Story by: Gail NoblesKeyboard intro by: Gail NoblesPhoto: Kingbout - Own workUsage: Wikipedia/CC BY-SA 4.0Today's topic: Sunshine AndersonYou've heard her lead single "Heard It All Before" released May 21, 2001. Peaked at number 18 on the billboard hot 100 and at number three on the R&B charts. I was hearing Anderson single a lot. It seems like everywhere I went I heard that song. It came from her album titled Your Woman released in April 2001. The album debuted at number eight on billboard hot 200 and number two on Top R&B charts. After hearing the chorus of the single Heard It All Before, it was the harmony that made me pay attention. Then I began to pay attention to Anderson's message. Then I had to hear it from the beginning. And whenever I heard it again and again, it made me tap my feet, and it made me think about dancing. I thought: OK! That song got me.” And I always listen when she gets to the part “Look who's hurting now” and wait for that line to be repeated. And off and on in the song I would hear the music play the chorus. Sunshine Anderson was getting down with a new sound and a new song. She had a unique way with how she sang the message to her song with the music and backup singers. The song is about a woman who was fed up and tired of lies from her man.I'm Gail Nobles. Sunshine Anderson is today's topic.

Casting Director Karlee Fomalont (CSA) joins The Art of Kindness with Robert Peterpaul to discuss how we can make auditions kinder for both actors and CDs, amazing advice for artists, why she sleeps out for Covenant House and much more. Casting Director Karlee Fomalont (CSA) was born and raised in Los Angeles and currently resides in New York City. She is a 2-time Artios Award Nominee and graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts, where her acting training made for a seamless transition into casting. She began her career at CBS Primetime NY and ABC Primetime NY, then transitioning into independent, working on projects such as Baz Luhrmann's Netflix series "The Get Down," Steven Spielberg's "The Post" and Tamara Jenkins' "Private Life" (both for which the casting team was nominated for an Artios Award for Outstanding Achievement in Casting). Karlee has worked with Rori Bergman for over 7 years, with credits including "Yearly Departed" (Amazon), "Power Book III: Raising Kanan" (Starz), "Run the World" (Starz), "Living With Yourself" (Netflix), "Love Life" (Netflix), "The Good Cop" (Netflix). Karlee also casts short films and features independently, including Amazon Studios' feature film "I'm Your Woman" starring and produced by Rachel Brosnahan. Most importantly, Karlee gives back! For her 5th year in a row, she is leading Team Casting to sleep out in support of the young people who call Covenant House home. Covenant House works tirelessly to meet the most basic and immediate needs of at risk young people overcoming homelessness, but also sets them up to work towards their brightest futures through educational programs, job training, legal + mental health services and more. As, thankfully, my recent life/med stress ended early (quick - where's a piece of wood to knock on?), that means our temporary hiatus is ending a week early too! Editing this lively episode yesterday made me laugh multiple times. I figured that right now laughter is something we all could use in this grim world as of late so I wanted to deliver this conversation to you ASAP to hopefully brighten your day. Kind, witty, and wildly gifted, my good friend Nikki Dolson is a prolific crime writer whose work has been published in such well-respected places as Shotgun Honey, Tough, ThugLit, and Bartleby Snopes. The author of what she affectionately calls "a novelish thing" - the book All Things Violent - Nikki has also released a short story collection entitled Love and Other Criminal Behavior. And last fall, one of her outstanding pieces appeared in the prestigious Best American Mystery and Suspense Stories anthology of 2021, edited by Alafair Burke and Steph Cha. A delightful film buff who has excellent taste in movies (and men!), and is also quite the TV reenactor and movie trivia game player, I always have a ball talking to Nikki. And this witty, candid, free-flowing conversation, which covers women in the crime films The Last Seduction, Bound, The Long Kiss Goodnight, Widows, and I'm Your Woman (plus Michael Mann's Thief and Nicolas Winding Refn's Drive) was no exception to that rule. In fact, my favorite thing about this episode is that because Nikki is one of my very best friends, you're getting a different side of both of us than you would in other episodes, and you're hearing us delve into something we're truly, truly passionate about. Enjoy! Originally Posted on Patreon (6/9/22) here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/67517337Theme Music: Solo Acoustic Guitar by Jason Shaw, Free Music ArchiveLogo: Kate Gabrielle (KateGabrielle.com)

