think the NFL Playoff landscape could look like as it seems there are no true front runners. We dip into our mixed bag but we quickly get derailed when Tobin poses a question to South Florida sports fans; if you could have either, which would you take… Joe Burrow to the Miami Dolphins or Giannis to the Miami Heat?
We kick off the last hour with some sound bits from the Cats after their dominant win on Saturday over the Dallas Stars and Philip Rivers shares how it feels to get hit again after 5 Years away from the NBA. We get an update on our poll of which South Florida fans would prefer Joe Burrow to the Miami Dolphins or Giannis to the Miami Heat? Then it is time to wrap up the show with our favorite Monday game of Alright! Oh No!; Tobin is mad at the fish, Leroy ain't buying the Phins in the snow, and Brittney has a soft spot for Philip Rivers!

We have a busy Monday slate as the Dolphins take on the Steelers on MNF, the Heat play the Raptors, and the Cats are in action against the Lightning. Tobin was locked into Phillip River's return to football, the Colts almost got away with that one. It was an NFL Sunday full of injuries and elimination as the gang gets into the Chiefs missing out on the playoff and who they think could take the AFC. Leroy is disgusted by how Pavia reacted to not winning the Heisman, he took petty to a whole other level, and it's time to gather around the locker room as Leroy gives away his Gameballs and Gamebums, this edition ALL about the Heisman. Tobin is sick of people trying to bait him with the Giannis to the Heat rumors, he swears that he is a changed man and will not resort back to his old ways of getting excited about players coming to Miami… we all call bs. He then goes on to rant about the NBA begging them GIVE THE HEAT THEIR PICK! Leroy spends the segment fighting with technology and Tobin has enough
We kicked off the show with some bad losses from last night, Tobin was defeated after the Avalanche beat down on the Cats and the Bucs went down after being up by 14. Leroy is somber after reports come out on who Michigan they are looking at to be their next head coach. We preview the Monday Night Football matchup between the Dolphins and Steelers. We start off the second hour with a bit of silly sauce as Tobin tries to convince Leroy and Brittney of his ridiculous time zones theories. We quickly pivot as Tua told the media that he was “happy” with the Dolphins despite him not throwing the ball much, and Tobin raises the question if Tua will even be here next season.
