Dianna Muller has a LONG list of accomplishments, but the one that we should all be most proud of, is her fighting for the second amendment!   Dianna is a 3 gun, Fiocchi shooter, a retired police officer, a National and World Champion, and the list goes on! What really caught our attention, is that Dianna started the DC project, now called "Women for gun rights",  gathering women from all 50 states, to go to congress and fight for the second amendment.     We always preach "Takes someone new shooting" and sometimes you just run across the person that is either not sure, or against firearms. So how do you have that conversation without being confrontational?  We  thought Dianna would be the perfect person to help with this, and she DID NOT disappoint!. I'm Sarah Lee, and this is the Influence Watch podcast. With news last month that Visa and Mastercard had paused a plan to track gun purchases, and last year's SCOTUS decision that struck down a New York law that put restrictions on concealed firearms used for self-defense, conservatives seem to be winning on the gun issue. In fact, more women and minorities – and even progressives – are buying guns for self-defense. The Wall Street Journal reported in 2021 that during the COVID pandemic, gun sales soared, and more than half of those buyers were women. Joining my colleague Mike Watson and me today is Dianna Muller, the founder of DC Project, a women-focused guns rights nonprofit in DC with chapters all over the country dedicated to fighting for the constitutional right to self-defense. Hi Dianna, welcome to the show. With 22 years in law enforcement, it's safe to say Dianna Muller knows a thing or two about firearms and gun violence. If those credentials aren't enough to clinch her credibility, go ahead and add in the following: She's a two-time national 3-gun champion and professional shooter. She is a CLEET law enforcement firearms instructor, a member of the NRA Law Enforcement committee, and a subcommittee member of the Department of Interior Hunting and Shooting Sports Conservation Council. She is a host of the Shooting Gallery on the Outdoor Channel, and the founder of the DC Project. And as a woman in law enforcement, it's also safe to say she understands the potentially life-saving difference it can make for a woman to be able to defend herself with a gun, if necessary. That's why Dianna Muller is now dedicating herself to defending gun rights. The door has been cracked wide open, and there are people in power who are trying to come for our guns.Dianna Muller doesn't particularly want to spend all her time and resources defending Americans from the very people entrusted with our freedom, but if people like her do not... who will? That's why she created the DC Project, a nationwide organization of women committed to safeguarding the Second Amendment. In this episode, Dianna walks us through her expertise and experiences in the defense of gun rights, and explains how women, in particular, can become a force in this area. Here are some topics discussed:Dianna's path to law enforcementAdvances being made by those who seek to restrict gun rightsDifferences between people in different levels of law enforcementSome ways the Far Left manipulates facts and tragedies as reasons to restrict gun rightsThe DC Project- what it is, who it serves, how we can helpTestifying before CongressEducation, not legislationWOFT: West Orlando Firearms and Self Defense TrainingSituational awarenessBecoming a hard targetSpread the podcast and share with your friends! www.flexyourfreedompodcast.comFollow Barb Allen on InstagramSubscribe on YouTubeLearn About the Great American Syndicate

Riding Shotgun With Charlie #164 Dianna Muller The DC Project   I first met Dianna Muller, founder of The DC Project (DCP), back in 2019, when I was headed down to DC and filming a show in Philadelphia on the way down, then some of the DCP ladies in DC. I've run into her and several of the DCP ladies across the country at Gun Rights Policy Conference, NRA Annual Meetings, Florida Carry events, the Rod of Iron Freedom Festival, and almost any 2A event I've been to. Last fall, I was going to the Rod of Iron event in Greely, PA, and I was asked if I could pick up Di at the Wilkes-Barre Airport. How can I not? Since I was going to be driving a 2A personality, I had to film a show.    