The Orioles offense is very offensive | I almost died at Camden yards | Stop being a pushover
After a 75-87 year, a crucial offseason is ahead for the Orioles. "The Bird's Nest" discusses Baltimore's path forward.
Orioles president of baseball operations Mike Elias joins Darragh McDonald to discuss what went wrong for the team in 2025, why they haven't signed free agent pitchers to big contracts, the difficulty for players to make the jump from AAA to the majors, the plan moving forward with catchers Adley Rutschman and Samuel Basallo both on the roster, how the O's ended up acquiring six players from the Padres' 2024 draft class, weighing future value when making trade deadline deals, and what led the team to target Ryan O'Hearn back when he was struggling with the Royals. Then Steve Adams joins to discuss Chaim Bloom's transition to lead the Cardinals' baseball operations department and the reports that the team is headed toward a multiyear rebuild, the Rangers parting ways with Bruce Bochy and seemingly set to have a much lower payroll next year, what the fallout will be for the Mets after they missed the playoffs, the Nationals deciding to hire Paul Toboni as president of baseball operations, and why the Rockies passed on claiming Alek Manoah off waivers.
The Baltimore Orioles finished in last place, lost a half a million fans at the gate at Camden Yards and are searching for a soul this offseason while watching the rest of MLB hang bunting and play October baseball. Luke Jones attended the bizarre Tony Mansolino and Mike Elias press conference at The Warehouse on Monday. Nestor watched on his computer. Here, they discuss the word salad and measure the strategy of David Rubenstein and Michael Arougheti. The post Luke Jones and Nestor discuss Orioles strange end of season press conference and words and deeds of Mike Elias first appeared on Baltimore Positive WNST.
Ed and Jeremy took some time from the third hour of Tuesday's BBMS to talk Orioles with MASN's Brendan Mortensen. The 2025-26 offseason will be a pivotal one for the Birds. What will they need to do to make sure their 2026 season doesn't go like 2025?
Time for a Tuesday edition of the program, Glenn and Griffin will continue looking bad at Sunday's loss in Kansas City as the Ravens lost not only the game, but several bodies as well. We'll react to any and all injury updates we have after John Harbaugh met with the media yesterday, plus any other meaningful takeaways from the scrum, meanwhile on the North side of Hamburg Street, Tony Mansolino and Mike Elias met with the media for the Orioles end-of-season press conference, we'll get you the latest from the O's as well of course. At 11:10am, we are going to check in with the great Bo Smolka, PressBox Ravens beat writer, get his takeaways from Harbs' presser, what stands out most poignantly from Sunday, a look ahead to Houston this weekend and more. Then at 11:30am, we will head across the pond to catch up with our friend Gordon McGuinness from Pro Football Focus, chat with him about how PFF is grading the Ravens defense, why Derrick Henry isn't getting the football more in short yardage and so much more. And at 11:45am, we will check in with our PressBox Fantasy Football Analyst Joe Serpico, who will help us preview Waiver-Wire Wednesday as we do every Tuesday, chat about all the injuries to fantasy relevant players and how we can improve our teams amid absences. Plus, the boys will share their ‘Five Plays That Told The Story Of Sunday's Game' and more on a Tuesday edition of GCR…
Orioles reporter for The Baltimore Sun Jacob Calvin Meyer joined the show to discuss the Orioles end of the season press conference.
Orioles Hall of Famer and BBT analyst Mike Bordick joined the show to discuss what was said at the Orioles end of the season press conference.
Tony Mansolino is in consideration for the Orioles full-time manger job, but Mike Elias says they will do their due diligence with interviewing other candidates. He also mentioned that their search for a new General Manager could result in no one being hired this winter.
The Orioles are one of six teams looking for a new manager this offseason and it might be fair to question how attractive the job is. Mike Axisa joined the guys to explain why he thinks the Baltimore job opening should be coveted.

Welcome back to the Sorry to Interrupt Podcast! Sean is back to recap the Yankees' close of the Regular Season as they sweep the Orioles but miss out on the AL East. He gives his highlights and low lights from the season, discusses the best wins and losses from the season and how the team is playing at the conclusion of the season. Then Sean gives his initial thoughts on the Wild Card Series matchup with the Red Sox. Everyone enjoy the pod!
The season is winding down with just four home games remaining, and seven overall. Can the Orioles finish on a high note and gain momentum heading into the offseason? One thing is for sure, the offense has been sputtering down the stretch, putting the magnifying glass on the need for a legitimate middle-of-the-order presence before next spring. Griffin Bass joins Paul to discuss this and more on The Bat Around!
