She couldn't put it out. He didn't want to extinguish it. But the light grew and grew stronger and stronger until it was so strong that it could not be ignored or turned off. That light could have various names. Pick one or two that suit. You're worth more than this You don't need this in your life There is something better than this Their dance dirge doesn't have to be yours Self care is not selfishness Addiction, to anything, doesn't have to dominate With the right help, with millimetre steps, change can blossom and grow She walked out of the marriage. He sort out better friends. A distaste, even a revulsion, grew in her for the drink, the drugs, the lies, the sex. He left his job of convenience, safe and boringingly secure. She left the porn addiction knowing in-to-me-see (intimacy) needed risk if it was to be real. He lost his taste for boring mincemeat T.V. and wrote poetry until dawn. She took a pair of scissors to the credit card. He sold his ‘pride and joy' classic car and looked to the curves of his wife. It wasn't easy. It was hard, hard, hard. Today from February 20, 1975 Jean is going to talk about Train accidents he's seen and car accidents. I'll tell you what happened when I played this tape for my Dad many many moons ago. Now this show was originally broadcast on WOR AM on November 25, 1974 but I recorded it as an FM syndicated show in Feb. '75 with all commercials cut and sound quality much improved. The theme right now is Escape 817. 817 is based on the house Paul and his family grew up in Braceville Ohio. Listen to the many many stories that happened in this horror house his entire upbringing. A couple got a shock when they spotted a demonic face peering at them from a photo taken while exploring a haunted building in Nottinghamshire. A couple claim they caught what could be the ‘demonic’ face of a monk staring at them in the cellar of a former slaughterhouse – in the same spot he was burned alive 500 years ago. Tania Copeman, 41, was exploring the abandoned building dubbed ‘The Village in Mansfield, Notts, when the haunting happened.........It was 11.15 pm when I was driving home after a long days fishing at the lake there, I fished for most of the day and packed up when it was getting dusk, I was driving along the lane and as I passed Loscar Wood, standing there next to the gate was something I coudn’t make out at first, then I realised what I was seeing, It was a huge hair covered figure of some kind? It was just huge, he was standing on two legs, I could make out the light between them. It was upright and on seeing It I slammed on the brakes and went as quick as I could, I reversed backwards.........It was a tall man-like figure and “he” was sort of crouching forward in a strange position. As we passed “him” in the car “It” turned and looked straight at us. In my own words I would describe “It” as around six feet eight inches tall with legs thicker than two of mine, “It” was very strong looking and had a darkish, blacky [sic]-brown coat. Mrs. Windham’s newest book takes us back to rural Thomasville, Alabama, where the author lived. She gives a snapshot of her growing up years, and presents stories about family members and friends, and favorite pastimes. Spit, Scarey Ann, and Sweat Bees offers a picture of domestic life in small town Alabama in the 1920s and ’30s. Kathryn Tucker Windham was one of the first women daily newspaper reporters in Alabama. Today, she is one of America’s best-known storytellers, performing at storytelling and literary festivals nationally, and also a featured commentator on National Public Radio. She has written more than two dozen books, including Jeffrey’s Favorite 13 Ghost Stories (a compilation of her favorite Jeffrey stories) and her classic Alabama, One Big Front Porch. This ‘Bonus’ ArchiTreats presentation is in addition to the regular series of third-Thursday free lectures presented by the Alabama Department of Archives and History. This was supost to be a mix for Halloween but I'v been extremely busy. It has alot of tracks from Aphex Twin, and Delerium. After all the cheesey horror movies I've been watching lately, I started to pick up on my more gothic mood of atmosphere. You know the frightening feeling you get in a strange victorian house, or when you are in a dark place all alone...