The month before we filmed the show, Di and the DCP ladies all went to Washington to do some work. Their work consists of talking to politicians about the women's side of gun ownership, the reason women own firearms, and why it's important for women to own and carry firearms. She also talks about why we need to take back the reins through school boards, local, state, and federal positions. This year, there were several new ladies who joined them in Washington. What she really wants to do is get the gun owners unified so we can all talk about why we believe what we believe.    Di talks about more than the DCP, but what some of the objectives are for the group and probably for any of the other 2A groups that are out there. The DCP was started to be a countermeasure to the ‘red shirts' (the Moms Demand Action group).  Di wanted to have a sea of teal shirts to be everywhere the red shirts were going. She wanted to be the pro-gun side of the women's voice, the side that has common sense and civil rights on its side.    One of the things we talk about is how the pro-gun side gets the blame everytime there's a mass shooting somewhere.  Why are we responsible for the actions of a murderer? Why do we have to defend the murders because we own firearms? Why do we often hold back 72 hours after a shooting before we make a statement, before all the facts are out? Usually the media has moved on to another story and do not retract their stories.  And the retracted stories certainly don't get the same amount of press as the incident itself gets.    Di also talks about the times testified in front of Congress. Certainly it's intimidating. Once she testified in front of David Chipman, who was a failed candidate for the head of the ATF. She also testified last year with Chris Cheng (RSWC #155) and Maj Toure. She's also had some of the DCP ladies testify or be prepared to testify, including Holly Sullivan (RSWC #036) and Gabby Franco (RSWC #117).   Finally Di gets to share with us about the Ambassador Academy. It's a week-long training for folks in the 2A community. The courses cover things like some media training and handling tv and radio/podcast interviews, making videos, handing your social media accounts. The Academy is held at W.O.F.T., which stands for West Orlando Firearms Training… or Where Our Families Train. W.O.F.T. has become known as “Tactical Disneyland”. It's outside of Orlando and it's a place where you can get all sorts of self defense training. They've got courses on low light training, empty hands combat, situational awareness, first aid, anti-car jacking, home defense, and much more. People that attend Ambassador Academy walk out with all this training and some professionally done photos and videos. The cost is hefty, but the people you're learning from are at the top notch in the firearm community.    I'm glad that I was able to give Di a ride that day. I'm honored that she thought of me to help her out.  This is what the firearm community is all about, supporting those who support you.  Favorite quotes:   “The Second Amendment is a non-partisan issue. It's a constitutional issue.” “It's up to us, you, me, and everyone listening, to right the ship.” “Everybody wants to be safe. The only difference is that there are people that want to feel safe, and there are us that actually want to be safe.” “The training that you get (at Ambassador Academy, anybody can use it in their life.” Di 3 GunGirl Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Di3GunGirl   Di 3 Gun Instagram https://www.instagram.com/di3gun/   The DC Project Facebook https://www.facebook.com/thedcproject   The DC Project Instagram https://www.instagram.com/dc_projectfoundation/   W.O.F.T. Riding Shotgun With Charlie #144 Mary Forgues The DC Project   At SHOT Show 2022, I was checking Dianna Muller's (RSWC #059) presentation on The DC Project (DCP) and ran into several DCP ladies who I've had on the show.  Holly Sullivan (RSWC #036, CCDL) introduced us and said I needed to have Mary Forgues on the show, which should be easy since she isn't that far from me. I was thrilled that Mary thought I was a rock star, so how could I NOT have her on the show.    The real reason for her being in the shotgun seat is that Mary's story about using a firearm to save her life is truly amazing! She didn't grow up as a firearm person, certainly not like she is now. She eventually got a firearm as a means to be able to protect her children as she is a single mother. She shares a shocking story that changed her life and her attitude about life.   Mary was involved in an attack in her home by someone she knew.  Her attacker was someone she tried helping through the VA, where she has strong connections as her brother is a Veteran. Previously, during a VA event, there was a need from her home which is how her attacker knew where she lived. Later that year, the attacker was released against clinical advice, she was notified, and he ended up at her house. On the night of her incident, her kids were out of the house and she was home alone.   