It's the "He's Just Not That Into You" episode! Miranda loves Berger's phrase, and applies it to her new dates. All the ladies love Berger at their dinner together, Carrie & Berger exchange "ILY" bombs, and then have a big fight about her reading his book. Scrunchies! Sam & Jerry do some dress-up role play until Jerry scares Sam by being really real, and Charlotte makes her first big Jewish dinner, and how does THAT go? Oy, vey. This week I analyse Scarlett Johansson's performance in the star-packed women-are-like-this-and-men-are-like-this broad gender stereotype comedy (!?) He's Just Not That Into You. Will Scarlett break the slump and be given a character with something to do? Does this film, based on a self help book, have something insightful to say? We have a legend on deck -- author/comedian Greg Behrendt, the man responsible for "He's Just Not That Into You", both the book and the famous Sex and the City quote (he worked on the iconic show for six years). We discuss the book and go deeper on other dating-related and life topics like falling out of love with a partner, why some people accept so little in relationships, the first step to getting over someone, how to stop taking bullshit from fuckers (including yourself), and more. And of course we had to ask him our burning questions about SATC and his feelings on the movie adaptation of his book. We also catch up on one of Rayna's exes resurfacing, the show Ashley can no longer watch in her parents' house, and we turn the tables on our topic with listeners answering "I knew I wasn't into him when....". This is our Fight Song (episode) and we're talking about how to manage conflict in relationships, from minor triggers with someone you just started dating to big blowouts with your long-term partner. We cover how to rein in passive aggression and assumptions, keys to healthier discussions, approaches for confrontation, alcohol as a factor, being proactive to avoid future fights, and more. Welcome back, friends! We're still in quarantine, which means we have loads of time to watch rom coms and record episodes for you, and while we're in this state, why not watch a rom com that makes you question whether or not you really should be dating at all, right? Yep, we're bringing you our take on He's Just Not That Into You (2009). There's so many plots! So many people! So many shitty decisions being made at all times! Buckle up, for a rewarding yet very confusing ride. Tell us what you think! twitter: @toalltheromcoms ig: @romcomsweveloved romcomsweveloved@gmail.com Music by Ian Boyd, whose mouth Sarah will spit in if she ever gets the chance.
Best friend and recurring quarantine-lifer Alex Warheit sits with me in our living room (as we do every day and night) and shows me a delightful gem - Heartbreakers. I desperately wish Gene Hackman finds the love of his life as we discuss the basics of improv (only for a second), the art of coughing and Boy Meets World. Then I show him He's Just Not That Into You and over and over we are amazed he's never seen it. He's surprised by how deep the movie is for a seemingly shallow rom-com and the start studded cast (we're looking at you, Busy). We laugh, we cry, we talk about Rachel McAdams and I edit it out. I learned a lot and I had a great time. BYE FOREVER --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/minute-twenty4/support

Continuing the trend of actually reading books for the show, Jynx and Alisha have both read He's Just Not That Into You by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo. Based on an episode of Sex and the City, it was published in 2004, and went on to become a full-on phenomenon, but does it hold up all these years later? Or is already a relic of the past? Comedian, musician and co-author of He's Just Not That Into You, Greg Behrendt and his wife Amiira Ruotola explain why they believe so many women lower their standards when it comes to dating. Together, they share the biggest mistake women make in dating, what single men are really thinking and why it is important not to lower your personal standards. They also discuss their book It’s Just A F***ing Date.
Megan O returns to guest spot on a movie that can be used as instrumental advice for all the Teens out there: He's Just Not That Into You! While there were no actual teens in this movie, this should be treated as a 101 Guide on knowing when it's just not working and to bounce from a relationship. Topics include: self help books, Sex and the City similarities, pathetic relationship gameplay behavior, rules of attraction and relationship power dynamics, knowing that you're always the rule (not the exception), sociopaths cheating in offices, and woke badges on to discuss this movie not aging well in regards to treatment of women. Featuring Tips for the Kids, clips/music from the movie, MCITW (sponsored by Wicklow Wear), Ryan Phillippe Practice Hero Award of the Week, player breakdown, and MVP of the Week.

