Remember Shuffle finally turns to the biggest geopolitical catastrophe of the 2000s, the Iraq War. On this table-setting episode, tThe Shuffle Bois trace the long history of American collaboration with Saddam Hussein's regime, the souring of that productive relationship in the 1990s, and the obsessive fixation America developped for regime change in Iraq, both on the Neoconservative and Liberal Interventionist sides of the divide. They then look at some of the Themes and Big Ideas of American Middle Eastern foreign policy through the late 20th century. They then close out with a palate-cleanser film review of 1999's “Three Kings.”Give Remember Shuffle a follow on Twitter And on Instagram @RememberShufflePod to interact with the show between episodes. The first engagement against the Crown forces that involved soldiers from multiple provinces operating under a unified command. The first use of field artillery by the Provincial forces. The destruction of the HMS Diana, whose mainmast was to be used to hoist the "Grand Union Flag" atop Prospect Hill on January 1, 1776. Few engagements can boast so much, and yet the engagement that has become known locally as "The Battle of Chelsea Creek" has all of those stories and so much more. We talk with local author, journalist and historian Jeff Pearlman about the engagement on Noddle's and Hog Islands and the loss of the HMS Diana on the 27th of May 1775.Tell us what you think! In 1978, a young musician from the Midwest found his way to L.A., and was ushered into the studio to record his debut album with some of the best names in the business, including Stevie Nicks, Don Henley, Timothy B. Schmit, JD Souther, Jay Graydon, Larry Carlton, Steve Lukather, and Bill Champlin to create his self-titled debut album that became a must-have classic for West Coast music enthusiasts. Fast forward 46 years, and Dane Donohue is back with a brand new album titled “LA Rainbow”, which was produced by Page99's John Nixon. On this episode of Inside MusiCast, we'll discuss Dane's path to the creation of both of these albums, including some amazing stories from the debut album and how he and John Nixon found each other for the new album, “L.A. Rainbow”.

The key infrastructure behind advanced air mobility (AAM), vertiports, must not only efficiently recharge air taxis and similar vehicles that make use of them, but also provide passengers with quick, quality service and be environmentally friendly. There are many design factors to consider in achieving these goals, but digital transformation can help companies find solutions to them, nonetheless. In this episode, Todd Tuthill, Vice President of Aerospace and Defense for Siemens Digital Industries Software, and John Nixon, Vice President of Energy, Chemicals, and Infrastructure, conclude their conversation about AAM infrastructure. They discuss additional ways vertiports can be built for sustainability, as well as highlight the digital tools companies can use to make vertiports function at their peak performance. In this episode, you will learn: How companies can further increase vertiports' sustainability The benefits of modular construction for vertiports Why digital transformation is valuable for the AAM sector The role of the digital twin, artificial intelligence, IoT sensors, and other digital tools in vertiport development Connect with Todd Tuthill: LinkedIn Connect with John Nixon: LinkedIn Connect with Patty Russo: LinkedIn Resources: Siemens Aerospace & Defense website

In part 2 of my interviews with ex-official IRA & INLA member, John Nixon. In this episode we discussed some of the INLA's most prolific operations as well as some of the organizations most well known members including Seamus Costello and Dessie O' Hare. (Part 1 - https://youtu.be/9YOpiW1jU6c?si=81DqiPlwIAz4HOHQ)I asked John about second prison term in Long Kesh where he took part in the blanket protest and the no-wash protest in an attempt to win back POW status. John breaks down the escalating steps that led up to the no-wash protest and how these brutal years have effected John's life forever. John tells us about the beatings and torture that prisoners were subjected to in Long Kesh and what atmosphere in the jail was like following one of the many assassinations of guards by republicans outside the prison walls. A lot of work needs to be done to build the infrastructure that can support advanced air mobility fleets. Ensuring there are enough vertiports in a city, as well as guaranteeing their reliability and maintainability, will be key to making AAM a convenient and profitable mode of transportation. What are some ways the developers behind AAM can achieve this? In this episode, Todd Tuthill, Vice President of Aerospace and Defense for Siemens Digital Industries Software, is joined again by John Nixon, Vice President of Energy, Chemicals, and Infrastructure, to continue their discussion on AAM infrastructure. They dive into different methods of powering vertiports, the ideal places to build vertiports, how the digital twin can optimize AAM serviceability, and more. In this episode, you will learn: Methods to improve vertiports' energy reliability and sustainability The potential for small modular reactors (SRMs) as a power source for vertiports Considerations into making vertiports convenient and serviceable How serviceability can impact AAM vehicle design The role of the digital twin in improving serviceability Connect with Todd Tuthill: LinkedIn Connect with John Nixon: LinkedIn Connect with Patty Russo: LinkedIn Resources: Siemens Aerospace & Defense website
Advanced air mobility is a new classification of aircraft that offers new ways to transport cargo and passengers across short distances in forms such as air taxis. However, most air taxis are projected to be bigger than most cars and cannot just land on streets or lawns. AAM will require its own infrastructure to provide places to land, recharge, and take off from. These places will be known as vertiports, but what exactly will they look like? In this episode, Todd Tuthill, Vice President of A&D for Siemens Digital Industries Software, is joined by John Nixon, Vice President of Energy, Chemicals, and Infrastructure for Siemens Digital Industries Software. Together, they discuss what vertiports are, their interactions with the energy grid, and how sustainability plays a factor. In this episode, you will learn: How vertiports can support AAM fleets How much impact on the electric grid vertiports would have Why the method of powering vertiports matters to sustainability AAM's impact on noise pollution Connect with Todd Tuthill: LinkedIn Connect with John Nixon: LinkedIn Connect with Patty Russo: LinkedIn Resources: Siemens Aerospace & Defense website

The first time the patriots use artillery, the first time they sink a British ship, and the first time officers and men from different colonies stage a joint operation--the battle of Chelsea Creek, in what today are the cities of Chelsea and Revere, and the East Boston neighborhood, along an industrial waterway that still retains much of its 18th-century contour. We hear from archaeologists Craig Brown, a PhD candidate at the University of Ediburgh, and Victor Mastone, President of the Massachusetts Archaeology Society on this important, but little known May 1775 battle, and their work to map the site.

How does being a teacher affect your art practice? How can an artist successfully engage with an institution’s collection? How do we create our own opportunities and categories? What does it mean to trust your gut? For this final episode of the second series, Tai Snaith and Meredith Turnbull discuss a broad range of topics around what it means to have a multifaceted, self-driven and supported practice. They share their love and importance of championing OTHER artists — what it means to not be a curator but to keep curatorial skills as part of your practice. Once again the notions of collapsing the boundaries between traditional notions of craft, ornament and art are highlighted and celebrated. Meredith praises the approachability of jewellery and the way it acts as a continuation of dialogue around ideas of genre, discipline and material values. Together they question what ‘achieving’ and ‘professionalism’ really mean. Finally, the importance of looking back, taking stock of our practices; recognising what we have overcome and achieved and really asking which direction we want to take next.