He broke into her home and lied about some papers that he thought she had and he said he needed them. While she was putting one dog away in her room, he followed her upstairs to attack. While the man was on top of her, choking her neck and punching her face, her thoughts went from her daughter is going to come home and find her lifeless body to her daughter is going to come home and be the next victim. She was able to dial the last number she called and a male's voice was heard on her phone which distracted him long enough for Mary to grab her handgun from the dresser. If there were storage laws at that time, Mary would be dead.    She was able to get out of the house, contact the police, and get to a neighbor's house while she waited 10 minutes for the police to arrive. The attacker continued with his pattern of drug and alcohol abuse, which ended his life before a trial could take place.    During a training session at her boyfriend's training school, she shared her story with other women who have their own stories of struggle and maybe an attack. She reached out to Holly Sullivan, president of Connecticut Citizens Defense League, and Holly wanted her to share her story with Dianna Muller and the other DCP members. Since then, Mary has taken over the helm of the DCP representative for Connecticut.  She's got lots of amazing and ongoing plans and goals, which are going to include monthly get together are various businesses in Connecticut where the funds will go to the efforts of getting Mary to Washington, DC, where she tell her story to our employees, the politicians, and let them know that gun rights are women's rights. Favorite quotes: “It's probably my responsibility as a parent to protect my children.” “It took him around like 8 times for him to use his body to slam up on my door and to break through that sliding lock.” “Imagining your child going through anything like that, that puts more fight in you than for your own life.” “I've always been an advocate for people to have better options in life.” “Everybody is struggling with something and too many people avoid it.” Timestamp 00:00 Intro 01:34 Mary Forgues 03:12 Growing up 04:58 Buying her license  08:15 Continuing training 11:29 Generational gun ownership 13:51 Sharing her story 17:34 Meeting Holly 18:35 The incident 24:56 Heading upstairs 27:40 Breaking the door down 30:01 Daughters going to see me 31:46 Getting her gun 34:55 Escaping 38:14 10 Minutes for the police 40:40 Bonded out 4512:27 Court case/aftermath 45:11 Happy ending 48:13 Help on a different level 50:18 Testimony 51:42 DCP Video 56:20 DCP/CT events 1:01:19 Future plans 1:04:49 Wrap up The DC Project Website https://www.dcproject.info/   The DC Project Store https://www.dcproject.info/shop/   The DC Project Video with Mary https://youtu.be/IMZQ3DNE5CU   The DC Project YouTube Channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCCEgY6osl7qy2SWiDHP7_xw   Connecticut Citizens Defense League https://ccdl.us/ Second Amendment Foundation http://saf.org/   Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms https://www.ccrkba.org/     Please support the Riding Shotgun With Charlie sponsors and supporters.    Buy RSWC & GunGram shirts & hoodies, stickers & patches, and mugs at the store! http://ridingshotgunwithcharlie.com/rswc-shop/   Keyhole Holsters  Veteran Owned, American Made http://www.keyholeholsters.com/   Dennis McCurdy Author, Speaker, Firewalker http://www.find-away.com/   Self Defense Radio Network http://sdrn.us/

Cheryl Todd of Gun Freedom Radio: The HISTORY of Women and Guns! Even when women could not legally vote, we did legally have guns. Our foremothers used guns to hunt, to protect their land and livestock, and to guard over the safety of their families. Firearms and ammunition in the home were basic household tools – as basic as having, say, a hammer and nails. Yet, here we are in the 21st Century now trying to reclaim that normalcy and those Rights to possess, carry and use these life-saving tools of protection. Somewhere along the way someone told us that women don't use tools. And too many of us bought into it. And someone told us that Moms – you know good moms – don't allow certain kinds of tools into their homes. And a group even commandeered the word – Moms. Moms Demand something...not really specified...but it equates to “guns are bad” and if you are a mom, or a woman, or a decent human being of any kind you will agree with them...or else face being ostracized and cancelled. Can