Jonathan Macri of Knicks Film School joins Combo's Court for a wide-ranging conversation about the New York Knicks' championship chances, the upcoming NBA Cup final, and the current state of the NBA. Jonathan breaks down why Jalen Brunson means so much to the Knicks and Grades Kat's season thus far. The conversation expands into bigger league questions — who should be untouchable in a Giannis trade, how Victor Wembanyama fits into NBA history, whether Jokic belongs in the GOAT conversation, and why every generation of basketball players keeps getting better. They also dive into coaching adjustments under Mike Brown, Josh Hart's impact, the evolving style of play, officiating debates, and whether the Knicks truly have a championship ceiling this season! Tobin is fired up after seeing the Dolphins practicing in the snow on Saturday, but Leroy and Brittney aren't very moved by the sentiment. We discuss some more what we think the NFL Playoff landscape could look like as it seems there are no true front runners. We dip into our mixed bag but we quickly get derailed when Tobin poses a question to South Florida sports fans; if you could have either, which would you take… Joe Burrow to the Miami Dolphins or Giannis to the Miami Heat?
We kick off the last hour with some sound bits from the Cats after their dominant win on Saturday over the Dallas Stars and Philip Rivers shares how it feels to get hit again after 5 Years away from the NBA. We get an update on our poll of which South Florida fans would prefer Joe Burrow to the Miami Dolphins or Giannis to the Miami Heat? Then it is time to wrap up the show with our favorite Monday game of Alright! Oh No!; Tobin is mad at the fish, Leroy ain't buying the Phins in the snow, and Brittney has a soft spot for Philip Rivers!
We dip into our mixed bag but we quickly get derailed when Tobin poses a question to South Florida sports fans; if you could have either, which would you take… Joe Burrow to the Miami Dolphins or Giannis to the Miami Heat?
We have a busy Monday slate as the Dolphins take on the Steelers on MNF, the Heat play the Raptors, and the Cats are in action against the Lightning. Tobin was locked into Phillip River's return to football, the Colts almost got away with that one. It was an NFL Sunday full of injuries and elimination as the gang gets into the Chiefs missing out on the playoff and who they think could take the AFC. Leroy is disgusted by how Pavia reacted to not winning the Heisman, he took petty to a whole other level, and it's time to gather around the locker room as Leroy gives away his Gameballs and Gamebums, this edition ALL about the Heisman. Tobin is fired up after seeing the Dolphins practicing in the snow on Saturday, but Leroy and Brittney aren't very moved, as we discuss the NFL Playoff landscape with no true front runners. Citizen Action of Wisconsin executive director Robert Kraig joins to discuss how the state should handle data centers and energy costs. We also talk healthcare at both the state and federal level, and Wisconsin's gerrymandered US House maps, as there are two lawsuits pending seeking to change them. We began the show, though, since Citizen Action is based in Milwaukee, discussing the Bucks potential trade of Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Brewers talk of getting rid of ace pitcher Freddy Peralta — using “small market” as the excuse. Next we dive into healthcare. At the state level, we talk about a recent report showing Wisconsin teachers spending 20% of their salaries on healthcare. Federally, we hit on the US Senate voting down both the extension of ACA subsidies and a GOP plan that would have let people buy into high-deductible bronze or catastrophic plans and receive a direct deposit of up to $1,000 into a Health Savings Account to cover out-of-pocket costs. In the second half of the show, we deep dive on data centers in Wisconsin and how the state should handle their massive energy consumption with more solar power. We also talk about how there’s literally rules against residents creating solar farms and no incentive for power companies to create more solar because it’s not profitable. Lastly, we talk about Wisconsin’s gerrymandered US House maps, as two lawsuits go through the courts that could upend the current lines.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

We then try to Tickle Leroy's Fancy ahead of the NFL football weekend slate. What do FDR and the current alleged president have in common? What gubernatorial candidate promised voters to make their "wet dreams" come true? It all comes to light in my interview with writer/comedienne/farmer/TN State House candidate Ali Simpson (44:28) on why she's running for office for the first time, what that process is like & what are the main concerns of her & her neighbors in western Tennessee.First: The Mets losing 2 of their best & most-beloved players in a 24-hour period; Barry Bonds & Roger Clemens missing out again on the HOF is the best kind of good news; MLB scribes should stop carrying water for management, esp. with a work stoppage nearing; and why the Giannis news is awful no matter what team you root for or what kind of fan you are
In this roundtable episode, Ben DuBose, Paulo Alves, and Dave Hardisty (Editor of ClutchFans) preview the NBA's upcoming transaction window and its potential implications for the 16-6 Rockets.December 15 is when players who signed contracts in the preceding offseason become trade eligible, so the period from Monday until the February 5 in-season deadline is among the most active on the 2025-26 calendar. Discussion topics include roster needs and potential trade targets across the board, including the likelihood of bigger-name deals (such as Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jrue Holiday, and James Harden) and smaller acquisitions along the lines of Keon Ellis, Chris Paul, and Ayo Dosunmu. The show also explores Houston's potential desirability on the buyout market and the team's long-term timeline for title contention, and specifically why those factors might make this a relatively quiet trade window for the Rockets.
