Mallory McMorrow is a Michigan State Senator who in 2018 flipped a district that had previously voted Republican by 16 points, then helped Democrats take control of the Michigan Senate for the first time in 40 years. She's stood up to extremists to repeal Michigan's abortion ban, expand voting rights, and pass sweeping gun safety laws, and refuses corporate PAC or AIPAC money. She was thrust into the national spotlight in April 2022 over her incredible viral speech on the Michigan Senate floor in response to being accused of being a “groomer” by a Republican Senator. Last year she released her first book, a follow up to that speech, Hate Won't Win. Mallory is back with us to discuss her U.S. Senate campaign, the economy and affordabilty, Israel and Gaza, Artificial Intelligence, the midterms and the threats to this critical election. Alex Vindman and his family left the Soviet Union as refugees when he was three years old. He is a retired 21-year U.S. Army combat veteran who also served as a national security expert working for presidents of both parties. He was wounded in Iraq and awarded a Purple Heart. His military service took him from the battlefield to the Pentagon and the White House, where he served as a Director on the National Security Council staff. During his time on the National Security Council, he witnessed a corrupt and illegal abuse of power by a president intent on undermining an election. As was his duty under the Constitution, he reported the wrongdoing. His decision to blow the whistle led to the 2019 impeachment of President Donald Trump, whose retribution ultimately cost him his military career. After he left the military, Alex dedicated himself to public service outside of uniform, helping veterans run for office so they can serve as a check on corruption and abuse of power. He's also the author of the Why It Matters Substack and the New York Times bestselling books Here, Right Matters and The Folly of Realism. And he is now running for the U.S. Senate in Florida. Alex and I discuss Trump's illegal Iran War, the overall incompetence of the administration, and his very exciting, very promising U.S. Senate campaign in Florida. Got somethin' to say?! Send us a textBob Dole: The Life That Brought Him There – Part 5 Getting Into Politics (B): The Senate CampaignIn Part 5, the journey continues as Bob Dole takes his biggest political leap yet — a run for the United States Senate. This episode explores the ambition, strategy, and sheer determination behind a campaign that would elevate him from the House to one of the most powerful chambers in American government. We begin with the political terrain of Kansas — a state where retail politics, personal reputation, and regional loyalties mattered just as much as party labels. Dole's campaign had to balance conservative grassroots energy with the broader appeal needed to win statewide, and listeners will hear how he built that coalition county by county. From there, we follow his transition from candidate to senator: assembling a staff, opening his first Senate office, and stepping into the traditions, hierarchy, and slower pace of the United States Senate. After the fast-moving world of the House, the Senate demanded patience, relationship-building, and a long view of power. This episode also captures a pivotal moment in Dole's rise on the national stage — his introduction to Richard Nixon. Their first encounters offered a glimpse into the Republican Party's emerging leadership and gave Dole an early look at presidential-level politics from the inside.Part 5 is about arrival and adjustment — the shift from ambitious congressman to freshman senator, learning a new institution, building influence, and stepping closer to the center of national power. The apprenticeship continues, but the stage just got much bigger. After Googling “how to run for office” in the wake of the 2016 election, Mallory McMorrow took on an incumbent Republican State Senator and won, moving the seat 20 percentage points. When a right-wing state senator baselessly called her a “groomer”, she took to the floor in a now viral speech and declared "we will not let hate win.” NY Magazine called the speech “remarkable.” James Carville said it was “enormously effective.” The Atlantic wrote that it was “stunning.” After her viral speech, Mallory helped flip control of the Michigan Senate for the first time in 40 years, becoming the first woman Senate Majority Whip in state history. She has worked to strengthen unions and raise wages, eliminate the retirement tax on seniors, expand civil rights, repeal the state's 1931 abortion ban, tackle gun violence, expand affordable housing, and feed kids in schools. She recently released her first book, HATE WON'T WIN Mallory is a major Democratic rising star, and she's in THE BACK ROOM sharing insights into her new book, her campaign for Michigan's open U.S. Senate seat, and how Americans can take action to fight tyranny, hatred, bigotry and achieve real change in Washington. The Trump administration is dismantling DEI within the federal workforce and ESG is slowly morphing into one of the most irritating terms in corporate governance. Senate candidate Kari Lake joins the show.
Democratic U.S. Senate hopeful Lucas Kunce is facing the challenging task of upending Republican Sen. Josh Hawley in a state that's become GOP-dominated. Kunce is making a strong bid. He's been raising money at a feverish clip since entering the U.S. Senate race in 2023, and Hawley is taking Kunce's effort to oust him seriously, as seen with a flurry of negative television ads and confrontations.
