On this week's edition of the Flavors of Northwest Arkansas podcast, we're at Butterscotch in the Bentonville Square- you know the place- part bakery, part bar. We get into that, but first! FOOD NEWS! Applications are open for the Arkansas Food Hall of Fame... The original location of Slim Chickens is closed until summer, we think. We took video yesterday and, well, the original building is gone. Cobblestone Farms in Fayetteville is now reserving 2025 Spring/Summer CSA shares.... The 2nd annual NWA's shortest St. Patrick's Day parade has been announced. We have the particulars. Fayetteville's Spoon Fusion Korea Oh-K Dog on Dickson Street will temporarily close starting today and will re-open the 24th, according to their social media post. (*) Some sad news to report. Popular Fayetteville Food Truck Swag Banh Mi announced yesterday that they'll be closing down in 3 months. We'll hear why from a co-owner. Sam Gibson is the Director of Operations and Bar Manager of Butterscotch Bakery and Bar in the Bentonville Square. He's been there since he helped concept it with longtime friends and owners Sam and Larissa KcKenzie. He'll tell us why it's a bakery and bar, of course, a unique pairing.. Also, how did they wrangle prime real estate on the Bentonville square?!?! We'll hear that story as well. We'll talk about the bakery and what Sam wants to see on store shelves nation-wide from there, and he makes us some EXCEPTIONAL Butterscotch Old Fashions, I can say that it's the best Old Fashion that I've ever had... Sidenote- a bit of explicit language in this one, so plan accordingly. Thanks for listening- listen wherever you get your podcasts, and watch now on YouTube!

What if learning something new wasn't about talent or luck, but about pushing past the frustration that makes most people quit? In this episode, I sit down with Sam Gibson, a rope flow coach and entrepreneur, to break down what it takes to learn a new skill. Sam shares his journey with rope flow, the challenges he faced early on, and why so many people give up before reaching their first breakthrough. We dive into learning mechanics, exploring how starting simple, building confidence, and focusing on progress over perfection can make a huge difference. Sam explains why rope flow isn't just about fitness but also about improving coordination, rewiring neural pathways, and even helping people with conditions like Parkinson's. We also explore how rope flow fits into any routine, whether as a warm-up, a workout, or a mindfulness practice. Sam shares practical advice for beginners, including the best movements to start with and how to stay motivated through the learning curve. Key Takeaways: Consistency is key—just a few minutes a day can lead to noticeable improvements. A simple rope or resistance band can be used to start practicing before investing in a specialized flow rope. Online resources, courses, and community groups provide support and structured learning for those new to rope flow. Resources: Sam Gibson is a rope flow coach and entrepreneur dedicated to helping people improve coordination, mobility, and mental focus through movement. As the founder of Flow Ropes UK, he teaches beginners and athletes how to incorporate rope flow into their daily routines for better physical and cognitive performance. In his new book, Sam the Trap Man, Gibson shares stories of exploring the bush and hunting and surviving cold winter nights - and how life in the wilderness steered him out of trouble as a teenager. He says his journey began after he was required to spend more time with his godfather in the Te Urewera forest. This week, Pastor Sam Gibson continued our “Come & See” series with a sermon on Jesus's statement found in John 14:1-14, "I am the way, the truth, and the life.” Pastor Sam began by addressing the common feeling of being lost, which often manifested as a lack of purpose and direction. This state of confusion is an indication that it is time to recalibrate the internal state of one's soul back to who Christ says He is.

This Sunday, Pastor Sam continued our Fall sermon series, Compelling Missional Disciples, with a teaching on the importance of devotedly pursuing the knowledge of God, because having a proper view of God will determine everything else in our lives. The more we recalibrate our lives to the radical pursuit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God, the more of His splendor can be released on the earth through our lives. In this episode Jon Tyson, Sam Gibson and Chad Bohi share how they came to have a heart for Jesus, His church and his kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven. God brought each of these guys together with a unified cry to see another spiritual awakening in our time. We believe an integral part towards this great endeavor is building praying churches that raise the intercessory cry, "we want you here Lord Jesus!" For more info go to awakennetwork.com
This Sunday, Pastor Sam Gibson finished out our Rediscovering Church series with a teaching from 1 Thessalonians 5:12-28 on Jesus and His Church. As we look to and learn from the early church, we must be careful not to elevate them above the person of Jesus. The Church throughout time has always experienced difficult relational dynamics, because humans, in all of their brokenness, are involved. However, as the Bride of Christ, the Church is still called to operate in a different way. We must gather as the Body to exalt Jesus in the present, establish His Kingdom where we are, and look together toward our eternal future.
This Sunday, Pastor Sam continued our "We Want You Here" sermon series by encouraging us to spend time in the Bible and pray Scripture back to God to move us toward a confident assurance about His character. We are able to rest in God when we have clarity and confidence about who He is, which comes from studying the Bible with the help of the Holy Spirit.

In this episode, we will talk about the Kingdom dominion. This is made to be a brief highlight of some of the common topics we will be teaching in this podcast platform subsequently. I have with men in today's recording, my very good Friend Pst. Sam Gibson of the New Spring Church. He currently leads the Florence South Carolina campus of the New Spring Church. Kingdom Dominion is the full expression of the life of God in his saints. It is that Gospel that ushers the saints into the realm of incorruptibility. Our dominion is a call for the saints to take their place of Authority over all God has created. Genesis 1:26-28 The Expression of this life comes with our growth in the knowledge of Who God is and what jurisdiction he has given us. We aim to awaken the saint to the truth of the gospel of the kingdom into the fullness of our dominion in Christ Jesus. As heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, the saints need to submit to the will of God and walk with him. We cannot build the kingdom without a sincere walk with the Holy Spirit.
The Building of Kingdom Stars with sincere hearts for the things of the kingdom. This interview with Sam Gibson serves as a reminder to us about our place in Christ and it will also encourage us to build a strong spiritual foundation. We emphasized maintaining a good scriptural studying habit and spending qualitative time with God in prayers.
Our great friend and pastor Sam Gibson, joined us to share his experiences with addiction, how he became sober, and how he found freedom in Christ. Sam dives deep into the journey that the Lord took him through that ultimately shifted his desires to the Father. In this episode, we discuss how sobriety is not the same thing as freedom. And how we all battle the bondage of people, opinions, money, and the other things of this world. We hope you guys enjoy!