you imagine – all the strong, smart, capable, competent women in our nation, and really the world, being convinced that hammers and nails are too dangerous for we women to handle? And yet, too many of us have bought into THAT idea when it comes to firearms and ammunition. It's embarrassing, really. And it's time to reclaim our equal rights to own whatever tools we need to pursue life, liberty and happiness – whether it's hammers, nails, guns or ammo. We know names like Annie Oakley (who became a sharpshooter out of the necessity to put food on the table for her family), Ida B Wells (an African-American feminist, investigative journalist, educator, and early leader in the civil rights movement – helping to co-found the NAACP), Harriet Tubman (anti-slavery superhero of the Underground Railroad), AND the many (mostly forgotten) women who fought in the American Civil War. And, then there was Eleanor Roosevelt – the First Lady of four-term Democratic President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Ashley Hlebinsky is that woman. Ashley not only was the curator for the Cody Firearms Museum for several years, and is a walking talking history encyclopedia, but she also has made history by testifying to Congress setting the record straight about MIS-NAMED “Ghost Guns” and in doing so has worked to preserve our freedoms. Suzanna Gratia Huff might have stopped a murderer from killing and wounding nearly 50 people. Suzanna has continued to use her voice to advocate for more life-saving freedoms for all of us. A woman who is one of my personal heroes is Julianne Versnell – one of our hosts every year for this very event, GRPC. Julianne has spoken at the United Nations, to defend the right of women to protect themselves with firearms. Through instruments such as the wrong-headed Arms Trade Treaty, international gun control is a genuine threat and could ultimately strip individual firearms rights from people here in the United States and indeed all over the world. Julianne has positively impacted the international debate on behalf of all women. Finally, no conversation about the History of Women and Guns could be complete without mentioning one of my mentors, Dianna Muller, who founded The DC Project: Women for Gun Rights. Dianna saw the need to bring women together to counter the anti-rights groups with the truth that women DO own guns, carry guns, and we value our Rights to do so. Dianna has grown The DC Project into a powerful force that has a State Director in all 50 states and whose members have run for offices, won elections, and have testified in front of both state and federal Legislative bodies on behalf of protecting our Second Amendment Rights. We stand on the shoulders of giants and we cast their vision into the history of our nation's future.

You dedicate a huge portion of your time to teaching firearms safety to adults, and you recently recognized a way to help Derek in his efforts to empower kids with safety education. Talk to us about how Kiwanis intersects with all of this. -the creation of a political inert organization under Kiwanis to fight for that advocacy purely under the banner of Gun Safety for kids, no shooting, no gun handling, just what to do around guns. 3) Derek, how does S.A.F.E. Riding Shotgun With Charlie#096Theresa InackerCoalition of New Jersey Firearm OwnersThe DC Project   Theresa Inacker has done some cool things...I mean besides coming Riding Shotgun! She hunts pheasants.  She hangs out with Dick Heller. And she puts CNN”s Chris Cuomo in his place.  And it’s all in a day’s work for her.    I was heading down to New Jersey for a couple of other interviews and reached out to Theresa and she agreed to be on the show. Like many people, Theresa didn’t grow up in a household with or around firearms, but she had an uncle that would take her shooting to bust clays when she was young. Later in life, she decided it was time to be a gun owner. She lives in a rural area with a number of wildlife around her property. Once she learned how difficult the process is to buy a gun, how much red tape, and some of the nonsense you have to go through, she got involved.  The process in New Jersey is very unjust and that got her interested in being an activist.     The process in New Jersey is supposed to be 30 days. But that almost never happens, even pre-covid. It would take months. She said in New Jersey, that you own firearms on your own peril. After you find out that 30 days is not 30 days in a row, the outrage of denying your Rights takes over. Besides the regular process, the NCS check is not instant.  