According to LinkedIn, 71% of small to mid-sized businesses use social media for marketing purposes. Among those businesses, 52% post content at least once per day. Facebook reportedly has over 10 times more brand engagement than other social media platforms. In fact, about 200 million social media users visit at least one business profile per day. Luke Lintz is a serial entrepreneur who started his first e-commerce business at the age of 16, after stepping out of an economics class. Within 90 days, he sold his entire inventory worth $8,000, generating an ROI of 375%. Today, he is the founder and CEO of HighKey Enterprises LLC, a Puerto Rico-based company that specializes in digital branding and helps businesses become famous. Luke believes that entrepreneurs should focus their energy on the areas where they can make the biggest impact. He thinks that value is not a commodity but a quality that is essential for great purpose, companies, and people. During his sophomore year in high school, Luke and his older brother Jordan Lintz started HighKey Technology Inc., an e-commerce site that sold futuristic tech. They invested $8,000 of their own money into HighKey's 1.0 wireless earbuds, after noticing a problem no one was trying to solve. Within three months, the innovative brand building helped Luke's social media presence explode, and the investment generated over $38,000 in revenue - an ROI of over 375%. HighKey Technology Inc. evolved and attracted Stefan Aarnio, an award-winning real estate investor and shark, who brought unrivaled sales training and leadership. Stefan trusted Luke and Jordan to take full control of his social media presence, and as a result, HighKey Agency Inc., a full-service social media, and PR agency was born. With multiple companies under his belt, Luke's entrepreneurial vision shifted, and his e-commerce brand and social media agency established themselves as emerging forces in the North American market.  Younger brother Jackson Lintz joined the ownership structure, allowing Luke to focus his entrepreneurial vision elsewhere.   Instagram @lukelintz

River Roots Barrel Company, out of Cleveland, Ohio, has been making some serious waves in the whiskey world. Their hazmat proof bottlings on Seelbach's flew off the virtual shelves, and the upcoming port barrel bourbon is on my to-do list as soon as it's live.  As always, though, there's more to the story, including partnerships with barrel brokers and celebrity chef Michael Symon. At first glance, River Roots seems like an independent bottler, but they're really doing more than that. Like Lost Lantern and some of Gene Nassif's work, they're blending, finishing, and playing with the bourbon, with great results so far.  The Cuhayoga River once caught fire - we know it, they know it - here's hoping River Roots, with the Cleveland crew, keeps catching fire as well. There's lots of good whiskey that will come from it.  Thanks everyone for listening, and thank you to Ryan for entering the Whiskey Ring! _________________________________________________________ Before we jump into the interview just a few quick notes: Ad-free listening is now available to $5/month patrons and above! Sign up or raise your pledge at the link below.  The first three WRP barrel picks are in! The Jack Daniel's Barrel Proof Ryes are SOLD OUT, and the Barrell Rye Finished in Armagnac Casks is now live! Patreon members get an exclusive discount for the Jack Daniel's barrels and free shipping for the Barrell pick - now's the time to up that subscription or join the Patreon if you haven't already! Our Spirits of French Lick barrel pick is done! I won't spoil the surprise, only saying it is one of only 9 or 10 barrels ever made of this whiskey (and ours will be the first to come out!) $25 members get the chance to join me on picks: one of your fellow Patreon members joined me in Lynchburg, one was on the Spirits of French Lick team, and I'll be picking one or more for the KO pick once samples come in! There are now two more spots open in the Barrel Club and 10 spots open at the $15 level for those who want to experience more of the whiskies I get to try every month (or every other month).  Join the Patreon now for early access to the barrels! If you haven't joined the Patreon community yet, please consider doing so! Only 2 Spots Remain in the Barrel Club. The $5 tier has access to the Patreon-only segment called “Under the Influencer”, where some of your favorite YouTubers/Instagrammers/Podcasters and more join me to talk whiskey, life, and influencing. This tier will also have priority access to upcoming barrel picks and shortly will have access to ad-free episodes.  The $15 tier takes second access to the $25 tier with 10 spots divided into two: 5 for people who want to receive samples every other month, and 5 for people who want to receive them every month but in smaller numbers.  