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), author of Unwoke: How to Defeat Cultural Marxism, joined the show to discuss his heated Senate race in Texas, where Democrat megadonors plan to pour over $100 million into defeating him this November. Cruz discussed why his opponent, Colin Allred, is a Nancy Pelosi ally who's image as a moderate is a façade. Cruz highlighted the critical importance of his victory to maintain Republican control of the Senate. Benson and Cruz also touched on the grotesque attack by Colin Allred on the mother of a deceased daughter, who was killed by an illegal immigrant due to Biden's failed border policies. Cruz emphasized the importance of every large and small donation in order to defeat the radical left in his Senate race, and you can listen to the full interview below! The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 3: 5:05pm- On Wednesday night, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump held a campaign rally in Harrisburg, PA—his first trip to Pennsylvania since he was nearly assassinated at an event in Butler, PA on July 13th. During the rally, Trump emphasized presumptive Democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris' far-left policy preferences, including: a ban on fracking, abolishing ICE, and ending private health insurance. Trump also spent time discussing Harris' failed attempt to secure the U.S. Southern border. Trump promised the crowd “We're not going to let her do to Pennsylvania what she did to California. She destroyed San Francisco."—even calling out Soros-funded District Attorneys and explicitly mentioning Philadelphia. 5:25pm- Flashback: In 2016, KCAL 9—a CBS News affiliate in Los Angeles, CA—reported that Kamala Harris was accused of treating her Senate “campaign funds like a personal checking account to fund a life of luxury.” When questioned about the accusations, Harris seemingly conceded that money was misappropriated but blamed it on her campaign manager. 5:35pm- Dr. Victoria Coates—Former Deputy National Security Advisor & the Vice President of the Davis Institute for National Security and Foreign Policy at The Heritage Foundation—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss the Biden Administration's prisoner swap agreement with Russia. While it's wonderful that Gershkovich has been released, why does Pennsylvania school teacher Marc Fogel remain wrongfully imprisoned in Russia? Dr. Coates fears that because Russia got the better end of this trade deal, it could encourage Vladimir Putin to imprison more Americans. Plus, why isn't the American media paying closer attention to authoritarian Nicolas Maduro's seizure of power in Venezuela? Coates suspects the media is protecting the Biden-Harris Administration for having eased sanctions on Venezuela in exchange for Maduro's empty promise of free and fair elections—which clearly didn't happen. Her upcoming book is: “Winning the War on Israel: Inside the Battle for the Jewish State and America.”

The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 1: 3:05pm- Rebecca Picciotto of CNBC writes: “President Joe Biden on Saturday signed Congress' $1.2 trillion spending package, finalizing the remaining batch of bills in a long-awaited budget to keep the government funded until Oct. 1. Almost halfway into the fiscal year, the president's signature ends a months-long saga of Congress struggling to secure a permanent budget resolution and instead passing stopgap measures, nearly averting government shutdowns.” You can read the full article here: https://www.cnbc.com/2024/03/23/biden-signs-1point2-trillion-spending-package.html 3:25pm- In response to the House of Representatives passing a $1.2 trillion spending package on Friday, Congressman Scott Perry (R-PA) publicly objected to money going towards “processing” migrants entering the country unlawfully instead of prioritizing security at the U.S. Southern border which would prevent their entry in the first place. 3:30pm- On Sunday, New Jersey First Lady Tammy Murphy announced that she was suspending her campaign for U.S. Senate. In a video posted to social media Murphy explained her decision: “I have been genuine and factual throughout—but it is clear to me that continuing in this race will involve waging a very divisive and negative campaign, which I am not willing to do.” You can read more here: https://www.politico.com/news/2024/03/24/nj-first-lady-tammy-murphy-to-end-senate-campaign-to-replace-bob-menendez-00148728 3:45pm- Ben Protess and William K. Rashbaum of The New York Times write: “With Donald J. Trump on the clock to secure a nearly half-billion-dollar bond in his civil fraud case, a New York appeals court handed the former president a lifeline on Monday, saying it would accept a far smaller bond of $175 million. The ruling by a panel of five appellate court judges was a crucial and unexpected victory for Mr. Trump, potentially staving off a looming financial disaster. Had the court denied his request for a smaller bond in the fraud case, which was brought by the New York attorney general, Mr. Trump risked losing control over his bank accounts and even some of his marquee properties.” While speaking to the press outside of the courthouse, Trump said he plans to pay the newly reduced bond in cash.
