Outlouders, enjoy this free bite of Mia Freedman, Holly Wainwright & Amelia Lester. Catch the full chaos at 5 pm TODAY. Not a subscriber yet? Honestly, why wait? Holly loved Wuthering Heights. Amelia hated it. Mia was meh - probably the most batshit of all reactions about the most talked-about movie of the year. So today we get into it. Mia Freedman asks Amelia why she thinks Margot Robbie was so miscast as Cathy, why she wished Jacob Elordi came with subtitles and why she’d like two hours of her life back, please. And Mia wants Holly to explain why there was a barking woman on a leash, and whether the finger-sniffing scene was, actually, in Emily Bronte’s classic novel. It’s a no-holds-barred dissection of the choices made by Emerald Fennell and of course, why Mia walked out of the premiere. Remember, this is your free sample of today's subs episode. President John F. Kennedy saw his mistress Mary Pinchot Meyer as an equal during their lives. But there was one thing neither realized they'd have in common: their suspicious deaths. Police said Mary was murdered in a robbery gone awry. But some believe her death was an orchestrated hit: a move in the War on Drugs, or a way to hide her evidence that the CIA killed JFK. In our first podcast of 2026, we're reflecting on 10 years of podcasting, the chaos of coming out of the holidays, and how routines change as you get older. We dive deep into No Other Choice, the Korean film generating major Oscar buzz — why going in blind made the experience better, how modern movie marketing overshares everything, and why word of mouth matters more than trailers in 2026.From there, the conversation expands into the death of the traditional movie star, the rise of directors as the real draw, how social media has reshaped fame, and why today's actors are promoted very differently than stars of the past.We also touch on AI, automation, job anxiety, Stranger Things, and throw out some bold (and questionable) predictions for the year ahead. This episode is a mix of film, culture, tech, and real-life reflection — exactly how we're starting 2026.

He's currently on screens as "Jay Kelly", an ageing movie star on an existential quest in Europe. And it's not too far from George Clooney's own reality, as the actor tells journalists how he's enjoying his new life in the south of France. We also look back at the impressive legacy left by "starchitect" Frank Gehry, after the death of the visionary architect behind landmarks like the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao and the Louis Vuitton Foundation in Paris. The world of photography has also lost a major talent in Martin Parr; we take a look back at his distinctive style and unique body of work.
Get access to this entire episode, the entire Denzember catalog, and all of our premium episodes by becoming a Hit Factory Patron for just $5/month.Denzember 2 continues with the return of Vulture Film Critic Bilge Ebiri and a spirited discussion of Russel Mulcahy's 1991 thriller Ricochet, a film of lean premise that takes its story to absolutely batshit places at every turn. With the ever-capable journeyman director Mulcahy at the helm, a sturdy script from Die Hard writer Steven E. de Souza, and committed performances from Denzel Washington and John Lithgow, the film finds a way to make every one of its scenes memorable by maintaining its ludicrous energy from start to finish and finding lurid thrills behind every corner. We begin with an appraisal of our experiences with Ricochet, and the delight of finding a film marketed as a boilerplate thriller doing everything it can to shock and disarm you. Then, we examine the deceptively intelligent plotting of the film, pitting Denzel's Assistant DA Nick Styles - an ambitious Black lawyer seeking opportunity in the justice system- against not just Lithgow's psycopathic murderer on a quest for revenge but also the collective biases of the media and elite centers of institutional power that readily see Styles as an interloper in their predominantly white spaces. Finally, we discuss the rare position of Denzel as a movie star, how he stands singularly as both an actor of profound versatility and one that inhabits an intoxicating Movie Star persona.Follow Bilge Ebiri on Twitter....Our Denzember theme some is "Funk" by Oppo.

When you get two legends in a room, you know it's about to be magic. That's exactly what happened when Majic 102.1's own Madd Hatta chopped it up with the hilarious Finesse Mitchell. The comedian and actor, always keeping it real, dropped gems about his journey from a civil engineering student to a stand-up king. Finesse recalled how he stumbled into comedy on a dare at a club in South Florida. One impromptu joke about a hurricane drill turned into a paid tab and launched a 27-year career that took him from BET's Comic View to the iconic stage of Saturday Night Live. Throughout the lively chat, Mitchell gave props to his mentors like Mike Epps and JB Smoove and even shared a hilarious story about realizing he lived in "The Jungle" in L.A. after seeing his neighborhood in the movie Training Day. Always evolving, Finesse spoke on the industry's shift to social media, giving a shout-out to his mentee-turned-superstar Matt Rife. He's learned to pivot with the times, but his core mission remains the same: make people laugh. If you're ready for a good time, you can catch Finesse Mitchell live this weekend at The Sam Houston Race Park Pavilion Center. Expect an all-inclusive show where he's roasting everything from politics to the folks in the front row. It's the perfect night out, so grab your tickets and get ready to laugh until it hurts.

On July 26, 2016, then 27-year-old Tucker Reed shot and killed her uncle Shane Moore during a family dispute over land allocation and money. Moore was responsible for caring for his father, and was promised the land and house, but his sister, Tucker's mother, took issue with this, as she had debts, and was using the family for money. This hatred and jealousy of her brother clearly made its way to Tucker, who fatally shot him after the two went over to sabotage Moore's appointment with a Notary Public.
