Il poliziottesco è un sottogenere cinematografico italiano di film d'azione e crime; chiamato anche "poliziesco all'italiana", si distingue dal classico giallo o poliziesco per il suo tono più crudo, violento e socialmente impegnato. Anche se molti film di questo sottogenere sono dimenticabili, spesso le colonne sonore, con quell'incredibile miscela tra funky e prog, sono dei gioielli: non a caso i Calibro 35 ne hanno fatto un marchio di fabbrica. Puntata di fuochi d'artificio già dal titolo: tre sigle per annunciare che il regista del nuovo 007 sarà Denis Villeneuve, roba che fino alla settimana scorsa sembrava una boutade. E invece: Blade Runner 2049, Dune e ora pure James Bond. Si prosegue con revival da brividi: tornano i Cesaroni (stavolta senza Amendola) e addirittura Sandokan, che ha già messo le mani sulle spade di legno della nostalgia. Tra i film in uscita domina “Formula 1” aka il Top Gun delle macchine, con Brad Pitt a tutto gas in un film costosissimo di Apple TV. In chiusura, una commediaccia francese così brutta da far ridere per sbaglio.

L'11 luglio l'Arena Fiera ospiterà i Calibro 35 per un live multimediale all'interno del Siren Festival. Il polistrumentista Enrico Gabrielli parla della loro musica tra noir sonori, visual sperimentali e riflessioni sull'intelligenza artificiale. I Calibro 35 tornano in Sardegna per un atteso appuntamento live l'11 luglio all'Arena Fiera di Cagliari, in occasione del Siren Festival. Il gruppo, tra i nomi di riferimento della musica strumentale italiana, presenterà uno spettacolo interamente rinnovato, fortemente legato all'immaginario cinematografico e al loro ultimo lavoro discografico “Exploration”. A raccontare il ritorno isolano è Enrico Gabrielli, che ai microfoni di Unica Radio ha condiviso ricordi personali e riflessioni artistiche, parlando del legame con l'Isola, della nuova dimensione creativa della band e del futuro della musica nell'epoca dell'intelligenza artificiale. Gabrielli descrive la Sardegna come una terra “ammantata di leggenda”, non solo per le bellezze naturali ma per il forte legame emotivo che lui stesso ha con l'Isola, grazie alla presenza di amici stretti e a ricordi di concerti precedenti. Il live di luglio promette di essere un'esperienza sensoriale immersiva, costruita su un nuovo equilibrio tra musica jazz, groove funk e visual art. Le proiezioni saranno curate da Matteo Castiglioni, anche tastierista dei Murena, definito da Gabrielli “formidabile” per capacità immaginifica e creatività visiva. Questa commistione tra suono e immagine rappresenta un ulteriore passo nella sperimentazione multimediale dei Calibro 35. Tra colonne sonore immaginarie, nuove serie tv e riflessioni sul tempo Il nuovo album “Exploration” segna per la band milanese un ritorno alle origini, dopo anni passati a comporre musiche originali per serie tv e film. Tra i progetti più impegnativi in corso, Gabrielli menziona il remake di Sandokan per la Rai, una produzione che ha richiesto più di due anni di lavoro. “Exploration” si configura così come una sorta di “lettino di psicanalisi” sonoro, un esercizio di autoriflessione collettiva che aiuta i musicisti a mappare la propria identità e a ridefinire il proprio linguaggio musicale, libero dalla costrizione delle parole e delle etichette. Gabrielli sottolinea come l'assenza del testo cantato permetta alla musica dei Calibro 35 di viaggiare senza confini, trovando spazio anche nei media internazionali, come accaduto con la BBC. La loro musica è stata utilizzata per trasmissioni come il “Match of the Day”, confermando la forza narrativa della componente strumentale. Di fronte all'epoca digitale e alla standardizzazione algoritmica dell'ascolto, i Calibro 35 restano ancorati a una visione artigianale della musica, consapevoli del fatto che ciò che resta nel tempo spesso sfugge alla logica dell'“usa e getta”. With the assistance of academic scholarships, she attended St. George's, an elite New England boarding school, and studied at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts-where she came out as Queer and explored the ballroom scene. After graduating, she collaborated with veterans, clergy, and soccer moms to lead dozens of humanitarian aid missions to Latin America.Later, she studied at the Sorbonne and Yale University-where; she earned a Ph.D. in political science and African American studies. As a professor at Williams, Northwestern, and other prestigious colleges and universities, Robin wrote, produced, and directed the award-winning documentary "Black and Cuba," which streams on Amazon Prime. She's published essays in "The Atlantic," produced the prize-winning play "9 GRAMS" (directed by Obie-winner S. Epatha Merkerson), and received funding for work from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Ford Foundation. Her narrative history book "Love for Liberation: African Independence, Black Power, and a Diaspora Underground" was published to critical acclaim.Recently, Robin shifted her full-time focus away from academia to Hollywood. She participated in The Black List/Women in Film Episodic Lab. In addition, she's a writer on the forthcoming television series "Sandokan" from the producers of "Transformers," "Queen of the South," and "Devils." A surfing and contemporary art enthusiast, Robin is based in Los Angeles.About the book:During the height of the Cold War, passionate idealists across the US and Africa came together to fight for Black self-determination and the antiracist remaking of society. Beginning with the 1957 Ghanaian independence celebration, the optimism and challenges of African independence leaders were publicized to African Americans through community-based newspapers and Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Inspired by African independence—and frustrated with the slow pace of civil rights reforms in the US—a new generation of Black Power activists embarked on nonviolent direct action campaigns and built alternative institutions designed as spaces of freedom from racial subjugation.Featuring interviews with activists, extensive archival research, and media analysis, Robin Hayes reveals how Black Power and African independence activists created a diaspora underground characterized by collaboration and reciprocal empowerment.