The $25 tier - for people who really want to propel the pod and website forward - will have the same benefits as the $5 tier plus right of first refusal to join me on future barrel picks, access to bottles I'm sent to taste and review, and more. Only 2 spots remain!  You can still support for as little as $1 a month if you'd like to stay up to date with these changes and news about what we've got coming up.  Finally, please do like and subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you're listening - it really helps the Whiskey Ring Podcast move up the rankings.  If you haven't yet, please follow Whiskey in my Wedding Ring and the Whiskey Ring Podcast on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, and subscribe to the newsletter on the website.  River Roots Barrel Company River Roots Barrel Company Website River Roots Barrel Company on Instagram River Roots Barrel Company on Facebook Thanks to our Lead Sponsor, Black Button Distillery  Black Button Distilling Website Black Button Distilling on Facebook Black Button Distilling on Instagram Thanks to our Presenting Sponsor, ImpEx Beverages https://impexbev.com ImpEx on Instagram ImpEx on Facebook ImpEx on Twitter

Numerous research articles point to the reliability of different approaches in conventional X-ray and cone beam CT, showcasing the reliability of WBCT in hindfoot alignment assessment. As the dialogue around these advancements intensifies, the overarching query resonates within the medical community: How does this technological leap influence the accuracy and efficacy of orthopedic diagnostics and treatment? In this second of a two-part CurveBeam AI Cast series hosted by Dr. Lew Schon, MD, a renowned Orthopedic Surgeon and Director of Innovation at Mercy Medical Center and Professor at John Hopkins University and NYU Langone, continues his conversation with Dr. Francois Lintz, MD, an esteemed Orthopedic Foot & Ankle Surgeon and past President of the International WBCT Society. In this second conversation, Dr. Schon and Dr. Lintz look deeper into the groundbreaking advancements of 3D imaging and the benefits of WBCT.Highlights from Dr. Schon and Lintz's second conversation include:• Dr. Lintz's pursuit of expanding 3D biometric principles beyond the foot and ankle to encompass the entire lower limb, alongside standardizing these principles through an initiative called the “scanner's endeavor”• The introduction of a visualization tool known as “distance mapping” enabling a more nuanced analysis of joint space width, aiding in the differentiation between ligament laxity and early arthritis• The innovative exploration into bone density as a “fourth dimension” in orthopedic imaging, opening doors to more precise diagnosis and treatment planning

Today's podcast features Seth Lintz, a pitching performance coach, based out of Scottsdale, Arizona.  Seth was a second-round pick in the 2008 MLB draft, carrying a maximal fastball speed of 104mph.  Known as the “Pitching Doctor” on his social media accounts, Seth has trained over a dozen individuals to break the 100mph barrier in the past 2 years, using a progressive training system that combines a priority on neuro-muscular efficiency with intuitive motor learning concepts. Of all the high velocity activities humans can do, throwing a ball at high speed is the “fastest”, and is a truly special skill worth studying.  Within a high-speed throw comes critical use of elasticity, explosiveness, levers, and fine-tuned coordination of one's movement options.  Seth is a coach who has a very high-level, innate feel for all of the factors it takes for a human being to achieve extreme throwing velocities, connecting elements of physical performance with skill acquisition, while integrating the all-important role of the mind. On the podcast today, Seth shares details from his early immersion in throwing mechanics, gives his take on the mental elements and kinesthetic, feeling-based elements of throw training.  On the training end, he talks about the ability to “surge” and change speeds within a movement, the use of different training speeds, from super slow to over-speed, and developmental aspects of throwing with different weights and objects.  