The season is over after today, and your Baltimore Orioles are crawling to the finish after two straight lackluster performances against the hated Yankees. What went right this season (not much), and what went wrong (just about everything). Zach is back with Paul to close out the 2025 Orioles season on The Bat Around.
Emmanuel Berbari takes you through all the action as the Yankees defeat the Orioles in the penultimate game of the regular season.
Lindor powered the Mets past the Cubs and punched his ticket into the 30/30 club alongside Juan Soto. The Reds saved their night with a Noelvi Marte robbery, while the Yankees stayed hot against the White Sox and now gear up for the Orioles.
The Yankees are officially in the playoffs, and they may even have a chance at winning the division! The Yankees play an important series with the Orioles to try and inch out the Blue Jays for the AL East crown for 2025. We recap the Yankees recent series, discuss their chances at the division, and explain why Yankee fans shouldn't really care about Aaron Judge's MVP this year. Make sure you subscribe and stick around for this playoff run!
Welcome back to the Sorry to Interrupt podcast! Sean is back to react to the Yankees' sweep of the White Sox and preview the final series of the year against the Orioles. He gives his biggest takeaways from the series, gives his observations from the week and touches on the AL MVP race between Judge and Raleigh before wrapping up with an updated Playoff picture heading into the final weekend. Everyone enjoy the pod!
JD takes a sigh of relief after the Blue Jays salvage their series against the Red Sox with a 6-1 victory, looks at the offensive breakthrough that was Daulton Varsho's grand slam to give the Jays the lead in the 6th inning, and the division race getting even tighter with just three games to play (00:00). Arden Zwelling, senior writer at Sportsnet.ca, joins JD to continue the conversation on the Blue Jays pushing for the AL East pennant (6:26). They discuss the starting pitcher decisions down the stretch and into the postseason, the likelihood we see Max Scherzer pitch again in a Jays uniform, Vladdy's struggles in September over the course of his career, projecting when Bo Bichette could return, and the Jays relationship with José Berríos going forward. After the break, JD gives his final thoughts on who should be the Blue Jays starter on Sunday, as the Jays finish their regular season against the Orioles (44:24).The views and opinions expressed in this podcast are those of the hosts and guests and do not necessarily reflect the position of Rogers Sports & Media or any affiliates.
Sal and BT debated the New York Yankees' chances heading into the final weekend of the season, with the team tied for the AL East lead. Sal confidently predicted a sweep of the Orioles, arguing the Yankees are on a "mission" and possess a winning energy that will secure the division and set them up for an easy path in the playoffs. BT agreed, stating the Yankees have had a "championship look" for the last five weeks and admitting his earlier doubts about the season have been erased, making a World Series win feel entirely possible. Both agreed that a deep run would force critics to give credit to both Aaron Boone and GM Brian Cashman.
Sal and BT dove into the debut of Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart, discussing the high expectations and the poor surrounding situation that could challenge his success. This transitioned into a fiery Yankees discussion, with Sal proclaiming a championship vibe and predicting a sweep of the Orioles to win the AL East, setting up a World Series run. The segment wrapped up with Nick Kostos of Bet MGM sharing his NFL Week 4 best bets, including the line movement on the Giants game, analysis of the Ravens/Lions aftermath, and his take on the overseas games and the Jets' chances on Monday night.
Blake Murphy and Julia Kreuz recap the win vs. the Red Sox, where Louis Varland and Eric Lauer held things down, and the bats woke up in the 6th. MLB.com's Bryan Hoch (30:25) joins to preview the Yankees ahead of their series vs. the Orioles. Sportsnet's Shi Davidi (50:30) describes the atmosphere around the team after the win, Daulton Varsho responding against a lefty and the weekend ahead. Lastly, Apple TV's Heidi Watney (1:14:55) provides the state of the Rays and what Clayton Kershaw's final start was like. The views and opinions expressed in this podcast are those of the hosts and guests and do not necessarily reflect the position of Rogers Sports & Media or any affiliate.
Ben and Brent continue into the second hour alongside Charles Davis, NFL on CBS analyst! They dive into last night's clash between the Seahawks and Cardinals and discuss if Seattle is for real after moving to 3-1 on the season. Charles also shares his take on the Bills ahead of their matchup with the Saints, the level of concern surrounding the Ravens' defence, if the Rams are better than people are giving them credit for, and Shedeur Sanders reportedly turning down teams at the draft. Later, the guys discuss their initial Ryder Cup thoughts, before pivoting to baseball as José Berríos hits the IL (26:56). They chat about how this will affect their pitching staff heading into October, if Eric Lauer should have retained his place amongst the starters, and who they would rather match up with down the stretch: Rays or Orioles? The views and opinions expressed in this podcast are those of the hosts and guests and do not necessarily reflect the position of Rogers Sports & Media or any affiliates.

