Another episode of Ask Dubey is here! Devan Dubnyk checks in from Secaucus, New Jersey to answer your questions on the biggest stories around the NHL, the Edmonton Oilers, and the current Stanley Cup Playoff picture. This week, Dubey breaks down the shocking Colorado Avalanche sweep at the hands of Vegas, why injuries may have played a massive role, and how the Golden Knights have suddenly become one of the most dangerous teams left standing. He also dives deep into Edmonton's ongoing goaltending questions heading into next season and explains why he'd seriously consider calling Minnesota about Filip Gustavsson.Dubey also gives an awesome behind-the-scenes look at how goaltending has evolved over the years — from the rise of RVH/VH techniques to why NHL save percentages are dropping league-wide. Plus, he shares stories from his time with the Oilers in the 2010s, the “bonded by trauma” era in Edmonton, and why Ryan Jones is still one of his closest hockey friends today.

Dusty has the day off, but the studio is absolutely buzzing! Tom Gazzola steps into the host seat today on 2 Guys and a Goalie, and he's joined by Joaquin "Gager" Gage to tackle the single most controversial headline in Edmonton sports media right now.   An article dropped in the Edmonton Journal yesterday, with the entire city losing its mind. The piece doesn't just critique the team—it takes a direct run at number 97, questioning his leadership style and aggressively asking: Should Connor McDavid even be the captain of the Edmonton Oilers? Gager and Tommy pull no punches as they dive headfirst into this massive debate. Is this critique completely unhinged journalistic malpractice, or is there a microscopic kernel of truth about what this room needs moving forward?   The Roster & Rallies: Gager gives his raw, unfiltered perspective as a former NHLer on what McDavid brings to the table, how the room views him, and why turning on a generational superstar is a dangerous game for local media to play. The Coaching Carousel Search: While the captaincy debate continues, Stan Bowman is still locating his next bench boss. The boys update the timeline on Craig Berube and the strategic standoff with Vegas over Bruce Cassidy. What is taking so long, and who actually lands the job?   2 Guys & a Goalie is presented by GS Construction!

Boomer, Pinder and Rhett react to the Edmonton Oilers officially firing head coach Kris Knoblauch as the fallout from a disastrous season continues. What starts as a conversation about the coaching change quickly turns into a much bigger discussion about the state of the entire organization, from the constant turnover behind the bench to the roster issues and years of playoff disappointment despite having Connor McDavid. The guys debate whether this is truly the final straw for McDavid in Edmonton and if the Oilers are now entering a “one last ride” situation before their franchise superstar finally decides he's had enough. It's a brutal but honest conversation about an organization that feels completely lost right now.Video Link: https://youtu.be/fQKUvMR-ACw#nhl #nhlshorts #nhlplayoffs #nhlpredictions #nhlhockey #nhlpicks #stanleycup #stanleycupfinal #edmontonoilers CHECK OUT OUR STUFF ⬇️BARN BURNER MERCHhttps://nationgear.ca/collections/shirts/FlamesnationBARN BURNER SHORTS https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLj_bcGtvvo-cW2DHEDZ6dEO5ePDmlhZc9&si=jo8iNGxT4ImhS2Y8

Thursday afternoon means a fresh episode of Real Life was recorded and edited, and it's ready to help you wrap up the week. On today's podcast, the guys discussed the Kris Knoblauch firing, what comes next for the Edmonton Oilers, Tyler's mukbang idea, and much more. The guys kicked off the Monday episode of Real Life with a conversation about basically anything they could think of that did not involve the Edmonton Oilers. Whether it was Tyler's tiny tummy or Garrick Higgo showing up late to the PGA Championship, to the snack station at Nation HQ, the guys really avoided the big topic of the day for way longer than expected. Needless to say, the guys did a pretty good job of pushing the Oilers convo down the road. Finally, the boys spoke about the Oilers pulling the trigger on firing Kris Knoblauch early Thursday morning. Given that the news leaked a couple of days ago, no one was surprised when the axe finally fell, but that didn't stop the world from looking at the sequence of events and dunking on the team. Talking about Knoblauch being fired led to a conversation about the summer and what the Oilers need to do to turn the ship around. Finally, the guys wrapped up the podcast on the Thursday episode of Real Life with a run of topics, starting with some Family Feud talk, beefs of the week, and another game of 501 where Baggedmilk and Wanye defended their undefeated streak. Even with the big team news that came down today, it's always remarkable to hear the boys avoid topics like absolute professionals. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

The Coaching Carousel: Is Bruce Cassidy the Answer? | The Oil Stream The silence has been broken!   After a whirlwind 24 hours that sent shockwaves through the NHL and the streets of Edmonton, The Oil Stream is back to break down the massive coaching news surrounding the Edmonton Oilers.   On today's show: The Cassidy Bombshell: Reports are surfacing that the Oilers have officially set their sights on Bruce Cassidy as the successor to Kris Knoblauch. Tommy gives his unfiltered thoughts on the pursuit—is Cassidy the tactical "hired gun" this core needs to get over the hump, or is this another reactionary move? Did They Handle It Right? From the rumored rift between Knoblauch and management to the optics of a coaching change just weeks after a playoff exit, we discuss if the Oilers' front office handled this transition with class or if it was a "conundrum" of their own making. The Maple Leafs Factor: The coaching market is a game of musical chairs. What happens if the Toronto Maple Leafs jump into the fray and snag Cassidy before the Oilers can secure permission? We look at the potential fallout if Edmonton's top target ends up in the Eastern Conference. Contender Status: Does a new voice behind the bench immediately make the Oilers a Cup favorite again, or are the roster holes too deep for any coach to fix? The "McDavid Window": We discuss how this move impacts the long-term future of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. Is this the bold play required to keep the stars in town, or does it add more instability to the organization?    The Oil Stream is presented by Boston Pizza!