Money. Unpacking the most important lessons from Lynne Twist's perspective expanding book: The Soul of Money: Transforming Your Relationship With Money and Life 2. Sex. Survey results from 300 women in my community on the following questions: a. In your experience, do men typically invite you into pre-sex conversations about desires, boundaries, how your body is feeling in this moment etc? b. When you've established a boundary or said “no” to something, does the man thank you for communicating that…or does he react with disappointment or resistance? c. On average, how do you feel about the level of aftercare you've received from your man (aftercare = after the physical sex is over, how does he care for you emotionally)? 3. Identity: Since the single biggest driver of your life's actions is your identity, it begs the question: How much of your identity have you consciously chosen, and how much if it is unconscious? Read our afterthoughts for this episode at https://twitter.com/PodSematary/status/1424538982130487296 CW: Suicide, Overdose, Homophobia It's Friday the 13th on Pod Sematary! Chris & Kelsey shave their heads, apply a very stylish smoky eye, and just go ham with a machete on a corpse. And all with a kickass 90s soundtrack. The Classic Film: Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984) "After being mortally wounded and taken to the morgue, murderer Jason Voorhees spontaneously revives and embarks on a killing spree as he makes his way back to his home at Camp Crystal Lake” (IMDb.com). Well, this is it. He finally bites it. While it absolutely isn't the last we'll see of Jason, The Final Chapter is the end of the Friday the 13th franchise as we know it. It's pretty much all downhill from here. The Modern Film: Fear Street: Part One - 1994 (2021) "A circle of teenage friends accidentally encounter the ancient evil responsible for a series of brutal murders that have plagued their town for over 300 years. Welcome to Shadyside” (IMDb.com). Part One of Netflix's and R.L. Stine's Fear Street Trilogy sets things off with a bang in a teen horror that was better than we thought it was going to be, despite its perhaps overly effusive celebration of the 90s—a decade that, we must stress, we love very much. In the tense wait between Euro 2020 semifinals and the Final, we attempt to distract ourselves the only way we know how. CINEMA!! Sharon and Shaun catch Scarlett Johnasson's Swansong (or is it?) as Marvel's Black widow. Shaun and Tosin catch Vince Vaughn acting like a teenage girl in Freaky. At home Sharon sees Chris Pratt in The Tomorrow War on Amazon Prime, Tosin goes back to the 70s in I'm Your Woman, and Shaun relives a classic in The Thing from Another world. Is Netflix killing cinemas? Each week we weigh up what we've seen in cinemas with what we've watched online at home and figure out which provided the best time. At least, we did before COVID jumped in and declared Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney + and friends the winner. Woman..... Human created from the heart, with a beautiful mission to give life, and not only physical but also spiritual life, to bring the perception of Love where you are going, to bring comfort, tenderness to fragility to be able to tear the coldness from where it has to be taken away, and discovering the nobility, the subtlety of tenderness, to look with your eyes is to look from the heart and not from reason, it is to look to transcend what you see, to push it towards goodness, towards truth, towards fidelity. Woman, your path is tired, you have been given the responsibility of putting limits on the abyss of lust, the abyss of pride, but perhaps it is because they saw you strong, because your strength is your inner value, your power is in your coherence emotional, when you love, you love with the heart and with the truth, your truth emerges like crystalline water and you stumble the liar and conceited to the depraved and the coward, because who could sustain your loyalty, If your loyalty of Being a Woman, synonym of protection , of constant struggle to give you to others, who could stand your busy walk, who could touch you and then despise you, who could rise to understand you, because to understand you you have to have the purity with which you were created, the tenderness that accompanies you and the subtlety to feel ageno pain. Do not want to quench your truth, do not want to disintegrate your value for pleasure, do not want to continue hiding your greatness to your heart, wherever you are, take back your essence, look within yourself and dust false beliefs, and remember what you are and throw away to trash that they insist on placing you. You are a life bearer Your body is sacred and nobody uses it as sexual matter. Woman you are pure innocence You are wisdom You are true and your strength is to live in harmony with your heart, respecting your physical body knowing that in the Divinity