EP 103: Wrapping up the 2025 Orioles season by MASN
Bienvenidos a una nueva edición de Baseball News, tu noticiero diario de Grandes Ligas en español ⚾
The Jets and Mets were losing at almost the exact same time yesterday. As the Bucs were coming back to win their game after the Jets blocked and returned a FG attempt, Francisco Alvarez was getting robbed of a HR. The Jets fell to 0-3 at the same time the Mets were falling out of the playoffs. Right now both of their Octobers mean nothing. That could change, but it's not looking great. Boomer said the major difference between them is the Jets are in a rebuild and the Mets spent a ton of money on their roster. Gio said the Mets do not deserve to make the playoffs. They are ‘consistently inconsistent'. Even if they back into the playoffs and lose, that's a bad scene. Aaron Glenn said after the game this isn't the same old Jets, but it is. C-Lo returned for an update and started with the sounds of Patrick Mahomes fumbling and then going and getting the ball back himself from a Giants' defender. Russell Wilson had trouble throwing deep against the Chiefs defense. Daboll kept getting questions after the game about a QB change. We heard the sounds of the Jets blocking a Bucs FG attempt that was returned for a TD and had the Jets believing they would win the game. Aaron Glenn was happy to see how the Jets played and said it's ‘not an instant coffee team' yet again. The Yankees beat the Orioles in extra innings as Ben Rice hit a grand slam. The Mets lost to the Nationals, whose center fielder made 2 great plays. In the final segment of the hour, Gio said the next QB to start has to be Jaxson Dart, not Jameis Winston. He's the last shot Daboll has to stick around. Boomer thinks the Falcons had to have the worst day, but the Rams loss had to be crushing. Once again there were issues with the tush-push even though the NFL told officials to officiate it properly.
Hour 1 The Giants lost again last night, as they are now 2-19 in their last 21 prime time games. When do you go to Jaxson Dart? The Chargers come to town next week and then they go to New Orleans. You can't throw him to the wolves against the Chargers. The Giants kicker was hurt again before the game even started. The Giants had first and goal and couldn't score and had the worst plays called. They never got Malik Nabers involved in that game. The Jets and Giants need to stop the bleeding by bringing in an established head coach. C-Lo is in for Jerry and is here for his first update and starts with the sounds of the Giants not scoring with first and goal. Brian Daboll said he would be booing too after last night. Andy Reid commented on the fans booing the Giants. Aaron Glenn said this is not the same old Jets, and he hates that term. He said the team is fighters. The Mets lost their series against the Nationals, including yesterday when Alvarez was robbed of a HR in the ninth. In the final segment of the hour, golfer Patrick Cantlay put his hand behind his back in an effort to not high five fans, including children. How do we feel about that? Hour 2 Yesterday, both the Jets and Mets lost. The Jets fell to 0-3 while the Mets dropped out of playoff contention. Boomer noted the Jets are rebuilding, unlike the Mets who spent heavily. Gio believes the Mets are "consistently inconsistent" and don't deserve the playoffs. Aaron Glenn claimed this isn't the "same old Jets," despite their loss. C-Lo's update included Patrick Mahomes recovering his fumble and Russell Wilson struggling. Daboll faced questions about a QB change. The Jets' blocked FG return initially gave them hope. Aaron Glenn emphasized they're not an "instant coffee team." The Yankees won in extra innings with a Ben Rice grand slam, while the Mets lost to the Nationals. Gio advocated for Jaxson Dart as the next QB for the Giants, while Boomer felt the Falcons and Rams had crushing losses. Issues with the "tush-push" continued. Hour 3 Daniel Jones is having a great season so far with the Colts. Sometimes it happens for guys in places where it would never happen in the place they originally were. A caller doesn't want Sauce Gardener to have the ‘Sauce' nickname anymore. We went over Daniel Jones' stats so far, which are very impressive. We took a bunch of calls from frustrated Giants fans. C-Lo returns for an update and starts with Cris Collinsworth saying there's excitement in the Giants building about Jaxson Dart. Mike Francesa didn't like seeing Aaron Glenn dancing after the blocked FG the Jets returned for a TD. Francesa continued screaming about Glenn and the ‘same old Jets'. In the final segment of the hour, today is Al's birthday but CBS did not send food like they normally do. They didn't realize. Hour 4 The Giants are going to have to play Jaxson Dart because the fans are sick of saying the same thing year after year. Gio doesn't want him starting this week at home against the Chargers. He wants him starting the following week in New Orleans. Boomer's worried he won't be able to protect himself out there. Boomer also said he has some Baker Mayfield in him. C-Lo returns for an update and we hear Russell Wilson's second interception of the game. Aaron Glenn wants you to know they're not the ‘same old Jets'. He hates that term and doesn't know what it means. Frank The Tank went off on the Mets again as they lost to the Nationals. Evan Roberts is getting aroused about playoff scenarios. The Yankees beat the Orioles in extras as Ben Rice hit a grand slam in the tenth. The Moment of The Day: Mike Francesa doesn't want Aaron Glenn dancing. In the final segment of the show, we looked at the early betting lines for this coming weekend. Gio said starting Jameis Winston won't excite Giants fans the way starting Dart would.