Within the show, many connections are made to sprinting and human locomotion, and this is an episode that coaches from baseball to track, and in the spaces in-between, can find helpful in their process. Today's episode is brought to you by SimpliFaster, Lost Empire Herbs, and the Elastic Essentials online course. For 15% off your Lost Empire Herbs order, head to lostempireherbs.com/justfly. Timestamps and Main Points: 3:34 – Details of Seth's early start as an athlete, and his study of frame by frame pictures of Nolan Ryan and Pedro Martinez 11:49 – Thoughts on using visual references and positions in early athletic performance training, versus letting athletes build their technique off of instinct 20:50 – The mental element, and mental picture needed for an athlete to break velocity throwing barriers 24:26 – The critical skill of being able to feel in one's own body, what a coach is trying to communicate visually 32:57 – Discussing the importance of different utilized speeds in high velocity training, from over-speed to extreme slow, and associating feeling with various velocities 39:22 – How athletes having too much awareness, or watching too much video of their throw, can actually present a problem in the learning process 44:42 – Tempo and “surges” of velocity in a fast throw 53:07 – Using different tools, weighted balls, and objects in nature to help an athlete connect to the feeling of intention in a throw, and the developmental boost that comes with it “Whenever I look at my throw now, I try to look for the kid in my throw” “With intent, your body will find its most efficient way to produce power at that given time” “Humans are infinitely capable at birth, and that moment is when the limitation process begins.  Everything they see from that moment forward is limiting them from what they believe to be possible” “For humans, throwing is an evolved skill for both hunting and safety (fighting)” “What your body is doing, and what you feel like it is doing are often two different things” “A mental picture is not a single faceted thing, it is your mental relationship to throwing, because when you have a mental picture, it gives you a feeling too… it should at least” “Anytime you are planning, you are slowing down… that's the job of a coach,

You value your time pretty highly, right? That's part of why you listen to How I Work - you're trying to get the most out of what precious time you have, whether it's a matter of getting more done when you're in the office, or freeing yourself from distraction when you're with your family. So you'd hope others value your time just as much - and therefore, you need to show others how much you value their time, especially if you're hoping to use some of it. This is the underlying principle in all of Janice Lintz's cold reachouts: whether she's writing a letter to the queen or trying to sort out her phone bill, Janice knows people want to protect their time. Janice Lintz is a hearing loss consultant and accessibility advocate, so when she wants to speak with someone, it's pretty damn important. But she recognises that if she's going to ask for someone else's time, she needs to demonstrate that it's worth her time, too. Enter the rule of fours. When the late, legendary activist Vernon Jordan finally answered Janice's phone call on the fourth attempt, he told her he only answered because she called so many times!Janice shares why this rule of four is so powerful, and explains how to apply the methodology to other parts of your work. Connect with Janice on Twitter or LinkedIn You can find the full interview here: Janice Lintz teaches you how to be heard by people who don't want to listen***My new book Time Wise is out now. Time and time again, studies have shown that math and science are perceived to be male arenas and that scientists are perceived to be predominantly men. To advance more women into STEM fields, not only do women need to know about the career options available to them but they need to believe its possible for them to have a fulfilling career in these fields. A 2019 study published in Frontier Education found that gender-science stereotypes of math and science influence young women's and men's aspirations to enrol in a STEM major at university. For example, by showing adverts for STEM careers that feature men and women, and promoting a less masculine image of science in university recruitment efforts has the potential to increase the likelihood of STEM career aspirations for young women and young men. It stands to reason that the more exposure young people have to STEM the more likely they are to view STEM as a potential career path, whether they are male, female or any other gender. On this podcast we are excited to have with us the CEO of Girls Who Code, Dr. Tarika Barrett and UScellular's Vice President of Enterprise Portfolio Management and Technology Shared Services, Denise Lintz. They will share how they are tackling increasing children's access to STEM education and why awareness of STEM career paths is critical to advancing diversity in STEM.   Girls Who Code USCellular Dr.Tarika Barrett

This episode is a little different.  Janice was referred to me by former guest Dr. Ruth Gotian (Ep. 117). Janice is not a veteran, but oh my she has a lot of wisdom to share! We walk international travel (she's been to well over 100 countries) and the massively important work she does for people who are hard of hearing.  Janice shares how she got the Queen of England to act, why CEOs respond to her emails, and how we can all realize we have a lot more power than we think.  HAI – Hearing Access & InnovationsJaniceLintz (@JaniceLintz) / TwitterJanice (Schacter) Lintz | LinkedInOne Woman Who Helps Millions Of People She Will Never Meet (forbes.com)

