The Last Jedi was 8 years ago, and the media is still calling Star Wars fans "racists" because of Kelly Marie Tran, John Boyega and The Acolyte (like, all of it.) The media and Lucasfilm are using Kelly Marie Tran and John Boyega as scapegoats to push a false narrative that Star Wars fans are racist, despite the vast majority being unfairly vilified. Hollywood and the media are weaponizing identities and blaming fans for their own stupidity and dumb choices, rather than taking responsibility for failures like those of Lucasfilm and Marvel. The entertainment industry's constant attacks on fans and their personal opinions are tanking movies and shows because people anticipate "one of those things" pushing an agenda. The media and entertainment industry are regressing to the 1950s by constantly shoving identity politics and agendas down people's throats, unfairly labeling Star Wars fans as racist. The industry's need to change characters and stories to reflect actors' personal identities is ruining movies and shows by prioritizing actors' lives over storytelling. Kelly Marie Tran's attempt to tie her new movie to the Star Wars controversy is deemed ridiculous and attention-seeking, as nobody cares about her new project. The entertainment industry's actions are making people mad at each other and hating unfairly when they didn't before, creating unnecessary division among fans. Diversity and inclusion are being used as tools to push agendas and vilify certain groups, symptomatic of a larger problem in Hollywood and the media.

It's the podcast after Wondercon!Wondercon is Teebs's "regular season" before the "playoffs" of San Diego Comic Con this summer, so he was out for a little time doing important things. However, nerdery keeps going in Teebs's absence, and KidPhoenix always makes it his duty to keep Teebs abreast on things that he may have missed. There's the Star Wars news centered around Kathleen Kennedy stepping down and John Boyega's comments regarding the fandom. There's Marvel news concerning the reveal of the cast of Avengers: Doomsday -- which turned into a larger discussion about the Fantastic Four movie coming this summer and its parallels to the DC Studios Superman movie. But lastly, the discussion then shifts to Star Trek Voyager, with KidPhoenix sharing their fresh perspective on the series as they binge-watch for the first time since the series ended in 2001.Follow and subscribe to our YouTube page as well as our other social media pages.

In this episode of Visual Intonation, we meet Ibrahim K. Muhammad—a director, photographer, cinematographer, and editor who's redefining the boundaries of storytelling. Based in London, Ibrahim's journey began not with a formal film education, but with the lens of a mobile phone and a childhood passion for recreating 'Lego' movies. His path took him through the BRIT School and the University of Westminster, eventually leading him to co-direct his first short film, 'SHEEP', in 2019. Fast-forward to now, Ibrahim's journey has collided with global names like John Boyega and Converse, resulting in his latest short film, 'ONLY CHILD'. But how did this all start? In a Zoom call with Converse and other emerging filmmakers, Ibrahim found himself stepping into a world where creative potential meets unparalleled resources. The rest, as they say, is history. But Ibrahim's story isn't just about cameras and editing suites; it's about the power of storytelling itself. His work is a reflection of his deep connection to history, culture, and identity—elements that are woven into every frame he captures. Inspired by figures like Gordon Parks, whose work bridged the worlds of photography and social change, Ibrahim views his craft as a tool for manipulation, not just of light and shadow, but of reality itself. For him, photography and film are more than mediums—they're vehicles for creating truths that resonate far beyond the screen. In this episode, Ibrahim shares his insights on the evolution of his artistry, how he's shaping the future of visual storytelling, and the impact he hopes to leave on the world. This episode dives deep into Ibrahim's evolution—from weekly cinema visits with his dad to the visual mastery he commands today. We explore his love for photography, his influences from legends like David Fincher and Michel Gondry, and his unique take on visual storytelling. Get ready for a conversation about making art, breaking barriers, and finding your own voice in the ever-changing world of film. Ibrahim K. Twitter is a mistake... This week, Emily and V delve into the sordid, racist behavior of Reylos (Rey/Kylo Ren shippers) towards John Boyega (Finn) in the wake of Star Wars IX: The Rise of Skywalker, and how they weaponized their white femininity to excuse their actions. This is a tough, emotional topic, but the episode also explores just why Star Wars makes people so uniquely insane, possible reasons Disney fumbled TROS so badly, and that Kelly Marie Tran is an absolute treasure. Plus, an interlude about the terrible ending of The Baby-Sitters' Club canon. This episode would not be possible without the work of Stitch at Stitch's Media Mix for preserving tweets, Instagram comments, and videos related to the treatment of John, so special thank-you to Stitch. Join Mayowa, Tmt, and Koj for Episode 217 of Submarine and A Roach, Nigeria's #1 comedy podcast, as they uncover why "Joe Biden is #DaddyGoals." The episode kicks off with Mayowa sharing his experience at Craving Cottage catching Fulham vs Arsenal. Koj then takes a playful jab at other Nigerian podcasters, daring them to showcase their own valedictorians, as they celebrate Oluwatomilola Adeniran, PAU's best-graduating student and proud member of The Marine Kingdom. Next, the guys get into the SPAC Nation's Pastor Tobi Adegboyega (who for SEO reasons I might add is John Boyega's cousin), potentially getting deported from the U.K., and they also discuss Harvester's Pastor Bolaji Idowu, recently fingered in EFCC case (red card). This naturally spirals into a discussion about pastors, their "drip," and their spin-offs. Keeping things holy, they float the idea of turning Submarine and A Roach into a religious podcast, inspired by Spotify Wrapped data showing an explosion in religious and motivational podcasts among Nigeria's top 10. Is this a sign of the agbado? It's another episode filled with sharp commentary, laughs, and the kind of chaotic banter that only Submarine and A Roach can deliver.