New Jersey does their own background checks when they get to them, which is never a rush. The truth is that New Jersey does not want it’s law abiding, background check passing citizens    Shooting shotguns in trap, sporting clays, and 5-stand, lead Theresa into a pheasant hunting trip with the Coalition of New Jersey Firearms Owner (CNJFO).  Her connection to CNJFO’s founder David “Rosey” Rosenthal (RSWC #049) led her to The DC Project with Dianna Muller (RSWC #059).  The connection to Dianna Muller led her and other DC Project members to sitting behind Dianna when she testified in front of Congress and proclaimed “I will not comply”.  Which led to Theresa meeting and hanging out with Dick Heller.    Theresa did get a chance to attend and ask a question at a CNN Town Hall with Chris Cuomo.  After hearing from the anti-gun side, she asked the producers if she was going to be able to ask her question.  When she did, she kind of let them have it. Kind of.  They weren’t sure how to reply to her.    It is beneficial for everyone to hear about the 2A Rights battles in states like New Jersey and Massachusetts so that people in ‘free America’ learn that our Right to own, purchase, and even carry is under attack.  And we can’t just run to a different state to avoid the fight. The fight needs to be in these battleground states so we hold the line.    Favorite quotes: “People don’t think of us as the gun owning people. We’re definitely not the gun toting people because we’re not allowed to do that.” “Someone has to stand and fight. You can’t run away.’ “They’re (Moms Demand) are operating by a lot of fear. There’s a lot of misinformation.”  “Their feelings don’t trump my ability to defend my life and my daughter’s life.” Theresa Inacker on The Truth About Gunshttps://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/tag/theresa-inacker/   The DC Projecthttps://www.dcproject.info/   Coalition of New Jersey Firearm Ownershttps://www.cnjfo.com/   Theresa Inacker on the Polite Society Podcast, 1.18.2021https://youtu.be/qccBWSmScYY   Theresa Inacker on Eye On The Target Radio, 2.14.2021https://youtu.be/6gL9dH8frc0 Please support the Riding Shotgun With Charlie sponsors and supporters.    Leadslingers Whiskeyhttps://leadslingerswhiskey.com/ info@leadslingerswhiskey.com   Keyhole Holsters Veteran Owned, American Madehttp://www.keyholeholsters.com/   Dennis McCurdyAuthor, Speaker, Firewalkerhttp://www.find-away.com/   Or listen on:iTunes/Apple podcastshttps://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/riding-shotgun-with-charlie/id1275691565   Spotifyhttps://open.spotify.com/show/4EEPud0XzYz4wo0MYmA9uB   iHeartRadiohttps://www.iheart.com/podcast/269-riding-shotgun-with-charli-30654270/   Self Defense Radio Networkhttp://sdrn.us/   OpsLens App on iPhone & iPadhttps://apps.apple.com/us/app/opslens-network/id1498033459

She’s a vegetarian, does yoga, and doesn’t like killing spiders, let alone other animals. Go down the checklist of everything you’d expect as an anti-gunner and that’s her, too. Growing up in Canada and California, no one in her family liked shooting or went hunting. They hated guns.  Four years ago, it was her husband’s “bucket list” that changed everything. He wanted to buy a gun in California and she took lessons with him. During these lessons, Judi cried at the thought of holding and using a gun. She thought the gun was going to jump out of the safe and shoot her, but it didn’t.  When she learned about the Winchester Marksman Program through the National Rifle Association, changed everything for her. The WMP challenged her and she knew she wouldn’t just be throwing ammo down range. She would be working on marksmanship and she had a goal to get better at shooting.  She’s done a 180 degree change on the ‘gun issue’.  She’s started a group of similar and retired women to go shooting.  She still has, to this day, friends who don’t know she’s into shooting & she’s lost some friends, too!  Then she learned about A Girl & A Gun and merged with them.  At a National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) Fantasy Camp, did some training with several professional shooters including Dianna Muller.  A couple years later, Judi & Dianna were on a squad for a 3-gun competition and Di asked her about being the California rep for the DC Project. That’s how much she’s changed. She’s now educating politicians about how gun rights are women’s rights.  One of the things I really liked is that with her background in yoga, she’s able to make parallels between shooting and yoga.  She teaches both shooters and yoga practitioners about breathing, slowing down, and focusing on your body. It’s certainly a benefit of both activities.   