Summary: Today, Aydian and Mike interview Dr. Juliana Hauser, the doctor who jumps in those hard conversations as she helps people rethink and reimagine sex, sexuality, and relationships. Dr. Juliana tackles the hard questions about finding and honing your agency. Dr. Juliana, Mike, and Aydian discuss bringing men to the table regarding sex, sexuality, and body positivity in a safe environment. Top Take-Aways: What is the difference between empowerment and agency? Is it possible to have agency in some aspects of your life, but not in others? How do men fit in the world of sex and sexuality? How do men navigate the shame and guilt that is often associated with the feeling or perception of incompetence?
Dr. Juliana is a relationship and sex expert with a PhD in Counseling Education; a background in teaching gender studies and therapists at the graduate level; a licensed marriage and family / professional and practicing counselor herself. She says sex is the final chapter in personal development – I could not agree more! We learn how to talk, but rarely learn how to listen to feedback - that and more in this wonderful episode. Our sexuality is so much more than what we were taught. It is so much more than our sex acts. How does sex relate to everything else in your life? Let's talk about sexual agency. The power of having your own back. Let's talk about consent in a marriage and/or a long term relationship – a woman has sex with the partner because he wants to, but she really doesn't want to and just goes through the moves – - Is this consent? - Is she damaging her “desire” or rewiring her brain when she just goes through the motions? - “It's okay because it has always been okay is not good enough” How to receive communication – how to feel safe – we do a fun role play! How to have a conversation about sexual wants. There is always something underneath the ask. www.dr-juliana.com www.instagram.com/drjulianahauser Don't Forget your CME! https://earnc.me/j7Klfq
