The First Quarter phase (first action point) of this LPFC on Jan. 17, 2024, at 27º31' Aries, and the Full Moon (awareness point) was on Oct. 17, 2024, at 24º35' Aries. July 17 (9:45 PM PDT) at 15º34' Leo, on the Sabian symbol 16 Leo, Sunshine just after a storm. Mercury will be retrograde until Aug. 11, when it turns direct at 04º14' Leo. Retrogrades are the universe's way of slowing us down for a bit, so keep your schedule lighter than you normally would. This retrograde is, in a sense, our permission slip to hit pause. Their first participation was in 1971 with the song "Les illusion de nos vingt ans" placing Switzerland at Number 12. Then they returned five years later to the Eurovision Song Contest 1976 performing the song "Djambo, Djambo" bettering their results by reaching Number 4. Three years later, in 1979 they tried it again with the help Pfuri, Gorps and Kniri in "Troedler und Co" coming 10th and their final participation was in 1981 with their best results of their four participations reaching Number 4 with "Io senza te".  Radio International's Marc and JP had the pleasure of an interview with Marc Dietrich about their particpations in Eurovision and their career. This interview will be broadcast on the show this week. You will certainly enjoy it.    KEiiNO (Norway 2019) at MancHagen 2025 Interview with KEiiNO (Norway 2019):  Our final interview Radio International has left to broadcast from the recent edition of MancHagen Eurovision 2025 PreParty is an interview that Radio International's  Salman did with KEiiNO to catch up with the sympathetic group from Norway that became the fans' favourite in 2019 when they reached 6th place with "Spirit in the sky" in Tel Aviv, Israel. Since then, KEiiNO have gone from strength to strength and toured the Eurovision World extensively as well as releasing new material and also competing again in the Norsk Meldodi Grand Prix which is Norway's national final to the Eurovision Song Contest. You can hear this interview on the show this week.    Margret Berger (Norway 2013) with Salman  at the London Eurovision Party 2025 Interview with Margret Berger (Norway 2013): It was in 2013 when Margret Berger represented Norway at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "I feed you my love" coming 4th in Malmö, Sweden. That particular song contest was won by Emmelie de Forest from neighbouring Denmark with the song "Only Teardrops". In the run up to the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 Margret was invited to the London Eurovision Party 2025 where the rowing reporter of Radio International Salman had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing Margret Berger which you can hear on the show this week. Maria Sur (Melodifestivalen 2023 and 2024)   Interview with Maria Sur (Sweden's Melodifestivalen 2023 and 2024): In 2023 a newcomer to Melodifestivalen in Sweden came from Ukraine and started her career in Sweden. Already her first Melodifestvalen entry was a success. Maria Sur qualified from the Heat into the Grand Final where she finished 9th with the song "Never give up".  In 2024, Maria Sur returned to Sweden's biggest music competition to select the entry to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest. The song in the running was "When you're gone" coming 7th in the Grand Final of Melodifestivalen 2024, coming second in her Heat.  Maria Sur was invited to perform a the London Eurovision Party 2025 where the Radio International rowing reporter Salman had the pleasure to interview Maria once again and you can hear it on the show this week.    The Alchemist at Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025   Interview with The Alchemist (Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025): On Sat. 08 Feb 2025 Miriana Conte and her song "Kant" (now "Serving") was selected by the jury and Maltese public to represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contetest 2025 in Basel in May. Emmelie has been keeping active as a musician and has written many songs for herself but also other artists including Eurovision performers. She also very often gets invited to perform at the fanclub events as well as national finals. She was at the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2014 and returned to Malta for a second time in the National in 2025. JP had the pleasure to conduct a catch-up interview with Emmelie de Forest you can hear on the show this week.   Kyle Alessandro (Norway 2025) with JP Interview with Kyle Alessandro (Norway 2025): Norway was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 by Kyle Alessandro with the song "Lighter" which came 18th in the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest. The Radio International Rowing Reporter Alain Forrotti had the pleasure to meet and interview Kyle Alessandro in Basel during the rehearsal week.  KAJ (Sweden 2025) Interview with KAJ (Sweden 2025): At the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 Sweden was  represented by Finnish Trio KAJ who won Sweden's Melodifestivalen with highest number of votes ever received by a Melodifestivalen Winner in the past and with that  represented Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 with the song "Bara Bada Bastu" coming 4th in the Grand Final, although the betting odds showed Sweden with a winning chance of 50%. Norway's Melodi Grand Prix 2025:  Saturday, 15 Feb 2025 is the date of Norway's National Final - The Norsk Melodi Grand Prix. Nine acts are battling it out for the ticket to represent Norway at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in May. The lineup includes the Bobbysocks who previously won the Eurovision Song Contest 1985 with the song "Let it swing" and also Wigwam who represented Norway in 2005 with the song "In my dreams". Radio International will introduce the songs of the Norway Melodi Grand Prix on the show this week with Robert Wahlstroem.   Melodifestivalen 2025: Sweden's national final is called Melodifestivalen and is the biggest one in the world of the Eurovision Song Contest. It is the 65th edition and is produced by Swedish broadcaster SVT. 30 entries out of 2794 submitted songs made it to the shows. The 30 entries will take part in the competition across five heats. Each heat consists of six songs, with the top two songs directly qualifying for the final. Unlike in the previous edition, only the third-placing song will proceed to a final qualification round at the end of the fifth heat, which will now feature five songs instead of ten. The top two songs in the final qualification will then progress to the final, which will comprise 12 songs. The winner of the final will be determined by the usual 50/50 combination of votes from the public and an international jury. Instead of our regular “Couple of the Quarter” episode, we are bringing to you a “Duo of the Quarter.” On Sat, Oct 21 at 7am local time, the individual world championships of backyard ultra running commenced in Bell Buckle, Tennessee. The format sees racers run a 4.17-mile loop, called a “yard” in backyard ultrarunning, within a one-hour time limit, after which all finishers within the allotted time are tied for first place, and must present on the start line on the hour to go again. This continues until there is only one runner left standing, who must complete a solo yard to be awarded the win.  After completing 107 yards & hours and covering 446 miles/718km, Ukrainian-Canadian and past guest Ihor Verys was the last person to DNF, assisting Harvey Lewis to a world record win.  Racers were allowed only one person to crew and support them for the duration of the race, and he entrusted 52 year old friend and fellow ultrarunner Marina Striker with that task.  To say she delivered is an understatement, and during this conversation you will hear how instrumental Marina's experience and support was in Ihor's success.  You will also be treated with a few stories of things Ihor does not remember during the 5 days of running and you will get a glimpse into the militaristic discipline and mindset required by both crew and runner to keep moving for 107 hours straight.
