We look at scares throughout the ages, ‘Blair Witch' producer Gregg Hale joins us … plus Blaine Krauss from ‘Hamilton' tells what it's like to play the big man and our weekly Top 10 Colorado Headliners   In this jam-packed episode of the OnStage Colorado Podcast, hosts Alex Miller and Toni Tresca look at all the spooky happenings going on this month on Colorado stages and take a deep dive into the origins of people scaring people. From stories from ancient Romans to Get Out, what's behind the appeal to be scared?   For this discussion we also have a special guest: Gregg Hale, the producer of 1999's bonkers-scary Blair Witch Project. Gregg offers some insight into what made the film resonate so strongly and how it came into being. Later in the podcast, Alex catches up with Blaine Krauss, who can be seen on stage at the Denver Center in the touring production of Hamilton. After understudying both Hamilton and Aaron Burr, Krauss is in the big man's shoes, and he talks about how he got here and how he views the relationship between the two historic figures.   And as usual we run down our Top 10 Colorado Headliners — shows or events we think you should keep an eye out for if you have a chance to see them. Thanks to our fans who listen on iHeart! We are so grateful for the extra love from them! Dan kicks off this weeks show with a doozy! Neither are normal when it comes to subject matter. No ghosts today. No demons. No shadow people or even cryptids. Both have an extraterrestrial spin to them. The first deals with a woman in the late 1960s encountering something horrifying and seemingly not of this world. It's a very strange story. Then, a series of encounters with UFOS, and possibly extraterrestrial beings as well, spotted around Russia, primarily back in 1989 when it was still the USSR. Lynze gives us a creepy but also funny tale about a haunted item brought home from GoodWill. Then she shares a story that we suspect ties to Native American Folklore. Street Team 2024: September 16th at 12 noon PT is when the stickers go live on our website- BADMAGICPRODUCTIONS.COM. The concept of a Wendigo, a malevolent spirt that can cause someone to become an insatiable cannibal is a part of Algonquin Folklore that is both part cryptid and part culture-bound syndrome.  While the concept has entered the vernacular of the western world with horror movies and stories depicting it, it stems from the Algonquin culture where the threat of starvation in the winter woods was a very real thing.  The tales help to steer society away from greed and account for the potentially very real possibility of resorting to cannibalism in times of extreme need.  Take a listen as we discuss the legend of the Wendigo.

Many people say that Pocomoonshine lake is a beautiful lake in Princeton, a northeastern town in Maine. But it became really notorious in the 1800s when witnesses claimed that a large creature lived in the lake. A giant snake, 30-60 feet long and 4 feet wide. And though a snake that large seems quite unbelievable, the story actually stems from Native American Folklore, specifically in a battle between giant snakes. So, could there really be a giant snake in Maine? Or maybe there's another explanation? But either way, join us for this short and sweet paranormal story! Stay safe out there. Trey Hudson joined me to talk about his research on a classified paranormal hotspot and his new book named "the meadow project explorations into the south's skinwalker ranch", because it parallels the activity at other paranormal hotspots around the world. In this podcast we talk about instances where he and his team have encountered parallel realities, different dimensions, UFO's, Men In Black, Cryptids, Orbs, spirit activity, Native American Folklore and we also talked about the legendary Brad Steiger and how this was what motivated Trey to get in the field of studying the paranormal. This was a really fun show, and definitely a new paranormal hotspot. Mr. Bunker's Conspiracy Time Podcast

Research begins at 47:08An ancient folklore tale of an evil spirit that drives its victims to cannibalism! Or maybe that’s just Andy and Art’s personalities - it’s tough to say! But what isn’t tough to say is that Wendigos are an interesting piece of Native American mythology. And what also isn't tough to say is the word “friendship”. That’s why Andy and Art invited none other than Bunker lore experts and annual guests - Ian and Natalie Hamilton - to come help us serve the whole enchilada on Wendigos. Thanks to John Hendrix for the topic!Andy and Art are NOT captured once again by the titular Mr. Bunker - where was he seen this time? Also Ian and Natalie serve Andy and Art the whole enchilada on their Bunker network notes. In the second segment, Andy, Art, Ian, and Natalie give you, the listeners, an uninterrupted presentation of their research into Wendigos. Finally, Andy, Art, Ian, and Natalie discuss fisher cats, wolf dong, department stores, and so much more!Send us your thoughts to @MrBunkerPod and mrbunkerpod@gmail.com using the hashtag #WakeMeUpBeforeYouWendigoGoMusic by Michael MartelloArtwork by Hannah RossAudio Editing by Arthur StoneFollow Us:PatreonTwitterInstagramWebsiteYoutubeLinks Mentioned:Wendigo - WikipediaTag Archives: windigo psychosis - Mohawk Nation News Windigo, the Ice Cannibal (Wendigo, Wiindigoo, Windgo, Windego) - Native Languages The Myth of the Wendigo | Brave New World - Penn State Wendigo – Flesheater of the Forests – Legends of America - Legends of America Backstory - "The Mythology and Misrepresentation of the Windigo"Meet The Wendigo, A Cannibalistic Creature From Indigenous Lore - All Thats Interesting Wendigo Psychosis: the Probably Fake Disease that Turns People into Cannibals - GizmodoEarly Psychosis and Psychosis - NAMISasquatch or Wendigo?