dwells, do not sell it, or allow it to be used as a sex toy, You are a Being capable of giving yourself for Love to someone who is faithful to you, who mutually condenses into unity. You are a Being of wisdom and Love, so do not let them abuse your intellect, your reason for Being. The psychological abuse is not seen but also leaves wounds in the soul, much larger than external. Recognize when you are being psychologically abused, you will be able to realize when your behavior comes from fear, when you put aside your ideals to be a copy of someone else, when everything you are is belittled with offenses and is undervalued. The fact that you think differently and believe differently does not entitle anyone to see you as less capable. The economic status does not have to do with how you should be treated, your treatment must be equally, with respect for your person, you do not have to do anything that devalue your person to receive it, the respect and value of your person and God placed it in you. When you stop lending to the use of your body as a sexual matter, white trafficking will disappear, also prostitution, girls that are sold and are used as a matter of pleasure, Woman it is time that you do not see outside stop believing that a prince Blue comes and rescues you, do it You, be your own savior, take command of You and remember that You set the limits, You begin to value yourself first, to love and respect yourself in such a way that you do not leave room for a Depraved sexual, which began looking for you as sexual matter and ended up raping helpless people, it all started as a game already ended in a very serious world problem, addiction to pornography. It will cease to exist until Your Woman realizes who you really are, until you realize how much you are worth. Man stop seeing the woman as your property, stop justifying your ill desires by justification to take the woman by force. Man learns to value you and respect you, You also have the responsibility to say No, to respect yourself and set limits. Remember, nobody is more than the other, just respect because you were born of a woman.

This week on End Credits, we go on the run! Even though it's St. Patrick's Day, there's no party you can go to, so why not stay in, watch a movie, and listen to us talk about it? This week, the movie is I'm Your Woman, which is now streamable on Amazon Prime, and we will also make room to celebrate another matter, the Academy Award nominations. This Wednesday, March 17, at 3 pm, Adam A. Donaldson and Tim Phillips will discuss: Gold Rushes. They were a little late, but the nominations for the Academy Awards were announced this week, and they were certainly historic. Two directors of Asian decent were nominated for Best Director, and so were two women, and those are just a few of the historic firsts in this year's nods, which we'll run down this week along with their opposites, the Golden Raspberry nominations. REVIEW: I'm Your Woman (2020). Rachel Brosnahan is well known as the star of Amazon Prime's acclaimed comedy series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, but there's nothing funny about I'm Your Woman. The 1970s-set crime drama features Brosnahan as a wife and mother on the run and in hiding after her criminal husband starts a mob war, but can a bored house wife take back her agency and control her own destiny with a baby in one hand and a gun in the other? Let's tune in and find out. End Credits is on CFRU 93.3 fm and cfru.ca Wednesday at 3 pm.

The busiest -- and best -- movie month of 2020 brought us no shortage of TWIN new releases, about African-American aspiring musicians (Soul 3:50 and Ma Rainey's Black Bottom 8:10), about movies with an excellent lead actress (Promising Young Woman 20:18 - SPOILERS from 29:40-33:55 and Black Bear 38:42), about Riz Ahmed's excellent acting as a musician with a health crisis (Sound of Metal 34:00 and Mogul Mowgli 37:00), about man-eating wolves (The Wolf of Snow Hollow 39:00 and Wolfwalkers 39:45), about adult friendships (Fourteen 41:00 and The Climb 41:20), about movies that remind Sammy of In The Name of The Father (Mangrove 14:20 and End of Sentence 41:30), three movies that don't fit into this framework (Another Round 19:50, Happiest Season, and The 24th 40:40) plus a few that at least one of us suggest are NOT worth your time: The Nest (42:20), Wonder Woman 1984 (42:35), Yellow Rose (44:40), Bloody Nose Empty Pockets (45:09), Let Him Go (46:20), Let Them All Talk (46:30), I'm Your Woman (47:20). Oh, and the Small Axe movie Love Rocks (15:30) is really great so go watch that instead of listening to this podcast. We also prep for next month's best-of-2020 32 movies bracket episode by hosting a mini-bracket for 16 movies competing to make the finale (48:20). Only SPOILERS in the episode is for Promising Young Woman from 29:40 to 33:55. Outre: "Silly Games" (1979), Janet Kay, composed by Dennis Bovell.
