Được thành lập cách đây một thập niên, nhóm Polo & Pan gồm hai thành viên : Paul Armand-Delille với nghệ danh « Polocorp » và Alexandre Grynszpan còn được gọi là « Peter Pan ». Cả hai người trước đó đều biểu diễn solo ở Paris, họ gặp nhau vào năm 2012 khi làm việc chung tại hộp đêm Baron, nơi Paul và Alexandre cùng bắt đầu hòa âm trước khi chuyển qua sáng tác và phát hành đĩa nhạc đầu tiên mang tựa de « Rivolta » vào năm 2012. Khi mới vào nghề, nhóm này chỉ lấy một phần tên của mỗi thành viên, rồi ghép lại thành danh hiệu Polo & Pan. Nesta edição do Balada Musical, escolhemos dois grupos tipicamente parisienses: o duo Polo & Pan e a banda L'Impératrice. L'Impératrice se formou em 2012 na capital francesa e atualmente é a referência do nu-disco e do electrofunk francês. Considerados como os filhotes da French Touch, a banda lançou seu segundo álbum neste ano, "Tako Tsubo". A faixa que escolhemos é "Hematome". Na sequência, ouviremos a faixa "Tunnel", do duo Polo & Pan. Também originários de Paris, os DJs Paul Armand-Delille (Polocorp) e Alexandre Grynszpan (Peter Pan) criaram um universo especial, brincando com sonoridades infantis e as misturando a ritmos tropicais e world music. We had the pleasure of interviewing Paul Armand-Delille (Polo) of Polo & Pan over Zoom video! Parisian duo Polo & Pan have released their second full length album Cyclorama, featuring 14 tracks fitting for summer. The timeless band fine tunes their sound on Cyclorama, vibrantly exploring themes like transcendence, life, and death with a matured combination of dance, techno, disco, and psychedelia. The album's lead single that arrived earlier this year, “Ani Kuni,” is growing rapidly, crossing top 40 at French airplay and already at over 5 million streams in less than two months. The album also features three songs from the band's 2020 EP Feel Good, as well as the three recent tracks they have released in 2021: “Ani Kuni,” “Tunnel feat. Channel Tres,” and “Les jolies choses.” Polo & Pan have been praised by the likes of E! News, Consequence of Sound, Dancing Astronaut, and more. Well apparently it's festival season here at the Active Listener Podcast. This time though we move from the amorphous blob that is SXSW to the far more curated Coachella. Don't let the big names at the top of the bill fool you though. (I honestly don't even remember who they were!) On commence notre semaine des sorties musicales au Havre avec non pas une mais deux sorties : Le nouvel album de Francis et celui de Sample Sickness. Ailleurs en France, on va écouter une nouvelle collaboration entre les producteurs Yuksek et Polo Pan.On va ensuite se régaler en Suisse d'un nouvel EP pour Puts Marie.Puis on file en Angleterre avec une nouvelle tribulation du duo I Monster.On se rend rarement en Inde, et bien on en profite avec la sortie du nouvel album de Peter Cat Recording Co.On finira aux Etats-Unis avec la douce voix de Rayana Jay, les rockeurs de LA Sego et le producteur de musique maximaliste Flying Lotus.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Super happy to be able to get this mix out in time for travel season. Got all sorts of 110-125 bpm house/electronica inflected vibes today. Light to heavy, and everything in between. Got the loungy bossa / Thievery sound, the almost late 80s early 90s pop vocal sound, the tech house sound al a Dirty Bird and others with some solid vocal repetition, some current pop vocal sounds, the jazzy disco house vibe, and even a Jon Hopkins sounding Odesza remix. And all of it's mixed together seamlessly! (or close at least) Let this be a soundtrack to your holiday.   Also, don't sleep on the last podcast!