We started with the local baseball teams and who they will likely play when the playoffs come (assuming the Mets make it). We also talked about the Bills winning again last night, with Boomer noting they have not had a turnover in 8 straight games. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with the Yankees beating the Orioles 7-0, and they did it without a HR. Jonah Tong struck out 8 as the Mets beat the Padres. Clayton Kershaw announced he is retiring after this season. We heard Suzyn & Dave Sims arguing about saves in Pittsburgh vs saves in NY. Tua threw a pick on the Bills 21 yard line as the Dolphins lost to the Bills. We heard from Mike McDaniel after the game. Quinnen Williams said the players made a pact to not be as bad as they were against the Bills. Carson Wentz is ready to go for the Vikings as they take on the Bengals. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about some of the NFL matchups this weekend. We talked about the 40 starting Jets quarterbacks since Joe Namath left.
Jerry starts with the sounds of the Bills beating the Dolphins. Tua threw a pick late in the game on the Bills 21 yard line. Tyreek Hill talked about being 0-3. The Yankees shutout the Orioles 7-0 without hitting a HR. Jonah Tong struck out 8 as the Mets beat the Padres and Pete Alonso had another HR.
We started with a preview of Jets/Bucs and took a call from a guy driving down there. Gio told him not to sit near the cannons as they will be going off all game. A caller went to the wrong airport as he confused Charlotte and Charleston. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and starts with the Yankees beating the Orioles 7-0 without hitting a HR. Jonah Tong had a great start for the Mets as they beat the Padres. Clayton Kershaw announced he will retire at the end of the season. Tua threw a pick as the Dolphins were driving late, and the Bills won. Mike McDaniel talked about it after the game. The Moment of The Day: Boomer reacts to Suzyn & Dave Sims disagreeing in the booth. In the final segment of the week, our NFL picks for week 3 in the NFL.
Patrick Mahomes said being 0-2 is a great opportunity to show people on Sunday night football what the Chiefs are really made of. Mahomes has lost 3 games in a row for the first time in his career. Gio said it seems impossible that they would lose to the Giants and go 0-3 to start the season. We still don't know for sure if Andrew Thomas is playing. Gio is not expecting the same Giants offense we saw in Dallas. Boomer said the Chiefs offense is not that great, but Gio cautioned it's still Patrick Mahomes. Gio is wearing a Dua Lipa hoodie he got yesterday. Who has more commercials, the Manning brothers or the Kelce brothers? Jerry returns for an update and starts with the Tua interception that was costly as the Bills beat the Dolphins. Mike McDaniel spoke after the game and sounded like a doofus. Russell Wilson loves playing at MetLife because he won a Super Bowl there. Eli Manning was on Peter Schraegger's podcast and talked about helping Jaxson Dart, who took it too literally. The Yankees beat the Orioles 7-0 without hitting a HR. Chris Russo asks Ian Eagle about travel while doing all these games and Mike Francesa eulogizes Robert Redford. In the final segment of the hour, Gio got a box in the mail to ‘open on air on football Friday'. It's a Vikings male cheerleader bobblehead.
The Buccaneers will be in their creamsicle uniforms on Sunday when they play the Jets. Is this going to be a Todd Bowles revenge spot? Aaron Glenn has been using a lot of corny cliches like ‘big ships turn slow' and ‘it's not instant coffee'. Boomer said you have to be lucky enough to have a great QB to be successful in the NFL. Anthony in Belleville called in and talked about his Chargers and Gio's old mullet. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the sounds of the Bills beating the Dolphins. Clayton Kershaw announced that this will be his last season. In the final segment of the hour, Gio said everyone seems to be turning on the Eagles. Al Michaels seemingly took a shot at them on the broadcast last night. The NFL told officials to watch the Tush Push because they have been offside in the past. Gio's wife asked for a Super Bowl prediction and he said Eagles/Ravens. Boomer thinks the Packers are the team to beat in the NFC and the Ravens in the AFC.
