About Dean Parata:I'm an Australian who has moved abroad originally to play professional rugby. I became involved in property in lockdown as it was something I always had a passion for. I began desk sourcing with a mutual friend and found myself gravitating towards HMO's. We done quite well and sold over 20 deals and project managed all the refurbs. A year later I set up Parata Property and have been steadily growing ever since. This hasn't been without it's challenges! About your host, Tej:Tej graduated from King's' College London with a BSc Biochemistry in 2014, he then pursued a career in Medical Education and Marketing. Soon after his second job… he was fired! A moment of relief and freedom was what he felt, not sure what his mother felt when he told her he was jobless at 23…He then went in search of a more ethical path, a business he could set up where the reward was equal to the work put in. “If they are making pounds, why am I making pennies?” - was his thought process, not happy with slow progression and bureaucracy (& having to wear smart shoes everyday). This lead him to opening a Recruitment business (not sure where the ethics went) which doubled in profit every year, for 4 years. He hated it. Golden handcuffs they call it.Fortunately, he used the cash he'd built up from that business, to educate himself in Property Investing. Soon, he'd stopped the business and transitioned into Property Investment full time. He then had a slow start -Purchasing 15 properties in his first 9 months, using over £650,000 of Investor Finance, he built a £1,200,000 property portfolio and created £30,000 of profit from flips. This gave him ‘financial freedom', but it was the most stressful period of his life. Growing quickly is very painful.Let's not forget that his Podcast grew to be the most-reviewed UK Property Podcast, peaking at 4,000 unique downloads per episode. His Podcast (Tej Talks) now sits at 660,000 downloads in over 100 countries and has 489 reviews, rated 5/5.Links:Instagram - @paratapropertyFacebook - @paratapropertyLinkedIn - Dean Parata Tej InvestsTej TalkseLearning Our GDPR privacy policy was updated on August 8, 2022. In episode #127 I chat with fellow Mental Toughness Licensee, Paul Trainor.  Paul is a former professional rugby league player, currently a director for Super League team, Salford Red Devils Rugby League Club and a director for Positive Synergy. We go on to discuss Mental Toughness in professional rugby league, how Mental Toughness applies to his current role as a director. We also touch on his consultancy work.  If you're looking to learn more about Mental Toughness, the 4 C's model and its application, this is a great podcast episode to listen too. Key Learning Points: The definition of mental toughness has changed over the years in Rugby where it was more about bravado, not being seen to be injured, seeing how many knocks you could get through to now where it is viewed as the ability to respond well to challenges that we face in the game, to be fully prepared for the challenges, to have trust in the process and to be able to take risks. When injured it's very important as a player to be honest with yourself and others around you. Salford Red Devils reached the Super League Grand Final in 2019 and pride ourselves on the way as a club, both on and off the field that we approach what we do. We have a very strong culture of maximising everything you've got whether it be players on the field or the resources we've got off the field. I lead on building future strategy, which looks at developing the next generation of Salford Red Devils players and leaving a legacy in different areas of work. We go into schools and community clubs and are not only concerned about rugby, but we're also doing work around mental toughness, raising achievement and positive mental health. Mental toughness is a crucial life skill that we help develop in youngsters. Everyone plays a key role in creating culture and the key behaviours that are expected from people.      Connect with Paul Trainor Twitter LinkedIn  Connect with David Charlton Download THE FOCUSED ATHLETE CHECKLIST Join David @ The Sports Psychology Hub Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn To Listen to Rugby Orientated Podcast Episodes Ep21: Steve Hackney – How to Reach Your Full Potential Ep29: Lome Faatau – How to Play Professional Rugby with Confidence  Ep038: Taz Bricknell - Playing Professional Women's Rugby Ep039: John Fletcher – How to Develop Fearless Athletes Ep104: Seb De Chaves - The Psychological Demands of Elite Professional Rugby Helpful Rugby Orientated Resources Blog - How To Play Well When You Aren't Feeling Great Case Study – Supporting a Professional Rugby Player Rehabilitating from Injury Blog - 3 Tips for Playing with Confidence Under Pressure Blog – 5 Ways to Create a Psychological Safe Sporting Environment Rugby Psychology | Mental Skills for Rugby Resources