Sam, Brandon and Eli take their first look at He's Just Not That Into You, which stole the box office ten years ago. Myspace, racially insensitive jokes and misogyny all factor in to our discussion of how well the film holds up... not to mention, it's kind of boring. Next week, we'll be watching and dissecting the 2009 remake of "Friday The 13th" MUSIC:Intro/Outro - "A Jump Off" by John Powell from Jumper (2008)Intermission - "Resolution" by Jon Brion from ParaNorman (2012)
On our last episode without Eliza, we welcome Isabel's roommates and best friends, Cassie and Morgan! This week, we talk about the age old saying “He's Just Not That Into You,” young love, the #1 way to a girls heart, and we play an intense round of Red Flag or Dealbreaker.
The magical day has finally arrived for Bruce Wayne & Selina Kyle - they are to be joined in wedded bliss by writer Tom King and every artist under the DC Umbrella. Everyone is coming out for this big event! Are Batman & Catwoman meant to be together forever, or are these two creatures of the night destined for spinsterhood? On our final episode discussing the relationship between The Bat & The Cat, Brad & Lisa will answer that question using "He's Just Not That Into You" as their relationship guide. Ah, and neither guru is of the same mind on this one. We're sorry to say goodbye to Gotham City, but this has been one of our favorite couples on the series so far. Lots to unpack with these two, folks.

February feels like the perfect month to root around in one of the most twisted and dysfunctional relationships in comics - Bruce Wayne & Selina Kyle a.k.a. Batman & Catwoman. We love seeing them together, and we hate seeing them together. To kick this month's relationship series off, we're diving deep into a "not-so-classic" issue of "The Brave and The Bold" - #197, in which the Batman & Catwoman of Earth-2 battle the terrifying formula of The Scarecrow and find love in the process. In all honesty, we loved this single issue! To aid in our conversation surrounding Bruce & Selina, Brad & Lisa are using the bestselling relationship book "He's Just Not That Into You" by Greg Behrendt & Liz Tuccillo. After several months of questionable guides, we may have found a few tolerable gurus to lead us through the dark alleys of Gotham City.

Joe & Kristen welcome comedian/author Greg Behrendt (Walking the Room, He's Just Not That Into You) to the podcast. They also discuss the impact/influence of surf guitar pioneer Dick Dale and if he deserves a spot in the Hall. Things are capped off with a round of Identify the Popular Song in a Competitive Situation, this time with the 1001 Songs You Must Hear Before You Die.
We're just not that into this movie. Fun Fact: The moment we finished recording, I actually did throw up. The only good thing about 2009's evil demonic egg that is He's Just Not That Into You is that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Aniston are good in tit. Everyone else is terrible.

