We are super stoked to have Cory Walker and Harry Clark of East Nash Grass joining us as our guests on No Simple Road this week! The band that would become East Nash Grass began to take shape by chance, as a weekly bluegrass night at Dee's Country Cocktail Lounge. The gig leadership changed hands and players came and went over several years, and what started as a loose collection of pickers gradually solidified into a committed group of dedicated bandmates. They quickly became one of the top young bands in bluegrass music, whose members have been highly sought-after as side musicians for the genre's top stars and hottest bands. Today, whether it's Bluegrass Monday at Dee's, or the hallowed stage of The Ryman Auditorium, East Nash Grass brings swagger, staggering abilities, and high energy to every performance. We talk with Cory and Harry about: Why Cory hates Brunch and anything that has to do with it. The superhero origin story of the band. The effects Billy Strings has had on the genre of bluegrass and how that has helped all pickers. The magical element of playing with other phenomenal players that changes the 'air' in a room. The way the connections inside the band have grown and strengthened over the years. Creating the new album Last Chance To Win. Some of the most exquisite stained glass windows in the United States filter light at the Saint Vincent De Paul Church in Bayonne, NJ. The Catholic church was predominantly constructed by Irish men and women in this working-class town, situated across the river from Manhattan, in 1894. During the 1920s, an innovative priest at the church hired a craftsman named Harry Clark from Ireland to design the 40 windows in the church, centered around the concept of suffering. The church's historian, Peter Keenen O'Brien, conversed with ReligionUnplugged.com's executive editor, Paul Glader, regarding the church and its windows.

Going back to when I was a child, I started taking piano lessons from the Pastor's wife, and a couple years later, I started playing for the weekly Sunday School services. Looking back at this, I think it is the best gift that I've ever received. "Into my heart", by Harry Clark, is one of the songs I would play, as well as "Thank you Lord", by Seth Sykes. It's because if these two songs, I've always worked to follow Jesus the best I can. I'm still reading and studying my bible every morning, and following the Navigator System of reviewing the last twenty one verses I've memorized. I'll play "Thank you Lord". Thanks for listening.

Harry Clark is a highly-rated serial entrepreneur and keynote speaker. He’s overseen sales of major companies, founded two Inc. 500 companies, and travels the world speaking to entrepreneurs, family businesses, and executives. However, Harry has also learned some of the toughest lessons in business the hard way. In his book, Mistakes Millionaires Make, he tells the stories of 30 entrepreneurs - including himself - who each made and then subsequently lost $10 to $200 million. He’s on a mission to help others learn from his mistakes and discover what they don’t teach you in business school before it’s too late. Today, Harry joins the podcast to share how he became a serial entrepreneur despite not having started several companies in his teens and early twenties, the importance of mentorship and great management, and the many similarities between selling a company and preparing for retirement. In this podcast interview, you’ll learn: How Harry found his first niche business, grew it to become the largest in the United States, and sold it to a Fortune 100 in just seven years. Why arrogance and a lack of good advice led to Harry losing over $100 million of his own fortune between 2004 and 2005 - and why wealth is not a scorecard. Why recovering from professional failure takes years, not months, and how this disaster set Harry down a new path in his life and work. The reason you need to stick to your financial plans, even when external circumstances make you want to act otherwise. Harry’s tips and strategies for surviving tough times - and why he believes that taking care of your mental and physical health is key to getting through.