We spend some time talking about getting a license in California, some things about concerns with the women in her AGAG chapter, and their very busy schedule. Judi’s group has 70+ women from all walks of life and all ages, from a famous female athlete to a mom who makes soap for the family business. Please check the link below for their schedule if you’re in the San Diego area.  While we were driving, we wanted to drive by the Lincoln Memorial, but ended up driving by Arlington National Cemetery. Next to Arlington, is the Iwo Jima Memorial where we grabbed a couple selfies.  We also got caught by someone for parking in a non-parking area. (You can see that on the RSWC Facebook page.) Since we filmed this episode, Judi and Tatiana Whitlock joined forces and they host Responsibly Armed Radio.  It’s really wonderful to see that someone can get into the shooting sports even though they’ve been against gun ownership their entire lives. Please share this with someone who isn’t into firearms and maybe they, too, can make a change.  Let’s face it, shooting a .22 is a gateway drug to freedom.  Favorite Quotes: “By my 4th lesson, my instructor brought out something called the the Winchester qualification” “Once you get into the gun world, so much more information comes to you.” “We’re here to educate and talk to our legislators about our Second Amendment Rights.” “I want my congressmen to know, and my senator to know, what is going on in California and what the face of a normal gun owner looks like.” A Girl & A Gun Websitehttps://www.agirlandagun.org/   A Girl & A Gun - San Diegohttps://www.agirlandagun.org/cat/ca-san-diego/   A Girl & A Gun Facebookhttps://www.facebook.com/AGirlandAGunClub/   A Girl & A Gun Instagramhttps://www.instagram.com/agagclub/   The DC Projecthttps://www.dcproject.info/   The DC Project Facebook Pagehttps://www.facebook.com/thedcproject Responsibly Armed Radiohttp://responsiblyarmedradio.com/ Please support the Riding Shotgun With Charlie sponsors and supporters.    To order RSWC stickers, patches, shirts, hoodies, and mugs, please go tohttp://ridingshotgunwithcharlie.com/home/rswc-swag-merch/   Keyhole Holsters Veteran Owned, American Madehttp://www.keyholeholsters.com/   Dennis McCurdyAuthor, Speaker, Firewalkerhttp://www.find-away.com/   Or listen on:iTunes/Apple podcastshttps://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/riding-shotgun-with-charlie/id1275691565   Spotifyhttps://open.spotify.com/show/4EEPud0XzYz4wo0MYmA9uB   iHeartRadiohttps://www.iheart.com/podcast/269-riding-shotgun-with-charli-30654270/   Self Defense Radio Networkhttp://sdrn.us/   OpsLens App on iPhone & iPadhttps://apps.apple.com/us/app/opslens-network/id1498033459

Riding Shotgun With Charlie #075 Brooke Cheney A Great Start Shooting School The DC Project   I met Brooke Cheney at The DC Project dinner in Washington last summer.  Then we ran into each other again in Massachusetts at the Gun Owners Action League Concealed Carry Fashion show back in March. Of course, we kept in touch and with the current times, I needed to stay local for a show.  We did use some Leadslingers Hand Sanitizer, thanks for LeadslingersWhiskey.com, and headed out for a drive.    Brooke grew up and learned a little about firearms when she was a young girl. Her dad would load up a firearm and have her shoot them.  When she was dating her to-be-husband, they would go shooting, and he would load the firearm and have her shoot it. It wasn’t until after she had children, that she really needed to learn about firearms since they were going to be in the house.    Like many of us, after we take a safety course, we learn that we have more to learn. She learned that the course to get her license was just the beginning of the journey she was going to be on.  She ended up getting into competitive shooting and built a backyard range for practicing.  When she looked into insurance for the backyard range, she decided that it was time to become an instructor.  In less than a week, she was an NRA Certified Instructor, teaching courses to help women get their Connecticut permits.    Brooke shares when she had what she calls her “Wonder Woman Moment”! She realized that she can instruct and help women have their own Wonder Woman Moment to overcome their fears and concerns about firearms and firearm ownership. At A Great Start Shooting School,  Brooke offers many courses and opportunities for women to learn and get comfortable using their firearms.  Instructing led to a chance to work with A Girl and A Gun and teach at their National Conference.    