Predominantly a full back, Mike has won three 6 Nations titles with England and two English Premiership titles with Harlequins. He won the 2014 RBS Six Nations player of the championship award...and is renowned for his work ethic, tenacity and ability to attack with ball in hand. Today I'm joined by a South African professional rugby player, Sebastian De Chaves, who is currently plying his trade in the USA with Austin Gilgronis and has represented a number of Premiership Rugby clubs.  We discuss mental toughness in elite professional rugby, the use of sport psychology, typical challenges that rugby players and coaches face and common psychological demands of the sport. Key Learning Points: Mental toughness is being able on an individual level, to get your job done and perform to the best of your ability when things aren't going well. Mentally tough players execute under massive amounts of pressure. Focusing on what you can control is essential. Don't let your emotions in the game take over. Always look to learn from top performers. Maintaining a balance off the pitch is important for optimal performance and well-being. Would you forgive a criminal? Today's guest is a man who undertook the task of visiting prisoners and getting to know them and their histories. Years have passed since William Fraser started his foundation to help people, especially those who remain in jail for misdemeanors. William believes that with support, coaching, and making a change in the employment crisis that his country is going through, it is possible to prevent these people from falling back into the same paths. In this episode, we bring this fascinating topic to the table. Do you think we can prevent criminals from going back to prison? ABOUT WILLIAM FRASER Will is an ex-professional rugby player for Saracens RFC. Will joined the Saracens Academy in 2005 aged just 14 and was a member of the famed 'Class of 08,' alongside the likes of Owen Farrell & Jamie George. After a ten-year playing career, unfortunately, he was forced to retire from playing in 2017 as a result of a neck injury. In 2020, Will took his first entrepreneurial step in launching 100 & First. This foundation was born from the realization of the power of incredible real-life experiences and how (if told in the right way) the learnings from them apply to any person or environment. The only difference is the context in which they are applied. In this episode of the Road to Growth podcast, we are pleased to introduce you to Lucas Caneda. Lucas played in Aix en Provence at the Pro D2 level from 2015 – 2017, then in Angouleme (SAXV) from 2017-2019. After a short stint in Mazamet, he decided to joint Sarlat Rugby, a club with a long history (founded in 1903) where he plays as Team Captain and winger today. It was in Sarlat where Lucas met Dom Einhorn, the Founder and CEO of the UNIQORN incubator-accelerator and president of the Sarlat Rugby Team. He immediately integrated the incubator's Rugby+ program where he now works as a team leader for both the incubator as well as for one of its startups, FORMATION.GG, an up-and-coming platform dedicated to eSports. A student of engineering, management and economics, self-taught in nutrition and fitness, Lucas has always had a very keen interest in business and entrepreneurship. Born in 1990 and hailing from Argentina, Lucas Martin Caneda grew up as a die-hard rugby starting at the tender age of 5. Lucas played center and #9 (scrum-half) till the age of 19 before he moved up to the senior team where he started to play wing. It all began at Club de Rugby Pueyrredón, Lucas' home club. In 2013, Lucas joins the Buenos Aires 7s and wins the Argentinian championship with his team. In 2014, he suffered what many though would be a career- ending knee injury. Few players before him have returned to the pitch post-surgery. Yet, not only did he return to grandiose form, he was selected in the Buenos Aires XV squad in 2015 and won the Argentinian championship with his team. It was in same year of 2015 that Lucas moved to France, with the intent to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a professional rugby player. This was a significant accomplishment for an athlete who was told - at an early age - that he had no shot at pro rugby due to his height (1m75; 5'7).   Learn more and connect with Lucas Caneda by visiting him on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/lucas-caneda-9a8195141/   Be sure to follow us on Twitter: Twitter.com/to_growth on Facebook: facebook.com/Road2Growth   Subscribe to our podcast across the web: https://www.theenriquezgroup.com/blog Spotify: https://spoti.fi/2Cdmacc iTunes: https://apple.co/2F4zAcn Castbox: http://bit.ly/2F4NfQq Google Play: http://bit.ly/2TxUYQ2 Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKnzMRkl-PurAb32mCLCMeA?view_as=subscriber   If you are looking to be a Guest on Podcasts please click below  https://kitcaster.com/rtg/