Nobody hears from Janice Lintz just once. Whether she's chasing down information on her phone bill or chasing down the Queen of England, Janice doesn't stop until she gets what she needs, and she believes others can benefit from that kind of tenacity.  It's reflected in a lesson Janice learned from the great civil rights activist, Vernon Jordan - don't answer the phone until someone calls you the fourth time. If it's not worth their time, it's certainly not worth yours. So Janice calls again. And again, and again.  As a hearing access consultant and consumer advocate, Janice's requests aren't merely boxes that need ticking; they're often the only way people who are hard of hearing are able to experience what everyone else takes for granted. That's why productivity and efficiency are so important to Janice. She simply doesn't have time to waste.  Connect with Janice on Twitter or LinkedIn *** Connect with me on the socials: Linkedin Twitter Instagram    If you're looking for more tips to improve the way you work, I write a fortnightly newsletter that contains three cool things I have discovered that help me work better, which range from interesting research findings through to gadgets I am loving. Janice Lintz is a passionate, accomplished hearing loss consultant and advocate. She is the CEO of Hearing Access & Innovations, the leading company dedicated to helping the world's businesses, cultural and entertainment institutions, government agencies, and mass transit organizations improve their accessibility for people with hearing loss. Since 2002, Janice has become the global “go-to” person on all matters related to access for people who are deaf or hard of hearing. Equipped with an undergraduate degree in business, a law degree, and experience as a successful litigator, Janice leverages her broad background to articulate compelling business cases for organizations in both the for-profit and not-for-profit worlds to improve hearing access for customers with hearing loss. A culture lover, Janice felt her heart sink whenever her daughter – diagnosed with hearing loss at 2 ½ – struggled to understand museum guides and actors on stage, even with hearing aids. Not one to wait, Janice plunged into the research and learned that cultural venues could provide better hearing access with relatively standard technology, such as the induction loop, a coil placed around a room that wirelessly transmits amplified sound to a hearing aid. Janice works with domestic and international organizations to benchmark best practices and helps clients leverage the most effective solutions for their situations. Working with multiple organizations, she helped the NYC Transit recommend that induction loops be included in all NYC subway information booths and call boxes as part of President Obama's $13.5 million Stimulus Package. She also worked with the NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission to implement this same technology in all taxis. New York City is the first United States city to offer this technology in its transit systems. The New York City resident and mother of two is a 2023 Harvard Kennedy School MC/MPA Candidate, 2021 Tell Her She Can't Changemaker, and 2018 The Points Guy + Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Goalkeepers Partnership Travel Grant Recipient. Janice is also a Consumer Education/Travel/Food writer. Thrive Global, The Outdoor Journal, Forbes/Lifestyle, Forbes Woman Africa, Yahoo Travel, Huffington Post, Johnny Jet, and Consumer Mojo published her articles. She has traveled to 139+3 UN countries and 194 Travelers' Century Club destinations and is on a quest to visit every country in the world. The difference between a problem and a solution is action. It may sound simple, but most of the time, it isn't. It requires motivation, commitment, determination, an open mind, and the will to tackle the issue from different angles. Until you find the one that works well enough.Suppose this is true, and it is, for each problem; it is even more so when we talk about disabilities, diversity, inclusion, and how our societies have dealt with them since the dawn of time: there is a place for diversity, but that place is not with the majority, not in the system that works for most.Change requires efforts, understanding, solutions, determination, and ultimately the policymakers' desire and commitment to make it happen.Today out guest told us her story of how you can start the process and eventually make such change happen__ spoiler alert, she is still fighting for it every day.In this podcast, we talk about hearing access, disabilities, innovations, policies, and Society.