Becoming active with firearms and instructing led to her getting involved politically about gun laws with the Connecticut Citizens Defense League, especially after Newtown since it was so close to her. Her actions have led to her getting involved with Dianna Muller and The DC Project.  The DC Project heads to the Capital every year to connect with Congress members, sharing their stories about why gun ownership among women is very important.    Back in 2006, you could have never gotten her to believe that she would be doing all of the things she’s doing.  Besides competitive shooting, instructing and becoming a Training Counselor, CCDL, AG & AG, & DCP, she also does something on her AGSSS YouTube channel. Its the Suicide Prevention Saturday!  Its a live video chat she does on Saturdays at 9 pm/eastern time. She’s put a lot of study into mental health and issues and how it’s related to gun owners and suicides. SPS gives her an outlet to reach out and talk about these issues.     We barely had time to bring up SPS because she’s got a lot going on.  And she’s still a mom and wife and has to work, too!    Favorite Quotes: “You have to become a competitor to learn what you need to learn to get better” “It also built my confidence to realize that it was OK that I sucked”  “I tell everyone of my Wonder Woman moment, where I packed my own range bag”  “Every step of my career has been an impetus from someone else” “Being a gun owner has made me more confident, it has made me more educated about our political system” A Great Start Shooting School Website https://www.agreatstartshootingschool.com/ Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/agreatstartshootingschool/ YouTube Channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZAeFAuFzQcPNREbIp8pcyA   Team Icarus Shirts (Look Like Brooke!) https://teamicarusshirts.wixsite.com/icarus/brooke?fbclid=IwAR0wYFczP_Vj6NfR5sEyqnFm3wdhP_EAS15wrgBfnJfeoV74w5oeE8jNJuw   The DC Project https://www.dcproject.info/   Connecticut Citizens Defense League https://ccdl.us/   A Girl & A Gun https://www.agirlandagun.org/ Please support the Riding Shotgun With Charlie sponsors and supporters.    Leadslingers Whiskey https://leadslingerswhiskey.com/ inifo@leadslingerswhiskey.com   Asfaleia Designs https://asfaleiadesigns.com/   Keyhole Holsters  Veteran Owned, American Made http://www.keyholeholsters.com/   Dennis McCurdy Author, Speaker, Firewalker http://www.find-away.com/   Or listen on:iTunes/Apple podcasts https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/riding-shotgun-with-charlie/id1275691565   Spotify https://open.spotify.com/show/4EEPud0XzYz4wo0MYmA9uB   iHeartRadio https://www.iheart.com/podcast/269-riding-shotgun-with-charli-30654270/   Self Defense Radio Network http://sdrn.us/

We are doing a series called Ameri-CAN. Talking about the CAN-DO spirit that is part of our American DNA. So much about our lives has been turned upside down by this Corona Virus / Covid-19, and we have been hearing a lot about what we CAN’T do and where we CAN’T go, but our guests during this series are going to talk to us about their area of expertise and all of the ways we still CAN learn and grow, train, connect, and expand our freedoms in ways we maybe haven’t thought about before. Our guest today is Dianna Muller is a retired police officer, who served 22 years with the Tulsa Police Department. She is part of the Benelli 3-Gun and the founder of The DC Project. #1) Tell us about the DC Project? The mission of the DC Project Foundation is to raise awareness among community members, including legislators, that firearms safety and violence prevention are achieved through EDUCATION, not legislation; to encourage the PRESERVATION of America’s gun culture from conservation and commerce to competitive sports, hunting, and self-defense; and to highlight the diversity and rising demographic of female gun owners through ongoing ADVOCACY because gun rights are women’s rights. #2) How can people spend this time of #QuarantineLife to get more connected to their Constituitinal Rights and their elected Officials? #3) What is #tealfor2A ? #4) You’ve talked a lot about corporate activism. What do you mean by that term? Basically, anti gun groups are using their positions or gaining positions on the boards of major companies and banks, and presenting shareholder resolutions to cut ties with the firearms community. Some of it is basically blackmail, “if you don’t cut ties with the NRA we will unleash a campaign against you and make a PR nightmare”, but some are like the owner of Dicks Sporting Goods, that really believe it’s his duty of social justice, even if it means losing money.

