Series 13, come through!I always say the parents of children with type 1 diabetes are the unsung rockstars, and today's guest is no exception.Angela McMahon is a busy mum living in Northern Ireland with her husband Steven and their four girls. Twins Sienna and Arianna were just 11 months old when their big sister Iszara was diagnosed with type 1 at the age of 5, in January 2015. Big sister Tamzin was 12 at the time, so there wasn't much room for a demanding chronic condition as well, although as you can imagine, sleepless nights were something Angela was more than familiar with when type 1 diabetes descended on their family. 10 years later, Angela spoke to me about the journey she and Iszara have been on, both individually and together as part of a busy, lively household - navigating homework with hospital appointments, and supermarket shops with finger pricks. We chat about having helpful conversations with school teachers, and how Angela is learning to step back as Iszara becomes more independent. Now 15 years old, Iszara moved onto a hybrid closed loop insulin pump earlier this year and the family have seen incredible changes. For Angela, it's the first time she's been able to sleep properly in a decade, while she describes her daughter as more comfortable with her condition, and more happy in herself. CONNECT WITH ANGELA: Say hi to Angela on Instagram.JOIN THE TYPE 1 ON 1 COMMUNITY: We've got an Instagram account! At any given time, there are something like 120 categories of business engaged in sports partnerships. And of all those categories of business, I don't think there's any as competitive as sports apparel and footwear. It is NOT for the faint of heart. Books have been written and movies have been made about how intense it is. That's why Tamzin Barriolhet, Under Armor's Senior Lead for Global Sports Marketing, is so perfect for that industry. Tamzin is a fearsome competitor, a skill she honed on the basketball courts of her native France. After competing at the D1 level in the US and a brief pro career in France, Tamzin turned her eyes to the business side of sports. If you're guessing that her competitive nature has served her well, you'd be correct. In our conversation, Tamzin and I talk about her early days as a basketball prodigy in France, the transition from playing sports to working in it, her current role at Under Armor, the evolution of the brand's partnership with global superstar Steph Curry, and how she stays on top of an industry that changes by the minute. Our conversation takes off quicker than a Steph Curry crossover, so brace yourself. And enjoy.

This week I'm joined on the Heads Together podcast by the captivating Tamzin Merivale. Tamzin is an artist and writer who has always been inspired by the women in her world. Women whose energy and inspirational natures light up a room, yet still, they can't see that for themselves. She offers portraits to women that are a visual representation of their true essence and of their story. She shows them their magic and their presence. It is a portrait not of the person they show the world, but of the much more dazzling truth of who they are. Tamzin also has a Substack newsletter called 'Resurface'. Her reflections give readers tools to gain a deeper understanding and acceptance of themselves and to live with a sense of freedom. Some topics that were discussed include: How refreshing Substack is as a platform for empathic women who hate the craziness of social media The magic of teasing a woman's story from her and giving her the words to share that story with the world How to plug the energy drains in your life.
