They meet up with Gus in his shop and learn of the attackers' plan to breach the gate and loot all the food. Matt thinks up a different plan. Instead of simply creating a flanking distraction, he thinks they can even up the numbers by their wounding a sizable enough portion of the attacking force. Macgregor was commissioned in the Regular Army in 1976 after 1 year at VMI and 4 years at West Point. In 2004, Macgregor retired with the rank of Colonel. In 2020, the President appointed Macgregor to serve as Senior Advisor to the Secretary of Defense, a post he held until President Trump left office. He holds an MA in comparative politics and a PhD in international relations from the University of Virginia. Macgregor is widely known inside the U.S., Europe, Israel, Russia, China and Korea for both his leadership in the Battle of 73 Easting, the U.S. Army's largest tank battle since World War II, and for his ground breaking books on military transformation: Breaking the Phalanx (Praeger, 1997) and Transformation under Fire (Praeger, 2003). Macgregor's recommendations for change in Force Design and “integrated all arms-all effects” operations have profoundly influenced force development in Israel, Russia and China. In 2010, Macgregor traveled to Seoul, Korea to advise the ROK Ministry of Defense on force design. In 2019, Transformation under Fire was selected by Lt. Gen. Aviv Kohavi, Chief of the Israeli Defense Force (IDF), as the intellectual basis for IDF transformation. His fifth book, Margin of Victory: Five Battles that Changed the Face of Modern War from Naval Institute Press is available in Chinese, as well as, English and will soon appear in Hebrew. In 28 years of service Macgregor taught in the Department of Social Sciences at West Point, commanded the 1st Squadron, 4th Cavalry, and served as the Director of the Joint Operations Center at SHAPE during the 1999 Kosovo Air Campaign for which he was awarded the Defense Superior Service medal. In January 2002, at Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld's insistence the USCENTCOM Commander listened to Colonel Macgregor's concept for the offensive to seize Baghdad. The plan was largely adopted, but assumed no occupation of Iraq by U.S. Forces. Macgregor has also testified as an expert witness before the Senate and House Armed Services Committees and appeared as a defense analyst on Fox News, CNN, BBC, Sky News and public radio. He is fluent in German.

What is the difference between a challenge and an excuse in business? On Episode 252 of Talkin' Shop with ShopSabre, hosts Brandon Bombardo and Nick Peters explain why challenges require a response while excuses only require justification — and why that distinction determines whether a manufacturing business grows or stalls. Brandon outlines the concept of business momentum and why it functions like a machine: once it's running, it stays efficient, but once it stops, restarting requires significantly more energy. He argues that momentum in business is built through daily decisions, consistent effort, and stacking small wins — not through one lucky break or a single large deal. ShopSabre CNC, an American manufacturer based in Lakeville, Minnesota, works with shop owners across the country who face this exact challenge, and the ones who succeed are the ones who stay action-focused through the slow periods. The episode addresses what Brandon calls "reasonable excuses" — statements like "the economy is just slow right now" or "we're short-staffed" that sound logical but don't eliminate the responsibility to act. While one shop waits for perfect conditions, another shop adapts its pricing, improves its processes, invests in new CNC equipment, and captures the work that's still out there. Brandon also introduces the idea of "your economy" — the reality that no two businesses experience the same economic conditions, even within the same industry. Leadership during slow periods is a central theme. Brandon explains that teams mirror the energy of their leaders: if leadership responds with frustration and blame, the team mirrors that. If leadership responds with focus and direction, the team follows. He draws a direct comparison between coaching youth hockey — where momentum shifts can be felt on the ice — and running a manufacturing operation where momentum shifts happen on the shop floor. Why does your spiritual life feel stuck right now? You know you are supposed to love God with everything you've got, but it feels more like an obligation than a fire. You sing the songs. You show up. And still, something feels distant.In this sermon, Dr. Mark Harris opens our brand new series Counterfeit Kings by walking us through the only person in the entire Bible of whom it is said that he loved the Lord with all his heart and all his soul and all his very. The Hebrew Shema in Deuteronomy 6:4 to 5 is the most famous text in all of Jewish life, repeated every morning, every night, taught to children before anything else. Jesus said this command is the foundation of every other one. And yet only one person in the whole biblical narrative is named as having fully obeyed it.That person is King Josiah, and the wild part is that Josiah came from one of the most disastrous family lines in Scripture (2 Kings 22 and 23, 2 Chronicles 34 and 35). His grandfather Manasseh was the most wicked king in Judah's history. His father