La Banque mondiale dresse un constat a priori paradoxal : la production de nourriture a presque doublé au cours des deux dernières décennies sur le continent africain, le commerce de produits alimentaires a lui été multiplié par cinq. Pourtant, l'insécurité alimentaire est en progression constante. En cause essentiellement selon l'organisation : des chaînes d'approvisionnement peu efficaces. Routes chaotiques, point de passages frontaliers congestionnés et barrières tarifaires, ont de gros impacts, relève le rapport. C'est aussi ce dont témoigne à Kolwezi, en RDC, Philippe Seneve, le président du comité des transporteurs à la Fédération des entreprises congolaises. « Je vous donne un exemple très simple pour comprendre. En ce qui concerne les frais de transport, nous prenons la tonne à 145 $ entre Kolwezi et Ndola en Zambie. Nous prenons trente tonnes. Nous sommes aux environs de 4 400 $. Dans ces 4 400 $, il y a 2 200 $ qui ne constituent que les charges de péage entre les deux pays. C'est la moitié », explique Philippe Seneve. Pour compenser, « le transporteur est obligé de faire des manœuvres pour avoir un peu de bénéfice, payer les chauffeurs, payer les carburants et c'est ce qui justifie que nos prix sont beaucoup plus élevés. On le regrette. Ce sont les consommateurs congolais qui payent la lourde facture », poursuit-il. Un outil pour prioriser les infrastructures stratégiques Sur le continent, les produits alimentaires parcourent environ 4 000 km, et leur acheminement prend dix fois plus de temps que dans les régions développées du monde. Conséquences : surcoûts importants et pertes de denrées périssables. Il faut donc améliorer les chaînes d'approvisionnement. Pour cela, la Banque mondiale a travaillé avec un nouvel outil. « Il y a presque deux millions de kilomètres de routes en Afrique et avec ce modèle que l'on a pu construire, on est capable d'identifier quels vont être les 10 000 km les plus pertinents pour relier les agriculteurs africains au marché, pour amener des engrais, des semences, explique Nicolas Peltier-Thiberge, le directeur global des transports de l'institution. On a pu identifier dix ports, une vingtaine de postes frontières et également une vingtaine de corridors de transport qui sont particulièrement importants pour la sécurité alimentaire. » Plus d'un tiers des récoltes sont également perdues faute de lieux de stockage. La Côte d'Ivoire, consciente de cette problématique, est très active en la matière. « C'est un écosystème qu'il faut bâtir. C'est une question de promotion. Il y a une question d'attractivité aussi des investisseurs, voir les coûts de rentabilité. Je peux vous assurer que construire une villa sur 1 000 m² dans un quartier de luxe comme à Cocody est moins rentable mis en location qu'un entrepôt sur 1 000 m² au moins trente fois moins rentable », met en avant Justin N'goran Koffi, le directeur de l'Autorité de régulation des récépissés d'entreposage. Des initiatives ont été prises notamment avec la Zlecaf « pour qu'avec Afreximbank, il y ait des investissements massifs dans la construction d'entrepôts de toutes formes dans les zones de production ». Le coût des transports peut représenter près de la moitié du prix final de certains produits alimentaires. Réduire de 10% ces coûts, pourrait accroître de 25% les échanges et serait bénéfique à la lutte contre l'insécurité alimentaire et permettrait de stimuler les économies régionales.

En entrevista para MVS Noticias con Manuel López San Martín, el Dr. Víctor Hugo Espíndola, jefe del grupo de análisis del Servicio Sismológico Nacional, habló sobre los microsismos en la CDMX. Espíndola destacó que, poco antes de la 1 a.m., se registró el microsismo de mayor magnitud, con un valor de 2.9. "Posteriormente se registró otro de 2.2, además de seis sismos menores a 2", explicó. Los epicentros de estos movimientos han sido en áreas como Narvarte y Nápoles, originándose por "cuestiones tectónicas en toda la región poniente de la CDMX". El especialista también mencionó que esta actividad sísmica no es nueva, recordando que "hemos sido testigos desde mayo del año pasado". En diciembre, se observó un patrón similar que fue asociado con la falla de Mixcoac. “Es sismicidad asociada a un complejo de fallas, no solo a una”, advirtió, sugiriendo que la actividad podría seguir siendo "singular" en las próximas semanas. ¿Cuántos microsismos van en la CDMX hoy 26 de septiembre? Hasta el momento, se han contabilizado alrededor de 13 microsismos en el día, con algunos más pequeños que no han sido reportados debido a su magnitud mínima. "En diciembre del año pasado hubo una actividad similar; pasa el tiempo y disminuye, pero luego puede activarse. No podemos predecirlo", enfatizó Espíndola. El Dr. Espíndola también se refirió a sismos recientes en Naucalpan, señalando que “son fallas al poniente del Valle de México”. En la región, los sismos de estas magnitudes se sienten de manera local. "Otra falla paralela es en Mixcoac, sismos de estas magnitudes se sienten, pero en corto tiempo", comentó. ¿Por qué no se sintió en la CDMX el sismo de Guerrero? Respecto al sismo de 5.2 en Guerrero, explicó que este es característico de esa región. "El rompimiento de estas fallas está dentro de la de Cocos, y se origina a 50 kilómetros de profundidad. Las magnitudes generan alertas, pero el tipo de subsuelo en la CDMX puede hacer que en algunas áreas se sienta y en otras no", aclaró. Finalmente, Espíndola subrayó que el Servicio Sismológico Nacional no es responsable de la alerta sísmica, aunque especuló que podría estar "vinculada con las magnitudes" de los sismos reportados.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Join us as we discuss what it was like immigrating to the United States, joining the Marine Corps, mentoring others within the non-profit space, and now sharing the stories of fellow women Marines (and men, too) through her podcast The Green Logbook. Zarina Flemming was born on 24 December 1986 in Ndola, Zambia. She enlisted in the Marine Corps in December 2007. After graduating from recruit training, she attended Personnel Administrative School. Later, she reported to the Combined Arms Training Center in Camp Fuji, Japan, and served as a unit diary clerk. In November 2009, she reported to Marine Corps Detachment, Fort Lee, Virginia, where she served as an administrative clerk. In December 2010, she reported to Headquarters and Support Battalion, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, where she served as a manpower clerk. In July 2012, Flemming reported to 2d Marine Logistics Group Headquarters, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, where she served as a manpower and adjutant clerk. In July 2013, she deployed as the S-1 Non-commissioned officer in charge of Combat Logistics Battalion 6 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. In March 2014, she volunteered for the Marine Corps experimental unit, transitioning women to combat arms MOS. In July 2015, Flemming reported to the Installation Personnel Administrative Center, New River, North Carolina, where she served as the Quality Control and Inbound Chief. In August 2016, Flemming reported to the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit, New River, North Carolina, where she served as the S-1/Adjutant Chief. In August 2023, she reported to 3d Marine Logistics Group, Okinawa, Japan, to serve as the Adjutant Chief. On 2 April 2024, she reported to 3d Sustainment Group (Experimental), Okinawa, Japan, where she currently serves as the Unit Senior Enlisted Advisor for Supply Company. She earned degrees from Texas Woman's University and Indiana University South Bend. In turn, load shedding measures have been put in place very abruptly and with extreme measures. Clearly these challenges present us with an invitation to come up with new ways of living. She earned degrees from Texas Woman's University and Indiana University South Bend. Lumbie made the decision to carry on her orphaned father's legacy after being inspired by the humanitarian work he did in his neighborhood despite never having attended school. She established the nonprofit organization JB Dondolo, after her father, with the goal of facilitating marginalized people' access to vital natural resources.
