Through her groundbreaking approach, "semioyoga," she explores the intricate connections between Kundalini Yoga and semiotics, guiding participants on introspective journeys that uncover the elements shaping personal narratives and self-communication. For the skimmers - What's in the yoga in Uruguay episode? What is semiotics? What is Kundalini yoga? Yoga teachers are people who need yoga You are not a goddess, you are an instrument Be careful of your spiritual ego, be humble! It's not about the results but about the process What to expect in the Yoga In Uruguay episode of the Wild Yoga Tribe Podcast  Sat Dyal Kaur, a yoga teacher from Uruguay, has created a unique practice called “semioyoga,” combining yoga and semiotics. Sat Dyal explains that semiotics is the study of meaning and how it relates to yoga, where both practices involve observation and exploration. She also emphasizes that yoga is a way of finding meaning and understanding oneself. The conversation delves into the purpose of teaching yoga, with Sat Dyal Kaur expressing her desire to share the blessings that she has experienced herself through yoga. The need for humility among yoga teachers and the dangers of spiritual ego is also a focus of the conversation. Both Lily and Sat Dyal Kaur highlight that yoga teachers are not above others but are continuously learning and sharing their experiences. Sat Dyal Kaur beautifully defines yoga as life and love. She suggests that yoga is a way of living, knowing oneself, and shifting the focus from external distractions to internal exploration. Kundalini Yoga: The Flow Of Spiritual Energy

A Quest for Well-Being

— Kundalini Yoga, known as “the Yoga of awareness,” is an ancient technology for awakening the life force lying dormant within each one of us. Conceptualized as a sleeping serpent, coiled up at the base of our spine, this latent source of primordial energy is mobilized through the actions and components of the kriyas that lie at the heart of Kundalini Yoga practice. A Kriya is a sequence of physical movements or postures that often include pranayam (breathwork), mantras (sacred syllables), mudras (hand positions), bandhas (body locks), as well as eye focus and angular positions to awaken, direct and contain the flow of this spiritual energy within. The benefits of Kundalini Yoga are felt on both the physical and the etheric planes, since as that dormant force arises, it strengthens our vitality and sense of well-being, while simultaneously expanding our consciousness and enhancing our capacity for joy and fulfillment through divine union—the ultimate goal of all Yogas. As such, it is both a therapeutic, as well as a highly potent spiritual system, culminating in our awakening and transformation. Our moods, attitudes and general outlook on life are related to the light that shines forth from within us. In Kundalini Yoga, we call it radiance. Valeria Teles interviews Karuna Kundalini — Devoted Mother, Daughter, Sister, Friend, Coach, Speaker and Teacher Bringing Compassion, Enthusiasm And Pure Joy To Every Kundalini Yoga Practice A devoted mother, daughter, sister, friend and teacher, Karuna brings her own unique brand of compassion, enthusiasm and pure joy to every Kundalini Yoga practice. One of most fundamental and common breathing practices within yoga is the long, slow, deep breathing pattern. In a number of studies of yoga practice, slow yogic breathing has been a practice that beginners often immediately begin to adopt and benefit from in their daily lives as a valuable coping and health strategy. It has also made its way into modern Western medicine as a fairly well know relaxation practice referred to as slow breathing, abdominal breathing or belly breathing. Biomedical scientific research on slow breathing has begun to reveal the substantial impact it has on both mental and physical functioning. On the physical level, it has direct impact on the autonomic nervous system, where it can reduce sympathetic activity, blood pressure and heart rate and increase heart rate variability. It can also change characteristics of respiratory functioning including changes in the chemoreflex response and improvement in gas exchange. Slow breathing research is also showing direct impact on the central nervous system, with positive changes in stress, emotion and pain regulation. Clinical research is beginning to show its efficacy in disorders such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and hypertension. Britt Deanda & Tara Schulenberg are back on after their first appearance on the podcast four years ago. Jordan just happened to be calling in a Kundalini guide to learn more about the ancient practice, and the universe sent her this incredible light-filled duo. Now they have been dear friends for many years.  Since their first show, they’ve birthed so many spiritual gifts for the community. From Elevate the Globe, a wellness hub that helps activate your emotional body and tap into higher consciousness through Kundalini and spirituality. To their recently published book, “Good Morning Intentions,” which they conceived in the most magical and mystical of ways. They discuss their rituals in great depth and unpack the energetics behind each of their teachings. Their powerful ability to break down an ancient practice into digestible chunks without sacrificing the authenticity of the original teachings (The Kundalini Research Institute approves of their book) is so inspiring.  This episode is a true voyage into the vortex! They discuss visions, auras, colors, energies and reveal how their psychic abilities have developed during their spiritual awakening. They also chat about the 5th dimension and personal experiences of darkness on the physical plane to reach a place of hope, higher healing, and light!  Most importantly, this episode is an invitation to have fun with spirituality, surrender to Source and be playful wherever you can! After all, it’s not about the destination; it’s about the journey. Or, as Tara so eloquently puts it, “the act of surrendering is not giving up, but allowing the energy to flow through you so that you can experience something beyond what you were ever able to conjure up or imagine.” Thanks to https://www.sakara.com/pages/balanced (Sakara Life) for sponsoring this episode. Two weeks ago, with heartache swirling in my soul, I sought refuge at the Guru Ram Das Ashram in Portugal. After days of chanting mantras, performing seva (selfless service), and doing kundalini yoga, I was granted an audience with the founder of the ashram, acclaimed spiritual teacher Shiv Charan Singh and took the opportunity to create this podcast for you. On the show we talk about how an ashram is both a holding container for spiritual crisis and a pressure cooker for transformation. We discuss Shiv’s life and why he chose the spiritual vehicles of Sikhism and kundalini yoga. We talk about how loving yourself means remembering that you are already loved and finally how to see the whole world as an ashram, and whether life really is a festival. Shiv is the founder of the Guru Ram Das Ashram and the Karam Kriya School in Quinta do Rajo, Portugal. He has written a number of books and developed an applied science of numerology called Karam Kriya. Shiv studied with Yogui Bhajan, the founder of Sikh Dharma in the West and serves on the board of the Kundalini Research Institute. Not to put too fine a point on it, but it turns out that life isn’t only a festival… it can also be an ashram. A few years ago I overheard a couple of women talking about how Kundalini changed their lives. Devine feminine energy, breath of fire, kriyas, and all that other stuff. At the time all I knew about Kundalini was what I had seen as a child. People in the park dressed in white loose clothing with big turbans wrapped around their head, chanting and signing. Even sometimes dancing. Well it's come a long way since then and so have I. Brought to the west from India in the late 1960's Kundalini is having a revival of sorts and there couldn't be a better time! It has been called "The Yoga of awareness," and is said to ignite powerful transformation and even lead to spiritual awakenings. Look what it did for Gabby Bernstein....plus it can give you amazing abs, lol. Just ask Gwyneth, Jennifer, Gisele, or Seal. But what is it really? In this episode I sit down with International Kundalini teacher and founder of LightHouse Yoga Center, Julie Eisenberg (ERYT-500) to explain and demystify what Kundalini yoga really is and what you can expect. From reducing anxiety and the science behind the benefits to our digestive health, to personal awareness and transformation of mind, body, and soul. Kundalini yoga can boost your immune system, bring you back to balance and you don't need to know any yoga poses or even be flexible to enjoy the benefits. This delightful interview will leave you feeling informed, optimistic and motivated to ignite your own self care journey. (Yogui Bhajan, Praana Praanee Pranayama. Kundalini Research Institute. Pág.66)