Ammon followed the same path and was assassinated in the palace when Josiah was eight years old. The Bible had been hidden or destroyed. Idol worship, child sacrifice, and every false god imaginable were woven into daily life. And yet at 16, this kid made a decision in his heart to seek God. By 20 he was destroying altars Solomon himself had built 300 years earlier. And a few years later, he found the lost Book of the Law inside the temple and tore his clothes when he realized how far his people had drifted.Dr. Mark Harris pulls four characteristics out of Josiah's story for anyone wanting to love God for real and not for show. Let's get started.Lesley Logan 0:48  Hello, welcome to Fuck Yeah Friday. Oh yeah, we're here, and we are having some fun. We are making some changes to the podcast, and I love it. And this one is that we get to have a moment, because the world's on fucking fire, but then we have to celebrate a win, just like our members have to do in Agency and eLevate. Agency is our Pilates business coaching for Pilates instructors and studio owners, and eLevate is my mentorship program and in both of those communities people can have a moment, but they have to immediately go to the Wins Channel and celebrate a win, because you don't get to vomit and then come back the next day and have a win. No, it isn't about toxic positivity, like someone died, but at least you got to work on time. It's not bad, but it's also just acknowledging that there's also something good happening. Lesley Logan 1:28  Sometimes the moment you want to need is like, "Uh, today I was fighting with my laptop and I did everything right. I'm like, let me check the Wi-Fi. Okay, that's on. Let me quit Dropbox. Okay, that's fine. Let me do this. Okay." And then it's like, "Okay, I'm just going to restart the computer." And then it worked. It's just like remember when you're a kid and the VCR wouldn't work, and you'd hit it three times, and it would? I just hate that the turning on and off is probably going to fix most things, because don't you think it should be more complicated than that? Don't we think? Anyways. All right. This is the world we're in. This is what we deal with, and sometimes the answer is just to hit restart. Lesley Logan 2:09  Now that we've hit restart, my win for the day is a couple months ago I did a recording for a podcast, and it's been out for a bit. Now that you're hearing this, it's Beyond the Reformer, and my win is I love the questions that the person asked. I know that's their work, but I really love the questions they're asking, because I did my morning routine, and because I took care of myself, I was able to be so present and answer them honestly and authentically. Those posts that she's pulled from that podcast are still going around today, over a month later, and people are loving them. They're giving people permission, and it's just so fun that I can do something like that, and then those words can live for years, so that people who need to hear them today versus a month ago versus next year can hear them, and it can hopefully change their Pilates career. So, if you want to take a listen, it's on Beyond the Reformer, and I dropped some truth bombs, just some good authentic stuff. I'm not gonna lie, I also had a vulnerability hangover afterwards, because I was like, "I fucking nailed that," and then I was like, "Did I say too much? What are people gonna think?" Lesley Logan 3:11  So, anyways, it was a great time, and I love how the more you're yourself, the more you can really make an impact. Yeah, you're gonna feel like, "Oh my god, was that the right thing to do?" but then it gets out there, and you're like, "Oh, it was the right thing to do," and then everyone loves it. Then there's one person who's an idiot, and you're like, "Okay, but you're the only one. You seem a little weird." So that's my win. You get to move your body, you get to go, "I did two classes in two days." Way to feel so good about yourself! I believe in going to bed early, and then sometimes you just freaking can't. I'm happy to help, and then if you don't help me in return later on, I'm happy to go." Okay, well, it's not that I'm not a helpful person, but maybe someone else.Lesley Logan 4:59  All right. Today we're going to talk about computer tune ups. And no, don't worry, I'm not any kind of techie and I'm not trying to make you one either. But there's lots of things you can do to keep yourself from having to hire techies, because you let your computer just get out of whack on you with simple things you could have done to keep it tuned up. This capital efficiency allows the company to focus spending on targeted upgrades and mine development rather than large-scale construction.The project also features a groundbreaking partnership with the Selkirk First Nation, which holds approximately 20% equity in the company. He concludes that even if a deal is signed, US credibility is destroyed and "we're not going to recover from this very quickly," with a recession already underway that could turn into a decade-long depression if bombing resumes. The CEO also provides updates on mill rehabilitation, a new crushing circuit expected on site by October, and the sequencing of test mining activities, with first ore blasting imminent and mill processing targeted to begin in December, with first gold pour anticipated in early 2027.