Comedian and author Greg Behrendt stopped by Dining Room Studios to talk about all sorts of things including the complicated effect being a consultant on Sex and The City had on his life and career and the way he spun out when fans of the book and cultural phenomenon he co-authored, He's Just Not That Into You, began showing up in droves at his comedy shows. Women wanted to hear him do a "TED talk about relationships" but he was there to do standup. We also discussed his decision to host a daytime talk show, getting diagnosed with cancer while on tour in Australia, fatherhood, drug addiction and the impact it's had on his marriage, Janeane Garafalo, Oprah, music, sobriety, podcasts, upcoming projects and so much more. We also took your questions over Twitter and did a round of Just Me Or Everyone.
Looking for a date this Valentine's Day? We're here for you! We offer you wine, cheese, and no obligation to call us the next day. So, stick us in your earbuds and let us whisper sweet nothings into your ears as we serenade you with the history of Valentine's Day, Tinder tips, first-date etiquette and why John Cusack standing outside your house at 5 a.m. is actually kind of creepy. This episode's wine: Weibel Family Peach Flavored Sparkling WineThis episode's cheese: St. Angel Triple Cream Brie and Mascarpone (the Vermont pronunciation) Emily is particularly punchy in this episode, in case you can't tell! It may have been the sparkling peach wine or her questioning her decisions that led to her going to Whole Foods on a Saturday for fancy cheese. For our listeners, we cut out about 10 minutes of orgasm sounds we had while eating from our amazing Valentine's Day spread. You're welcome! Emily talks about the history of Valentine's Day, including our favorite theme of Christians taking over Pagan holidays. Aside from the Roman version of "Seven Minutes in Heaven," let's just be happy we're living in modern times. James does his best to try a little Tinder-ness by talking about one of the most popular dating Apps of the moment. By the way, if you're looking for James on Tinder, he is the guy with the profile picture of pie! We also put out a call to action for listeners to send us pictures of their romantic nights listening to our podcast! DO IT! James and Emily also discuss some first-date etiquette ... or, at least the fake etiquette you should attempt. James gets some questions answered about what women really want on a date. Emily gets up on her feminist soapbox, but then gets right back down if the option of eating bon-bons in flattering skirts comes up. Emily gives some tips from the book, "He's Just Not That Into You." James doesn't quite understand why women need a book for this, but that's exactly why women need this book! If a guy isn't into you, don't waste your time. James talks about the benefits of remaining single, some ignoring Emily professing her love for pineapple and mascarpone. And the Coke vs. Pepsi fight continues! Emily gets to vent about her hatred of Disney princess movies! She also talks about things in romantic movies that are actually really creepy in real life, including the idea of Woody Allen as attractive. If a guy shows up to your house with a boom box ... be careful! Red flag! No woman actually wants the kinds of romantic gestures shown in movies. In James' words, "Just be cool, man." For this podcast, Dennis heads to West Hollywood to chat up the hilarious comedy duo Frangela, AKA Frances Callier and Angela V. Shelton about their adventures and misadventures in the comedy trade. They talk about racism in comedy clubs, what they've observed about today's youth from playing college gigs, what it took to get them on VH-1's "Best Week Ever," and the nightmare that was "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here." Al Roker goes down a little hard, Meryl Streep gets extra credit for being super cool, Clint Black makes a surprise cameo and Janice Dickinson gets let off the hook. Other topics include how they decided to go by the name Frangela, how they handle their disagreements and how they often convince producers to hire both of them instead of just one, like in the film, "He's Just Not That Into You."

Gregory started his stand-up career in San Francisco and later appeared on The Tonight Show and Late Night with Conan O'Brien and recorded a special for HBO and two for Comedy Central. He landed a job on Sex and the City as a script consultant that led him to co-authoring the New York Times best seller He's Just Not That Into You which later became a major motion picture. He also hosted the talk show the Greg Behrendt Show and Greg Behrendt's Wake-Up Call. He currently is back to doing stand up comedy and performing with his band the Reigning Monarchs.

This isn't one you're going to want to miss. Recorded: April 9th, 2014 Music: Robot Future by John Ruelas, Subtextual by Da7e Gonzales
This episode was recorded in San Francisco. Greg Behrendt in my mind is the quintessential San Franciscan. I met Greg when I first moved to San Francisco in 1991 and he is one of the nicest people I have ever met in the entertainment industry. Like most people in the business he has seen his ups and downs but that fact that his comedy contains the original spirit of joy and that he is not bitter makes him a champion. He was a writing consultant for 'Sex in The City' and went on to co write the book 'He's Just Not That Into You' which not only went on to be made into a movie but landed him on the Oprah Winfrey show and resulted in 'The Greg Behrendt Show'. It had been many years since I had seen him and we got to sit down to chat this past week while we were both performing in San Francisco. He is a perfect example of how to navigate a career following your heart instead of setting your clock by what show business thinks you should be doing with yourself. It's my pleasure to present to you the one and only Mr. Greg Behrendt.
The podcaster (Walking the Room), author (He's Just Not That Into You) and guitarist (The Reigning Monarchs) returns to discuss the mania, depression and paranoia that left him considering suicide in a Montreal hotel room.
