Die Börsenminute
Aufreger der Woche: Cannabis-Investments Rauch und Schall

Die Börsenminute

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 3, 2023 4:08

Ein ähnlich Anlagebetrugs-Verdachtfall, „My first plant“ wird in Kärnten nachgegangen. Energy, world grain supplies, consumer goods – so much more: ships transport a remarkable 90 per cent of the world's commodities. As the UN's Secretary-General António Guterres said: “Without ships and the women and men who work on them, economies would stall, and people would starve.” Founded by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) back in 2011, the Day of the Seafarer is on the 25th of June – so this episode we are looking at how EU funding is working to make life at sea, safer – for passengers and for crew. Franz Evegren, is director of the Fire Safe Transport Department at the Research Institutes of Sweden. Franz focuses ways to reduce the number of fires on board roll-on/roll-off car ferries. Luis Sanchez-Heres, is also at the Research Institutes of Sweden where he is working on harnessing the power of Ai and machine learning to improve location pin pointing. E1: Teacher Certification Podcast | Study Hack | How-to-Microlearn In today's episode, I'll be talking about micro-learning. Micro-learning is a kind of buncha - mini - lessons that can be repeated over and over again in less than 10 minutes so you can individualize your learning and strengthen specific skills. It's what we use at FTCESEMINAR.com to teach concepts. Put it this way. When I sat for the FTCE General Knowledge I started with a book, opened it to page one and started plowing through it. Sure that's one way to do it, but that's because I didn't know about micro-learning! Now, where were we, ah yes. Microlearning. That's right. First things first: What really is microlearning? And how is this educational strategy going to help me pass the test? According to the Research Institutes of Sweden (RISE), micro-learning is a relatively new educational strategy as a result of the rapid changes in our technological society. Today's learner faces time constraints while juggling work, school, and family priorities making microlearning an effective way to study-on-the-go.  Check out this resource for more Study Hacks or visit the FTCE Seminar website for more information and resources. **Support FTCE Seminar! **Contributions are appreciated and help support the maintenance of this resource. Dr. Begley is the inaugural CEO of BioCurate, a joint initiative of Monash and Melbourne Universities and created to provide commercial focus in the early phases of drug development. He served as Chief Scientific Officer at Akriveia Therapeutics, California (2016-2017) and TetraLogic Pharmaceuticals, Pennsylvania (2012-2016). From 2002-2012, he was Vice-President and Global Head of Hematology/Oncology Research at Amgen, responsible for building, directing and integrating Amgen’s 5 research sites. There he highlighted the issue of research integrity and scientific reproducibility. Since then he has made multiple presentations on the subject of scientific integrity including to President Obama's Science Council, the White House, US National Institutes of Health, US Academies of Science, US National Institute of Standards and Technology, the British Broadcasting Company, Australian National Health and Medical Research Council, and numerous Universities, Research Institutes and companies. Before Amgen he had over 20 years of clinical experience in medical oncology and hematology. His personal research focused on regulation of hematopoietic cells and translational clinical trials. His early studies, in Prof Donald Metcalf’s department first described human G-CSF, and in later clinical studies, performed in Professor Richard Fox’s Department at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, the group first demonstrated that G-CSF-"mobilized" blood stem cells hastened hematopoietic recovery, a finding that revolutionized bone-marrow transplantation. His honors include being elected as the first Foreign Fellow to the American Society of Clinical Investigation in 2000, to the Association of American Physicians in 2008, and in 2014 to the Research "Hall of Fame" at his alma mater, the Royal Melbourne Hospital and to the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences.

Port Collaborative Decision Making concept (Port CDM), part of the Sea Traffic Management Validation Project - STM and the winner of the Digital Enabler Award 2017 -meet the Project leader, Mikael Lind, Associate Professor, Research Institutes of Sweden, RISE Viktoria, who now has been bitten by the "shipping-bug" and loves Ports.  How can the ports increase their efficiency by becoming digital? That is the question that Mikael Lind is answering in this the 78th episode of the Shipping Podcast.  The Port CDM group made a map of all stakeholders involved in a port call, they call it "the metromap", you can find it on the Facebook page of the Shipping Podcast.  When looking at the #metromap it becomes obvious that if all parties involved had the same information about what and when things will happen, a lot of time will be saved. And time is money. I love feedback! Social media, email, comments, anything you think is important to me. And that you share the Shipping Podcast with your friends and colleagues, we are on a mission here!  Thank you for listening!  @lenagothberg