Riding Shotgun With Charlie #059 Dianna Muller The DC Project Washington DC #DoingSomething #IWillNotComply   For a few years ago, a good friend said I needed to get Dianna Muller in the stagecoach. Our paths finally cross this past summer in Washington DC.  Dianna Muller is a very busy woman! She’s been a police officer for 22 years in Oklahoma before she felt that God was pulling her in a different and new direction, which is what she’s doing now.    Four years ago, she had the idea to get a woman from every state in America to go to DC to talk to legislators about gun rights from the female perspective. That’s how The DC Project was born.  She thought that she could get a competitive shooter from each state, but she got something better. Regular women with their own stories about how and why they own or carry firearms.    The DC Project members all converge on DC in July to in small teams to meet with various legislators from both sides of the isle. Some are pro gun and some are not. Over the years, the pro gun legislators look forward to seeing the woman in DC.    On September 25, Dianna made another trip to the nation’s capital to deliver a testimony for the House Judiciary Committee Hearing on Assault Weapons. There were 7 people who were facing the committee.  Five of them were from the gun control crowd. On our side, we had Dianna and Amy Swearer from the Heritage Foundation. These two ladies did an amazing job standing up for the 100 million plus gun owners in America.    You can watch Dianna’s testimony here. https://www.c-span.org/video/?c4819138/dianna-muller-testimony    On July 9 2019, I went to the hotel to pick up Dianna for the interview. We meet briefly the night before when I checked in to the hotel. We had breakfast the next morning with a couple of the DC Project members. I did some interviews, which you may have already seen, then I was going to meet Dianna for this show.    She guided us thru DC so she could scout out some places for photo ops the next day when she was with all the DCP ladies.  We have some driving confusion, but we made it work. This is the busiest week of her year. She takes a call from Becky Lou, one of the DC Project members, from Louisiana.  She takes some time to tell us that she grew up with a father that was a police officer, which sort of lead her into becoming an officer. When she shot her first deer, it was a doe.  And not far was the doe’s fawn. That ending hunting for awhile. As a teenager, she started competitive shooting and really took to it. For the last few years, she and her husband have been competitive shooters and doing well.    The two sentences she said that really stand out for me are: 1) “Women can have a stronger impact when it comes to speaking about the Second  Amendment” 2) ”The diversity in the gun world is amazing”   Here are some links to her social media outlets.    The DC Project https://www.dcproject.info/   Buy your #IWillNotComply T-Shirt here https://www.dcproject.info/p/willnotcomply-tshirt/   Facebook https://www.facebook.com/thedcproject/   Instagram https://www.instagram.com/dc_projectfoundation/   Dianna Muller’s Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Di3GunGirl/   Ambassador Academy https://www.pro3gunner.com/ambassador/   United States Shooting Academy Tulsa, OK http://usshootingacademy.mobi/   Check out RSWC Sponsors   Keyhole Holsters Veteran Owned, American Made http://www.keyholeholsters.com/   Dennis McCurdy Author, Speaker, Firewalker http://www.find-away.com/ Or listen on:   iTunes/Apple podcasts https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/riding-shotgun-with-charlie/id1275691565   Spotify https://open.spotify.com/show/4EEPud0XzYz4wo0MYmA9uB   iHeartRadio https://www.iheart.com/podcast/269-riding-shotgun-with-charli-30654270/

Erich Pratt is the Senior Vice President for Gun Owners of America (GOA). GOA is a national grassroots organization representing more than two million Americans dedicated to promoting their Second Amendment freedom to keep and bear arms. #1) Let’s dive right in on the topic of Red Flag Gun Laws or ERPOs. What are they, and who would think these are a good idea for America. #2) Recently our mutual friend, Dianna Muller, founder of The DC Project, and 22 year veteran of the Tulsa Police Department testified at the House Judiciary Committee Hearing on the “Assault Weapons Ban”…she famously stated at that Hearing that she would not comply…a former law enforcement officer…would not comply with an “Assault Weapons Ban”…can you talk to us about why she, and millions of other law-abiding American Citizens, would hold such a view? #3) The Anti-Rights crowd loves to say that 98% of Americans – including gun owners – agree that we need Universal Background Checks. Yet, when I talk to people around the nation, I definitely do not get a sense that people want the government looking deeper into their personal lives, and keeping more detailed records about their Social Media history and medical records – whether you are a gun owner or not. So, how do we jive those two things? Could it be that people don’t really understand what a Universal Background Check really is and what it entails? #4) Until I was prepping for our interview today I hadn’t even heard the name Chuck Canterbury, so I have to assume that most Americans haven’t either. Turns out he has been nominated for the head position at the Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF)…but there are many Republicans and many gun owners who oppose his nomination. What can you tell us about all of that? #5)The FBI Uniform Crime Report for 2018 is out today. Looks like murder was down by about 7% from 2017. How does that square with the Mainstream Media's portrayal of violence in American today?
