2024 is going to be a busy year for multi-Platinum rockers COLLECTIVE SOUL--Ed Roland (vocals/guitar), Dean Roland (rhythm guitar), Will Turpin (bass/background vocals), Jesse Triplett (lead guitar/background vocals), Johnny Rabb (drums/background vocals)-who will be celebrating their 30th anniversary with various projects throughout the year. Redd Kross and Current Melvins' Steven McDonald is a foundational part of LA's punk scene, and a brilliant songwriter and guitar player. Redd Cross's new Double Album, “Self-Titled Album” kicks ass, and Steven was generous enough to give The Jons an early listen. The album soars to heights untold. Held together with harmonies Steven and his brother Jeff McDonald blend together so solidly it allows the band to explore the entire matrix of rock music and yet, remain Redd Cross. The album has many twists and turns, not unlike the twists and literal turns this episode of Two Jons Takes. Like no other episode before it: it contains driver-swaps, spontaneous hitchhiker pickups, and Steven eventually taking the wheel of the FARTVAN(!) and yet it is all held together with a beautiful tapestry of lefts, and no rights. Truly a groundbreaking episode.

Venice is known mostly for their amazing harmonys, ones you might hear from Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, The Eagles or Steely Dan. But they have made a mark for themselves in the music world. Following their sisters (and Aunts) the Lennon Sisters, this band has been together since the 80s, impressing the likes of Jackson Browne, David Crosby & Steely Dan. They have worked with such great as Cher, Stevie Nickes, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, Brian Wilson, Sting & Phil Collins. Infact they were chosen as the backup vocals for Roger Water's The Wall tour from 2010 - 2013. The band has a new album titled "Stained Glass" which features 16 new songs written by the band and recorded in Micahel Lennon's backyard during the pandemic.
