Ukraine's Covert Drone Strike on Russia's Nuclear Bombers – In a bold operation dubbed “Spider Web,” Ukraine smuggles explosive-laden drones into Russia disguised as backyard sheds, damaging up to 40 nuclear-capable bombers. The strike signals a new era in covert drone warfare and offers a chilling preview of what China might replicate on U.S. soil. Drone Warfare and Port Vulnerabilities Raise U.S. Security Concerns – Bryan connects Ukraine's tactics to vulnerabilities in U.S. ports, especially Chinese-built cranes embedded with suspect electronics. He warns that the threat of Trojan-horse-style drone attacks is now a domestic risk, not just a foreign battlefield tactic. China's Rare Earth Blackmail Threatens U.S. Auto Industry – Despite Trump's tariff rollbacks, China is withholding critical rare earth exports, putting U.S. vehicle production on the brink. Trump responds by suspending Chinese student visas and weighing further retaliatory measures. Defense Secretary Warns: Taiwan Invasion “Could Be Imminent” – At the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth warns that China is training daily for a Taiwan assault. He urges U.S. readiness and tells Europe to focus on Russian threats instead of meddling in Asia. Analysis: Is Putin Helping Xi By Prolonging the Ukraine War? – Bryan outlines a possible coordination between Russia and China, using Ukraine to distract and weaken the West as Beijing prepares for action on Taiwan. Picture this: Joe, our guest, finds himself in the comedic chaos of babysitting a two-and-a-half-year-old while trying to rearrange our podcast setup. We dive headfirst into the hilarities and headaches of parenting and babysitting—from debating child dietary dilemmas (sushi over nuggets, anyone?) to the never-ending battle with screen time rules. This episode is a rollercoaster of humor and heart as we draw parallels between raising kids and herding pets, all while untangling microphone cords. Next, we switch gears to the financial playground where we look at how public figures like Shaq inspire us to teach children the weight of a dollar. We exchange stories about allowances, chores, and the different approaches to raising sons and daughters in a world where affluence can blur lines. Our discussion takes a spin into the realm of luxury car collections, where swapping Ford Raptors becomes a strategic dance to avoid depreciation. It's an engaging mix of money management lessons and the allure of high-end vehicles that might just leave you rethinking your next big purchase. As the conversation revs up, we entertain the whimsical notion of opening a Tex-Mex restaurant, complete with margarita shooters and a side of real estate dreams in Fulcher, Texas. Amidst these entrepreneurial aspirations, we tackle the real-world challenges of tariffs and their sneaky impact on profit margins. From tattoos to tariffs, business strategies to basketball, this episode promises a delightful buffet of anecdotes, humor, and thoughtful reflection on the modern maze of parenting, finance, and everything in between.

Send us a textIt was a real pleasure to have Motoring Journalist, TV and You Tuber Jonny Smith join us for a full fat chat about cars of yesteryear. His story starts with a couple of British classics. A Harvest Gold Austin Allegro belonging to his Grandparents, and a Hillman Avenger that his parents owned from 1979 to the late nineties, perhaps even beyond the millennium! We take in an Austin Maxi with a ‘drink driver facelift' which his Dad repaired overnight with piano wire, ready for work the next day. There's a Vauxhall Carlton, an honourable mention for the Mk2 Vauxhall Cavalier Estate (apparently built in Australia by Holden). We also speak about a white Austin Rover Montego estate, why used car dealers have bunting, and more puzzlingly always leave the boot of a car open, when on display. We finish things up with a chat about gifting books to schools, and incentivising car manufacturers painting their cars bright colours rather than ‘soviet grey' or appliance white. It goes without saying we recommend you take a listen to the wonderful Smith and Sniff Podcast, and check out The Late Brake Show on You Tube. https://smithandsniff.com/https://www.youtube.com/@TheLateBrakeShowSupport the showWe'd love you to hear and share your stories, please tag and follow us on social media. www.instagram.com/mydadscar_podcastwww.Facebook.com/mydadscar podcastwww.buymeacoffee.com/mydadscarIf you'd like to support the podcast and are able to, you can ‘buy us a coffee' which will help towards costs of hosting and purchasing equipment to allow us to record guests in person, rather than just on zoom. Chrome-domed Pierre Potato-Trump making news , claiming by way of leak to The ‘Strayan newspaper … that the PM, Mr Albo-sneezy, has it wrong on new vehicle CO2 policy, which is apparently set to drive new car prices sky high without a good, old-fashioned Coalition watering-down.Elmer Fudd giveth; and Spuman taketh away. Thus restoring harmony to the universe, which he was put here to do, obviously. So, if you can believe anything in the ‘Strayan, Mr Potato-Trump, will retain Labor's New Vehicle Efficiency scheme, but without the fines for carmakers which overstep mandated CO2 limits. Those CO2 fines were supposed to kick in on July 1, but if Captain Potato-Trump moves into the lodge, we'll just get Emissions Wank Lite, which is kinda like skim milk, or a dominatrix without a riding crop. The core issue about Labor's New Bullshit Emissions Wank Scheme is that Labor says it'll drive down the cost of new cars, and the cost of operating them. And stop Australia being a dumping ground for filthy, polluting vehicles. Not that there's any evidence that any of this this is the case.If Chris Bowen says it, it's good enough for me, obviously. But Fritte-man disagrees, and (oddly) I'm with him on this one.It won't do either of those things. The most popular cars in the country will increase in price. Because we love our utes. Because carmakers will be fined for selling them to us. Because they will breach ever-tightening CO2 standards. Because carmakers will pass those costs - the fines / stealth ute tax - on to you and me.This is a fairly simple dot-joining sequence. Even an economist could do it.Labor's policy is nothing but a Greens-appeasing stealth tax on utes and 4x4s. Correction: another Greens-appeasing stealth tax. And also one of Labor's favourite tricks - social engineering. Divisive bastards. Telling you what car to buy … without actually telling you. What they're doing is making your dual-cab ute, or other 4x4 you want, more expensive, in the hope you'll buy some piece of shit whitegoods on wheels instead, hopefully with a dirty big lithium battery inside, instead of an engine.
