De provinciale staten van Gelderland debatteerden gister opnieuw over de wolf. Voor de deur van het provinciehuis een paar honderd boze burgers en boeren: ze eisen meer actie tegen de wolf. Maar de politiek is aan nationale en internationale regels gebonden, terwijl ze in meerderheid voor het afschieten van probleemwolven zijn. President Donald Trump heeft gereageerd op de vliegtuigcrash in Washington vanochtend. Hij wijst naar voormalige Obama en Biden in de schuldvraag van de crash: die zouden te veel diversiteitsbeleid hebben gevoerd in de luchtvaartsector, ten koste van de veiligheid, aldus Trump. Ander nieuws uit The Daily Move: De Europese Centrale Bank heeft de beleidsrente, zoals verwacht, opnieuw verlaagd met 25 basispunten, naar 2,75 procent. De inflatie in de eurozone komt onder controle, zegt ECB-president Christine Lagarde. De provincie Gelderland werkt aan een plan om de stikstofuitstoot bij kwetsbare natuurgebieden sterk te gaan verminderen. Dat wil de provincie gaan doen door 'zones' te gaan instellen rondom deze gebieden. Volgens de provincie is het plan NU nodig om Gelderland 'van het slot te halen'. Ruimtevaartwetenschappers kijken met grote interesse naar een planetoïde ter grote van een voetbalveld die de aarde in 2032 zou kunnen raken. Na de dood van een wolf onderzoeken experts het dier om leven en doodsoorzaak te reconstrueren. En dat komt voor veel provincies als een verrassing. Er komt een nieuw plan, zegt het kabinet, maar dat is nu nog niet bekend, dat staat straks in het nieuwe regeerakkoord. Het demissionaire kabinet wil af van megastallen, maar er komen er juist steeds meer bij. Dat blijkt uit cijfers die de NOS heeft opgevraagd. Volgens demissionair landbouwminister Adema past dit type landbouw niet meer bij Nederland, maar de realiteit is dat het aantal stallen met grote aantallen dieren alleen maar toeneemt en ironisch genoeg heeft dat juist te maken met aangescherpte natuur-eisen. In deze podcast legt Thomas Spekschoor uit hoe dat zit en óf het wel een probleem is, want de veestapel als geheel groeit niet. Thomas volgt voor de NOS het landbouw- en stikstofdossier en ging langs in in Maasbommel in Gelderland, waar op dit moment plannen zijn voor drie nieuwe megastallen. Update: Halverwege deze podcast wordt gesproken van een groei van het aantal megastallen met bijna 15 procent tussen 2018 en nu. Dat percentage blijkt niet te kloppen. The Kroller Muller Museum in the park houses a significant collection of art, especially from Van Gogh, making it a great alternative to the crowded Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. North of Amsterdam are the Dutch Golden Age cities of Horn and Enkhuizen with rich history, including impressive buildings, and the Zuiderzee Museum.
